Reviews of Drury 188-189

Blown away by how wonderful this place was. The staff were so welcoming when we went in for breakfast (feeling a little tender from the night before!) We were served beautiful food with fresh coffee, freshly pressed orange juice and a lovely atmosphere. Everything on the menu could be made gluten free and the in shop bakery had so many gluten free and vegan options. I would go out of my way to visit again!
B. D.
Good brunch, good coffee, good lunch and good cakes. All for good price as well.
The place is cosy and the waiters are the nicest in London.
Maybe for all these reasons it is always full.
If you go for brunch, I recommend their eggs benedict or their french toast.
If you go for lunch, they offer different combinations of salads and proteins that are delicious and healthy. But I’m sure anything you try will be good.
I always love to come back.

Visited the cafe twice on 29 Nov 2021 and 04 Dec 2021.
I ordered avocado toast with poached eggs and a cup of cappuccino on my first visit. Overall, the dish had good proportion and the cafe did great cappuccino. The flavour was average. One thing that bothers me was the lemon dressing in the avocado. The lemon juice was too much to the extent that I can feel the acidic lingering in my mouth. I thought to give it another try on my second visit and brought my partner along. This time round, I requested to reduce the lemon dressing, but only to find out that the avocado was prepped in advance and the lemon dressing had already been mixed in with the avocado so the lemon dressing cannot be reduced. I ordered another dish - scrambled eggs with bacon which was alright while my partner ordered eggs royale. The smoked salmon was a disappointment as it didn’t taste fresh.

Local coffee shop
Perfect for breakfast and branch
Kind service , fare prices.
The smell at the place is to die for.
Great coffee and sweets
Definitely will come back !

The food was good, I really enjoyed the menu and the cappuccinos were amongst they best I have ever tried. But the service, wow that was messy and unstructured. They missed things on our order and forgot a coffee that we where asked to pay for.
Love the vibe, but it’s a fine line between Bohemic and dirty…please clean the toilets better (picture from vent that is in total reachable height in the bathroom)

Our 1st meal in London and it's an amazingly great start. Friends told us we shouldn't have any expectation about the food in UK since it is not good. However, Drury brought us a positive impression with their delicate and satisfying food.
We had their Egg Royale which is egg bendict with salmon and French Toast to share with 2 of us. The portion was decent with reasonable price. We love the french toast so much, the toast was soft and melted in our mouth immediately after we had it.

Drury Lane is one of my favorite cafe in London. I love their brunch ( with #glutenfree bread) and their salads and quiche for lunch ( also gluten free).
The venue has cute and messages scattered around the walls and is full of books. Book, coffee and food 3 main ingredients to a happy life.
D. C.
Nice atmosphere and DELICIOUS gluten-free cakes!!!!! Must try if you’re in the area. The coffee is good too!
I tried the GF Chocolate and Pumpkin cake 🙌🏻🙌🏻 highly recommended ♥️
S. K.
Highly recommended cafe! I loved it! The hot chocolate was one of the best hot chocolates I ever had in my life, and the pistachio brownies were super yummy❤️ the staff were so nice and super sweet, especially Aziz with his kind gesture to customers 🙏 this cafe is a MUST visit and it has a really cozy vibes ❤️❤️

BEST COFFEE EVER, great atmosphere, staff member liked my wife’s shoes so much he gave her a free foot massage whilst admiring them.

I don't know you, but when I go to a place and the staff shows happiness, attention, respect, calm I just want to go back...
I was looking around to find an eggs Benedict that I would like, and tbh, I loved this one! Came to my table warm, hollandaise sauce very well prepared and delicious taste of butter on my English muffins.
Cappuccino with skimmed milk perfectly prepared.
Thank you for the amazing experience! Highly recommended!!
S. K.
Popped in for breakfast. Loved the online menu.
Quirky interior decor gives lots of great atmosphere.
Friendly staff, excellent food and coffee.
We will definitely return next time we are in the area.
S. A.
Finally, a place that does a proper macciato! Brilliant coffee and friendly staff in a lovely side street off of CG.
T. W.
Came in for a latte and also took away some pastries. Ambience was lively. Coffee was good and came with a tulip heart ❤️. Teşekkürler!
L.
Gorgeous coffee and brilliant vegan options! Staff were really friendly (regardless of it being super busy!) and the space had so much personality, with previous customers leaving reviews on the cafe walls. (Would love if they added coffee syrups to their drinks menu!)

