A very cute bakery café, a warm welcoming comfy environment to relax and unfold in. A very minimalistic chic vibe. We ordered the mint hot chocolate, 2 teas and 2 cinnamon social slices. The mint hot chocolate was rich and creamy, extremely decadent. The cinnamon socials were extraordinary ! Very much up to its hype.

I love the bakery. I would highly recommend the cinnamon social. The staff are kind too. I got the festival buns and personally preferred the vanilla to mocha one as the mocha one was too bitter.

Love Ole and Steen- great coffee and really yummy selection of food and pastries. A great place to work with fast WiFi and friendly staff. My only criticism is that they don't wipe the tables down frequently- mine was covered in crumbs which isn't ideal with a laptop.

Literally this contest wouldn't be official until I upload my review. Because coffee is my thing. I have passed by and looking inside this place many times and finally today I took the time to come inside grab a coffee and a Chocolate Chip brownie to go along with it. It is a big space with huge windows and a lot of light. Open Space. Nice environment. Great music. Ole & Steen is just next to Trafalgar Square and almost on China Town in London. I visited it at a busy time and it was noisy and full but still very pleasant to be in there getting some work done. The Chocolate Brownie was delicious but the coffee a little bit disappointing. It was not too bad but also nothing surprisingly good. Average I would say. Price wise. Expensive. But no surprises there it is Central London so You are paying for the Post code. The staff looked so over it but still everyone was nice and very helpful. A nice place to stop and get a sweet and a coffee to warm up and maybe stay for a little bit talking with friends or even if You need to get some work done. Most likely when I'm around if I need a coffee I will pop in again.

The staff are always friendly. I’ve tried several items and I recommend the ham&cheese flatbread, mushroom spinach flatbread (this one is even better), mango passion fruit smoothie is AMAZING and when it comes to coffee I’ve only had their mocha and it’s delicious both iced and hot. I don’t recommend the hot chocolate though, it’s too watery and dead.

I was walking past until my attention was caught by these wonderful looking pastries. I gave in and had to go inside to try. There were small sample pieces and I was sold instantly. Bought a variety to take away and try at my leisure. These are absolutely wonderful pastries. There are a few artisan bakeries around, their pastries packed with butter but fillings are on the light side. Here I find the opposite. Less smell and taste of butter. More flavours from the fillings. I have become a very big fan now. Coffee, cake and cookies were all nice. Had to try 😊

If I could I would give 10 stars. This is probably the best coffe I have ever had in London. Once you go there,you will never go to Costa,Starbucks... and I dont want to name the rest,not sure they should be mentioned. Staff very professional even when is busy,I've had one coffee and some kind of cinnamon pastry and couple of hours later I have returned to have another one. It is absolutely amazing,Im impressed with idea of this business the way their shops look. Unfortunately there is not many of them at the moment. Thanks

My second visit to an Ole & Steen and a different branch from my first. Can honestly say that the service was exceptional yet again and the cinnamon social slice was purely divine. Cut through the perfectly golden and crisp top to reveal a beautifully soft inside. The cinnamon tones combined with the icing drizzle are something else. Definitely my favourite pastry and will be my go to for a weekend treat!

I have a huge emotional attachment to Denmark, having spent a few years working with clients from Copenhagen. There was a branch of Ole and Stean round the corner from their studio and I developed a huge taste for open sandwiches and Danish pastries. So when I emerged from Leicester Square tube and headed up Charing Cross Road instead of through Chinatown I was delighted to find this. The ambience is very Danish (dark wood as opposed to light wood for a Swedish place) and the food is on point. The coffee is good too, so if you're bored of US or Italian style coffee chains, drop in here.

Danish bakery Ole & Steen has opened a flagship store on Charing Cross Road, London. The 3,000 sq ft bakery is in the corner unit of Central Cross Shaftesbury’s £15m, 48,000 sq ft mixed-use development at the heart of London’s West End. Spread over two floors the new bakery has space for 63 covers. Menu items include Ole & Steen’s signature Danish pastries, such as the Cinnamon Socials, alongside an all-day menu featuring Danish skyr and bircher muesli pots for breakfast and open rye bread sandwiches and focaccias for lunch. Hot drinks, beer and wine are also available. The new store is the bakery brand’s ninth site in the capital since coming to the UK in 2016. It also has a site in Oxford. “It’s a really fantastic opportunity for us to open our latest store at Central Cross on Charing Cross Road. Being situated right in the heart of the West End was a huge draw for us, and the location benefits from its connections and multi-cultural, engaged audience,” said Camilla Hansen, head of openings at Ole & Steen.

