Reviews of Prufrock Coffee
M. J. K.
Superb coffee selection with a deeply knowledgeable staff. The bright decor convinced us to stay for brunch and we were not disappointed. My perfectly poached eggs Benedict fueled the remainder of the day
N. S.
I went there for my afternoon coffee. The staff is so friendly. I had a cup of flat white and a green tea latte. It's really good. I love it
S. B.
Honestly the best coffee experience I've had anywhere. The staff are clearly experts in their craft, providing high quality service and advice. The coffee itself is superb, both in the espresso based drinks and for filter coffee options (I had kalita, but I think V60 and other methods are offered). A better selection of natural-processed and light roast coffees than a lot of espresso bars offer, and you can buy a lot of the coffees they use to take home yourself (but don't expect budget prices - the bag of kilimanjaro natural was £19, but it provides some of the sweetest, fruitiest coffee I've had the pleasure of brewing myself at home).
If you like coffee, it's a "must-visit" café. Just be prepared to wait a little for the food, as they're a popular place that's always busy. Definitely worth the wait though.
D. W.
A cafe for serious coffee-heads, great for quality filter coffees. A good spot for square mile coffee beans too, with the whole collection available to buy. Would be great to try the food next time
e.
Not been here since they redecorated. Still top quality coffee and food. Staff amazingly friendly and helpful as you would expect from Prufrock. The Prufrock vegen breakfast bun was awesome. Great to return to this vibe 😊
A.
Love their staff! They were awesome ♥️
I have got a banana bread, it was super and there filtered coffee was good.
Definitely will visit the place again
T. M.
The best brewed coffee I’ve had in London. They have 3 choices for roasts from various local roasters. Excellent breakfast options as well. Great service. The price is worth it.
t.
Very tasty espresso drinks and filter coffee, but I popped in for a to-go coffee the other week and ended up waiting 20 minutes for a cap? There was a group of three people in front of me, who were also waiting for their to-go coffees and from what I’ve gathered they arrived much earlier than me. I am by no means expecting a drink right away, and I’m willing to wait for good coffee, but I think the whole point of getting it to go is to speed up the process. If I were informed that it would take that long, I’d simply stop by somewhere else - problem solved. All in all, I think I’ll be back? But for a seat-down coffee and meal as opposed to a quick cup.
T. P.
This is my new favourite cafe! Honestly the loveliest staff, probably best coffee I ever had in London, and taste sensation of Bircher muesli with cocoa nibs and rhubarb. Truly fantastic- thanks for the best start to the week!
J. G.
Always having the top notch coffee here, love the changing coffee menu. Food is always very nice, although it is on the pricey side (portions are quite small). Service can be a bit slow with just 2-3 people.
N.
Lovely cafe with excellent coffee and grub. They have really wonderful baristas and wait staff, and with all the pandemic restrictions, they've made the place still feel friendly but in a COVID-safe environment. In normal times, it's a wonderful place to meet up for a coffee, hopefully we can get back to those times soon!
H. H.
Outstanding cafe. Great atmosphere for social or work meetings, friendly staff, welcoming vibe, oh and delicious strong, frothy 75.% cacao hot chocolate plus GF, vegan options.

#BringBackSodaBread
The new corn bread is not bad... but the soda bread was something that this place had that was unique!
The coffee is good, the chocolate I would recommend to have it with oat milk (slightly sweeter) and the food is always great.
C. M.
Some of the best coffee and tea around. Table service as well although I will say I’ve had to get up almost every time I want something (depends where you sit). Some gimmicky stuff is actually good, for once, like the PSL. The food is nice and well considered too although perhaps in some ways pricey even for the additional effort they go to. Close to Chancery Lane Tube Station and they have sockets to plug laptops into and WiFi for a bit of light work (which they don’t seem to mind). Highly recommended!
L. D.
Great coffee and food. I've only been on weekends, normally the place is pretty busy and sometimes the service gets a little slow or it might be hard to get a waiter's attention. Really worth a visit, nonetheless.
D. L.
Great coffee and a hidden gem - always nice to have high quality coffee in central. Good selection of coffee, nice pastries and Pump Street Chocolate on sale too.
K. K.
Excellent coffee and food. Very kind service.
R. C.
A lovely space and an absolute must for any coffee lover. Superb selection of filter, perfectly poured. We will be returning for brunch.
C. F. R.
Really attentive staff and one of the best coffees you can get in London, but pastries were a let-down. The croissant we got did not have a flaky interior and felt like leftovers from the day before. Will be back to try their banana bread
J. N.
Nice coffee shop! Been wanting to come here for a while. Great tasting coffee; yummy banana bread (you can ask for it to be toasted and buttered, though it is a bit expensive at £4 and a shame that it is vegan but they front have vegan butter); and really good cooked food! The espresso hollandaise eggs benny was fantastic (suuuuper thick bacon slices!), as was the mushrooms on toast (it's actually a lot more impressive than it sounds).
Their COVID precuations are good (track and trace, hand sanitising on entry, masks by all staff, good distance between tables, etc).
All but one of the staff that we engaged with were nice and had good customer service. Just the one who seemed a little.... off. Not exactly rude, but just not warm and welcoming like the others.
B. W.
I moved here last year and have been looking for a local coffee shop where I can work from or relax when needed. I've visited a lot of the "best coffee shops in London" and for me, this one takes the cake. The staff is always courteous and helpful, and everything from the tables and chairs, to the toilets, is consistently clean. The atmosphere is homey without being stifling, and the layout is very conducive to getting work done (there are outlets under the tables along the wall). A big issue for me in coffee shops is always the blaring music, yet here the music is always tasteful and at an appropriate background level. Most importantly, the drinks, as well as the food, are seriously high quality, along with being very well priced (especially given their location in London). My search is over and this is my place.
E. H.
A very pleasant experience. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and the coffee shop has a laid-back vibe. Excellent quality coffee. Will definitely be back 👍🏻
W. W.
Prufrock is one of the highlights of my trip to London. I ordered the field mushrooms on toast with aioli and Graceburn cheese for breakfast, it was so good I could cry. The cheese complimented the mushrooms perfectly! Definitely one of the best breakfasts (and mushrooms) I’ve had it London. Coffee bean used for my cappuccino was Red Brick, the layers of flavour that unfold on my palette was very interesting. It was a good cuppa coffee that made me so happy I had to order a second cup before leaving. Their range of merchandises amazes me, with a huge variety of coffee beans and chocolates to choose from; I had a hard time choosing them because everything was calling out to me I bring them home.
Thank you for making such good breakfast and coffee that makes the people happier when they leave your cafe. To the lovely lady at the counter who answered my questions about the beans they were served and the beans I was buying, thank you for being patient. You have a genuine smile that brightens people’s day.
This is a cafe I would visit again and recommend to friends in London.
m. t.
Their coffee used be one of the best in London. I only went there if I was around the area but recently it’s not consistent. Depends on who makes coffee…. I feel new baristas are not as good as old ones.