Nice staff and food
It's my first time to try flat white and it's quite strong for me. I am not sure if all flat whites are like this.
Caramel and pistachio brownie is divine. Perfect to accompany with coffee
F. W.
Really nice place! The food was good and the staff was super friendly 😊.
H. A.
Went here every while staying at a close hotel. Their food is impeccable and the staff are very friendly. Looking forward to visiting again

Drury is one of my favorite spots in London. The best baked goods (vegan and gluten free offerings), good coffee, smoothies, juices, sandwiches, and more. Such a small cozy place too. Only downside is a couple of times I’ve gone in one person behind the counter was a little short/rude with me. She was maybe just stressed about how busy it was? But whenever she asked dine in or takeout, she seemed relieved when I would say take out and bothered when I asked to sit in.
O. R.
Wonderful staff, amazing food, and great prices! Definitely worth going to if you’re in the area!
S. d. N.
Drury is the place to go for a good brunch. You should come with a ogre hunger because the portions they serve are so big that I always have hard time to finish my plate.
The staff is super nice and friendly and the boss is always welcoming us with a smile. The people working there are pretty much the same and it’s a good sign of happy employees (which often lead to happy customers).
I’ve tried pretty much every food on the menu and everything is really really tasty!
The atmosphere is warm and cosy and it always a pleasure to go there.
There are pretty busy in the weekend and you might have to wait to get seated but it’s worth the wait.
I definitely need to go back soon as they recently introduced the turmeric latte in their drink menu!
A. G.
This place was recommended to me by the Aveda hair salon close by. Warm welcome by the team, great quality coffee and cake and a bottle of cucumber and mint water were given to me as well. Perfect hydration. Lovely environment. Plenty of interesting chatter if you are solo (like I was). Felt very Covid secure as well as they were letting in ventilation. The gentleman who served me said they are still fairly quiet during the week so if you are nearby, please support this lovely business.
C. H.
I thoroughly recommended visiting, the service and food and drinks are excellent. We always attend for breakfasts when we visit London. The granola, porridge, smoothies and coffee we often have are top quality and great value for money.
P. N.
Best coffee in London ☕!
They also have a great variety of breakfast dishes and amazing lunch salads 😍
Everyone is super caring, kind and friendly! I love spending time there, the atmosphere is super cosy and welcoming!
I always buy cakes take home too 🧁
J. M.
An excellent coffee shop. Perfect place for breakfast in central London
D. K.
Great vibe, excellent coffee, delicious food and desserts, friendly staff. Best cafe in the area!
M. A.
Marvellous little cafe, just aroung the corner from the Gillian Lynn theatre.
Nice strong coffee and excellent cakes.
A. K.
Super friendly staff and decor, a very cosy cafe to have a healthy meal and relax. Generous portions and the sweets are amazing. Great range of food and drinks. It's definitely worth a visit.
Z. Z. N.
Fantastic cafe with a big selection of pastries, breakfasts and drinks. Friendly service and lovely decor
A. M.
The best breakfast we had in London .
Very good quality of foods, good price, and lovely staff
S. D.
Twice in one day! Long black coffee and their home made granola with Greek yoghurt and fresh fruit. Great way to start the day. The coffee is so good we made it back across from Westminster to get another, just before closing. With a slice of almond and blueberry cake it’s a real treat. Great place, friendly team top class food and awesome coffee 😍
B.
Found this place via Google. We got there and it was very busy (usually a good sign), got noticed straight away and a table sorted quickly. Order didn't take long to come, despite the place being busy we had fantastic service from everyone working there and order didn't take too long at all. Food, coffee, and juices were so so delicious. Would definitely recommend and go back again. The only thing I was gutted about was being too full to share a pastry or cake after - they looked yummy! Another reason for us to go back 😁
B. F.
The staff here are really warm, welcoming and fantastic. The host helped us find a table and the counter staff was very patient as we selected our cakes from the many, delicious looking options! The ambiance is very chill and perfect for a quick bite or longer stay to meet with friends or write. Felt like a second home!
L. C.
great place for breakfast. their coffee brew is really good, and they offer a wonderful selection of cooked breakfast options, plus a mouthwatering array of pastries. service is exceptionally friendly and welcoming, wholeheartedly recommended!
M. K.
This is a great cafe serving good cappuccino with a great brunch menu. Excellent service and a great place nearby Covent Garden. Good meeting spot. This place is one of my must to go places during holidays.
What to say, good location, good coffee, good ambient... Perfect place to have a coffee, read books, or simply chat with buddys.
S. H.
Fast and kind service. Great food. Lovely atmosphere.
R.
Jesus the bakery items here are awesome and will definitely contribute to your waist line.
M. B.
Nice café for a breakfast, good options : vegan, GF, etc..
The coconut cappuccino is very good..
However the avo tosts are disappointing, the smashed avo was sooo acid, I couldn’t feel the avocado anymore, just the lemon.. The bread was not that interesting.. at it’s not even that cheap. At least the organic poached eggs saved my day.
Watch out, the brownies are extremely sweet! Like too much, I had an overdose even after 2 spoons of it. Even when removing the layer of caramel.
Good atmosphere and nice staff .. so I’d go back just for the hot drinks while reading a book.
D. K.
Excellent brunch, good coffee, very friendly service. Would recommend. Even though it was busy in a sunday morning they still managed to find us a table with no waiting time and food came pretty quick. Poached eggs 5*
T. F.
Great coffee shop on drury lane. It has eggs 🍳, avocado on surdough , halloumi and lots of fresh backed pastries 🥮. It doesn’t only have great food but it has a very nice vibe , decoration and atmosphere!! One of the best coffee shops in the Covent Garden area .
j. c.
The servers were polite and nice. The food was amazing especially the scrambled eggs with bacon, would come again!
S. Z.
Nice coffee with professional brew skill 👍
The brunch menu is also lovely. I ordered a toast with meshed avocado plus pouch eggs plus grilled cheese, it is AMAZING! Totally worth spending a whole weekend morning with friends or alone reading here!
S. K.
Best coffee in Covent Garden! What’s not to love…friendly faces, divine brownies and awesome coffee!
M. L.
A very nice, cozy place tucked away on a side street. Great atmosphere and proper gourmet coffee. A great deal warmer and friendlier than your usual distressed-wood trendy modern London coffee place.
H. T.
Decent decor and coffee but the Food was so-so. I had an Eggs Royale (like an eggs benedict but instead of ham it’s salmon) and the poached egg was almost fully cooked. But their hollandaise sauce was awesome and there are books in the cafe that you can read while eating / drinking!
N. R.
This is a great local coffee shop. The coffee is excellent, the food very good, and the staff so friendly.
S. M.
Great little cafe with a food choice of different cakes. Busy so lucky to get a table .
F. M.
Fab little Cafe with delicious food, would definitely recommend
S. H. S.
I will definitely be returning here. Cosy seating, lots to read, delicious coffee, nice decor, and friendly staff. The only improvement I can suggest is accepting card payments for amounts less than £5.00.
B. K.
Great atmosphere, staff is super friendly.
Great coffee too.
C. R.
Really friendly staff, cozy atmosphere and great coffee
N.
A cosy café with great food and an atmosphere conducive to reading. The coffee is also really good. Really liked the vibe here, will definitely return
A. A.
Great experience, good coffee & comfy sofas to sit on and have a chat with mates.
I. M.
We had breakfast here when staying in London, for twice. Yes.
The staff is super friendly. Food is organic and healthy. The vibe is great!
P. T.
Cafe is cozy, staff are friendly and the display of cakes and cookies are a glorious sight. The muffins are huge and very delicious. Was slightly disappointed with the coffee but it may be a one off. Even so, I’d still come back and give it another go.
M.
Nice quaint little cafe with good food and good coffee. The atmosphere is made homely by the notes left on napkins and kept tucked between books all around
C. S.
Another amazing visit to Drury Lane, Ali and the team are all so friendly and the food is FABULOUS! Always look forward to our trip here -don’t change a thing!!!
d. J.

