Reviews of rivers MEET
E. R.
What an absolute delight of a place. We sat outside around the back & had pulled pork sandwiches. Utterly delicious on a proper scuffler.
Adorable mix & match vintage style crockery which I thought was adorable!
Really lovely staff as well. I can't wait to go back and sample the rest of the menu. It's so close to where I live I can't believe I have never been before! See you soon!
A. K.
Lovely afternoon tea for four people. We were served what I think may have been the largest scones ever, which were amazing. Good service, reasonably priced.
D. R.
Loved this little rest stop! A fantastic little cafe, delicious food, lovely people - great for lunch, even better if you're passing by on the canal not far away.
R. B.
Proper scone. Homemade, just how a scone should taste, delicious. Loved the different tea cups and saucers. R x
S. W.
Went to look at a craft display/sale. Great cafe, even though small it had quality foid and drink. Staff very friendly.
G. E.
It's always friendly and welcoming. Lovely cakes. My fave place after a walk .

Cosy and quiet with great coffee and desserts - loved it! I cannot wait to move to the area and to start visiting regularly. Great job to the people running it - we need more like you! :)
H. S.
Lovely place, buzzing at lunchtime. Lovely chatter, gorgeous baked potatoes and adorable crafts available. Only got a picture of an empty plate because it was too good to stop for a pic! 😅
M. s.
Lovely quaint little place with completely non inbred workers I can assure you, was served by an absolutely leng waitress and tipped her handsomely for the exceleng service(see what I did there) overall a pleasant experience left with a full stomach and a smile on my face 10/10

Really impressed with the cake and cheese. A great stop off when cycling on the Trans Pennine Trail. Enjoyed sitting outside.

First visit to Rivers Meet place was nice tea and cake very good, had a look round shop bit lots of good stuff reasonable priced
I. &. B. A.
We stumbled across this cafe/ shop/ sewing Centre yesterday. The service and food was excellent. It feels like a village hub spot. We had our lunch in the sewing room. The shop sold an eclectic mix of handknits, cards amongst other things. The knitwear was fabulous and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back! Thank you!
R. W.
First time here at this friendly cafe and craft shop. Good home made food and great tasting coffee. Very busy place with all tables full. Did not realize that there was outdoor seating at the back in a sheltered courtyard till we left. We will be back to try the cakes soon.
M. D.
Lovely place to have a coffee and cake. All products are home made and delicious. It's not posh but it's really welcoming, warm and friendly. I would recommend to everyone
J. B.
A former pub, now cafe and craft shop. The menu is fairly typical for a cafe, breakfasts till 11.30am, sandwiches, soups and stews, a selection of cakes and buns on the counter. We had sandwiches and lattes. The coffee was good, food is local themed (scufflers, bubble and squeak, corned beef hash, etc) and we enjoyed ours. Reasonably priced, service friendly. It's quite busy so it may be necessary to book. The craft shop sells little handmade gifts, cards, craft supplies, soaps. Will visit again.
J. R.
This is a great place to visit for coffee or lunch. It's comfy and friendly and is the place to come if you like sewing, crafts, art - you name it. Well known for hosting all sorts of craft and sewing workshops, it is much loved by all who visit.
A. W.
Brilliant cafe and with lots of outdoor seating..yummy jacket potato and cake we had 4 between 2 ...it was too difficult to choose
D. J.
Nice cake , ample portions , great for a cuppa and cake at the end of a walk
Y. R.
Friendly staff, nice food although a bit pricy for what you get. Parking not great
E. A.
We had a cracking breakfast after a walk at the nearby St. Aidan's nature reserve. The food was good quality - great eggs royale and full English. The staff were welcoming and lovely, coffee really hit the spot and it's a nice place to while away an hour or so!
L. G.
We went for a pre-booked afternoon tea for two. The overall atmosphere was lively, the staff were lovely and very helpful, the food selection was ample and spot on and the quality of produce was great. Will definitely go back to try some of the things on the regular menu.
P. B.
I haven't been for ages due to covid etc so it was particularly pleasant to enjoy an excellent cup of coffee in a quirky setting. The cakes are fab and the adjoining shop sells lovely crafts.
A. C.
Enjoyable lunch and coffee ,lots of very tempting cakes to eat .
F. g. W.
Breakfast and coffee is excellent and well priced. Very homely feel to the place and an open fire in winter which we love. Craft shop and community hub on site too. Very close to the canal for a good walk afterwards. We hope to be back soon. Highly recommended!
S. B.
Quirky little cafe with a Quirky little shop attached! Loved it!
C. G.