Especially oat milk latte and flat white are Russian roulette. Sometimes is good sometimes is not good. I keep 4 stars as I still like the cafe but hopefully they can keep up the quality…
A.
Amazing quality and such a vibrant atmosphere.
Edit: Still lovely quality coffee and produce but it has become extremely short of staff which has resulted in poor service. I have removed one star due to this. Turnover seems high and staff always look run of their feet. This is a great café but if management fail to adequately increase the staff to customer ratio, I fear my loyalty to this place will fade.
T. R.
I always walk by and wanted to check it out. Great coffee served with friendly staff quick with orders, reasonably priced we had a great experience and will be returning in the future. They are open early if you want to see for yourself greatest coffee in London. Good service.
S. J.
Great coffee and great pastries. Service is quick and always with a smile. If you're in Farringdon it's a great spot to either sit in or grab something quick on the go. They're also dog friendly as well. Would highly recommend.
N. G.
I must have died while walking down Leather Lane because at some point I found myself in Coffee Heaven!
Shelves of coffee beans, coffee making paraphernalia, specialty chocolate, and books adorn this popular place to sip a killer espresso.
I had the house oat flat white which was lovely and decided to try the guest blend too. I had this as an espresso and it was definitely the best I’ve ever tried.
I’ll be back here, without a doubt!
N. P.
Worked from this place for a few hours in between meetings in town, googled “good coffee shop to work from”, Prufrock came up and this place is great for just that!
Was busy with other laptop-ers when I arrived around lunchtime, but I managed to find a booth at the back, with no complaints of it being just me on a 2/4 person table from the staff.
Really good coffee, eggs benedict with big slabs of gravlax was delicious, add to that a few cups of tea, it all came to a clean £20. Thought that was good for central London! And I’ve lived here for over 10 years!
Staff were attentive, very polite and not at all intrusive - I didn’t feel like I HAD to keep buying more to stay working there, which means so much to someone as socially anxious as me! Lovely to see that they don’t rush people out either, when they come to close at 4.30 - stay open an hour later, reckon you’d get the customers!!
Only small complaint was that it got quite cold having both front doors open - had to put my coat on while working in the last hour, which I could see lots of other customers doing too. Not worth docking a point off for though.
Oh and it’s got good Wifi!!
Would come back, would recommend as a good independent coffee shop to meet friends in or work from.
S. K.
Best coffee in London, a real paradise.
edit: I visited again after a long hiatus, and what I know of this place has completely changed. Apparently this place has been bought and now run by Square Mile Coffee Roasters. You can now have brunch and other things which is fun but the air of stoicism and the art and dedication they gave in Prufrock is gone. The coffee was fine but nothing special.
S. C.
Lovely and lively little coffee shop in Farringdon.
Nice simplistic look and feel plus the freiendly staff make the experience great and you know your get a great coffee then.
Had a latte which was top quality from the taste to the presentation plus I had some food which was a ham, bean and poach egg on toast combo which was amazing!!! Plus it didn’t cost loads.
Good place for meeting friends and maybe business lol
5 Star all the way
L. R.
The best coffee I've had in London and an amazing place to relax and work on Leatherlane.
The food is also great. The staff are also super friendly and super quick.
A. w.
Excellent choice of filter coffees, staff are extremely knowledgeable and attentive. The space is beautifully designed. In any case Purfrock is perfect example of eveything a modern coffee shop should be.
G. Z.
Lovely space to get work done with very kind service. The coffee is excellent while the tea is decent but comes in very small cups while being rather pricy.
The banana bread apparently is delicious, unfortunately the croissant I tried (almond) was pretty dry.
L. A.
Friendly, prompt service. Their coffee isn't to my taste, being a more modern blend (I'm a trad dark roast coffee drinker) but the hot chocolate was good.
T. W.
Lovely ambience, good food and coffee and happy folks serving the customers. Thank you!
M. S.
I tried filter and espresso and both were really great.
The food was fresh and they had a unique spin on English breakfast.
The place is very clean which is a nice change from most places in London.
10/10, everything you'd want in a café 🙂
R. E.
This is my usual place when I have breakfast out - always delicious coffee, and the eggs on toast is almost always perfect, and always decently priced.
N.
Consistently the best cup of coffee around here, with additional benefits: the staff are amazing (and baristas very knowledgeable about their coffee), the atmosphere is great, and the food is delicious.
M. T.
The perfect coffee shop! Ample seating, mix of people working (me) and people catching up. I had a really good Kombucha (bottled by Jarr) and they also had great brunch bites. I had a great salmon egg toast! Most of the businesses were closed in the area (I was there on a Sunday), but this was the gem I was looking for
L. K.
Lovely little cafe.
Just chanced upon it while walking the food markets to get lunch. Didn't look too busy and the boyfriend and I were craving coffee.
Funny we didn't end up getting coffee in the end but it was a great little impromptu brunch.
The gravlax was absolutely wonderful. The toast it was on was a little over cooked and hard to cut with a knife but in pieces was easy enough to eat. Boyfriend got a cheesy sandwich. We both got the limited edition Shiga black tea from asamiya Japan which was so florally and sweet.
Highly recommend this place and when I'm in the area again, I will definitely revisit
d. C.
Good coffee but they play pop music too loud for comfort of customers
J. F.
Good quality coffee and friendly staff, much better than your average chain. Inside nothing overly fancy but just decent quality coffee made with care
C. G.
It was an amazing place. Unfortunately the last time I was there I was disappointed on the coffee flavour. It seems that the coffee machine was not clean properly or regularly. I visited this place a few times before lockdown and it blew my mind the great coffee quality. I guess I will give it another chance once ease lockdown restrictions.
B. H.
The food was delicious, and the coffee was even better.
Staff were friendly and attentive.
C. L.
I was craving some egg dish for breakfast and so I casually walk into this place. I look at the menu and I just order the first thing I see which was the poached eggs with some kale leaves. To myself I said “Wow that’s some bs hipster dish” because I thought that’s a lot of money for just some eggs, bread and kale. When the waiter comes to bring me the food, he added the comment “This is really really good” as he points at the five big leaves of kale. Again, I just thought yeah yeah how great can it be. Oh boy. Turns out, the kale is actually divine. I have no clue how they do it but it tastes just so so good *tears up*.
TL;DR: Try their kale.
M.
Great coffee place, friendly staff and cool place for a cup of amazing coffee and work on your laptop. Went there for lunch and coffee and the place was busy with people working on their laptops 💻 ☕️ most people go there for their coffee but their food is also not to miss 🥪 🥘! 👌🏼
Y. C.
Amazing filter coffee and great pastry.