A very nice Caffe with lots of books and loads of choices. All the cakes are amazing and they have plenty of choices of drinks. Really enjoy my time there and all the staff are very friendly and nice as well. Highly recommend.

We stayed in London for a couple of days. Our son who was based in London told us to visit!!
We had our breakfast there each morning before touring around!
Ali and all the staff made us feel so welcome, the service was excellent, the coffee to die for and the food was lovely.
All very competitively priced!! We have no hesitation in recommending this cafe.......a great experience......big thanks!!!
Danny and Jeno from Stockport

Funky little coffee shop with amazing coffee and food. Staff so friendly we went 5 times in 3 days opposite our hotel especially Toto and young girl
J. S.
Great food, friendly staff, cozy setting, and a ton of books. We ate here four days in a row.
D. T.
Cozy brunch place, great food (we had Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale). Good collection of sweets. The chocolate muffin was delicious. Definitely a London gem.
T. W.
Stripped back industrial styled coffee shop with great looking food (home baked cakes and sandwiches) and excellent service. Fantastic coffee. Table water a welcome addition. Slightly out of the way, meaning less tourists.
Update: Lunch salads are excellent; tasty and inventive.
Highly recommended.
l. n.
Good coffee, tasty food, great atmosphere!
H. U.
Lovely cup of Mocha from this place. The interior design is wonderful and cosy, and staff are very friendly.
B. J.
Amazing food at a great price. Staff were friendly too. Great atmosphere and ambience.
K. P.
Chanced upon this place after Lynne Theatre show, it was near closing time in evening but it had a vibe that made us stop by for a quick coffee and cake. It was delicious. The vibe was so cosy comfortable all casually put together but a definite artsy book club style. I would surely come back next time in London.
Q. P.
Fun, buzzing. Ok food. Odd old (toilet?) Paper stuck on walls that didn't work for me. Food ok/good rather than excellent
R. K.
Friendly service, good food, really nice atmosphere. There were a lot of desserts to choose from, but we had the chocolate custard muffin. The coffee wasn't my favorite (I prefer a more bitter one) but I would come again :)
Y.
Got some stuff from Too Good to Go from there as a way to try it out. Friendly staff, and they gave me so much delicious food! They also had very good espresso. Definitely worth checking out for good coffee and some good sandwiches and pastries!
T. K.
Yes the MUFFIN MAN lives here and his muffins are fire. Chocolate chip muffin was a rich tasty treat with fluffy sponge all the way through and a surprise(!) gooey chocolate center. Female barista with tattoos is super helpful in sorting loose pounds and should be promoted to chief Muffinmin. 10/5 stars.
B. F.
Extremely jealous of my daughter who ordered the French toast! Great food, great coffee. A true gem of a find just off Covent Garden.
E. S.
Perfect cozy delicious and definitely a locals place. Staff was wonderful and very patient with me (accidentally) breaking ordering protocol 🙃. Nom nom
M. Y.
The dessert here are so good!! Definitely recommend the Guiness chocolate cake! Coffee was average and the smoothie wasn’t bad but too thick for my taste.
R. C.
Got a caramel and pistachio brownie here. It was super tasty. Really gooey and moist in the middle. Super chocolatey. Sweet caramel with crunchy pistachios on top. I'd come back to try some others.
M. J.
Best smoked salmon and poached eggs in London. Been going here for years and each and every time it’s amazing. Breakfast , lunch or those lovely cakes and brownies. Make sure you visit when in Covent Garden.
A. B.
Amazing coffee, definetly gets a spot in my top 5 best places for coffee. Kudos!
S. P.
Only 3 stars from me. I really liked the staff, look and atmosphere this place.
I just didn't quite enjoy the food as much as I thought I would. It wasn't bad, it simply didn't excite me and I'm in no rush to try it again. It was too oily for my liking.
M. A.
lovely place, super friendly staff and welling to listen to the customer feedback, i had my breakfast twice in this place.
Their Orange and Almond cake is the right way to start your day, and a good companion with your cup of coffee.
i believe they have a good quality coffee beans and one of the best professional espresso machines (la marzocco), however the barista need a little more training to follow the specialty coffee standards.
in general nice place to visit.
H.
Cosy café with delicious food and coffee. Staff is so friendly and generous - would definitely come back!
P. P.
Best breakfast place in town! Try smashed avocado on toast w/ poached eggs and salmon. Great way to start your morning. So delicious!
O. C.
This cafe offers some of the best brunch and coffee in town. Simple yet filling, the place has so much character and warmth. The staff and owner are lovely. The service is always top notch. The wait time for food is minimal. And the quality of food received is excellent. The owner takes the time and effort to remember everyone who walks through the Cafe's doors. I cannot recommend this place enough! Support local and small businesses like this.
