We stumbled upon this little gem while perusing the streets of London. Is it fancy? No it’s not but that’s exactly what is great about it! The meal was cheap, fast, and delicious and the staff was warm and welcoming. And you know what else? Of all the fancy tea on buses and at big hotels that we had during our stay, this cup of perfectly brewed tea from the tap was probably my favorite. Perfect flavor! Great find this place, and the prices were unbeatable too

Because its always busy the food is fresh especially the all day breakfast. I once ordered spaghetti bolognes. & said could I have cheese with it. Meaning parmigiano. Which they brought in a bowl . But when they brought the spaghetti out they had melted cheddar on it. Which was to much and ruined it. But the service is very good & the price s is good for central London.

Honest and down to earth. Comfort food in astral puts a smile on my face, especially on a tough day at work. While your cholesterol levels may suffer, your morale is sometimes more important. Fantastic service too. Highly recommended.

Absolutely wonderful food! Came into the area to get a traditional English breakfast from Regency Cafe, and were dissuaded by the long line. Took a walk down the street to find the Astral, and it was the best decision we ever made! The prices were completely reasonable, the proportions were large and filling, and the food was just what we needed to start a great day in London! Highly recommend.

By reading reviews on internet, I decided to visit Regency Caffe to have English breakfast, however didn’t want to wait huge queue. Went out to look for something else. Only few metres away I saw another caffe - Astral Caffe, so I decided to check. There were not too many people inside and price was cheaper than Regency. Please note, that Astral doesn’t have nice view from the window or super modern furniture inside. However price, good food and service would totally satisfy you if those are things you are looking for. Big cup of coffee, toasts and main breakfast plate. I was full until the evening:)

Excellent food quality and the portions are huge. 2 people can have a portion of the spaghetti bolognese and it will fill them up. We go to have lunch in this cafe few times a week. Awesome place. You should check it out. Card and cash payment. So convenient for all.

Highly recommend! Cheap prices, really good food, awesome portions!! Staff is friendly, however, eggs for breakfast are only served one way - over easy. I happened to like them, but my wife doesn’t and they won’t/can’t do scrambled eggs. Their toast is awesome!! Seems like most of the cab drivers in the area stop to eat here, so if they like it you know it has to be good!

Great little Cafe, good price for food considering the area which it is located. Service staff are a little moody and rude,speaks as if the customer is not welcoming. I would recommend service training for the watering staff or just don't use people that don't want to work in front of house. I do recommend as the food is cooked fresh and the meat on breakfast is good quality. The breakfast is not greasy and worth the money. The coffee that is offered with the breakfast not the best, tastes like powdered coffee. I do recommend this Cafe if your looking for a good quality breakfast.

Lovely quick stop over for some scoff. Filling, well priced and a good old fashioned cage atmosphere. Really popular for a takeaway, seating inside is limited but we managed to get a seat at lunchtime without any fuss.

You literally get a lot for your money, low priced super huge portions. Though do not expect too much. We've had OKish pasta but it was a bit flavourless. We've had one dish with a fried chicken fillet but it tasted a bit like the ready to eat fried chicken fillets one can buy in the supermarket. Waitress was a bit unfriendly at the beginning but became friendly after some time and chatted with us.

The endless stream of Cabbies passing through their doors says it all. The Astral combines great simple food (with an Italian slant) at very reasonable prices. There are some tables at the back so you can eat in if you have time.

Amazing indie place with background retro rock and real Londoners, relaxing tones of both Mediterranean accents and familiar dulcets of footie-loving down-the-liners, as well as warmly welcoming weekday commuters and tourists. So what's not to like? Nihil, nowt, nuffink! All ace! Triple first, hattrick, three cheers!