H. E.
Great coffee place, friendly staff and cool place for a cup of amazing coffee and work on your laptop. Went there for lunch and coffee and the place was busy with people working on their laptops 💻 ☕️ most people go there for their coffee but their food is also not to miss! 👌
J. N.
The coffee is perfect. Milk is frothed to perfect sweetness and coffee isn't burnt. Loved it so much that I had it every day when I was in London. Food menu is simple but tasty with a nice selection of cakes and pastries.
J. R.
Speciality coffee shop with all the bells and whistles. Top quality coffee beans and equipment for sale. Just had a sweet treat with my V60 and was tasty. Staff friendly and helpful.
M. G.
They pull some darn good espressos and brew a mighty fine cup of drip coffee. Super knowledgeable baristas!
The take on an eggs Benedict was also delicious.
V. A.
I usually go into the shop for a quick coffee, but I decided to try their tea and food. I went for the stonerolled green tea latte with oat milk and it was similar to matcha. The pumpkin soup stole the show though. I couldn’t believe how good it was! Completely vegan without the topping and so good. Definitely coming back for this!
B. K.
Come for the coffee, stay for the food.
This cafe is a pilgrimage for some, with one of its owners being a YouTube and coffee industry personality. The coffee is obviously sublime but a stand out is the mocha. Sometimes scoffed at or overlooked, this one uses craft artisan single origin chocolate paired with Square Mile coffee. A true delight.
I expected the coffee to be world class (and it was) but I didn't expect the food to be on almost equal footing. Brilliant place for a weekend breakfast.
J. I.
Amazing coffee, made by truly skilled and passionate baristas. Stop in for an espresso based drink, or a delicious guest filter. The espresso milkshakes are also utterly delicious. They also host events, training, and are a must visit for speciality coffee fans.
J. R.
Cracking little cafe. Friendly staff, busy, bustling atmosphere. Great coffee. I didn't eat here but it looked good.
A. R.
Came here as was just looking for somewhere close that was open on a Saturday this morning and I’m so glad I did! Great coffee and insanely good brunch. Lovely staff. Highly recommend and will make detours to come back again.
S. B.
Yes, check it, not just another coffee shop!
I've discovered it via European Coffee Trip, definitely one of the top coffee experiences in London. We served Flat White, it was well defined, good balanced coffee maybe could be a bit warmer the milk, at least for my taste.
C. J.
Too busy, too expensive, but REALLY good coffee and pastries. Great service, too. I guess that explains it. ☕
C. M.
Easily one of the best coffee's I've tasted. Food options were delicious and really good value. Helpful, informative staff and a really great vibe.
C. C. L.
Had takeaway iced latte in a hot afternoon. The staff was easy to talk with. Their iced latte not a big cup, nevertheless the taste is rich and refreshing! The salted caramel pastry was a delight!
L. L.
The pioneers of specialty coffee in London! My favourite coffee place! Love the coffee, the place and the staff! ❤️
C. C.
Coffee is nice and strong. Lots of care put into it. The service was lovely. Wifi works great and plenty of seating. Will try the pastries next time.
T. M.
Relatively hipster cafe but has its charm. You can buy all sorts of coffee making equipment and goodies there.
Would really appreciate if they had vegan cake or lunch options available (without having to modify something else on the menu)
A. J. S.
Nice shop
I was visiting from Canada I had coffee here a few times and breakfast the oatmeal was great with stewed plums and granola. 👏👏
R. F.
Breakfast absolutely delicious. They use specific kind of eggs and they are so so yummy. Very tasty! I will come back sure
M. K.
One of the best coffee shops in town. Square mile beans is a stable there. They also source other beans.
J. d. G.
Wanted to have a cup of the batch filter coffee, and received two cups for free as it was over two hours old and they were not going to make more. It was absolutely delicious still. Very generous and honest. Bought a slice of the orange cake instead, which was very nice as well. Recommended!
C. O.
I have coming here for nearly 6 years since moving to Clerkenwell. The coffee is the best in London. Fantastic. The food is delicious and has evolved over the last few years to be one of my favourite go to lunch and early evening dining stops. The staff are always great. Gentle, courteous, warm and lovely people. All in all a must for locals and visitors alike!
S. G.
Not worth visiting. Coffee sometimes good, sometimes not. Service sometimes good, sometimes not
A. W.
Yes my photos are just dogs at Prufrock but cmon! Look at them.
This place is up there with the best coffee in London that I have had. Awesome vibes and friendly staff. They also have a variety of barista courses you can do either just for yourself or team bonding events.
S. M.
Very nice coffee, very prompt service. The cups aren't recyclable which is a shame.
E.
A haven for proper coffee fans with an excellent range of beans and coffee paraphernalia available to buy, in addition to delicious snacks, brunch and coffee.
F. T.
Friendly service and good coffee. Got the flat white, which was well made, but the roast was a bit too dark for my taste.
V. H.
Excellent coffee, super friendly service, and warm atmosphere.
L. H.
One of the best coffee in town! Loved how they brewed my coffee and I am sure I will come back here for more coffees! I love the place and crews too for providing extra fast service.
M. B.
Good V60 coffee and the best almond croissant I’ve ever had.
T. S.
Great range of quality coffee.
Fantastic breakfast menu
K. B.
Great coffee, good environment. Staff a little slow, but worth it
A. M.
Decent coffee, but too milky for my taste. The white chocolate pecan cookie was too dry for my liking. It wasn't chewy at all.
A. S.
Nice coffee. Quite a lot of space inside, but not so many seats. The food looks very instagramable.
J. O. (.
Great coffee, great food, super recommend the breakfast menu!
F. A.
Loved their coffee and details at the place , I was happy to get some boston chocolate discs 😅.. I’ll defiantly go back
P. L.
Fantastic coffee, as always! Been coming here for years, love the addition of Affogato 👍 great new decor too, super comfy! 😀
l.
Prufrock is one of the best places to get absolutely delicious specialty coffee and good food. The staff is very welcoming. One of my favourite places in London
M. L.
Serious espresso with excellent flavour profile... setting a high bar for others coffee shops in the area
C. B.
Good coffee shop, spacious inside and easy to met up or good space to work
A. R.
If you're in the area on a Sunday morning and in need of a serious coffee fix (oh, and incredible waffles) then this is your place.
s. b.
Amazing place to learn about coffee. Their filter coffee is always very interesting and the staff really know their stuff. Always busy with a great atmosphere
J. C.
Really like the tea lattes here. Had an oolong latte; it’s called stonerolled tea with milk on the menu.
Y.
The v60 coffee was fantastic, the delicate notes of papaya were showcased really well. A wide selection of coffee beans to buy here.
I. R.
Cosy vibe and great drinks. Staff is very friendly. Had a delicious home made granola!
W. L.
Always a favorite! Superb coffee and equally impressive service.
O. O.
One of the best coffee I ever had in London. I feel, it's worth paying for the food served.
I see people are social and quite noisy during lunch but it's enjoyable when you go with friends and family, you'd love the place.