A. R.
We stayed at the Covent Garden Travelodge, luckily this little gem was right outside! The coffee was so good we came all 3 days that we stayed. On the last day we enjoyed a donut, and it was FANTASTIC, a vegan delight. The atmosphere is great too, very relaxing and loved the 'hipster' feel about it. The staff were also very friendly and our order was filled quickly! If we stay at this hotel again, we'll definitely be revisiting Drury on our next trip.
J. d. l. M.
The Red Velvet cake in itself is amazing and well worth the travel! More couches would make it the perfect place for a rainy London afternoon. Recommended!
J. K.
Was a regular here before our office moved. Friendliest staff. Always filled my (Queen Elizabeth memorabilia) mug up that I bought in from the office with the best flat white. Amazing cakes and coffee. Brunch food and sandwiches also top notch. Hugely popular for good reason. Miss these guys. Visit them and get the blueberry cake 👌
T. B.
Small authentic London coffee shop. Perfect food and coffee for a cold winters morning!
J. M.
Great spot for breakfast it was busy so the service was a bit slow.
t. h.
Great coffee. Great staff. Incredible bacon butties
S. S.
Great cafe! Would definitely recommend :)
А. Н.
Amazing place! Always excellent food, really friendly and welcoming staff. If you want the best breakfast or lunch in a cozy atmosphere, this is your place. Definitely try the homemade cakes!
Thanks for the great service ❤️
J. K.
Excellent coffee, amaaazing food and friendly staff!
m. c.
Brilliant prices and portions, especially for London. French toast was considerably filling and £10, Eggs Royale was delicious. 100% recommend!
R. &. K. B.
Busy, really friendly staff, food was excellent
A. T.
Nice atmospheric little cafe. Coffee is indeed excellent. Not bowled over by the pastry + would appreciate a bit more sfatey measures ref Covid. Indeed staff don't wear masks nor do customers and seats quite close to each others. But admit, best coffee I had in London.
N. v. L.
The coffee shop is very central and yet he is not too touristy and remains comfortable. He is well-attended, but you always find a place. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. The food and coffee are of a high standard, my favorite was the cinnamon french toast. The brownies were good and fresh. The avocado toast delicious, although it tasted a bit too much of lemon. All in all a must.
S. N.
Myself and my partner loves drinking coffee, we had tried Drury coffee once and we fell in love with the taste and the vibe indoors. They are very welcoming and love people. Very nice to see their support for the NHS during the pandemic as well. Great to support local business during this hard time.
A. S.
Really good coffee and nice breakfasts. Pleasant athmosphere. May get somewhat busy in the mornings.
R. B.
Great cafe...lovely ambience...good food..it's a bit hipster...bit over the top...but fine and relaxed full of a curious mix of people..and a curious mix of books that are scattered all over the place doubtless to flatter the customers that they are all part of the litteraty...and amongst the well read...my daughter's liked it...I went with the flow..
c.
amazing coffee and really nice atmosphere inside! Serious FOMO when i was walking out and looked at all the cakes + sandwiches, will have to come back for those!
J. J.
I'm not a regular coffee drinker and I'm not easily impressed by a coffee, but here I was. It was really tasty, served by kind staff in a very nice setting.
T. C.
Well worth a visit!! We had Saturday brunch. It was amazing. Never had porridge like it.
J. E.
Great coffee shop, relaxed atmosphere with great breakfast and lunch menu. Was difficult to resist the vast selection of cakes!
O. L.
CHarming little place with a great atmosphere and lovely staff. Great coffee and the brunch menu is delicious. We will definitely go back
O. d. S.
Incredible service: all the time, every time! Delicious fresh quality food, excellent coffee.
Ali and Cemal run a fantastic cafe; staff are always friendly and attentive, the coffee is top notch (AllPress beans, and the baristas know what they're doing with a flat white), and the atmosphere is quite something compared to your usual central-london coffee shop.
This place is a great little respite and haven from the bustling area, once you step inside you can really relax.
Food is FRESH cooked on site, salads are delicious, I'll also say this place is excellent value for money too!
S. W.
Great breakfast menu, with the usual breakfast offerings, well made. The avocado was so nice with lime and some mint, which was so tasty. Really well made eggs and sour dough. I didn’t have any, but the cakes looked pretty good too. Great coffee too!
This isn’t a huge place, so not always the easiest to get a table, thankfully as it’s not right in the centre of the most touristy areas, it’s usually pretty good.
J. J.
Always a friendly atmosphere with great coffee and food, whether breakfast, brunch, or lunch! The staff are always super friendly and make an extra effort for their customers. Happy to be a regular and really happy it back open, even though my office is not!
E. B.
