Reviews of Dark Habit
D. L.
Quite simply the best quality coffee I have ever found in London. I’ve been coming here for over 4 years, nearly every day, and am consistently delighted by my morning brew. These guys are experts and most days, they throw in a bit of good chat too!
S. M.
Excellent coffee, just the high quality you'd expect from an indie coffee shop. I would never waste my money in a chain shop which is also probably owned by McDonalds. @Justin Harris is simply incorrect in his review, Costa is not good at all and it's more or less the same price. Also I liked the covid measure in place, it makes me feel more relaxed going in. Will be coming again
C. R.
Dark Habbit is excellent and one of the best new places I've found in years. So many fancy coffee shops seem to serve what tastes like warm milk rather coffee but the coffee at Dark Habbit is excellent. I'm not snobby enough to drink black coffee and I think a lot of coffee shops seem to use coffee more suited to a light pour over than espresso for all their drinks (at least that's my amateur theory!). Dark Habbit avoids this and you get a rich mouthful of coffee when you order a drink from them. I get so frustrated so often these days with coffee shops but not Dark Habbit. Dark Habbit is truly excellent in a world where coffee going mainstream has also led it to become very mediocre!
V. P.
Great coffee, great chat, just a heads up that the coffee normally isn’t that hot so drink immediately
C. B.
Best coffee. Nothing compares.
Great staff too, very helpful.
Also at good price.
N. B.
Some great members of staff, very knowledgeable with their coffee and happy to chat about it. Coffee is consistently good. Only downside is the customer is asked to wait outside but there is no way of knowing when your coffee is ready, and then you land up having to wait in the queue again to get a coffee you've already ordered and paid for. I do completely get and respect the Covid safety measures and need to serve other customers whilst I wait for my V60 it's just not a particularly well oiled system.
M. F.
Excellent high end coffee house. There are no compromises on quality, so if you are here during peak hour you may have to wait in a queue. I come here regularly and it’s one of London’s best.
A. M.
This is a great coffee shop selling quality coffee and allowing the use of your reusable cup (at a distance). On the side they also have a wide variety of wine.
Service was friendly and my coffee was made with great skill and care.
The store itself is provides a large customer circulation space and a limit of 3 people at a time in the store for social distancing
Dark Habit is found north of Queens Park Station on the West side of Salusbury Road across the road from Fitness First.
If you like good quality coffee that is made with care you wouldn't be disappointed here.

Lovely place to grab a coffee and a cake for a stroll in the suburbs of Queen's Park. Great tasting coffee and very friendly service. It was busy and due to Covid there were only a few people allowed inside at a time. They even stayed open past closing as it was so busy. Would recommend and I hope to visit again soon.
G. Q.
Amazing coffee! Probably the best speciality coffee in Queens Park, great flat white and V60 coffee. The barista's are very friendly and professional. The small cake/sweet bites are also delicious, especially the brownies.
L. S.
Lovely coffee shop with some great vegan options 😊👌🏾
N. N.
The best coffee around Queens Park. ☕
Also try the banana bread 😍
M. V. J.
Good coffee and great atmosphere! Highly recommended on Sunday morning.
S. M.
In my top 3 best coffees in London. Service is decent.
D. G.
If you want excellent coffee that is not super heated in a chilled environment, head for Dark Habit every time!
Excellent coffee and delicious cakes. A bit clinical perhaps, like a doctor’s waiting room and they need to provide more comfortable seating but apart from that, awesome!
Note the staff are courteous and professional. They are not fawning or simpering or tripping over themselves to delight your every whim. If your ego needs a foot massage, go elsewhere!
A. K.
My favourite coffee shop in the area! The coffee was great every time I went and they now also have porcelain cups, not just the disposable ones. The space is, in my opinion, very stylish and minimalistic. The staff is always professional and friendly which makes every visit very pleasant.
Y. R.
I loveBrutalist Eastern Europen service with ultra precise brewing. The bleeding concrete edge off coffee technology. No one else in Queens Park uses reverse osmotic water.
Delicate drip single origin no additional needed.
A running joke among regulars about Karens trying to change Dark Habit makes it all the more enjoyable. Planet organic Karen, stay in your own lane.
b. k.
I was so pleasantly surprised with how welcoming and comfortable this shop is. The coffee is amazing, staff was welcoming every time that I went there and they even gave us a small coffee sample to try out their new roasts at home.
EDIT:
They now have porcelain cups!!! :)))
OLD:
The only small downside is the fact that they don's seem to have regular espresso cups, but rather only disposable ones - we all know that coffee tastes better from a porcelain cup :)

