Reviews of Cafe de Fred
What a wonderful cafe I stumbled upon to escape the wind and rain. Coming from America I had no idea what a Full Monty or English breakfast was, or a builders tea! Tried to order a coffee but was told I MUST have a tea so I followed orders from the wise gentlemen in the shop.
Could not have been happier and more full. The food was DYNAMITE! Nice to see great prices too where a lot of shops charge an arm and a leg. Spoke with the owner Fred for about 20 minutes on locations around London to visit and what a pleasure it was to meet him. He gave me some INCREDIBLE recommendations that I will be taking my girlfriend to on the rest of my trip.
The entire experience was a highlight and I can’t wait to get back to Earls Court stop to visit him again! 5 stars isn’t enough!
Friendly place with nice atmosphere. The coffee and juice were decent. The baguette was reasonable, could have been a little tastier. Really a four and half stars. But certainly a good place for lunch and snacks
Untypical for Ken. High Street .... casual , cafe' menu , personal service , relaxed place to visit and spend a bit of time. Try it.
We're not from the area but came for breakfast very friendly and great food. I would highly recommend
Really enjoyed my experience at Cafe de Fred! I found this place when I was walking towards High street Ken and noticed that they had a full English breakfast on the menu. So the next day, I went in and had a very tasty veggie breakfast. Plus the owner was just a sweetie!
Lovely little place,Look forward visiting again soon :)
Good food and service. Nice affordable lunch in London.
Firstly - July 21 and the staff are not wearing masks - either to prepare or serve the food - and this is a tiny cafe.
But very friendly and good service.
Full English OK - although bacon slightly odd (smoked and looks reconstituted - completely flat and almost oblong shaped) and the hash browns were soggy.
Ask if you want a liquid yolk on the fried egg, their default is to serve it squashed flat and fully cooked.
Had the full English breakfast. It was great.
Very friendly place and breakfast is worth every penny.
Not a bad breakfast at all.recomend
A lovely cafe which has a good selection of veggie options. The coffee was really great too! Fred the owner was also very polite and friendly - would definitely come again!
Not expansive, good food, and the boss is very sympatical.
My husband and I adore this place! We stayed in London for a week and ate at Cafe De Fred every morning! We could not get enough of their lattes, eggs benedict, and raspberry tarts with custard. I tried something new on the menu every morning and was never disappointed. This place offers a true cafe experience. We could not image our vacation without this little gem. We also loved the staff. Fred greeted us every day with a warm smile and old fashion charm. Due to location issues with our last hotel, we were too far away to visit Cafe De Fred before our flight back. We regretted not saying goodbye and eating there one last time. But hey, the place alone warrants an excuse to go back!
I really recommend this place for an amazing English breakfast. The food was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was welcoming and the owner was very friendly. Thank you ❤️
The excellent ratings for this cafe are somewhat ludicrous, despite its laudable name! It may well offer superb meatballs (see previous reviews) - I can't say - but really it's just a greasy spoon and, it should be noted, a pricey one at that.
Delicious food and very friendly atmosphere.
Fred runs a great little Cafe . He's always friendly and welcoming and he always has something I like on the menu. My fave is Linguine and Meatballs and I never have to wait very long. His chef Judith is very able and serves meals with a smile.
Had a Vegan breakfast ah it was delightful and met the owner who was very kind and friendly. Recommending this cute little cafe with five stars! ❤️
Very nice cafe, this is my favourite cafe. I had the tasty vegetarian breakfast. Cafe de Fred has delicious galettes, which are gluten free. This cafe had a splendid refurb, new mirrors, books for the customer to read there. Outside tables. Near The Design Museum, and the south entrance to Holland Park.
Loved it! Very welcoming staff. Had a perfect english breakfast. Would recomend to anyone who wants great morning treat :)
What an extraordinary place. Looks like a cozy, classic cafe with comfortable seats and varnished tables. Fred's usually behind the counter, getting to work at 5:30 in the morning, and staying until closing at 5pm.
It's a comfortable, casual place to hang out. No pressure, free WiFi, outlets near the seats, and a calm environment away from the craziness of Kensington High Street.
Highly recommended! Café de Fred is your solution to the cookie cutter coffee chains that litter the city. Fred makes his food (jacket potatoes, lemon tarts, etc.) with care and love. Perfect place to spend a quiet afternoon reading or working.
Ate there yesterday…Greeted by the sweetest man 😊 A good selection on the menu at very good prices! Food prepared fresh and quick! Lovely and clean throughout. Would definitely recommend. Two BIG thumbs up!
Carys, me and the Bear discovered this little gem by accident and it made our day. Fred and Manu made us very welcome and the "true cafe" atmosphere a delightful oasis. The best coffee we've had in London and Fred's Apple Tart a taste a pure heaven! Thank you both x
Only found Freds' last summer and now try and get in there at least once a fortnight as I'm not local. Food is amazing especially the meatballs and also the individual apple tarts. Very friendly place and lovely staff.
