Reviews of Arlo & Moe
H. F.
Lovely atmosphere and the food is amazing. Very generous portions which I love. Great local place!
A. E.
As you come out of Crofton Park Railway Station look over the road to the right & you should see the big tables of Arlo & Moe within easy eyesight. Good staff, Good Service, Good Food, there are tables inside too, warm & comfortable. A destination cafę, also on bus routes 122, 171 & 172 well worth a visit too.
A. B.
Food portions are so generous, excellent coffee and chai latte, nice buzz, children friendly, friendly staff. Outside and inside seating turns over quickly and in demand.
D. M.
Lovely food in a relaxed atmosphere. Dog friendly 😀
C. D.
Nice little spot, but was let down by the size of the bacon bun (£5) - would need two just to register 😂 , it had two tiny rashers, a third slice was added as a replacement for the scrambled egg. Coffee was tasty, but went cold instantly.

Happy to know this local cafe! Great coffee and decent home made cake. Perfect Music&Service! Thank you for giving me the free pastry💖
S. H.
Great little place to find on a sunny day. Had coffee and cake outside. Lovely!

I liked the here. I liked that tarts here. Great coffee and decent home made food. Not a panini in sight. Nice music too. Popular with nice cyclists! I think I’ll visit here again. I liked samosas with spinach. when I was here, it was dynamic. Again I'll say this is a successful place
S. D.
Excellent cafe with brilliant owner. Xx Cleo (my granddaughter loves it. )

Great menu, especially for breakfast. Fantastic coffee (even the decaf ;)) very relaxed vibe, lovely staff. Cool place to chill or do some creative work. Highly recommend. I walk 25 mins to get here because it’s so good!

Lively/ popular cafe. Great food, great coffee. Lovely people... If the owner spills your coffee it means your breakfast will taste EVEN better. She did... It did..thank you!!
M. L.
It's staff are friendly, very sweet. I liked the tables outside, a lovely place to sit and read the paper, enjoy your snack, without being pushed to move on. However!!! The prices.... I stopped by as a support worker, with a client who needed a timeout. The prices, for 2 drinks and pastries for 2, £11.50? This felt like central London. Quirky, cute, yes, but the prices need adjusting. It's Lewisham, not Leicester Square!!! Still- loved my £2.40 croissant.
B. M.
Nice staff, great coffee, lovely food, music often excellent, wish it were open until at least 5pm and that it was a little cheaper but overheads I guess. Hopefully the staff are paid well...

I'm so glad this is my local coffee shop. Mushrooms on toast is my absolute favourite and perfect for a Saturday morning!
P. R.
Very nice local cafe. Good food and very popular

Have been here a few times for breakfast and brunch with a friend who lives locally. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed and they're child friendly too. The food is pretty good and reasonably priced, particularly the various sweet and savoury versions of the 'Sexy Toast' (the creamy mushrooms with garlic and herbs being my favourite). The servers are easygoing and there's no pushing you to order or to leave once you've finished eating, allowing for as leisurely a stay as you desire. Great place for a catch up!
M. H.
Great customer service. I visited here many times and they serve a good coffee blend. Staff are lovely. I'll miss dropping by in future now I've moved.
S. M.
Good coffee and food with generous portions - we had avocado and feta on sourdough with some lovely smoky chorizo, and French toast with honey and fruit - all delicious! Nice friendly service too.
M. W.
A nice space to sit and do work for a while. There's not loads of space so you might be lucky to get a seat, or you can share with strangers. The coffee is good and there's a good assortment of home made food on offer.
M. B.
I love this cafe. The coffee is terrific — few places in London make a proper espresso like you'll get here. They also have lovely sourdough bread, homemade soups and stews, and cakes — don't leave without trying the chocolate & guinness cake (with sour cream frosting), it's seriously good. I'm surprised to read complaints from a few other reviewers about service — I've always found the staff to be friendly and courteous, and the atmosphere warm. I suppose nothing motivates people to get online and leave a review like a bad experience — I've been coming here for years in a consistent state of bliss without thinking to leave a review until now.