G. H.
Asked for a 1:1 espresso, got one, plus a normal for reference. Excellent customer service, great speciality coffee, high quality equipment, skilled staff. 5*
N. H.
Ordered mocha and espresso, staff very friendly.
Mocha was using real chocolate(from cocoa runners!) which is great but the ratio of milk to coffee/chocolate was way too much so it was a bit underwhelming as all I tasted was milk.
Espresso was fairly nice with sweet notes but was slightly bitter and watery, this could have been due to the fairly large yield.
H. S.
Great coffee.
Good Seating.
S. G.
Nice independent coffee shop, haven’t been for a long time, so I can’t offer an overly detailed review on this one.
Definitely left with the impression it was one of the better coffee shops I’d been to. Will call back soon and update this review. I know you guys rely on me.
M. W.
Beautiful 3rd wave coffee shop with wooden floor and comfy yet minimalistic interior.
R. A.
Great coffee, nice staff, good food. The seats aren't comfortable but you can't have it all eh.
L. H.
Best coffee I've had during my vacation in England!
S. N.
Great coffee, good vegan options and definitely try their summer breeze drink: 10/10
C.
Not a fan of their coffee, not v flavourful / couldn’t drink it
R. L.
Love this indie coffee shop on Leather Lane. Their hot chocolate is delicious and they have a lot of space for meeting up and it's great for work meetings when you want a change of environment. It's a bit noisy though if you want to try and work there long-term throughout the day.
A. R.
Stumbled upon (well, looked at reviews but still). Fiiiine coffee. You won't find better on either continent I've tried. And a comfortable place. So please don't visit or it'll be crowded for me.
T. H.
Pros: good coffee, nice atmosphere, decent food
Cons: unusually for London it's table service only and the service is glacial and disinterested. Getting anything takes ages... it's also expensive even for London
Would be better if they went to self serve and cut the prices.
K. G.
Definitely my favourite coffee bar in London. Looking forward to visit London again. Normally we were in London in April but we had to cancel our trip because of the Corona pandemic. Hopefully we can come next year.
P. A.
EDIT: Our recent visit was terrible - largely due to the staff. Maybe they’ve taken more on with it being Christmas, but the girl who brought our food, then coffee, and then took everything away when we were finished managed to somehow do it without speaking a single word to us. Odd!
—————
A must-visit if you're in London and are in search of excellent coffee. I occasionally make my way over from East London on a Saturday morning - they serve Square Mile coffee and it's consistently delicious.
Their breakfast / brunch options are also great (though slightly on the pricey side)
S. S.
Good vibes, good décor, good coffee! Who's needs more? Great place to chill and take a break before heading back to the chaos of central London.
M. C.
I loved my coffee here, it was expertly made and the service is top. I drink a lot of coffee and this is the nicest I have had in London. They have a very good collection of teas as well.
The food was of very good quality and cooked very well.
Cost wise it is a little bit more then I like paying but I was happy paying for it and I would visit again.
Ok, love you bye!
Z. V.
Great place. Best place for coffee. Great atmosphere. Services was amazing.
F. J.
Although the place is quite expensive, the coffee is fantastic here. There are genuinely coffee-savvy people behind a bar. When all customers are served, the crew always seems busy making coffee, tasting it and finding ways to make it even better, and I love that!
If you love coffee, you need to drink it here, before you leave London.
S. R.
Disappointing for what is supposed to be the best coffee in London. Could have been due to who was on bar that day, but I think stand out specialty coffee shops have to nail it, or come pretty close every single time. Went twice on my trip and both times it was the same. Cappuccino was overly milky, and milk had funky taste to it, possibly scalded.
E. R.
Some the best coffee I've ever had. The filter coffee is pricey but well worth it. It is also worth staying for some food. The breakfast is superb, especially the pea and tarragon on sourdough. The pastry items are also to die for. I went 3 days in a row.
r. h.
Best coffee in London. Just picked up a "Lockdown lunch bag" of baguette, salad, pastry and coffee (£12) which was fantastic - tasty, filling, good value, and a million times better than the likes of Pret.
M. W.
Popped into this coffee shop on my way to a meeting on Monday and grabbed a simple coffee and a pastry. Nothing unusual about that, but their pastries were absolutely out of this world and the coffee set me not only for the day, but to kick this meeting in the rear. Its easily one of the best coffee shops I have visited in London, and I have made it a part of my daily routine now. Its got to the point where they know my order before I have even approached the counter. Sensational staff, sensational coffee. I couldn't ask for more!
M. M.
Great location, atmosphere, very attentive service but most of all very good coffee
U. K.
Very nice coffee and friendly atmosphere. Their cookies are also delicious. It's easy to find a place on weekends. It's a laptop friendly. Toilets are clean. The only thing that is open to improve is seats. They are kind of cool but they are not perfectly comfortable. They also fixed their bad internet signal. It's great connection anymore ;)
M. J.
Nice, friendly student atmosphere. Despite finding it on a cheap London coffee list it was around £3.60 for a latte and 20p extra for soya which I don't really deem as cheap.
Also, no charging ports, so if you're planning on working I suggest going elsewhere.
Otherwise pretty good though, my coffee tasted great.

Prufrock coffee is an excellent coffee shop and very friendly service by the staff. The food is well presented and they offer a good selection of cakes and pastries. The coffee is first class. I highly recommend a visit here.
D. D.
Very welcome addition to the growing number of coffee independents in the area, I looked forward to trying it for the first time. It's nice and spacious and serves a good breakfast and lunch menu, including gluten free options. I ordered a flat white coffee to accompany my lunch, but when it was served at my table, the waitress said it was my latte and when I replied that I'd ordered a flat white, she told me they were the same thing, and walked away. Seriously?? Not impressed.
A. Y.
Great coffee and a wide range of paraphernalia available here. Their staff is friendly and helpful. Coffee here has been great. I have stuck to the 6oz (flat white) so far. I would definitely try their filter coffees the next time round. There is a casual vibe here and it is a great place to hang out. Their lemon polenta cake is amazing too!
R. B.
This place has such amazing coffee!! It's got ample place to sit as well and there's a few things to eat too. Staff is super sweet and it's not difficult becoming a resident here.
N. H.
I meet colleagues for coffee here on a regular basis. Simple but lovely food, friendly staff, and good service (And very good coffee). What's not to like?
A bit on the pricey side but in-line with other good quality coffee spots in the area. Recommended!!
C. B.
The best coffee in London, nay the world!
T. K.
Best coffee on the street in my opinion. Staff are usually pretty quick to server and there’s often plenty of space to choose from. Nice atmosphere too. Only thing keeping it on four rather than 5 stars is that it is on the pricey side.
O. G.
Good flat white, nice big open space, friendly service. Nice
š. H.
