Reviews of Arlo & Moe HG
J. A. T.
Took our parents here for breakfast and my mum was so impressed she wanted to buy a jar of kimchi. Sadly not allowed on her flight. Portions are sizeable given the very affordable prices. Good coffee and service too. Lovely spot and so close to home! Happy customer 🙂
M. L.
We have gone here nearly every week since it opened and have always had a great experience. The owner is a good laugh and the sandwiches and soups are always excellent.
J. P.
The food was good in quality and served with a thoughtful intention. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the service is really nice. The front house people are very friendly as the chef. It is definitely nice and warm to scape from the cold weather. Lots of mums visit the Cafe as is child friendly. Very close to Hither Green Train Station (Platform 1). There is internet and apparently it works quite smooth (Double Check) but seems like a nice place for a coffee meanwhile you are working online.

Lovely cafe - consistently great coffee, great service, great cosy atmosphere! Also - the best French toast I've ever had!
B. N.
The coffee is very good and the sandwiches are nice. Today I had a Spanish tortilla (with added ingredients, so not for the traditionalists) and it was very tasty and filling. Thanks for a lovely quick lunch!

Not to far from my house so have been here a couple of times.
Coffee is a bit on the weak side so make sure you get an extra shot.
Standard pastries on offer but the food menu looks interesting.

My daughter lives around the corner, and we go to Arlo and Moe whenever I visit. Great staff, the French toast is a must, and I love the scrambled egg and mushrooms on sourdough. Coffee is a bit strong for me (I had the latte) but I am not a coffee connoisseur. Will see you soon.
O. R.
Possibly the best coffee; the beans used are different from other cafes. You can literally taste the difference.
Only downside is that an extra shot is expensive compared to cafe chains. Very expensive.

Spent lots of time here over the last few years. Staff are always lovely and it’s genuinely some of the best coffee you’ll get in SE London. Food is fantastic, particularly the house Kimchi!
T. E.
Great little cafe with extra outdoor seating at the back. Gorgeous sandwiches and lovely things on toast!
R. N.
Absolutely love this little gem of a coffee and food spot in our quiet and relaxed neighbourhood. Great for a visit with all the family (super dog friendly) or just as a spot to pick up a great oatmilk coffee before you hop on the train into central London.
Tasty 'Sexy' toasts and yummy fresh quieche and soups, all great portions for hungry bellies. Plus cute outside seating for sunny days.

I came here a minimum 3 times a week during my mat leave and absolutely love it. The chocolate and Guinness cake is phenomenal, the coffee is good, the beer is nice & well-priced, and the avocado/feta/chorizo on toasted sourdough is ace. The staff are lovely too. An absolute must go when visiting Hither Green x