Ole & Steen offers a change to busy Charring Cross Road. Split across two levels the ground floor is a light and airy atrium with large windows. The second level offers more private seating. While the menu is extensive, the star in the baked goods category is three types of "socials" - long Danish shareable pastry (six pieces), known as Kanelstang in Denmark. The chocolate croissant and cream cakes are great as well. Recommended dishes for breakfast - salmon & egg power pot. Recommended for lunch are seven types of toasties. However, the Scandinavian baked goodness comes at a price. Compared to the prices of other bakery shops in the area, Ole & Steen is on the expensive side. The service at the tills is slightly abrupt but the staff on the floor is always friendly and accessible.

A good place to have a coffee and unwind. It's quite new coffee shop/restaurant. Comfortable seating and choice of breads and cakes are great. The coffee love it! We were buying on Tesco and since it was raining and cold we decided to have breakfast on there. What we didn't know is that we would really enjoy being there. The food was so good and delicious, I'm not a coffee drinker so I have never had a drawing on my drinks until that day. I got really excited about having my hot chocolate with a drawing on it, it made me sad that it was so cute that I didn't want to drink it at all. The place was very clean and it offers free water. The staff was very lovely and helpful.

This is great cafe for people wandering around London wanting to try something new, I had the tea and the carrot break/scone cake. The tea was made well without the rubbish taste that some takeout "restaurants" will give you. The staff were kind and the seating was great, comfortable and charging sockets next to some seats as an added bonus. The floor plan was well thought out and could gold many people while still allowing plenty of moving space.

My favourite café in London without a doubt. Not only does this place look amazing from the outside, the inside is so warm and cosy. Not warm as in temperature, but the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. My go-to is the fruit tea (berry)- they give you the tea in a cute ceramic mini teapot and two cups. There are about three cups worth in the teapot I’d say, so the value is great. The berry tea is honestly the best I’ve had- it’s the main reason I go to this café! Wish I could buy the teabags. Oh well.

Maybe it's because this is located on the very busy Charing Cross Road with a huge amount of walk ins, but this was not the best afternoon coffee experience I have had in an Ole & Steen. There were no glasses by the free water dispenser. When I got to the counter to make my coffee order, I asked for a glass. The staff member said no, there were glasses by the dispenser. I thought I had made a mistake so after placing my order, I went back to check. No glasses. Re-joined another queue to ask for a glass and the same staff member said that they would replenish the glasses. She was standing next to a huge tray of glasses and clearly didn't have the gumption to simply pass one over. I then had to queue again to receive my order. My friend and I then struggled to find a table that had been cleaned and cleared. There just wasn't enough staff working so the whole experience wasn't great.

Always a fan of coffee after brunch and Ole & Steen is a Swedish company which I love but I must say the sweet offerings I love more. Try the yule log which is rich and sweet. Worth getting one to share rather than have a full one. You'll thank me later.

Cafe is really nice, price wise its a bit much. Coffee and mushroom toastie was £10 alone. Came with baby, place is baby friendly but their lift was faulty and baby changing facilities was downstairs so it was a hassle carrying baby with changing bag down the stairs. Also it was frustrating having to type in a code when you got a crying baby in your arms!

Like the other branches of the store this cafe has a sleek interior with mezzanine floors. Whilst there is ample seating it can get very busy with tourists and workers on laptops or in meetings. However, whilst takeway is available sitting in does offer a busy buzz of an atmosphere. Everything is excellent, except for the service. It seems everyone is bored or in a bad mood, especially the French lady. I ordered a Ham and Cheese Tostie, but I didn’t realised it had French Mustard (a lot!!!). I asked the staff for mayo to counteract the strong flavour but they didn’t even make an effort to look for it and I only got a fake apology and a face saying “I’m not gonna do anything else for you”. Although it was my bad, I was expecting an alternative solution or at least an effort. PS: The food ingredientes on the small signs are in a very tiny font size and in a light grey color. Watch out!

So im giving this place 5 big big stars, but not for the obvious reasons. Yes it has delicious foods, yes it does come with dirty cutlery (no extra charge for that), it does have three legged tables (so someone is always uncomfortable), it does have stylish Danish interiors, but these are all obvious, tangible qualities of any review (yawn) No, what I want to share with you today is the entertainment, the fantastic level of choreography that goes into making the place look totally disorganised! It's a delight to watch. I watch 5 people milling around an espresso machine, all very busy, all focused, but no coffee comes out of this cloud of arms and feet. One guy makes the coffee, another guy steams milk, a third guy assembles the two. Plates are collected diligently, but trolleys full of dirty ones are queued up next to diners. And the elaborate numbering and serving system...again, lots of people taking orders, but no orders actually getting taken. It's weird, it's a confounding defiance of basic thermodynamics, and it's a treat to watch in detail if you have a spare hour or so. Everyone's nice, everyone's smart, everyone's helpful, it's all just........weird. But beautifully choreographed. (PS, Ole & Steens are all like this, so do please visit your local)