Well, this was and amazing coffee restaurant. I am really happy, that I visited here. The coffee was fresh and good. I visited with my family and they all were satisfied. The waiters were polite and quick at their craft. Man would think, that they really know their stuff. I do not know if its wnglish trend or something, but they should really clean more their toilets. The coffee was so far ze best in London and I sure do recommend you to visit this coffee shop. You could take away ur coffee, but the true spectacle is to sit there a watch the view out of the window. So real quick: you should visit, try their rich portfolio of coffee and see for yourself. One star is just going down because of the toilets, that were terrible. So next time I maybe visit like in 4 years.... Try to clean them more, thankz. Goodbye.
S. W.
Great coffee place to chill out and catch up with friends. Coffee served was refreshing and aromatic with an exquisite taste. They have serve delicious banana bread with butter. Highly recommended but price is high. Expect to spend almost £10 for a cup of coffee and slice of cake.
R. T.
Perfect coffee, perfect atmosphere. Love the interior and the food, what more can I ask for
C. P.
Total coffee obsessives. The coffee is some of the best in London, if not the best. The seasonal menu is also excellent, my guilty pleasure being the espresso milkshake. It can get rather busy but you almost always can get a seat. Well well worth the visit for the coffee alone.
I. D.
Definitely one of the most popular coffee places in Central London. The decor is simple but quirky and elegant at the same time. Of course, the coffee they offer is great and not as pricey as most coffee shops around. The baristas are friendly and very knowledgeable about their craft.
Highly recommend it.
A. A.
Good place to work with a coffee. The bread with avocado is pretty nice.
T. R.
People will bang on about this place until the cows come home. If you mention you like coffee it is quickly followed by someone rabidly replying 'BUT HAVE YOU BEEN TO PRUFROCK?!'
Yes. Yes, I have. It's good. It's better than Starbucks and all those other chains. Do I think it's the best in London? No. But then everyone likes different kinds of things from their coffee and I personally don't like the beans they use there.
However, that being said... the actual cafe is a really nice space to grab a coffee and have a nibble on something sweet. It can be difficult to find seating due to its popularity but it is well worth a seat.
They have some of the friendliest baristas and patrons that I have experienced in London. I would definitely give them a go if you're in the area.
H. B.
I really like the food here, the coffee and drinks. People are friendly - including other customers - and the decoration is fun and hip. Staff behind the bar are OK, but lacking a bit of empathy. I've been here a few times and every time they seemed to be tired and doing me the favour to help - not rude, just not happy to be there. But I still like this place, the atmosphere and food here are worth a visit.
T. H.
I first discovered this place a few years ago. I'm not in England often enough, but I now make it a point to come here on any trip. The staff has always been wonderful & pleasant & the coffee has always been stellar; never too bitter, temperature is always perfect and the appreciation of product radiates care. I wish there were more cafés like this in Europe. I hope you've enjoyed story time with Tristan. The end.
D. C.
Inside with it's mix of quirk, unique, rustic & modern is a beautiful cafe. Often overlooked, given the blazing eye candy of Leather Lane's eateries. It offers the revolutionary, it is the only place I know of in London that offers stone-rolled tea, to the comfortable, a good old fashioned coffee. Be taken aback by it's breadth of breakfast and lunchtime offerings. Marvel at it's choice of coffee related merchandise. Be happy, knowing you've made the right choice just by entering the premises with senses engaged.
R. S.
Some of the best coffee in London. Highly recommend if you want a good cup of coffee. The brownies are also top notch, although you might want to share one as they're very rich!
D. C.
The hot chocolate is very good, and the atmosphere is cozy. I would highly recommend this place.
M. N.
We had the beef cheek sandwich and the fig porridge - both absolutely delicious, really well priced and the staff were lovely too.
Flat white was strong and well made, and the orange juice was actually freshly made!
C. A.
Not a friendly working cafe. After spending over 20 pounds on 2 large coffee pots and several pastries my friend and I (who both work remotely) were pushed to leave by a rude barista after about 2.5 hours of sitting (quietly working on our computers). Nothing was said to the girl next to us, however, who had been there before us and only had 1 cup of tea the entire time. Can't say I'd recommend.
C. C.
Great ambiance, perfect for catching up with friends over coffee. They have lots of coffee accessories for sale as well, which is a nice touch. Service was efficient, though the level of enthusiasm from staff was slightly lacking relative to other popular coffee shops I have been to. That being said, I would likely visit again considering all factors involved.
E. C.
Nice coffee selection, helpful and very friendly staff. I'll be back.
F. K.
Very good coffee. Largest croissant in my life and very tasty
J. H.
Came here on the back of Juan's review (who knows infinitely more about coffee than I do). I'm still a bit surprised to find, well, frankly anything on Leather Lane - I'd always known it as a bit dead. So to have not just one but two well regarded coffee shops here now is quite impressive.
It was certainly a good macchiato, the staff were pleasant, and the place felt a bit more spacious and relaxed than some of the more central independent coffee shops. My only slight quibble is that I found the menu and therefore ordering a bit confusing - but perhaps that would be less of a problem for dyed in the wool coffee geeks.
H. F.
Continues to offer some of the best espresso and filter coffee in London. One may scoff at the made-to-order drink prices, but unfortunately quality ain't cheap in this town.
Last time my breakfast date and I had two avo toasts and split a big pour-over (V60?), all for some £22ish.
Food options are limited, but tasty.
Can be quite crowded during peak hours.
T. D.
There's a lot of hype about this place - and it lives up to it. Prufrock will definitely give you an excellent, expertly brewed coffee, every time. Accordingly, it's always very busy - but worth it.
The filter coffees are epic and epically tough on the wallet, but worth a try at least once! Otherwise espresso / long black / soya latte has treated me well here.
We're spoiled for choice with amazing speciality coffee spots and cafes in London, especially my hood of east London, so Prufrock isn't my favourite cafe in London. Objectively, however, it's served up some of the best coffee I've ever had, and hands-down the best in the area.
S. S.
Another excellent coffee shop in this area. Their reputation extends to Edinburgh and now that I have had the opportunity to visit and I can say it is well deserved. Great coffee and excellent service. The shop has a great buzz about it and the staff are brilliant.
Q. C.
Established it statue as an European Coffee institution. From the minute you entered this cafe you will feel the energy and the seriousness of their staff handling your drinks. Interior deco is not as tasteful as other cafe in the area, but it's espresso based drink is definitely one of the best in London. A temple for coffee lover. It also held brewing classes and workshop so definitely a place to go for if you are serious to coffee.
J. D.
Our COVID-19 happy place. Every weekend this has been our one little respite, with lovely staff, good coffee and the worlds best toasties
C. S. L.
This was the only place in the area that was open on a bank holiday, read really good reviews about it and I wasn't disappointed! The kale side is a must try, a western take on the Asian oyster sauce kailan/kale dish that goes well with any egg dish of choice. Had a filtered coffee and while it was really good I felt like it was a tad expensive for what I got. Staff were really friendly and it's very cosy here.