As an Austrian living in London it took me a very long time to find a spot which could keep up with the charm and hospitality of the Viennese cooffeehouse culture, but this place is second to none! Great coffee and food, super friendly staff, very fair prices and the best eggs benedict in London!
F. S.
The coffee was amazing, those who served us had a massive smile on their face. Customer service was 10/10. Plenty of different options on cakes which makes you want to try all them. 🤤delicous
O. V.
Nice and tasty breakfasts, cute interior with a soul, great cakes! And friendly to furry friends
J. G.
Such a lovely, stylish and authentic little place. The staff go out of their way to make people feel welcome and do a great job. Breakfasts are fairly priced and delicious. Places like this are so rare in central London.
R. H.
Excellent coffee with great staff who are attentive and informed. The entrance hides the quality of what's inside. Well made coffee by a team who know what they are doing. Good selections of cakes and pastries but it is there sandwiches which for me are good. Hard to find a shop that prepares true toasted sandwiches on a grill and these guys do.
I have always visited early morning and it is typically quiet and could not comment on the rest of the day..
A. C.
This place is amazing!
Great atmosphere, great vegan options
M. C.
Best coffee in town. Amazing staff and the place is an experience apart with books all over.
K. K.
Definitely one of the best coffee shop i’ve been to in London. Drury cafe had a really good vibe, relaxing atmosphere and a great staff! The food was really fresh, well presented and delicious. If you’ re vegan, gluten free or looking for a healthy meal, this place is for you! If you are in London, definitely give Drury 188-189 cafe a try!
M. M.
Best Donut in London
Cosy coffee
Perfect lattee
D. H.
Friendly staff, decent coffee, great breakfasts
Y. G.
A place with very kind staff and so nice coffee :-)
M. F. L.
Nice coffee, great ambiance. Wood, warmth and books. No WiFi - so this is ideal if you want to unplug and read.
J. F.
Honestly some of the best coffee in London and the brownies are awesome (as are the other baked treats and food if I have the willpower not to get a brownie....) . If you are in the Covent Garden/Holborn/Soho definitely head in for your caffeine fix.
L. B.
My favourite cafe in London. Wonderful ambience, lovely staff, always welcoming. The best hot chocolate and brownies in London hands down.
L. G.
Nice cafe with attentive service- love the decor - good food too!!
C. C.
Warm and welcoming, the perfect breakfast/brunch spot!
L.
Lovely spot for a great conversation and even better coffee, as it should be. Food and staff are excellent, the french toast is simply luxurious. Don’t miss out! Check them out!
T. L.
Warm, cosy and stylish interior. Great coffee and "homemade Calories".
I.
A great find near British Museum - excellent coffee, generous freshly squeezed orange juice and proper cakes and pastries - very good value too. Will be back
S. C.
This unassuming cafe was such a great find - amazing coffee, friendly service and so many wonderful books! The pastries looked amazing, I just didn't have time to eat. It's the first place I found a long black since being in the UK - will definitely be back next time I'm in London!
K. C.
Wow want a great place food looked amazing chocolate brownie was to die for
A. F.
Brilliant place for breakfast or lunch. Not exactly acres of space but top food and drink.
T. S.
This place is amazing. The friendliest place in Covent Garden with great coffee and delicious food. My friend always gets the Eggs Royale which he says is always cooked to perfection. For me the homemade Granola made vegan with coconut yoghurt and fresh berries is both decadent and healthy so a win win. You can see the care and attention that goes into each dish. Super safe and spaced out seating, and extremely clean which is great to see post covid. As someone who lives in Covent Garden this is the place I always take people to for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. Also, the owner is the kindest and most generous man, with a heart of gold which makes eating and drinking at this independent business even more of a pleasure.
Edit.. Just wanted to add I finally had lunch here and its amazing. The salmon looks so good, but as a vegan I had the three vegan salads which were amazing. Love this place.
L. F. d. M. N.
Drury is undoubtedly my favorite coffee shop in London. One of those cozy places where you feel really welcome and willing to come back. People are kind and they have the best food ever (their brownies are impressive!) I had an unforgettable experience. 💙
M. M.
Amazing little café with amazing people.
A. V.
Fav coffee shop in London. Perfect for a lunch as well. Very nice and pro staff. Delicious cake. Take away options too.
J. B.
If there is a cafe with a better vibe than Drury 188-189 in London, I haven't found it. From the atmosphere, the food and coffee, and especially the friendly staff, this is just the place. It's a haven in a busy world - what any great cafe should strive to be.
M. R.
Nice cafe-restaurant near Covent Garden . I went later in the afternoon but i can eat a delicious lunch.

