The next stop on our West London lunch extravaganza was Detour Cafe!! A lovely little place on Askew Road with delightful staff and food! Now we know a picture of a salad isn’t going to win us any accolades… but this might just be the greatest salad we’ve ever eaten!! 🏆 Loads of crunchy broccoli, juicy cranberries, red onion, sweetcorn and plenty of dressing!! This was the real showstealer of our little lunchtime foray! Almost tasted too good to be healthy!! 🤣

Went to Detour Cafe on a Sunday (1130). Had to wait for a long time to be seated (even when there were many empty seats)- and I had company. The servers were busy doing other chores and prioritize other things. The cafe is not certainly not cheap as compared to some other ones in vicinity but the food, the coffee and the ambience was exciting. I had a good relaxed time. Will certainly go back again,

Popped in for a quick lidless coffee (oat latte £3) -no menus/prices up? Food looked & smelt lovely but no idea what was what and not inclined to ask. I'm told they do serve Matcha... seems quite popular (queues form at peak times) staff friendly!

Detour are a small independent cafe and coffee shop located on Askew Road. They serve a variety of sweet and savory foods on the counter, in addition to a fresh menu consisting of British favourites and "Kiwi" themed food inspired by brunch meals in New Zealand. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food is excellent, the coffee is some of the best in the area, and the price is more than reasonable. I'd highly recommend Detour!

Had an expected brunch at this tiny trendy cafe today. Was planning on having only coffee but the smell of the food coming out of their kitchen was too hard to resist. New Zealand themed coffee shop with decent sandwiches, muffins, brownies, cookies, and of course coffee. This is a very popular Café on Askew Road, it's the best coffee shop on the road in my opinion. The beans are sourced from electric coffee which you can also buy. The menu features breakfast staples such as full English, pancakes, omelettes, poached eggs plus some kiwi dishes like minced beef on toast, corn fritters. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. It's busy all day, is kid friendly, and dog friendly with outdoor seating. I come hear most Saturdays for brunch for coffee and snack and I'm never disappointed.

Tuesday 15 September, 2020.. very happy to see Detour open again, operating as usual with a breakfast/brunch menu and sandwiches & pastries inter alia on offer. Fewer tables and chairs as per dictats related to the current bug .. BUT the atmosphere is gleefully happy and normal, and not one of restriction and fear ..for this, I thank the staff. .. Thank you, Detour!!

Best french toast I have ever had. So my cousins brought me here on my visit to London and I was blown away. Its a shame they don't have franchises. They achieved perfection in breakfast in my eyes. Went there again on my next trip and had a banana cake which was out of this world. Wish I had breakfast there every day. Brilliant place

Where do we start... The food is amazing, literally unbelievable. The service is second to none. All of that and great prices. Some of our favourites have to be the poached egg, avocado on artisan toast and the chicken, mozzarella, pine nuts, avocado & pesto wrap. AMAZING!!!!!

Delicious yummy food on the up and coming Askew Road. My veggie breakfast of poached egg (you could ask to have it scrambled or fried instead), humous, veggie sausage, avocado, hash browns, mushrooms and toast were all top draw. I was served very quickly after ordering. It was £8.50. Latte coffee (£2.60) and a smoothie (£4.00) were all good too. The staff are friendly and efficient, but as you can see the price is a little more expensive than the average. They have the newspapers for you to browse whilst eating. Would recommend.

Great cafe. Good coffee and food. I asked for something to be removed from my food due to an allergy and they offered me extra avocado as a replacement. I really appreciated that. Always busy so get there early

Not a bad cafe, the coffee is good. But the size of my breakfast (a bap) for £8 was too small and pricey. I also found the seating really tight. But still a good option if you are in the area.

Sat outside on a lovely sunny day but we were unfortunately ignored by the staff, even though there were only two people sat inside and the staff weren't busy. We eventually went inside to order. I had the avocado toast, it was quite nice except the eggs were over cooked and tasteless. Boyfriend had the English breakfast, which he said was nice if very small. The beans came in a tiny baby-sized cup, I don't understand why anyone would be so mean with beans!

The staff are very polite and helpful. . . My wife is lactose intolerant and they were very quick to suggest variants on the menu to accommodate her condition . . Atmosphere was very pleasant and our sandwiches and coffee were great . . didnt realise this gem was so close to home . .

A bland quiche and bland, overly cold salad made me wonder about the ingredients being used. Of a lower quality perhaps? Certainly, the prices aren't low. However, I have had a nice soup there in the past, and the tea is decent, so the jury is still out.