T. W.
I could only see 3 different size of espresso with milk offered on the black board when I went in - I was advised that an 8oz espresso with milk would be like a flat white, that was fine by me. Wasn't too sure if you could get away with ordering a big frothy cappuccino here, they may direct you t the nearest Starbucks instead. The coffee was good, this is one of those place where they take the Batista role super seriously, but don't get me wrong they're weren't pretentious and were nice a friendly.
The decor is v.minimalist with the place feeling a little empty and cold at first, but actually I found it okay & a reasonably nice quite atmosphere. I prefer somewhere I with more soft furnishing where I can chill-out a bit more. Not a bad place though & would be perfectly fine coming back to. Probably somewhere true coffee connoisseurs would rave about.
R. B.
Excellent coffee, and good nibbles, in an open industrial coffee shop. Run by a previous barista champion, the coffee is always consistent and training is available downstairs - including for the public at 60 quid a class.
Brownie bites are nice with coffee, though the only change I would make are better pastry options overall! Other food is very nice.
Free wifi and open space make it a great place to sit or enjoy a coffee with friends.
M. W. N.
Nice little coffee place that serves great consistent coffee. Co-owned by prominent barista and youtube personality James Hoffmann.
R. P.
Food was good. Great food menu. Great selection of cake.
R. P.
Decent coffee, but a bit pricey, even for the area.
S. M.
Great coffee, but weird atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be sitting in isolation with their laptops not talking to one another. Felt like a study hall rather than a cafe, which made you feel the need to whisper. Not a very lively place for socialising.
M. M.
They have coffee roasted fresh and prepared neatly, without old bits from the old batches in the preparation equipment, which makes the coffee bitter and sour. It is refreshing compared to most coffee places everywhere. Still not perfect, but it's a place you can get a tasty cup of black coffee without surprises. The prices at the place for the coffee are good, however deserts are a bit expensive and both bags of roasted coffee beans and equipment like burr mills are at least twice the price they are worth. Plus, when I was looking to buy some fruity coffee the waiter recommended me one bag, which later on turned out to be already almost a month old. Was very disappointed they sold me such old beans, when the other bags on the shelves were just a couple of days old. Now I know I should've checked them myself and not count just on the recommendation from them thinking it's all fresh.
All in all, nice products, but overpriced overall.
O. F.
I found the staff here again and again quite lacking in customer service or just a human understanding that people can be cold and its the customers comfort that matters. They keep opening the door on a very cold day even after I communicated to them that its very uncomfortable and the feet literally freeze. Hipster snobbish on top of just inconsiderate. Too bad.
N. S.
Excellent brewers, although not an original toaster.
C. J.
Lovely independent coffee shop. We attended the chocolate tasting evening hosted by Cocoa Runners. It was a great, intimate setting in this authentic local cafe.
C. C.
One of the best coffee shops in the area (you have to admit there's a lot of competition). This one is slightly better than the department of coffee and social affairs just opposite the street. But if you're more into Italian style espresso, go to Vergnano.
J. P.
Great selection of coffee and chocolate. The pour over was decent. The prices are extortionate: even at responsible coffee prices, £6.50 for a pour over is a joke. The music is way too loud, which causes everyone to try and yell over it -- if you're looking for somewhere relaxed and quiet, this is not it.
A. V.
Very good coffee, but for lower cost you might find same quality or even better product.
E. J.
Being a self confessed 'coffee-nerd', Prufrock is always on the top list of recommendations of fellow nerds and I was originally taken here by a Farringdon local.
However, I've got to say I really don't understand the hype.
Maybe I'm missing something that everyone else seems to see, the staff weren't all that friendly and came across a little stand-offish. While the airy, open plan cafe is actually quite lovely to chill out in and do a little people watching outside or by the big windows, it lacks a certain something that would make me want to keep on coming back.
After my first disappointing visit, I thought I'd give it a second try and still, no love came from me for the coffee. While it's a cool looking place with cute branding - rabbit stamps on the take out cups and tote bags - and the food looks quite nice (maybe I should pop back and try this too) - for coffee, it's nothing to shout about.
m. c.
Great seletion of coffee made by baristas that really know their coffee. Very relaxing and friendly for a very busy shop. Food looks great also.
Try one of their hand brewed filter coffee. Nothing like the filter coffees of the past, beans ground to order, water accurately measured. Coffee at the next level.
L. G.
Best coffee shop in the central London area. If you're looking for a nice place for brunch you can't go wrong with this one. It has everything you may need for a nice breakfast or lunch. Also, the coffee is great.
D. L.
There's really not much further to say on Prufrock that hasn't already been said. Prufrock serve up superlative coffee. If you mention their name to independent coffee shops worldwide, they'll know exactly who you're talking about. Service is friendly and approachable.
My favourite part of Prufrock, however, isn't the coffee. It's the decor! As at the time of writing, their lever machine is decorated with beautiful illustrations by Martin Kingdom, who has also illustrated their take-away coffee cups. They've also put in the effort to make this previously very-white space which struck me as more of a science lab than a coffee shop more warm and friendly (so... less white).
S. C.
Excellent coffee. Multi-roaster cafe with great selection of beans from various roasters. Very serious about their coffee. Every brewed cup was tested for extraction to measure consistency.
J. O.
We called in at Prufrock's for lunch on a winter Sunday, and came away feeling well fed, warned - and healthy. It was seriously the nicest lunch we had ever had in a cafe. The food is all home-made and it really shows. I can particularly recommend the broccoli tart with wholemeal pastry, walnuts and Stilton, and the clementine and chocolate cake which was moist beyond the call of duty - and delicious. As for the coffee, it comes beautifully crafted, and with flavours that deserve your attention. A surprisingly warm, friendly and relaxed corner of this otherwise frenetic (on weekdays) or deserted (at weekends) pocket of London.
M. K.
Lost one star due to poor service, and another for a mediocre oat flat white with no latte art
C. O.
Excellent iced latte and a perfect respite from the hot summer weather! The interior design is bright and colourful and the music cheerful - a great place to hangout or read a book. There was also a very interesting bicycle near the back, and I thought using an old barrel as a table was pure ingenuity. Will definitely be going back for more.
C. P.
Services was amazing. Great presentation of food. I went here with my friend for coffee. coffee was amazing. We spend a great time. Amazing place. Great atmosphere. Sitting section was comfortable and beautiful. Peaceful place.
K. G.
Excellent coffee and lovely surroundings obviously. The avocado on toast is some of the best I've had in London (probably due to the super generous lashings of olive oil and tons of salt / chilli flakes but hey).
V. L.
This café is one of my favorite. My office is literally on the other corner so I buy coffee for me and one colleague of mine every morning. We have never been disappointed by the coffee flavor. It’s strong enough to keep us awake all day at work.
M. J.
Good pour over, and great espresso. The space is nice, with loads of tables and chairs and nice decor. Music choice was good and not too loud. I'd enjoy coming back, however I think it is too pricey.