Oh, how many times during lockdown have I dreamed about their chocolate and pumpkin cake!! Drury 188-189 is a regular spot for me and my colleagues to enjoy tea and cake after work; consequently, I made sure it was the first café I visited after lockdown. It didn't disappoint: their food is as delicious as ever and I was greeted like an old friend. Extra points for keeping the space clean and safe according to COVID-19 rules without sacrificing the cosy environment. Their dedicated and super friendly staff deserve a special mention: as cliché as it sounds, they make you feel at home. Highly recommended.
L. D.
Really really tasty flat white, the coffee flavours are so smooth, you know these guys have configured their espresso machines precisely for their beans to draw the perfect flavour from the grounds. Also the chocolate brownie is very good! And, as a bonus, I just discovered they have a great selection of craft beers in bottles! Good atmosphere also with a chic feel on the interior. Definitely worth a visit if you like good coffee, and also good atmosphere. The service was impeccable too, the gentleman who served me was extremely polite.
A. C.
Wonderful little cafe with the loveliest Jasmine tea and delicious cakes. It's an adorably cozy space with warm and comfortable ambience made even more charming by the stacks of well loved books in corners and on shelves. Well worth a visit, especially on a chilly day!
e.
The homemade Granola & Rich greek yogurt with blueberries is delicious and one of my favourite brunch choices on the menu. Definitely recommend everyone to give this lovely place a visit.
H. S.
What an amazing place to eat, this is right opposite the Travelodge in Covent Garden. Absolutely fabulous service, wonderful food and super ambiance comes together to make one of the best coffee shop experiences you will ever have
J. E.
stopped by after an afternoon in the British museum with a friend shortly before closing. Really nice place! I got a latte and brownie which were both served in ceramic dishes and were both delicious. Definitely recommend!
A. K.
cozy, friendly, quirky place. pastries look lush and taste good. intrigued by different beer selection.
j. w.
Brand new coffee place with great coffee and great looking small plates (eggs Florentine, etc), although we didn't get a chance to try them.
Update: breakfast plates are just as good as they look. Super friendly staff. Mint flavoured water carafes is a nice touch.
K. B.
Really nice vibe om this place. All staff was super friendly and seemed to enjoy their work. Wide selection of tea, and delicios cakes. Brunch looked nice too! Crowded, but still fast service when I visited!
S. R.