I used to live nearby around the time Dark Habit opened, and no matter there I have lived in the city since then, I always try to come back to DH whenever I can. Best coffee in London in my humble opinion ☕
S. A.
My Favorite Coffee place. The Coffee is Just perfect.. I normally ask for only one shot of Coffee in my 8oz oat coffee And they make it just perfect for me! And my Partner love their Hot Chocolate. It's always a nice treat to go to Dark Habits
J. G.
Really good coffee. Their concept is a bit different from other cafes so don't expect the usual drinks on the menu. A 6oz milky is roughly the same as a flat white.
They have a nice peaceful minimalist atmosphere. It's more of a place for taking a bit of time out, working on a laptop, or reading a book than say taking the kids as a few of the other reviewers have found out.
E. S.
The best coffee in NW London by far. I go there almost every day and the quality is present in every single cup. Don’t expect a chain-like treatment here, expect real humans serving you excellent coffee.
A. B.
Really like the calm oasis and the fact that it's not as busy as the other coffee shops in the area. The decor is nice but feel it could be a bit more comfortable as it is very stripped back- realise they are going for a natural feel but after 25 mins in the wooden chair I was uncomfortable. Also they closed at 4pm so be aware if you come in like 3.15 as I did. Great coffee and hot chocolate as to be expected!
S. P.
Delicious coffee. Great every time I've ordered it. I love that they provide Oatly milk as an option.
A. G.
Probably the best coffee shop in the Queens Park area. Always received a great level of customer service and my god the cakes are yummy. But be careful as they do shut a little earlier than some other shops in the area. Would love to say goodbye to the takeaway cups though :(
S. R.
Phenomenal coffee.. Run by two guys who in a very low key way make the best coffee I have ever tasted anywhere.. and I am a coffee fanatic. Understated with an incredible attention to detail, and an interesting regular change of roaster every few days. Its the best.
J. H.
Have been coming here for years, and have never been disappointed. Consistently great coffee and fantastic wine, with outgoing and friendly service.
J. O. S.
Dark Habit is the best coffee place in Queen’s Park-Kilburn area. Welcoming staff, always there to help you choose the right coffee beans! I come here as often as I can. You can buy beans to take with you home as well. They’ll grind them for whatever type of coffee you make at home. I recommend everyone in the area come here and support the local coffee shop. :)
M. B.
The latte I ordered certainly showed off their barrista skills and the roast was to my liking. Didn't have iced coffees though. Nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff who didn't complain after a friend and I stayed a bit longer while they where closed to prep for evening service.
B. S.
Excellent coffee and highly knowledgeable staff. A must visit for speciality coffee enthusiasts and casual coffee drinkers alike.
E. s.
Absolutely lovely flat white this morning from here and very friend/chatty service, will definitely be coming back
D. s.
I stood in a queue of 3 people ahead and waited 5 mins to be served, this isn’t uncommon here.
I asked the barrista for their strongest coffee, she kindly gave me her recommendation, but did say they aren’t really strong blends. Nonetheless her service was impeccable and she’s a true professional.
The place is nicely styled and reflects a large room rather, the seating arrangements are condensed due to space. For me I found the atmosphere mimics an office or libray, as you will not find anyone coming in for a social chat, but only work purposes. You can even come in at any given time and see the same people sat there hoging a chair and working off their laptops. Caution on a day off from work it could give one anxiety when planning to visit or sit in. Finally in my opinion the coffee hasn’t lived up to the name nor the hype, but it will somewhat serve its purpose.
C. R.
Nice coffee but impossible to get into if you have a pram. Don’t know if this is intentional but the very high step with no ramp and only one door open means it’s very challenging to get in and out of. I’ve given up trying to get in there for a coffee and now go opposite to Starbucks which is a shame as I would prefer to support an independent shop
J. N.
I go here from time to time. Good coffee, decent service, chilled atmosphere. Coffee is quite expensive for the very small cups though. Good place to sit down to work or study for a bit.
D. R.
Hands down the best coffee shop in Queens Park. It is a great place to relax or get some work done. Music is always interesting too.
Serge, Rap and lovely Lina are doing a fantastic job! You must try their pastries from Hedone Bakery. Just yum.
R. H.
Hipster and artsy space decorated roughly but tastefully with old wood panels.
Coffee style and quality is a gamble, as they change the grains and roasting every week, not always to expectations. +1 for the exploration but -1 for not offering consistent quality as an alternative.
Very small variety of choices on pastry and drinks.
H.
Very friendly staff, excellent coffee and the cakes are irresistible. Love visiting this place!
J. B.
Such amazing coffee and really friendly staff, can't recommend more!

Great coffee - awesome staff. Ignore the posts about the ‘pretentious’ staff - they are great and really helpful. Highly recommend.
T. R.
Your atypical 2018 hipster cafe in a beautiful setting. Price reflects quality. Menu very minimal

A. M.

coffee was good.
k. W.
Slightly disappointed as I had high expectations for this place considering it could have been my new daily local. Had no idea what beans was being used, no information of country of orgin etc. Sadly it just felt like a jump on to a trend/hype coffee shop.
E. H.
Excellent stuff, so excited to find this place not so far away from home. Cortado was excellent. Well worth a detour.
B. G.
We had great coffee, and the barista kindly gave us some grinded coffee to take home and sample.
