FANTASTIC FOOD AND SERVICE!!! The food and service are amazing. I had the vegan burger and it was well presented, cooked to perfection and fantastic value. The staff here are lovely, friendly and very knowledgeable. This was a great find. If you are in Hull, you must try this place. They do Vegetarian and Vegan food. The food is amazing. Thank you for the great food and great service.

Wow wow wow! I cannot praise this place enough, the staff are wonderful and accommodating, the homely decor is comfy and unique. And we fed four of us for £35 including drinks. The children are gluten free, vegetarian , and dairy free which means it can be challenging to dine out, Zoo had so much choice, the kids loved it. Blown away!

Sunday morning just after opening and the place was almost full. The food was great, service friendly but it took 25mins for coffee and it was over an hour before the food arrived. We ordered rarebit, vege breakfast and French toast (which was fantastic). Decent prices too, shame about the wait.

I knew it was going to be good when there was a queue to get in and they didn't disappoint. I'm not vegan or veggie but chose the vegan cheeseburger and salad and it was the tastiest burger I've had in ages nicer than any meat based burger. Not a scrap of food left on any of our plates. The staff are lovely and friendly and polite. Our food arrived nice and quick. Can't wait to go back again and this time I'll be trying the cakes. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Friday lunch time is busy but ever so brilliant service. I was sat with a couple of friendly ladies at the sharing table upstairs and the whole environment and service was brilliant. I had falafel flatbread topped with beautiful salad. The falafel is not whipped or mashed but has texture of the chickpeas which I personally love.

Gotta love this place. The food is healthy and hearty, doesn't break the bank and leaves you stuffed! The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The staff are spot on. Literally can't fault it, but have loved it for 20 years so might be biased. Thay alone talks volumes as it's stood the test of time and the recession, and gone from strength to strength.

Zoo cafe is tucked away in a alley just off Newland avenue. It is vegetarian but accomodates vegan customers also. With a fantastic selection of food with large portions at a very reasonable price with mains coming to around 5 pounds. I would reccomend it to anyone in the area. The only issue maybe acctually getting a seat and at peak times food can be a little delayed in coming out but otherwise great place for brunch!

One of my new favourite places to eat in Hull close to Hull University. Fantastic atmosphere (packed, which is always a good sign). Very friendly staff. The restaurant looks and feels clean. The food was fantastic and not overpriced either. Definitely worth a visit.

Been here before, but a few years ago. Went for lunch today with my daughter, it was very good. Quick friendly service, the food was lovely. I'm not vegetarian, but still enjoy non meat meals. The roasted veg flat bread with guacamole and feta was delicious. Will definitely return again. I will say that the portions were huge, so I couldn't eat it all, but for some people that would be a bonus!

Always a good experience, food comes promptly, lots of dishes on the menu, cakes are great, coffee is hot and being veggie it is hard to find somewhere that is decent to eat but this place always comes up with the goods! I've been to their guided meditation class weds eve with a Buddhist Monk leading it, it's certainly something different but really enjoyed it. Well done! A great community hub, friendly staff and quirky interior.

It's rare to find a place in a city thats slowly embracing vegan culture let alone provide multiple options but Zoo never fails to impress. Almost every option in this vegetarian hideaway can be made vegan and the options are just a delight to devour. The chilled out vibe matched with the abundance of plants inside and out just adds to the amazing food. I would dine here every day if I could and I would recommend to anybody that wants to try outstanding veggie food!

However I don't recommend the smoothies- but too much apple juice to be considered a smoothie (in my opinion). All in all, great, and affordable place to grab a meal! Great independent cafe tucked away from Newland Ave. It's a vegetarian cafe but not vegan and still serves eggs etc. Very friendly, attentive and chatty staff. Great outdoor seating area and a few bits of greenery / plants, as it's tucked away down a side alley, it's away from the traffic and noise of Newland Ave and a pleasant change from the other cafes. Inside, the cafe is split onto two levels when the upstairs being the best. It has a couple of sofa areas and then normal table and chairs. What puts this cafe apart is the amount of flowers and plants placed around and hung from the ceiling. Great atmosphere, customers and staff

The Zoo is a hidden gem of vegetarian dining in Hull. Located off the main street if Newland Avenue I would never have even knew it existed if it wasn't for the happy cow app. The portions are large the food is delicious and the service and ambiance are great. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Highly recommended!!

What's not to love? The staff are some of the loveliest people I've ever met, the food is delicious and always up to a high standard of quality and the place is beautifully decorated and generally has a welcoming and relaxed vibe to it. The food is very reasonably priced and I think you definitely get good value for your money here! It does get quite busy around certain times and there's not always somewhere to sit - we've sat on the floor a couple of times! Overall, if you're vegetarian or vegan, then this is definitely the place for you - definitely give it a go!

Zoo is a relaxed great place to eat with fresh tasty ingredients and friendly staff who are so accommodating. I’m personally not a vegetarian but they offer such a great selection I have no trouble finding something I like. Personal favourites of mine are the pouched eggs on toast, cheesy nachos and the French toast with fresh fruit. This place is a must try.

Best cafe in hull, such a nice vibe, very friendly staff and delicious food. As an avid meat eater I didn't think I'd like it when I went with my parents and got the full English, but it is delicious regardless of the lack of meat. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting hull!

Not the easiest to find as it's on a small side street and it didn't look open at first (the open sign wasn't visible) but the food was good and reasonably priced. Went for a healthy Sunday lunch, and by were we impressed! Set down a cute little alley off Newland Ave, The Zoo is a hidden gem. Delicious vegetarian food at reasonable prices (£5.50-6.50 for a lunch main) in good sized portions. The decor is rustic and inviting. The staff are friendly and down to earth. Would definitely recommend!

New owners have refitted it and it's now clean light and airy, and really pretty. I ordered the zoo burger and it was great. Only drawback is toilet is upstairs/no lift not sure about disabled access etc. Owners seemed really nice. Staff were good but they were really busy so food a little slow to come out.