Always coming back, whenever there LFW, and I need a supply of yummy brownies, muffins and cakes for my friends !!! Plus a freshly squeezed orange juice, epic coffee and the best breakfast in Covent Garden.
It's always packed with loads of people but..be patient and wait for your spot!!!:))) you won't regret!!:)))
S.
Friendly staff. Relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Great coffee and food, plus the best blueberry muffin ever! This was my first visit and I'll definitely be back 😉👌
Y. M.
Best Coffee, Best Cakes and Best SERVICE. With the warm welcoming greetings and lovely atmosphere you feel like your at home and everyone around is family. 🍰☕️👌
Z. S.
Lovely little coffee shop, if you go alone you can find hundreds of books around to spend your time.
We went there at a really busy time, found a table in a few minutes but one of the staff member asked if we could sit somewhere else - which wasn't really comfy and good for a conversation - so a group could sit together. I wasn't too happy first but the stuff member - forgot to ask his name - made sure that we are satisfied and brought each of us their homemade brownie as a compensation. Let me say I was already surprised about this gesture but even more surprised that the brownie was seriously AMAZING!
I also had a matcha latte with coconut milk and it was really nice, I am not sure what kind of coconut milk they have but I highly recommend it.
Overall we spent a nice few hours there and I would recommend this place if you are around the area.
s. s.
Chanced upon this cafe when I arrived to my hotel earlier and couldn't check in yet - and what a discovery it was! Love the cozy ambiance and decoration surrounded by piles of used books. Staff is extremely friendly and attentive to details. Food and drinks are above average than most cafes. Been there twice during my week-long stay, and wished I could have spent longer time there by just doing nothing...
P. i. S.
Wonderfully hospitable team make this the West End's best cafe. Homemade cakes almost sinful they are so good, while the bacon is the tastiest in London.
F. L.
Very cosy place, with delicious food and pastries, great selection of drinks too!!
The staff are super friendly and helpful too
D. B.
Great environment and service, the waiter could find 2 seats for us even if the place was really busy.
On the other hand, we didn't really like the coffee and the pastries, it actually need an improvement.
A visit is worth anyways.
G. K.
Lovely folk, friendly atmosphere, excellent coffee and fine cakes. What’s not to like?
G. H.
Excellent coffee, excellent and friendly service. Great place :)
E. C.
Lovely place with an amazing team and good brunch food.
I had the French toast which was actually a sweet brioche and I loved it! Good price for a tea pot as well :)
I loved the interior
G. T.
Hidden away is this gem of a place. I work locally and there is always a fast moving queue outside. Diner in, the cafe is very, very hot but the food is delicious! I would definitely recommend and re-visit here soon. Very lovely lunch and coffee options.
J. D.
Lovely hidden gem, great coffee, a fresh orange juice machine..awesome...and the gluten free bread omg amazing. A friendly atmosphere without the stifling pretensions .oh and great range of gluten free cakes, visit this place its bloody great
A. B.
Never thought I would find an equivalent of my all-time favourite breakfast place 'Melqvist' in Stockholm, until I walked into Drury.
Crowded! (Always a good sign). Behind the counter, that is stuffed with delicious freshly baked buns, richly filled with fresh ingredients.
After a 10 minute wait, our table was free, and we enjoy a perfectly cooked scrambled egg with bacon, and fresh made granola with Greek yoghurt. Freshly pressed juices in all imaginable combinations.
And you can taste that the coffee is made with expertise and passion.
Not sure if I saw one Irish in here, but still, it is top of the bill if you want a great breakfast to start off your day.
m. s.
One of my favourite cafes in London. Great cakes, lovely coffee and very nice and easy going staff. Perfect to chill out while eating some delicious cake!
N. B.
By far my favourite cafe in London. Food is amazing, pastries are mouth-watering and the waiters are charming to a T <3
M. B.
A fabulous cosy cafe with delicious pastries and the best chai latte. The staff are all so welcoming and friendly. Will definitely go again on our next visit to London.
L. L.
Cosy cafe filled with yummy food and awesome staff :)
C. P.
Love this place! Good coffee, friendly staff who will go out of their way to seat you when it's busy and an amazing salted caramel brownie! Yum!
A. s.
Excellent all round, from front of house team, to the kitchen this place is really one of the best cafes in London!
I. E.
I like it, the staff is very polite and fun, all meals are delicious.
T. c.
Eco pizza, nice friendly little place food are gorgeous and excellent price...£1.90 for a latte and hot croissant in Central London coffee don't need extra shot..🥰
G. H.
Great little coffee shop, great tasting coffee.
D. A.
The staff is very friendly and the coffee was really good
B. P.
Excellent food, service and people. Besides, the best coffee I've had in London.
T. A.
Very nice, service was great, great welcome and help choosing one of their lovely local brewed beers. Carrot cake was huge slice and tasted lovely as did my wife's gluten free orange & polenta cake.
