N. S.Super cozy coffee place with a decent view over mile end park. Not too busy, the vibe is chilled and there are sitting ares for all types: regular tables, tall chairs, sofas, etc. Plenty of wall plugs for laptops so working here is definitely possible.
Coffee is great and the food as well. Also, pet friendly!
Z. H.Very friendly staff, and absolutely delicious coffee! I had cold brew today and it had a little hint of sweetness and super rich and indulgent tasting. A much better coffee than you get in chain shops, plus great staff. Also the selection of pastries and sandwiches always looks amazing, their croissants are a buttery delight.

Only problem I can think of is that the frappe I ordered tasted slightly burned, not a lot at all and it was still delicious. This slight mistake was immediately forgiven because the music choice in this place is excellent!

Definitely liked the vibe, much nicer than the typical chain vibe. And there's plenty of plug sockets if you need to charge your phone.

S. M.If You are in the area looking for a nice coffee shop for a quick break or a place to stop with friends for a chat. This is for sure the ideal place. Super chilled, the staff was very nice and a couple of areas to sit outside, one where for smokers and one for nonsmokers. If I'm back in the area for sure I will visit again. Totally recommend.

L. H.absolutely love this coffee shop, I've been coming here time and time again - the flat white is my favourite in the world and I had a flapjack this morning that was the best flapjack I've ever had. I'd also highly recommend the salmon and egg bagel.
M.Firstly, what lovely welcoming people running it. Good customer service coutns for so much. Secondly, the decor, it's a wonderfully interesting mix of photos, picture, and maps on the wall and is made of a mix of modern and classic design items. It makes you want to stay there, maybe on that comfy sofa in the corner. There is a seating type for everyone. The coffee and bacon buttie were both excellent and reasonable value. It's just perfect
L. A.The coffee was excellent and worthy of five stars. However, the food really let it down. I had a bacon panini which was really bland. The bread was dry and the bacon was grey and insipid - not nicely cooked at all. That being said, I would go again as some of the cakes and pastries on the counter looked good.

T. G.Nice coffee, fresh juices and paninis, but prices a bit over high for the area. A pressed juice takes 10/12min so better to be patient. I went on Tuesday and there was two people behind the counter, one of them with a really good customer service, but the other one the opposite.. she was texting while I was talking to her and was impolite.

T. R.Really nice little coffee shop. Lots of food options which is worth mentioning as I'm more into food than coffee. Would really recommend their banana and chocolate chip muffin which they make onsite I believe, either way it's really really good! Mrs is vegan and loves their flapjack too which is incredible!
B. L.Coffee is standard level. I will say the customer service is abit hit and miss. IV had a few orders that have used real milk instead of oat. Then had zero apology. The patisserie are ok. My girlfriend thinks the owner is abit spesh. Not in a good way.lol. a few favourite coffee shops near by which I prefer nkora in bethnal green.(They do plot coffee). The coffee room over the road is also good. Also ozone in bethnal green/ allpress in Shoreditch. If in town Monmouth is always great...I could go on

M. C.This is a perfect place to work. It's got great (locally-roasted) coffee and has plenty of outlets and USB plug-ins. My favourite is the bar-top table in the middle of the shop, which is a good substitute as a standing desk. The staff is friendly and the place didn't get crowded or noisy while I was there on a weekday morning. It's also near Mile End underground station.

The Portuguese custard tarts are also excellent.
The staff are also friendly and helpful. The menu doesn’t change though and there are no daily specials.
P. B.The comrades cafe is unique in Mile End as most of it's neighbours are greasy cafes. Their almond croissants are incredible! So are their smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels. Good spot for brunching solo or grabbing a quick coffee en route to the bus stop or station.

I just cannot fathom why they close so early?! I would love to sit and relax here after work, but they close at like 5 or 6 on weekdays, so anyone with full-time work can only go on weekends. And they close at 3 on Sunday?! Who the hell closes at 3!!?
Given how packed Starbucks (literally 50m away) is with students til late every evening, seems like it would be in their interest to stay open. As I said above, I would love to sit here with my laptop and relax/be productive, but until they change their hours, this amazing space in Mile End is wasted for me, and I'll just have to keep going to Starbucks.
A. S.Calm & friendly atmosphere, with good quality food and service. A lot better (both in terms of atmospherics and food/service standards) than the nearby cafes ran and owned by the big "establishment" players - who sadly, but inevitably perhaps, have become too big to care.

t. f.Superb independent coffee shop with great coffee and varied selection of food! USB sockets available to charge phones and spacious enough as adhoc work/study space. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The playlist is excellent for study/work. I do wish they would be open much later in the day for students and workers coming from the city. As another reviewer pointed out, the nearby Starbucks & Costa are always packed after 5pm.
Highly recommend this place! I sometimes forego working in the city and just stay here.

International Comrades is one of my favourites when I'm in the area; great coffee, great (and helpful) staff, and surprisingly good playlists. I often forgo heading into the City to work instead from this little gem.
N. S.Comrades is a great place for a quick cup or a longer sit - down. There are a variety of seating options and places to charge your devices and it's right next to a bus stop if you need to be on your way quickly.