D. M.
this is a lovely place to get a latte coffee lge' £3,00 (other drinks available), without any children (I've never seen any) food hot/cold available, there's a craft shop to purchase unusual gift's, deserves a try,
R. M. A.
Lovely quirky little coffee shop in rural surroundings 😘
N. R.
Went for afternoon tea. Great sandwich selection they did some that I asked for. Scones huge and to die for with cream and jam. Great cake cake selection. Staff lovely. Recommend
S. D.
Such a friendly place to visit. Food and snacks are excellent. Comphy indoor seating, plus outside seating. Craft room and items for sale are lovely, and some bring a smile to ones face. Highly recommended.
B. H.
Lovely relaxing garden area with beautiful cakes and coffee
V. H.
Loved the atmosphere here, very friendly.
A. T.
Visited today for the first time. Really enjoyed it. Kids we made to feel very welcome. It's also nice to see a local community supporting a local business.
Nice and quaint decor. Coffee was good as were hot chocs and my daughters sausage sandwich.
Parking is limited and tight but there's not much you can do about that.
Nice place, well done.
C. c.
I love this great independent cafe. Tasty food lovely homemade cake the rocky road today was scrumptious! Being small and local it gives you a warm welcome . Lovely craft shop and centre to visit if your handy
K. G.
A gorgeous craft cafe, owned and run by a local family, at the heart of the community, serving delicious food and drinks and offering a variety of craft classes, with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Like home from home - you'll definitely want to visit more than once!
C. D.
A quaint and charming cafe with a real homely feel inside. And the most amazing scones I've ever had! All the food is delicious and fresh but a huge special mention for those crumbly, warm scones.
S. D.
Cosy welcoming place. Had afternoon tea. It was perfect. All scones and cakes baked on site. Scones warm and served with butter, jam, and proper clotted cream. I have been to some nice hotels were afternoon tea has cost three times more yet no butter and not clotted cream. We were party of 6 adults and 3 children the youngest of which was 2. In one corner there are a few toys which is a lovely touch and kept little hands occupied.
T. S.
Recommended by a friend, this homely cafe and craft shop lived up to its billing. Menu is sound café fare: breakfasts & light lunches. Coffee is good and cakes looked very tempting. Looks like a former pub, where they've kept the traditional layout, so there are several snugs which add to the charm of the venue. On a cold December day, this chilled cyclist found a warm welcome and some good food.
S. M.
They've replaced the back room table and chairs with a second sofa and dogs are no longer allowed inside. Outside has about eight picnic tables with an assortment of highback chairs for those who need them. A porch covers a third of the patio. Only Fairweather visits for us from now on... Afternoon tea good as usual.
L. W.
No welcome on arrival
We were not sure whether to sit down at a table or wait to be told .
As the rules vary.
But it would have nice to be told
Very strange atmosphere.
Think the guy could not be bothered .
For the price u pay .it was hard work .
Food was fine .
C. C.
Fabulous home made food. Good selection of hot and cold beverages. Check the specials board for extra wonderful treats. Always a warm welcome from Jo, Richard and the team. Visit the craft shop for cards and beautiful gifts. Terrific homely atmosphere. Highly recommended.
E. N.
A really lovely place to meet friends with there dogs 🐕 . Lovely cup of coffee and amazing cakes. So please it was Open. Xx
J. H.
Brilliant cafe with a twist. Here you can learn all sorts of crafts as well as get a good meal. It's warm and friendly, the staff are great and I would highly recommend the food especially the home made cakes. The teachers should you wish to learn a craft are knowledgeable and have a real knack for teaching. I took a basic overlocker course and came away confident to start using my machine. Well worth a visit.
K. l.
Delicious food and lovely atmosphere 😋
J. B.
Set in a former pub, this cafe has a certain charm. The food is great and the coffee is good. Service is quick. They host several activity groups (eg knitting). Parking is in adjacent side streets.
L. S.
Good food; lovely atmosphere. Altogether it's a refreshing place. I really enjoy going there.
h. s.
Spent a lovely afternoon for my mum's birthday with family at the cafe, reserved a lovely table in the window. We had afternoon tea which consisted of a selection of sandwiches, homemade cakes and endless pots of tea, The staff were very friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble, all in all a lovely experience, highly recommend it.
C. B.
Lovely food and a friendly atmosphere. There's a little craft shop and a craft room where there are several sessions throughout the week. Parking is a little difficult but there's a small (although slightly muddy) car park to the side of the building.
D. B.
Absolutely beautiful afternoon tea. So much food we brought a box home. Delicious
H. J.
Fabulous place, great for food and lovely friendly atmosphere. They do sewing/craft groups which you can often see going on in the session rooms which is lovely and a cute shop with independent sellers, great for gifts.
P. T.
Lovely food, delicious cakes, great service, and awesome music. Of all the cafes in the area this is our fav... there most weeks.
C. M.
Just been to rivers meet, had a bacon and mushroom sandwich and coffee. The sandwich was lovely with good fresh bread and produce. Friendly staff with a relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely re visit.
L. W.
Fantastic Friendly Fun Fabby Food! - Gorgeous home made food - scones, cakes, soup, toast, wedges all a must. Hot chocolate is beautiful and cup of tea yummy. Clean place, very friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere. We merrily drink tea and eat cakes while my daughter has sewing lessons here.
I also did a wreath making course here and it was brilliant!
Highly recommend for laid back, lovely chats and craft fun. Child friendly too.
A. W.
Staff are friendly. Food is basic but it's fresh, well cooked and tasty - exactly what i'd expect from a GREAT CAFE! the nice range of cakes both traditional and unusual are a nice touch. This isn't even mentioning the craft element! They have a small craft supplies shop at the back and run different classes and courses weekly and monthly. They are busy actually contributing to their local community!
M. B.
Excellent food, service with safe outdoor seating.
Really great on such s lovely day as today.
Will be a regular stopping place on our walks.
M&B of Oulton

