Reviews of Luca's Kitchen and Bakery

After my usual place for a Sunday full English closed and everywhere else only offering veggie food to find this hidden gem was a godsend! Staff are friendly, premises clean and bright any my fry up was amazing, probably the best sausage I have ever had! My OH did have the veggie option with fresh OJ and was equally impressed. Well done to all at Luca's 👍😁

This was unexpected visit found whilst searching for the nearby menswear shop 'Meet Bernard' and certainly not disappointed. I ordered the special 'Lumberjack' sourdough waffle based brunch with bacon and fried duck egg which was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Really hard to fault to be honest and just shame I couldn't order two breakfasts. Looking forward to a return in the new year. Also worth mentioning that service was efficient and food cam super quick.

The best brie cranberry and bacon toasted sandwich I've ever had. £5.50 well spent!! My terrible food photography doesn't do the sandwich justice...

Had lunch here today with my friends who are local and have eaten here quite a few times. I was really impressed by everything. Service fast and friendly. Really great choice for vegans like me. Really great food. Plenty of it, really tasty, hot and very good value. We sat outside but from what I could see it looked lovely inside too. 5 stars well earnt! 😊

I went for lunch with my daughters. They had a very big menu so lots of choice. Nice ambience and good service too. I had the linguine which was very tasty. The only thing I wasn't sure about was the mango and passion fruit smoothie as it tasted very sweet and my daughter thought that maybe it had fruit juice in it.

Came here for some brunch. I had the nduja scrambled egg on toast. Must admit it wasn’t the best scrambled egg i have had - i have made better at home. My friend also thought her plain scrambled egg was slightly anaemic. Service was good.

One of the best English Breakfasts in East Dulwich!

Would deffinatly recommend the Chocolate sorbet.

This new place on North Cross road is nicely decorated. It has a cozy atmosphere. The food is nice and the cakes are delicious. I did find the portions a bit small for the price. The waiter got our drinks order wrong and no one was attending to see if we need anything else but whenever we asked for something they were friendly and polite. Just a bit more imitative and this place could be 5 stars.

Pretty decent cafe / bakery. Nice full English, only let down by the lack of black pudding in my opinion! The Berry Dairy smoothie was OK, but too much emphasis on the dairy and not the berries. Service was fine, albeit a tad on the slow side. I'll definitely go back to see what else they have to offer.

Really good menu! Decent setting with plenty of indoor seating. Staff friendly and most importantly GOOD FOOD. The place is tucked away on a quaint little street off the main road. Nice strip of small businesses all offering one off quality products and this spot definitely adds to the area. Will def come back for a breakfast/lunch meal.

Very good range of cafe style dishes, well cooked and with friendly serving staff. Healthy and veggie options. Prepared on site, including baking.

Have been twice for coffee (takeaway) and both times have been excellent.
We went once for breakfast on their opening weekend and it was a little poor. I suspect elements of the full english had been pre-cooked and then "warmed" and the avocado on toast was poor in comparison to others in the area.
That said, it was their opening weekend, so I'm not judging them too hard and we will happily return. Look forward to improving my rating afterwards!

Went for Sunday brunch and the food was very good!
Full English and House scrambled eggs with pepper, onions and feta.

One of the best local cafes in London - whether it's for the 'Hangover' breakfast, waffles, apple cake, gelato or a smoothie. The sourdough bread is so good that even though we recently moved from the area, we come back regularly to pick some up. Run by wonderful people, making wonderful food - it's that simple.

The staff is exceptionally nice. The food is correct, not overcomplicated fresh and good portions

Food tasted okay, quite small portions. Coffee was quite bitter, took a long while for food to come, prices very much suited for the more affluent wallet...

Good quality food, polite and friendly staff.

Luca's is one of my favourite cafes in East Dulwich. They bake the most incredible sourdough bread on site, which makes even toast and jam feel like a special treat. Their pastel de nata (Portuguese custard tarts) and gelati, both also made on site, are delicious.
It's not a huge cafe, but there are quite a few small tables inside, as well as a handful outside at the front. The ceiling is quite low, but the light is lovely and they often have displays of work by local artists (currently Fran Giffard). Staff are very friendly and good at what they do.
Access: Completely level access from the street through a wide (but not heavy) front door, and all one level inside. Staff are happy to move chairs to accommodate a wheelchair and there's enough space to move around comfortably between tables inside, even in a fairly large electric wheelchair.

Great local cafe, very good coffee, cake and other foods, italian ice cream and even Kimchii, interesting menu reflecting SE London's diversity but also excellent breakfasts !

One of my favourite local places. I first visited when flat-hunting with my partner and immediately knew it would be somewhere we would go often when we found a place in the neighbourhood. From the bread to the gelato, cakes, smoothies and lunch dishes: everything I've ordered from Luca's has been delicious and the staff are incredibly warm and friendly.

Amazing staff, best ice-cream and coffee.

Great cafe with brilliant food and very friendly service.
With its Italian background, you can get some delicious pasta here as a decent lunch, or have a toasted sandwich – the brie, bacon, and cranberry is my favourite.
A few seats outside, and gets very busy at the weekends with the brunch crowd. Great for takeaway too if you want to get a coffee and a bite to eat on the go.

Best veggie sausage sandwich, delicious fruit based frozen granitas (recommend lemon and raspberry combo) and moist tasty banana and peanut butter vegan cake. Also meat options so caters for everyone. Surprised by the outstanding quality of everything we ordered! Will definitely be going back soon!

Cracking hangover breakfast! Worth trying the new pancakes and banana & coconut smoothie too!

Love this place a lot. A great menu with some great options & flavour combinations. A bit different to standard brunch menus & that’s what makes it unique & tasty. I wanted to eat the whole menu! Coffee & tea selection is superb too. Cakes yummy. I had soup & it was delicious. Definitely recommended. Really great space too. Friendly staff & just really welcoming inside. Great vegan & vegetarian options which makes me happy.

Always enjoy coming back here for their gelato, but also their pastas and even the English breakfast! Good vegan options too.