D. C.
Mixed service, ok drinks, a bit grubby.
C. C.
Amazing French toast and eggs Benedict!
N. B.
Amazing staff with a super positive attitude. The café itself is very unique and the coffees are good. We have not tried the pastries but they seemed very very tempting.
F.
Very good coffee shop! They make a delicious avocado on toast. Very well seasoned!
H.
I love this place. Great food, awesome staff, and super cozy atmosphere!! Their brownies are to DIE for!!! Also the ginger, orange, carrot, and lemon juice is super delicious.. obviously I always want a brownie but I love their juice!!
J. W.
Great coffee. Decent breakfast menu and loads of pastries to choose from. Reasonably priced. If you want to kill an hour reading, this place has a library's worth of books to read!
J. S.
Still my favourite cafe in the area - coffee is good and cakes are delicious. But, the sofa seat at the very back corner can be a "deadzone" if all the surrounding tables are seated. There used to be one less table at the back which gives enough room for that sofa seat guests to exit, but not now. I understand business must be good (which makes me happy to see as I like it here) but space should also be considered. If you can turn one of the four seater table into two seater, that'd be great.
j. b.
Congenial and informal setting, reticent yet quietly effective service. An array of cakes and associated delights, salads and sandwiches.
Noteworthy coffee that fits the bill, reasonable price when you foot the bill.
The effort, care and detailing are apparent here. Recommended
F. Y.
Salmon is sooooo good !appropriate sweetness !
А. Б.
Incredible sandwiches and salads! Lovely staff! Beautiful place!
L. K.
Nice & cozy little coffee place. Tried the cold coffee before waving summer goodbye today :) was really good, snacks look delicious too. Great place to hang out.
W. J.
Exactly what you're looking for when it comes to having a scrumptious fulfilling breakfast, it was so good we went back in the afternoon for hot chocolate and cake. The owners and staff were so warm and friendly, simply amazing !
J. D.
Stopped in here for some lunch on the way to the British Museum. The food was nice enough, but it's very expensive. Also I was a bit concerned, as someone who has recently started a vegetarian diet, that there was a sandwich on sale called a "veg brie ciabatta". I was thrilled, as I love cheese, so finding what sounded to me like a 'vegetarian brie' was very exciting. When I asked the staff, however, it turns out the brie in question was actually just normal brie. I just found that very misleading and unfortunately, despite how helpful the staff were, it left a bit of a negative impression.
R. R.
Lovely, friendly cafe. Great coffee and delicious cakes. Very kind and welcoming staff. Thank you Ali and the gang.
K. M.
Staying for a short time in cities stops you from expecting to find good coffee, Drury 188-189 was recommended to me by a staff from a hostel in which I was staying in. I don't think its just good coffee and homemade food that makes this place recommendable but the warmth of the people here creates an inviting atmosphere; that being in a big city is a major plus. Kudos.
M. S.
Awesome brownie. Excellent coffee. Comfortable brown armchair and friendly service. The antithesis of the chain Cafe but bang in the centre of London.
A. F.
Very good breakfast. Friendly staff and free water included. I took the eggs royale and was very happy with it. Tons of books to read at the table, so it can work well also if you have breakfast alone.
D. L.
Excellent cafe! My family and I love the breakfast here and the food quality is excellent! The coffee here is superb too! Highly recommended ❤
A. B. F.
Wonderful place to take a brownies and hot veg chocolate.
R. M.
The best little find. Stumbled across this place and now is my go to in between shows. Quirky, with great service and a great atmosphere. Due to its popularity, you often have to get lucky to find a seat... especially at peak times.
H. “. H.
Great service, friendly staff, cozy place. Perfect for breakfast or brunch. They have a lot of different options for food. They serve soup, bread, pastery, salads,... And have a great selection of fresh tea's.
G. L.
Great food and nice atmosphere in a central London. Staff was super nice too.
A. M.
Lovely food selection for lunch and cakes for afternoon tea. I enjoyed the quiche and salad. Coffee was disappointing, very bitter, so I would suggest not having it as an expresso or macchiato.
E. N.
I found this spot on Too Good To Go, and I'm so glad I know about it now! The staff are so friendly, and the food is delicious.
R. R.
Always a lovely welcome, good food, great choice of teas and fresh smoothies and the most delicious jam donoughts. Great to have an independent shop in Covent Garden thriving.
M. I.

Great place, breakfast and coffee
I. G.
The atmosphere and design is cozy and comfortable, but the food feels rather home made - you can take it as criticism or a compliment. For me, I’d definitely prefer a more professional chef.
M. F.
Genuine food made by genuine people. It’s a happy place with honest smiles and food.
H. R.
The best Eggs Benedict I have ever had! Absolutely delicious! And the fresh squeezed orange juice is well worth the extra money!

It's a small and cosy cafe... Polite service and all.... But the coffee was very average, I don't get the hype. It tastes like Illy's coffee or something get generic.