Gorgeous coffee and lovely atmosphere!! Service was v friendly, the young guy that served us was so welcoming and just generally really enhanced the whole experience :)
T. A.
Lovely cafe with great food and really nice staff. The scrambled eggs are banging, and their coffee is really good too. Definitely the best breakfast in the area

This is quite a new addition to the Brockley cafe scene. It opened this year and filled a gap in the high street. We have always been made to feel very welcome and every one serving is of good cheer. The coffee is very good and the pastries fresh and good quality. They specialise in scrambled egg and it comes in a range of guises. We have never been disappointed with the food or drinks, highly recommended, especially for breakfast.
M. N.
A great local find! The A&M crew are friendly and do a good cup of coffee, great to have before jumping on the train on the increasingly dark winter mornings. A simple but very tasty range of dishes on offer as well - lunchtime sausage roll with two kinds of salad is a winner from me. May have to check out their supper club next...
D. T.
The scrambled eggs and chorizo is amazing and a good option. They also do sandwiches, cake and coffee as well as other dishes, there is outside seating which catches the sun to the front. It's not big so if you want to get a seat get there earlier or be prepared to hang around until someone else clears out.
A. W.
Nice place to have brunch. The "sexy toast" is pretty good.
A. F.
Reasonable coffee, nice food and atmosphere. Service very slow for takeaway in a morning though, waiting over 10 mins for a latte with only 1 other customer in cafe - had to leave without the coffee. Do not advise if you need to catch a train.
J.
Great little cafe, friendly staff, lovely food and great coffee. My fave are the lebanese beans with chorizo (with massive wedges of buttered sourdough bread) and their french toast. Laid back atmosphere with music to match the mood.
R. M.
Best coffee in Crofton park - great scrambled eggs
m. c.
Paid £5.20 for a small pastry and an even smaller take away cappuccino. Pastry was ok - teeny weeny coffee was a rip off. Makes Starbucks seem like great value. Place looks cool and was excited to try out but feel ripped.
H. T.
Always a pleasure, the most delicious Moroccan mint tea, and lemon aid is so fresh, and the toast offerings are generous, but it's hard to decide between avocado feta and chorizo or mushrooms, and the soup specials are always interesting and decent portions. They're also very accommodating with kids and mothers, and a feeding friendly spot which I appreciated knowing when my daughter was small.
Z. P.
I so wanted to love Arlo and Moe... and how could I not with the wonderful signage, sweet Formica tables and colourful prints on the wall? On both visits, the food was brilliant - beans on thick sourdough toast, the next an avocado sandwich. Then there's the service... it's not bad, it's not unpleasant, it's just not that friendly. I made the mistake of asking for a menu and got stared at before made to feel like a moron for not realising there was one. I got no eye contact on paying my bill. No general pleasantries that I've come to expect with a nice little local place. Now it could be the I've come on off days (I really hope so) but it'll be a while before I'll try this again.
S. D.
Friendly staff, a nice cuppa in a pot and a very tasty sandwich the size of my head (chicken and avocado on rye). Will visit again.
Also, just across the road from Crofton Books!
B. N.
Good coffee, great vegetarian options if that's your thing. Lovely generous portions
D. F.
Wonderful food, a wonderful ambience all around, and fantastic staff, the staff member who really caught my eye was that James i think he was called (the lad with the luxurious locks which were dyed blonde )
M. H.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice teas and coffee. Enjoyed a very tasty home made sausage roll as well. Nice place to relax and enjoy a quiet cuppa
M. V. H.
£7 for avocado on toast? £4 for a veggie sausage roll? So....a quick takeaway coffee & pastry for the journey will set you back nearly £7! At the back (wrong exit) end of Hither Green station?