The Rivers Meet although small has lots of room inside and out for friends and family to meet up. It's an animal friendly place too. Delicious homemade foods that suits all dietary preferences are readily available. It also has a little craft shop to browse through with all sorts of products to purchase. Great place to go.
D. S.
Love this place. Great food - particularly the specials on the board. Loads of craft activities always going on, a little shop. Brilliant. As I write this a bunch of people are learning to use their sewing machines in the next room.
P. C.
Lovely atmosphere, comfortable and welcoming. Delicious freshly cooked food with plenty of veggie, vegan, and gluten free options. We'll be back! 😊
M. H.
Always friendly at this quirky cafe.
Good food and drinks served with a smile.
One of our favourites.
d. j.
Very niche place, friendly staff and clientele. Bonus to have the small rooms to the side which have different sellers in. Supporting smaller co's, certainly adds to the charm of the place. Really nice selection of food, be it coffe and/ or cake or something more substantial... would certainly recommend
L. H.
The staff are always so friendly and the food is delicious. The perfect spot for a laid back coffee and cake, breakfast or lunch.
S. P.
Real find - lovely tea room with excellent choice of menu - limited parking
S. F.
I love this place. The food is always good and the lemon drizzle cake is amazing! The shop is worth a look around for a unique treat.
C. E.
Friendly, idiosyncratic cafe with everything that you'd expect - had a light lunch (panini) and a coffee with friends. Didn't have cake but they looked good. Looks like an ideal pit-stop for anyone either walking or cycling the Trans Pennine Trail between Wakefield and Leeds. Quirky as you're unlikely to find 2 chairs that match at any of the tables, and it has a couple of craft shops linked to it as well.
V. S.
I love this place. Great food made from mostly local and fresh ingredients. Delicious home made cakes. Very reasonable prices. Friendly service.
J. C.
Delicious coffee, lovely surroundings, nice people

Quirky little cafe on outskirts if Methley. Dont expect matching tea sets, matching cutlery, bistro style furniture. What you will get is an excellent welcome, terrific food freshly made at very reasonable prices and home made cake and pies to die for. Lovely people who run this little cafe cum knick nac shop...a real treat!!
S. S.