Lovely place. Quiet and with nice breakfast options. Well worth it if you're around for a simple and light or full, heavy breakfast.
Fred catered for a large group of us that turned up out of the blue with a warm friendly and helpful attitude. Lovely food which all turned up, perfectly cooked at the same time...a marvel of the morning seen age...please do look Fred up if you are in the area.
Love these guys. I are very friendly and prepare good food. Chapeau !
Brilliant food reasonable prices comfortable seating highly recommend
Decent cafe, quiet which was perfect, the food was OK, but the owner Fred was wonderful, looking forward to coming back with friends ✊🏿
A great cafe! Fred is very friendly and the food is great. An added bonus was I got to practice my French.
Been here a couple times now. Has the best service I have ever experienced and delicious food. I definitely recommend this cafe to all!
A delightful no-frills coffee shop. The owner is energetic and friendly and the service is timely. I recommend stopping in!
Popped into Fred's just now as I was waiting to work nearby and I was glad I did! A very friendly welcome then a lovely veggie breakfast. Sensible prices. Will definitely be back.
Lovely little cafe offering excellent breakfast. Orange juice was amazing.
Very friendly had vegetarian breakfast price standard for London would use again
Really good, honest. Clean food. Exceptional service and spotlessly clean. A really lovely cafe.
Cafe de Fred is an informal place with good hospitality and a varied menu of good food at a reasonable price homecooked on the premises
The vanilla cheesecake is a must have.
breakfast was gorgeous and the service was brilliant
Good service and atmosphere but the food could improve. But still a great Café
Great food. Daily special on offer. Had a lovely curry
Amazing breakfast and an authentic atmosphere, and Fred is a legend!
The food is all home cooked and really tasty

Best breakfast in the area and very friendly
I enjoyed this little place so much. The gentleman was very nice and the atmosphere cozy. I had a slice of carrot cake and a latte. Both were a treat! Will definitely be going back.
Great food and wonderful service!
Lovely simple coffee.
Great food, excellent serving.
Nice staff, food amszing
Friendly,
Sausages could be better
Great breakfast
It doesn't look like much but we are well settled there, well received, and we eat very well for very reasonable prices. I tried a jacket potato (is that right?) for the first time, not disappointed, simple, fresh and effective 😌 The boss invites us to try the English breakfast Monty, we promised we would come back! We will try 😄
Visit made 2 years ago, great coffee, the boss is very nice, speaks French, very good coffee/croissant breakfast, I hope to come back... one day...
A good place to stop for a lunch break. Very warm welcome, the manager is very kind and speaks French well. We had promised to come back during our stay but we didn't have the chance.
The two French sisters from Lyon.
Small breakfast place with terrific coffee, tea and Full Monty English Breakfasts - potatoes, toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, baked beans, mushrooms & tomatoes. But real star of this gem is owner/host Fred. So nice, happy and helpful. Great guy and awesome place!
My base when I'm at the NH Hotel. Very friendly owner, excellent breakfast which settles the stomach well before setting off on the London adventure. Real fresh fruit juices made in a centrifuge. A little corner of happiness in this village-like neighborhood.
Warm and relaxed welcome.
Delicious English breakfast. Don’t hesitate to try the Jackets potatoes. Fred is extremely friendly ☺ So don't hesitate any longer.
The staff was very friendly, the English breakfast exquisite. The only downside was the coffee was very watered down (like almost everywhere in London.)
I am French and I am demanding on croissants very good quality excellent baguette very good little dishes very welcoming I recommend
Very warm place, very good French and English breakfast, owner very attentive to his customers, I recommend
(Translated) Small local family environment. Good coffee and friendly and close treatment. Highly recommended

Pequeño local de ambiente familiar. Buen café y trato amable y cercano. Muy recomendable.
(Translated) Very kind manager and hearty breakfast and at an honest price
(Original)
Il gestore gentilissimo e la colazione abbondante e a un prezzo onesto
Felt like a genuine cafe. Good tea and coffee at a decent price, friendly staff.
To be honest, that was amazing. The full English breakfast was so good, I ordered it twice and same treatment for the dessert. The coffee was really good too. A lot of choice. Don't hesitate, just try it.
Great food and service. Had a delicious jacket potato with beans and cheese. Fred was lovely and v helpful. Food was very affordable.
Perfectly pleasant cafe but I felt £10.55 for an English cooked breakfast with buttered toast and a cup of tea was on the expensive side, especially as the bacon appeared not to be from a pig (turkey or vegetarian perhaps?) and the yolks of the fried eggs were hard.
