We visited Formby beach as a family with our puppy and we’re looking for a dog friendly cafe to grab a late lunch. My son found the Harington online and we made the short walk. What a find! The service was exceptional; we were made to feel really welcome by the owner and the local clientele. The food was delicious; home made, freshly cooked and just right for two “starving” teenagers. It was also fantastic value for money for the standard of food on offer. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who visits Formby and we will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

Wonderful fresh tasty food, cakes wow! Drinking chocolate like I've never tasted before! We've been more than once, so, dine in and take out, also different tabs. Everything always perfect 👌 going again today 👏👏

Popped in last week on day trip from Birmingham to Formby. Ideally situated between train station and beach. Friendly staff and excellent service. Got sandwiches and cake and took down to the beach with us. They were perfect! Lovely fresh ingredients. Cake was soooo good. Highly recommended.

Myself and daughter had a very late lunch on Sunday, less than an hour until closing! We had a lovely welcome, as though we were the first of the day. My daughter has additional needs and I always worry how others respond to her. I needn’t have worried, the owners were wonderful and understanding, a breath of fresh air; she was even given cake when we left. Inside is beautiful, I felt really comfortable. We chose hot sandwiches from the menu, our request for a little ‘tweaking’ for my daughter was happily done and other options not on the menu were offered. The food was fresh and delicious. The Harrington is a little hidden gem in Formby. We’ll be back 😀 xx

Just visited with my friend and our two dogs. We are regular customers and always made to feel very welcome by friendly and caring staff. A lovely atmosphere awaits you when you visit this cafe which offers delicious coffee and gorgeous cakes.

I live in Formby and this is definitely the place to go if you love coffee and quality food. The Harington is also dog friendly. We have two well behaved dogs who are always well received. The owners are lovely as well - their place is their passion and that feeling us shared with customers. Definitely worth a visit.

We had this venue for my daughters 40th , they did everything they could to make it a special evening, the food was just amazing. Could not recommend them highly enough, either for a coffee or to hire for a function

Popped in on Saturday afternoon after a visit to the beach. Very welcoming and friendly to both me and the wife along with our dog. Nothing was a problem and only happy to give you the service you wish everybody gave. Pizza was amazing best I’ve had in months and just all round superb small family run business. Keep it up!!

18/10/2021. Return visit today as enjoyed good lunch previously. Ordered coffee and fruit toast. Coffee and service very good. Fruit toast however very poor. For £2:95, two tiny thin slices of poor ‘supermarket’ type sultana loaf was measly. Superior quality at Starbucks for a pound less.

We had a great Meze evening on Friday. Our choice of 5 sharing dishes and a cucumber dip with breads for starters was a plentiful meal for 2. The atmosphere was just right and the friendly servers were efficient and helpful. Good choice of drinks too! We’ll definitely be back.

What can say , taste buds died and went to heaven ,was at a private function and had the choice of chicken and sweetcorn soup or vegetable curry, i had curry which came with small dishes of mango chutney, creme fresh andchopped tomatoes with onion a d a small nann bread .there were cake for afters and they were yumyum. The decor here is first class and really up to date

Lovely little cafe. Would highly recommend. Owners are extremely welcoming and so accommodating. They're perfectly compliant with covid safety conditions. The atmosphere is lovely. My partner and I loved our coffee here and will definitely be back for the delicious looking cakes and food. So glad to hear they'll be doing take out for this lockdown period.

Great staff who suggested a wonderful salad when the Mediterranean tapas boxes had sold out. The food is freshly made to your specifications and was beautiful to eat on the dunes at Formby. Social distancing was obvious but not intrusive. Highly recommended.

I am visiting family in Formby and have popped into this lovely coffee shop several times over the last week for coffee , cakes and a sandwich lunch. The lemon drizzle cake is a real highlight. It is a truly dog friendly cafe. My dog Dotty,sampled the good girl biscuit and her cousin Noodle had the pupcake. They woofed them down. I'll definitely come again when I'm next in Formby.

Lovely spot after a day at the beach. The owners are lovely and the food is delicious. Highly recommend the blue cheese and walnut sandwich which was packed full with filling and the brownies are delicious! 100% would recommend!

A peaceful and warm cafe not far from the beach and woodland. Very welcoming of dogs and even have food and ice cream that is made specifically for them. Their food is amazing and the staff are incredibly friendly. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Now i like cake, im not going to lie, i like sponge cake, this place has it in abundance and im not afraid to say it, i suggest a cakeboard, a bit like a cheeseboard but with cake, that way i can have more cake for my visit, ill be back and looking forward to the cakeboard
