Reviews of Sally White
麵.
Good Oat Latte with yummy home-made brownie with raspberries.
The place is cozy with friendly staffs.
I sat on a church couch which was very funny.
Also bought a Sicilian unwaxed organic lemon (£1.5) with branches and leaves on it.
The shop is closed at 4:30 pm and the staff offered me a free Croissant🥐. What a surprise!

Very friendly staffs! Well presented, clean and cute place. But coffee.. not sure if it’s the best one in the area. Had Chai latte also and it was just milk with no flavour.
Unfortunately, cakes and foods seem heavily over priced for what it is and the taste.
C. C.
Love this place. Lovely warm coffee, my favourite brownies around and I have tried all of them. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff, highly recommend.
P. T.
Love this place! Nice coffee, but their food is awesome and super tasty. Definitely made with love and consideration!
O. G.
Friendly staff, best coffee in the area for sure. The only reason it’s not five stars is that the food is just slightly overpriced. The front area for takeaway can be quite congested if more than 2-4 people are there ordering and collecting.
J. D. D.
The best cake ever! They have a lot of brownie for any taste. Some vegan muffins!
My favorite one is the banoffee 🤤🤤🤤
Staff really nice and friendly. They always have a smile under them mask (u can feel it 🤣) and they always help you with the choise.

Make a visit to Sally White's cafe for the home made brownies, the banoffee cheesecake in particular. Only thing would have liked a side of salad to have come with my quiche. But all very tasty and freshly made.
A. L.
Sally White has a really great selection of homemade cakes, sandwiches and salads.

This is my favourite spot in the area, by far. The actual coffee they use ticks all the boxes for me. I'm not a coffee expert, but a proper coffee lover (I can certainly recognise the one that can wake up our taste buds). This is also one of very few places where people can still be bothered to make me a proper frothy cappuccino which goes perfectly with one of their delicious cakes.
Sally (I was told she's the main baker) is such a clever baker. All their cakes are so well known classics, but always with that something, a subtle hint that makes one wonder which kitchen laboratory has it come from.
Yes, it is a very tiny place and some might think that is a downside but, please don't move, don't go bigger, don't change your ways. You will lose on the quality and style.
Thanks for being around.
Y. S.
Great people, atmosphere. Lasagna and cake were tasty too
N. V.
Absolutely love it, the pastries are delicious, coffee ☕ a pleasure.
The local product on the shelf are a must. If you live in Kennington, you have to go there.
It became a weekly routine for us
Staff is lovely too

Amazing place that I love visiting everyday to get my regular lemon cake that is absolutely delicious! Just seen a review from @Amy RCh and I must say perhaps you were having a bad day because they never fail to please my taste buds ! Thank you very much sally whites see you tomorrow!! Xx

Incredible bakery with the kind of deli selection you’d mission to sample even if it wasn’t en route or nearby. Their sausage rolls are quite spectacular, and the salads are always fresh and delicious. Don’t get me started on the chocolate brownies but know you will savour every mouthful.
X. X.
Best bakery in the area hands down! The staff area super friendly and knowledgeable about the products they are selling. They all make a delicious flat white! The baked goods are to die for and the lunch time goods (quiche, tortilla, salads) are also really tasty. Don't start me on the cakes... I'm heading straight for diabetes but at least I will be happy 🤣

Unexpectedly fantastic. Doesn’t look much from outside but it really is the best little cafe... honestly can’t be faulted. There are a couple of benches outside so you can eat there, or just grab armfuls of the thoughtful produce to devour at home. Homemade granola, proper jam, perfect little breakfast pots, well made cakes, beautiful salads and frittata and great coffee.
It is very good value. I think I’ve been undercharged every time I go!
P. T.
Charming people, warn, homely an simply set up environment and the food is freshly made on the premises, with fresh ingredients and traditional recipies often with a little twist! The cakes are delicious, the salads fresh and the few delicatessen items on sale always of the highest quality. Good selection of beverages too.It is not cheap but not too dear either. The prices perfectly reflect the high standards the owners set for themselves. Bravo! Five starts without any reservation!
C. B.
Lovely quaint little cafe near kennington park. Excellent service and the staff were really friendly. The banoffee brownie was so tasty!
R. P.
This is a very friendly and welcoming cafe. The sandwiches are tasty and delicious. Will visit again next time I'm in London.