C. M.
Coffee is consistently great. One of the best in London for me. The banana bread is something else. Grilled with butter and then almost sweated in plastic wrap. Amazing. Rest of the food is pretty good as well
J. H.
Probably the best coffee in london and certainly coffee brain trust is high. One of the few, if only place, to stock Tim Wendelvoe coffee from Oslo. Add those to your Santa list and you’ll have a very happy coffee Christmas x
G. K.
Very good coffee and baked goods. Pour overs are a bit pricey.
H. L.
I've spent an inordinate amount of time and money in Prufrock, and have definitely come to appreciate the dedication that their baristas show to their coffee, and in particular their latte art.
Prufrock is also home to the BRAT (Barista Resources and Training) facility, and I've been lucky enough to have a (very high level) introduction to the art of coffee making there myself.
The coffee they serve is delicious, and very reasonably priced, and I would definitely recommend the plain espresso, which really is wonderfully made. Obviously the milk-based coffees are also excellent, and very beautiful.
My only gripe is that their selection of food is a bit small - it would be really nice if this could be beefed up a bit (something which I think they may already be working on).
L. C.
Another vote for Will for providing me with my weekly coffee and brownie treat, I wish I could go there everyday but it is a tad expensive. But if you are truly into your coffee then this place should be on your bucket list.
M. S.
Excellent coffee let down by inconsistent service. Sometimes service is good, sometimes poor.
Seem to have rectified the age old "can I just sit at the coffee bar and order coffee" problem, whereby you'd come in and try and chat with barista and order a coffee but this wouldn't happen and you would get ignored for 30 minutes - rectified this with a new policy of "sorry, you have to order at the till". That's a silly way to rectify the problem and just upsets clientele with frustrating lack of humanity.
Oh well, coffee still excellent. I've had my best ever chemex and aeropress brews ever here. I drink a different bean every week and brew in a multitude of different manual processes. Prufrock is probably still the original and best. But let down by the inconsistency of the service.
B. D.
Coffee is ok but nothing special. The whole etablissement feels like a branch of a bigger chain with shelves full of KeepCups and different coffee makers. There's nothing wrong with it, it's more the supermarket feel that's somehow not right.
The staff makes you feel that you're only a number, no greeting, no interaction at all. For card payment (no contactless) they charge extra. Next time it will be the Department of Coffee down the road again.
A. K.
My flat white was not bitter. Good ratio of milk to espresso. I liked that they use square miles coffee beans. Would recommend.
b. h.
There is a joy a coffee snob gets when walking into a new coffee shop and asking "do you do V60's" and the response comes back "of course".
This is one such coffee shop.
Very open-plan with about 1/4 of the space given over to the preparation of coffee, and although could do with slightly better air conditioning, the quality of the beans and dedication of the staff cannot be understated.
R. W.
Prufrock is named carefully and aptly. I've hunted down some of the best coffee in London and gave this place a fair try twice. It's what you'd expect from an 'academic' type of coffee place that specializes in baristic pedagogy - pedantic and pretentious, and overpriced. Maybe it used to be different, and I'm sure some of the staff there know their stuff. Is it better than Starbucks or Nero? Yes, but personally, I'd favour Dept. of Coffee (next door) or TAP.
G. M.
Prufrock is a top player in the London's coffee scene. Open since 2011, at Prufrock they make one of the best espressos in London as well as offering a nice space to meet friends or spend a few hours to work.
Located in the heart of Leather Lane, a busy location during the week when the market is on, very quiet at weekends, it is about 5 minutes walk from Chancery Lane and Farringdon stations.
The cafe on the ground floor is spacious and bright (with full windows facing the street). I used to complain about the small number of seating places, but thankfully this has changed and now they have plenty of tables, so I never have problems finding a place to sit down, even during the crowded weekly lunch time.
Downstairs is the place where they run coffee workshops and barista trainings. If you are interested in learning how to make the best filter coffees and espressos at home, as well as practicing your "latte art" skills, Prufrock is the place to go.
B. H.
Friendly staff, wonderful coffee and a relatively handy location. What's not to love? Slightly on the expensive side and hard seats. Despite downsides, it's highly recommended!
m. m.
Great coffee served by friendly knowledgeable staff. Good for a quick stop off or longer longer over a great flat white while working on your lap top - it's that kind of place.
J. M. C.
The service was really slow, we waited our breakfast around 1h.
The coffee and food was good.
The environment have a strong New York style.
W. K.
Spacious and warm on a chilly day offering food, coffee, and tea. Free wifi and they offer classes downstairs such as the latte art. The drinks are pricey but overall a good place to stop by for a quick break
W. y. C.
Open for take away coffee ☕ which is really smooth. Few seats right outside but not sheltered.
O. M.
Home of coffee in my eyes! lovely calm experience despite very busy cafe! Lots going on here - even has a library of books to catch up on coffee exploits. def recommend if you are in the area (or not) ...also does training which i will be looking into.
A. Ö.
Really good coffee. I would give 5 for their coffee but the place itself was a little bit messy when I visited. Maybe it was like that on this occasion only. But I don't feel like I would go there again.
J. B.
Fantastic selection and friendly staff who'll offer recommendations. Other coffee-related items on sale (Aeropresses, cafetieres, etc) as well as beans and grounds, and much more room inside to sit for a while and have a warm coffee and a chat.
D. L.
Prufrock Coffee is fast becoming one of the well known independent coffee roasters serving award winning and delicious espresso. Good ambience for long conversations over coffee and brownies. Brownie bites available for just that nibble to go with the espresso.
S. L.
Great coffee, very similar to the coffee level Melbourne and Sydney are putting out. Minimal food for breakfast but great lunch options. Chilled atmosphere.
D. G. S.
Really nice on the inside, but ultimately this place is pricing itself as one of the most expensive in London which is not justified by the level coffee or baristas. Both of these are good, but not great. You can get the same thing or better for a chunk less all across East London.
E. C. R.
Prufrock is one of (if not the) best coffee shops in London. Their attention to detail, when it comes to brewing coffee, results in a consistently great coffee.
Some people might say that Prufrock is an expensive speciality coffee shop. Yes, it costs more than your chain coffeeshop — quality has never been cheap.
If you are looking for an consistently amazing coffee experience this is your coffeeshop.
t. s.
The place is nice the staff are nice the expresso I had was meh I appreciate the honesty of the staff they don't sell strong coffee so I agree. but perhaps the other products may be better. I was told this is the best coffee in town the expresso wasn't but who knows maybe the complexity of the coffee is not in my understanding.
M. B.
Friendly staff! Good selection of coffee. The baristas know how to make a good cup of coffee. Hard to replicate their knowledge and hard work with the same beans at home.
R. B.
Aside from the well craft coffee drinks, Prufrock has a great selection of rotating guest coffee beans, teas, chocolates, and gifts for coffee enthusiasts.
L. S.
The best coffee shop in London. It is much better than starbucks. You can find many different types of coffee. They can even train you to create the perfect cup of barista coffee which is great!
