Came here for lunch around midday today with a young man with complex disability who I support. The staff were fantastic and helpful - explaining what was on offer and the prices, as well as engaging with the young man and asking what he would like. Very good attitude from staff! Didn't catch the lady who helped us' name but she was brilliant and helped make it a positive experience for the young man. Sandwiches were fresh and generously filled with tasty ingredients. Prices were good, helpful when you're on a lunch budget. Will definitely be stopping here again in future to try their other food.

Arranged to meet a friend here a few Mondays ago as a half way point, but the cafe is closed on a Monday and we went elsewhere so I am unable to comment. In fairness this was mentioned on the website, but my friend who had arranged this meeting hadn't spotted this! On a plus point the lady we spoke to there was very friendly and apologetic

Fabulous farm shop especially for those extra little treats as well as fresh vegetables grown on the farm. Roots provided a brilliant finger buffet for 20 people. Brought it to my home as I live locally. All home cooked and freshly prepared. It really took the stress out of everything. Well done Roots!

I get my horses feed from roots and the staff are all lovely and on hand with advice if needed. If I need anything not usually stocked they will do their best to get it in for you so great service all round. I love the farm shop it's an Aladdin's cave where you can get everything from local honey to gourmet frozen ready meals for 1 or family size! I love this place and when things go back to "normal" the cafe does a very decent cappuccino!

They've done a lot to improve this from the very basic farm shop that they [perhaps necessarily] started out with several years ago. Obviously Covid has interfered with their plans, and they have chosen to pursue a more "open air" aspect to their café seating which may not appeal to many but is something I can appreciate given the need to be responsible during the current pandemic. I suppose what I'm trying to get across is that I think they've done a sterling job at trying to expand their shop/café in as sensible and safe manner as is reasonably feasible given the incredibly difficult times that we've had recently. ...And: if you have little ones, they have some lovely farm pets (e.g. Alpacas, Wallabies and a Goat) to see ... but if you do do that, please make sure that you give them some business too. It's only fair...🤗

6 July 2020 - we popped in today to purchase fresh food and the delicious sauces that only Roots can provide. We were delighted to discover that we can now purchase takeaway coffees which we enjoyed outside in the sun! We often pop in here for unusual frozen foods as well as fresh veg. The cafe is really lovely with lots of delicious options. The grandchildren enjoy meeting the friendly goats and the beautiful Alpacas and I often buy chicken feed from their livestock feeds barn.

This is a place that has been visited by myself and my wife a few times over the years and have always found it to be a pleasure to go to, the staff here always make you feel very welcome and they're very friendly and helpful to assist with anything you are looking for. The farm shop is good with lots of different types of Organic products and other ingredients, there's a cafe in the shop so you can get breakfast lunch and a snack and I love the different types of teas especially the green tea 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿.

This is a real gem! The food in the cafe is absolutely delicious, superior quality and really reasonably priced. Plus the atmosphere is relaxed with a homely feel. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and the shop sells all sorts of goodies from everyday essentials to luxury produce such as Coquilles St-Jacques. But! That's not all. There are plenty more surprises making it an excellent location for families, couples, young and old. Animal and nature lovers will be particularly happy here xx

Very impressed! We hired the play barn for our sons party in September. It was a cold weekend so a tad cold inside, but they are installing heating soon. The hire is well worth the price. You get so much help and George was very helpful in particular. Lots do open space if you set it up right, and had plenty of tables and chairs. The hot drinks facility provided made that cold morning a little bit better, and was much appreciated. Very friendly staff all in all and definitely highly recommended.

We booked a table for 11 of us and nothing was a problem, they catered for all our needs, all our food arrived at the same time, was hot & most importantly very tasty. Santa was there on this particular day and the 3 children & us adults thought he was brilliant. We were also very impressed that they helped move things so my mum who is in a wheelchair could get to see Santa with her grandchildren. Would definitely recommend.

We had the Vintage Tea which was delicious and there was lots of it. The table was very prettily set with a table cloth and real cloth napkins not paper ones. We even had a bottle of rose lemonade each which we've never had before. We often have lunch here as it is very good quality and the coldslaw is wonderful. The staff are always very friendly and helpfuI. It's a very old building and a little draughty sometimes but that won't stop us from coming back.

Went here instead of the restaurant at work. Great place, good food and friendly staff. Food choices are varied, any will make almost anything as long as the deli counter has it. Also has great farm shop, and alpaca's and goats adjacent to the car park to watch.

My partner and I love going to Roots for a bit to eat, and to look at the animals. My favourites are the running ducks. Very cute. I have also attended mosaic courses in the old milk shed. Lucy is very talented and a good teacher. The food is delicious and especially the cake selection.

Roots is the most incredible farm shop. I've been going for over 20yrs, from a single room to what it is today. The food/drinks available are lovely and the choices are great. The staff are always extremely helpful and George & Fliss (owners) are the most friendly, caring people and will do everything to cater to your needs/requirements.I highly recommend Roots Farmshop