Great local cafe. Coffee and cake from here is a great start to our morning. Huge range and delicious.
L. L.
Great homemade food. Nice ambience. Very friendly and attentive service. Well recommended.

I popped into here Saturday and got a wonderful butternut squash quiche for takeaway as well as a no-extra-sugar flapjack. Both were wonderful!! The quiche was loaded with squash on the top layer and other veggies inside including spinach and potatoes. It’s also a big size. The flapjack also was great: crumbly and sweet, a buttery base and the jam and dried fruit made offered a good balance. The establishment is also dog-friendly. Cute interior and friendly staff. Plus brownie samples yum!
D. W.
Stopped off for a latte and pain au chocolat and was not disappointed. Friendly staff, a great croissant and a really nice latte at a reasonable price. Seating a bit cosy but nice place to while away some time whilst enjoying a great breakfast.

Passing by this cafe caught my eye popped in it was lunch time OMG their butternut squash quiche was melt in the mouth I followed this with a home made slice of carrot cake...Both were wonderful!! What I really liked the quiche was loaded with squash on the top layer and other veggies inside including spinach. Not a big fan of quiche but this changed my mind
S. C.
Delicious coffee, healthy sandwiches, fresh food and home made cookie. The most amazing place for busy people to get a healthy lunch or breakfast or just enjoy the spare time in a friendly place. Eco and vegan friendly