I really really want to give them 5 stars and wished that they would be a roaring success because the area sorely needs some good businesses to grow. However, my jaw dropped at the outrageous prices. Much as I wish this was Hampstead, its not (yet? haha!). I will eat my beanie with joy if this business survives - but it will definitely not be through my regular patronage.
PS, I had a a takeaway black coffee (£2.50) and it was okay. I drink mine unadulterated, so average coffee beans can't hide behind froth or sugar.
The Guinness cake looked delicious. Decor looks great. If you don't care about splashing cash, it looks like a lovely place to go.
T.
Ok small cafe, bit pricey for toast, eggs and Avocado. My eggs were under cooked despite asking for it to be well done twice! Wouldn't go again.
n. p.
Arlo & Moe could easily be one of the best cafes in area if they brushed up on their service and got themselves a unique dish/drink that would make it worthwhile making a special trip for. Coffee is ok, food is ok and service is on the verge of ok (if you don't like the customers then just pretend!). Other than that it's a great looking shop in a very handy location.
A. D.
Staff here are lovely, the food and coffee is great but the guinness cake is something else. Worth a visit for that alone
S. R.
Always busy, Arloe and Moes has been around for a few years now and has made its mark in Crofton Park. Wonderful tasty food and nice coffee. Great staff and a great place to go for lunch. If you can get a seat
T. r. D. l.
The best beans on toast in the business 😋
F. C.
Great cafe. Excellent scrambled eggs which is a good test of a cafe!
D. B.
Great coffee and a nice atmosphere. Friendly staff and delicious 'sexy toast' make this an ideal place for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
N. M. A.
I came here on a Saturday morning at around 9:15 I greeted with a friendly smile and a good morning, the staff are lovely, loved the food that was showcased on the menu and I loved how much of a lovely relaxed environment it was. Also love the quirky cutlery!
C. O.
Arlo & Moe has a little way to go before it can be described as a great place to sit and have coffee. It suffers from lack of space which affects the ambience of the place. Coffee is OK but not the best in Brockley and the cake competition shouldn't feel too threatened by their offerings.
T.
I feel sad that it's taken us this long to visit. Great food- REALLY tasty and reasonably priced. Serving Dark Fluid coffee. Lovely service. Love it! ☕
V. H.
The best coffee in the area, and the food is great and generously portioned. However it's also the most expensive coffee in the area, and difficult to get a seat after school drop off and at lunch times.
M. B.
Great coffee and decent home made food. Not a panini in sight. Cool music too. Popular with nice cyclists!
E. D. B.
Arlo & Moe are a great addition to Crofton Park - the coffee is lovely, and if you're popping in for brunch or just a slice of cake, you won't be disappointed. The 'sexy toast' is to-die for.
B. M.
Eggs and Chorizo on sourdough was really tasty. They also had oat milk as an alternative to Soya and Almond which is always an extra tick for me.
S. B.
Coffee was good but had to chase my order - staff more interested in chatting and playing with their playlists than serving customers.
D. V.
Ok place.
Nice restaurante with tables outside and good windows.
Food was ok, although service could not cope with all the clients and so all tables were dirty and one of our toast was cold.
Average i would say
A. M.
Chilled out local cafe with healthy lunch options, ambient vibe + good coffee (above the average, mine was a tasty de-caf) and cake! Order at the bar.
T. F.
Good coffee and vibes. I didn't try the food but looks great, a perfect place to catch up with friends and not too expensive.
L. K.
Lovely café, does great 'things on toast', and lovely coffee. Only gripe is that they get so busy at the weekend!
R. N.
Excellent iced coffee and brownie!
B. P.
Lovely food in a cozy, characterful café. The staff are friendly and happy to help and the food is brilliant with a homemade charm.
A. F.
The Best Breakfast in the area! Although we have moved to Marylebone now we keep coming back every now and again. Highly recommended.
D. a. S. P.
Nice food selection and good coffee, great cafe to call in on.
S. S.
Decent indie coffee shop but insanely busy - they have another offshoot in hither green that might be preferable.
P. G.
Great food and great coffee been there twice in a week and will be back again soon!