M. V. d. B.
Beautiful silky coffee carefully crafted.
J. P.
Absolutely loved this place. Coffee was amazing, excellent coffee range, great food offerings and they have an extensive coffee retail section. Would definitely recommend
A. M.
Came over for a quick coffee, and was not disappointed. Very well prepared, clearly the staff know what they are doing. The food looked great as well, though I didn't have a chance to taste it. Very reasonable prices.
j. b.
Despite the hoopla, self-mythologising and careful staged merchandising, the 'regular' coffee served disappointingly unremarkable though adequate.
Typical de rigueur minimalist interior here bustles with baristas, coffee enthusiastas and fashionistas.
Legends in their own minds.
Hip.. hip.. and hurrah away.
S. A.
Fantastic coffee and incredible food. Great selection of cakes and pastries. If you are keen on your coffee you have to give this place a try!
c. s.
Best coffee in London hands down. This place is renowned for it's impact on specialty coffee and rightly so. I always make a special effort to get to Prufrock whenever I'm in London.
B. A.
Fantastic example of the modern style of cafe, with great coffee and brunch style food. During the weekend at least it is busy yet reasonably chilled out.
Also a good retail source for coffee equipment and beans. Square mile mainly.
B. T.
Tasty flat whites
Nice latte art.
Lots of space to sit.
S. E.
Love the guys in here - very friendly and approachable. Amazing coffee, great service, and an amazing space. Make sure that you check out their training classes on a Saturday as I've been to two and they were both brilliant!
C. H.
Prufrock is a great place to grab a cup of coffee in the Holborn area. They also have delicious cakes available (their Brownies are to die for) and plenty of seats and free WiFi which make this a great place for working or having a meeting over a cup of coffee.
L. K. (.
Love it. And they have rabbits as well as a great coffee.
M. S.
Really nice, smooth coffee. One of the best coffee shops in London for sure! Will definitely be taking their barista classes soon!
M. K.
Best coffee in London I reckon. I’ve done the rounds and keep coming back. Lovely knowledgable staff and always good selection of coffees from a variety of roasters.
D. C.
Great coffee. Nice guest espresso options. Very good pour overs, with a nice selection of beans roasted all around London.
Y. C.
Delicious coffee and creative breakfast. must eat field mushrooms on bread with aioli and add poached egg. My favourite sunday spot. Friendly staff and good service
H. p.
Regularly come here to catch up with a friend as we both work locally. Really friendly staff, good coffee and great selection of milk alternatives so no one should feel left out here.
C. J.
Never ever had a bad coffee from these guys! They will never rush a coffee. Also if try there guess blends, always lovely and a bit different if you want to mix it up.
S. C.
Consistently rated amongst the best in terms of their baristas, the quality of coffee is also second to none. I've spent a long time trying to find the best cup of coffee in London and for me this has to be it.
V. J.
Love the flat white , perfect aroma and lovely coffee art . Their banana bread is also wonderful.
P. K. P.
One of the very best in London!
N. F.
Really amazing coffee and service, highly recommend!
V. L.
The coffee is fantastic, although the banana bread i had didnt quite worth 3gbp i would say. But the place is nice and the staff are friendly. Nice atmosphere. Recommended.
A. T.
Staff are nice, and good place to get your coffee obsessed friend a fancy new coffee related item. Lot's of space and just off a busy market street so plenty to watch go by.
C. H. J. K.
Had an almond latte and an espresso - tasted great, although I couldn't see the raw sugar until I left - great staff - best coffee!
d. d.
Friendly staff, and good environment. The most important, perfect coffee, well balanced , bold fruity taste, how nice
M. L. A.
Prufrock should be renamed Cup of Excellence . They might make things look easy but the amount of work that goes into training and serving the best coffee is not to be underestimated. Enough said, go check for yourself
L. S.
Prufrock is hands down one of the best places to get coffee in London. Founded by Gwilym, a World Barista Champion, Prufrock has become a hub for all things coffee in London, from great coffee, to barista training. In fact they take coffee so seriously they have even done lectures on how to get the perfect water and filtration!
J. H.
Some of the best coffee in London. Great atmosphere, spacious, good books for sales as well. The coffee training is top notch too
H. L. S.
Tried the filtered coffee of Finca Santa Teresa. The baristi was mispoured the coffee liquid so it spilled over the saucer and table. Well, it was their most expensive filtered coffee anyway. Others is good.
R. W.
coffee tastes entirely different from any of the junk you get from the chains....... This place is for connoisseurs and they sell their own blends to take home as well ( at 5 times the price of a Lavazza ;-(
A. A.
Great cafe with the most friendly and knowledgable staff! The cold brew is fab and so is the food. Thanks to Will, Tim and Aga for being the best 👏🏼
L. H.
Absolute favorite coffee shop in London. Always the best coffee available at that time in the year. Ask them anything, they have the knowledge!
J. J.
Cozy place and friendly staff.Very good iced latte! The best salted caramel cake ever! Banana bread just amazing, one of the best I've ever tried!
F. A.
Always reliable coffee...strong. Prufrock started serving table service which is a lovely change for London instead queuing up everywhere else. They also do coffee classes.
D. B.
Great coffee in a cool location. Staff were very helpful in using their expertise to help me pick which coffee to buy from their wide selection
A. H.
Everything with toast. Nicely presented and cooked.
A. D.
Hectic atmosphere, industrial furnishings, and bangin' banana bread. Come here on your own time if you have a free afternoon or some work to do, the limited seating during the day makes catching up with a group of friends kind of impossible.
E. P.
This coffee shop can be extremely busy during lunch time. Chairs are a bit uncomfortable but otherwise a good place for artisan coffee.

"I have measured out my life with coffee spoons"
I came for the poem, stayed for the wonderful service, beetroot salad, and coffee. Great place to relax for an afternoon.
C. T.
Coffee is okay, seating is plentiful, but wifi is slow or non-existent. Unfortunately, the main purpose of a cafe for me is to sit down and code. With such a busy environment and no internet, I can't.
B. M.
Very good coffee. A little disappointed that the cappuccino was made with 8 oz of milk, but still good. The wifi did need a good bit of work, though.
A. R.
Great croissant. Small cappuccino. Would go back.
C. C. Ç.
Had a very good capuccino and slow cooked beef. It has a creative breakfast menu. Must try all of it.

Great coffee, friendly staff, very nice setting and the sandwiches look amazing (but didn't have the chance to try them...).
M. G.
Great coffee, great service. I had the cortado (like a shorter version of a flat white) and boy, it had balls. Great start to a Saturday.
E. K.
Overpriced and the coffee isn't great it was lukewarm so the moment you took it out to drink while you walk it was cold. Lemon and polenta cake is very tasty however.
B. A.
Good place for lunch or coffee. The menu is not extensive but is well made. The service is sometimes slow, especially at busy times, so leave plenty of time.
J. B.