Sally Whites cafe is quite possibly the best thing about Kennington. I'm glad I don't work at home or I'd be eating there everyday!
Food: I've eaten here for years so sampled the menu extensively. They always have an interesting array of wholesome filling salads and delicious dishes and snacks that use high quality ingredients and are always very well cooked. And the cakes are top notch. They've recently brought out a coffee and walnut cake and I'm sure I'll never have better - you can taste the freshly brewed espresso syrup that they must drizzle onto the featherlight sponge and the walnuts are definitely toasted. I've eaten cakes double the price that are not nearly half as good. The owner must run a very tight ship as I've never had anything short of an exceptional meal.
Service: I'd agree with some old reviews that service used to be hit and miss as I've occasionally seen a grim looking staff member and once or twice been served by someone seemingly rather dismissive, but they're only human, and perhaps they were having a bad day. And that was years ago. Plus, why not try having a conversation with staff - you'd be surprised at the response you get! I've had some good chats. It's staffed by some nice people.
Price: this is London! Eating out is never cheap especially if you want to eat well. And as a Londoner who has eaten out all over London at a variety of establishments I'd say this place is actually very good value for what you get, especially bearing in mind it's a SMALL business. A lunch with salmon, a huge filling salad and a cake will cost only marginally more than the same from say Marks & Spencers, and the latter will be lower in quality in terms of ingredients, taste, and standards of production. And compared to similar establishments Sally Whites is simply in another league.
The only problem with eating here is that after you've done so you'll never be satisfied with the quality of food you might buy at a similar establishment!
N. N.
Great deli-style cafe that serves homemade sandwiches, salads, pastries and more. Everything is delicious and their sausage rolls are to die for!
K. P.
My favourite cafe in London! The homemade treats are baked with love and ALWAYS so delicious. Coffee 10/10!
J. M.
Very nice little coffee shop with great coffee and a wide selection of delicious cakes and brownies. I often stop here if I am in kennington for some time. Their chocolates and jellies also look good but I look forward to trying them in the future
I. P.
I want to give four stars for the food. I want to give one for the service. Three will do. The position of the counter and/or the staff (not) greeting you make it hard to know what to do when you get there.
Am I in a queue; where do I order; who is a staff member and who is a customer? Most of the time you feel you've invaded a clique, or walked in to a pub and the record stops and people turn to stare. It's like you've invaded a private coffee morning and dared to order something, which means they must get up to work.
The food is so good albeit pricey, but I just keep coming back, I've never had anything less than excellent, except the flat white I normally order which needs work.
If you can handle a less than perfect experience, grab some great food here and enjoy.
J. J.
Really great food selection with interesting salads, quiches and sandwiches. Friendly staff. Quirky interior, unfortunately a little on the small side so it’s slightly uncomfortable to eat your food at the cafe with people squeezing to get past.
L. m.
Really incredible food and cakes, really friendly staff! Definitely my favourite cafe in kennington! 100% recommend.
D. S.
My experience today - when picking up my bag, I knocked my iced latte over. I was mortified. The two people serving were extremely gracious, cleaning up the spill and even made me a replacement without charge. Thank you (and sorry again).
E. O.
Delicious salads and pastries/bakes. Whilst on the pricier side it is good health food. Only a couple of tables and small bar to eat at so avoid the lunch rush if you want to sit in
T. C.
I'd walked past here a few times and often thought about poping in for a look. I'm glad I did! It's a fairly small informal style café / deli which serves decent enough coffee. The real stars here are the sugary cakes and brownies on sale. Try the salted caramel brownie!
N.
Very nice place for a coffee or a snack but very limit for seats.
You can ask special requests from the bakery to make a cake for your special event.
J. M.
Lovely food, albeit a little pretentious! I don’t go that regularly, usually only as a treat. Typically I am dog walking so not dressed in a suit, neck tie and brogues, which I might add, I model quite well. Which brings me to my visit this evening when I paid for 1 item by contactless and was asked to wait until the transaction was complete and authorised! I can assure you this is not standard practice that I have witnessed with other customers. I did however return a little later as a friend asked me to buy some things for him and I paid using contactless with my iPhone... and no it wasn’t a stolen! Lol.
In future please don’t judge a book by its cover and treat all of your customers equally...
C.
Fantastic coffee and a great selection of sweet treats and healthy lunches! Warm and cosy. Recommend the brownies- they are divine!
C. F.
Amazing brownies, unbelievable sausage rolls, fresh salad and helpful staff! A real treat!
C. M.
Wonderfully fresh food and high quality coffee. The shop has nice chilled out atmosphere as well.
P.S Great beef and horseradish sandwich as well!
S. S.
Lovely find so close to my mum's house. Food looked amazing but I only had coffee and cake which was lovely. Nice atmosphere and friendly service
D. M.
The kitchen's table that adorns the front the store is Sally White's offering up to the food god's of Kennington. For newbies I suggest calling in on crisp cool morning, and asking for some of delicious and appetite fufilling sausage rolls, that are more robust than those of flaky alternatives. Plummet into a dark abyss of dark coffee, with a crema, that all but calls your name seductively. A selection of brownies, cakes, and traybakes all lovingly constructed instore are always available along with some scotch eggs and meringues for picnic delights.
For those who love Sally White I suggest making the occasional special request if your planning to come in advance. The team are bubbly, and border line hipster, with a kitchen below to cook up a storm. We need to keep enouraging the lads and lasses to keep up the stellar work.
The atmosphere is often "broken" in Sally's by its small premises, unashamedly naked style of service, leaving you to enjoy or suffer at the hands of a hungry queue. As they select from the display in front of you.
There is limited seating, and it's not particularly disabled friendly, but none the less you'll feel more than welcome.
Peak times include late morning and lunchtime. So best to plan ahead and get in there quick. It's a gem in an otherwise more formal dining options of the Kennington triangle.

Delicious homemade style snacks, variety if choices, good coffee, friendly staff
S. H.
A great deli style Cafe, tasty salads and quiche. Only downside is that there can be a lack of options sometimes if things have sold out.
T. O.

A bit like a drug addiction - sally whites is so good you’ll not be able to stop going back, but it’s so overpriced that you’ll end up bankrupting yourself.
M. C.
A little on the pricey side but the food is tasty. I haven't had the coffee for a while but in the past I've always found it far too hot.
E. B.

(Translated) Very tasty pastries and other snacks. You can also take it with you. Visitors a lot, but the cafe space is small, three tables close together and a couple of chairs at the bar. One table outside, but the cakes still have an original taste.