Fantastic and Cosy place serving great food and the most amazing Chocolate Guinness cake. Great coffee also! Child/buggy friendly. So lucky to have this place around the corner!
R. H.
Lovely local spot! Really nice food - cinnamon honey cream cheese toast was wonderful and the scrambled egg and chorizo toast was piled high!
A. M.
Great coffee latte and amazing breakfast! The staff is lovely and you never have to wait! The decor is adorable and it's right in front of the station which makes it so accessible and cool for coffee before work or breakfast on weekends! I love this place and recommend it for teatime and any other time !
K. L.
Very nice place with lovely brunches.
Prices are above average but the food is great, good size portions. I'd recommend scrambled eggs with salmon or with chorizo and Guinness chocolate cake. There is a baby changing room, the place is bf friendly. You can park on pay and display on the street.
And they also do Vietnamese kitchen on Thursday-Saturday evenings.
T. K.
Cosy little cafe, very quiet which goes down well with the homeworkers/students and their laptops. Not much competition in the vicinity so probably gets away with having a more limited menu than similar places, wanted a sweet pastry but they only had some savouries, or cakes. Brownie was nonetheless very fresh and tasty. Prices are typical.
H. B. M.
Lovely little cafe. I love the Guinness cake. Friendly service with a smile. Get a regular as opposed to large coffee if you prefer it strong. A bit on the pricey side but won't disappoint your tastebuds. The owner makes his own sausage rolls from scratch so give them a go too. Bon appetit.
E. M.
It's excellent and thankfully just like the one on Lee High Road that recently closed. Good tea and coffee, tasty and healthy hot lunches (normally at least a soup option and a frittata-and-salad option) and some cold food options I'm yet to try. For less healthy food, the cakes are great too, with the chocolate Guinness cake being a personal favourite!!
N. D.
Quirky cafe, they also sell bread, eggs and other everyday groceries
I regularly crave the Avocado feta with chorizo on toast (very generous portions!)
Guiness cake is a must too!!
L. B.
Guinness cake is dope and the coffee is really nice. Only one allowed in at a time so maybe a queue is to be expected.
I. Q.
Their French Toast with berries and scrambled eggs is amazing! The food is usually good but avoid the pastry (savoury or sweet) as they have those delivered and the quality is not on par with their shop-made food.
Family and pet friendly!
L. P.
Nice enough coffee and cake, but my absolute favourite is the French Toast with Berries and Eggs. The scrambled eggs were superb. The service needs some improvement - my husband's dish came out 10 minutes before mine, so we both ate separately which somewhat defeats the point of going out for breakfast together.
P. P.
Quiet gem in the area. Decent coffee. Polite staff. Not a lot of negatives. Their opening hours are short and sweet.
B. V.
Very popular with local yummy mummies and families, which can lead to it being full of screaming small people at certain times. Good, although not always excellent quality coffee. Dark fluid beans, but not all baristas are equally as good. (With jam and bread have more reliable baristas).
Tasty, home baked offerings for savouries and cakes, including sausage rolls, frittata tortillas and salads. Good range of teas and soft drinks.
Slightly expensive.
Limited disabled access (single step in, to outside area and toilets)
Opposite side exit from Hither Green Station, on a quiet side road.
Limited cycle facilities (can lock to a nearby tree).
S. T.
I love this place. Warm and cosy. friendly staff and healthy, hearty portion sizes. Free wifi and good coffee too! I go at least once a week. If you go I can highly recommend the Lebanese soup or the smashed advocado on doorstep sized slices of sourdough toast. If you have it for breakfast you definately won't need lunch!. All the cakes are home made and yummy so make sure you grab one to go while your there.
S. R.
They have the best chocolate and Guinness cake. Definitely recommend a visit and the staff are lovely and friendly.
L. B.
Loved it. First time visit for lunch. Great food, hospitality and atmosphere. Definitely will go back.👍😀
M. V. H.
Pricey but real quality. The decor is adorable, fifties retro and the menu is delightful. A weekend treat so local is amazing. Try the berry French toast - indulgent and light whilst filling (I know right!). Avocado toast with chorizzo equally yummy. Once a while I give in to the scrumptious Guiness chocolate cake extravagance. Try it.
J. C.
Helpful friendly staff. Had avocado/feta/chorizo on toast. Very tasty and freshly made. Waiting time was quite short as well. All in all a lovely lunchtime experience.
L. C.
Great warm friendly atmosphere. Great coffee.
O. J.
Great coffee, and an very enjoyable brunch
K. C. M.
The loveliest staff. The yummiest food. The most generous of portions. The coolest interior. Love this cafe and so glad it's our local.
E. R. V.
Good coffee, good food - very generous portions. Friendly staff. Outside seating too for the warmer months.
I. W.
Great service today by charming young Dutch Lady - hopefully she will stay post Brexit!
Amazing Avacodo/Feta Sexy Toast with chorizo. Great coffee too
S. H.
Great little cafe. I had a salmon and asparagus quiche which came with salad. It was lovely and a decent sized portion too!
T. P.
I have been to Arlo & Moe many times over the past 2 years and it such a pleasure to note that quality remains the same: simply perfect at a great price. Kudos for the Sexy Toast Avocado/Feta/Chorizo combo.
E. R. S.
Lovely coffee, great food and nice staff. Well worth a visit if you have some time for a relaxing caffeine fuelled reflection.
T. F.
Great little cafe with friendly service, decent coffee and heart-warming food. The pop-ups are a massive hit with the local area too.
W. C.
Bun bao is more expensive than Michelin Star restaurant, obviously doesn't taste as good. Took very long time to serve order. Most of the dish doesn't require cooking skill. Don't think I will revisit.
E. O.
Lovely local cafe. Good community atmosphere. Good coffee, lovely food. Arlo and Mo are a definite positive addition to the area.
R. S.
Great little family cafe. Food is excellent. Only negative I would say is that it's pretty expensive... Apart from that, service good and location is great for us. Thank you!
C. N.
Nice little cafe with a garden serving excellent coffee and good food. However very expensive poor range of breakfast items and service can be very slow.
S. B.
Have had lunch here few times now and it is so good. Variations are little bit different to the norm and cakes are gorgeous
D. L.

Coffee was lovely but took ages to the served even after they got the order wrong... The staff were very nice though.
R. P.
Great food, coffee is a bit on the weak side. Always a comfortable place to go and watch the commuters rush by.
A. S.

R. L.
Fantastic healthy cafe food & drinks. Friendly staff and chilled atmosphere. Very welcome addition to Hither Green area! 😊
A. L. G. P.
Amazing coffee shop! Delicious savoury food, original cakes, beautifully decorated and very friendly.
K. S.
I never feel welcomed by the staff food is pricey not many people can afford £6.20 for a sandwich so when i take my hard earned money to purchase said sandwich a smile and welcoming attitude is a must
J. H.
Lovely breakfasts but the cafe is quite small and can fill up quickly on weekends!
J. S. R.
Lovely ambiance, friendly staff and a level of background music that's loud enough to set a mood while quiet enough for you to hear yourself think. Wish it opened for slightly longer hours!
P. P.
Amazing food, and very chilled atmosphere if you need to do some work. Has an outdoor area as well.
K. H. w.

D. B. T.
My favourite place in Hether Green. Lovely place to meet up with friends for a brunch over the weekend.
D. A.
Food is good and staff friendly but space is scarce and it’s always poorly ventilated due to open access to kitchen which makes it very stuffy sometimes.
T. N.
