Reviews of Söderberg Soho
H. S. (.
interior was lovely & spacious (big tables good for studying)! food was delicious though portions were smaller than I expected. server was a bit inconsiderate when clearing the table. overall, fab experience and would come again!
S. A.
Nice and cosy cafe with two floors though the wifi was weak downstairs. It does get a bit busy/noisy though so it’s not an ideal place to go if you want somewhere quiet. We enjoyed the food and coffee and like how there are small booths you can go into if you’re in a group
B. J.
delicious waffles, friendly staff, and nice seating. was lucky to nab a seat as it was so busy! coffee was a little underwhelming but not bad.
L. W.
Nice selection of pastries, the cardamon bun was delicious and good coffee. Friendly staff, good atmosphere although the music was a little too loud and we couldn’t have a proper conversation without feeling like we were raising our voice. Happy to visit again and give it another chance.
K. C.
Very nice range of pastry and brunch.
Would recommend the meatballs- flavourful, different from the IKEA ones, bigger, handmade i think.
Coffee is good too
T. K.
I enjoyed it, good service, well designed, amazing pastries and sweet selection. My food however was good, but a very small portion for the price. The salmon however was delightful. And it was a bigger portion than anywhere I've ever had, good stuff and thank you.
T. W.
It's ok. A piece of cardamom bun goes for £3.20 here and it was surprisingly light and not dense like the other cardamom buns I've tried before here in London. The mazarin tasted a little like Bakewell tarts but it has a very sweet icing sugar topping on top. Not something for those who are very sensitive to extremely sugary foods.
l. s.
Food service was nice and fast and food tasted nice
A. S.
We loved the place and the vibe. Slightly disappointed by young man serving us, who didn't seem very interested and got our order wrong. But overall didn't spoil the experience and would go back.
J. S.
Cinnamon bun lived up to the hype and the cappuccino was delicious
M. J.
Very nice cafe to relax, only point of improvement for owners is that even when we were the first ones in the tables weren't wiped. Didn't deter us from nice coffee and food though
L. C.
good selection of bakes as well as cooked breakfast. the cardamon bun was good, as was the sourdough bread with jam. good coffee too. service was efficient, but far from welcoming. would return if I were around Soho around breakfast time.
Q. W.
A vanilla and raspberry bun costs £3.70 which to me is a little overpriced given the very average taste
T. C.
Among all the Swedish themed cafes in London, Söderberg undoubtedly offers the coffee at the same level to honour its baked goods.
Located in one of the most crowded neighbourhood, this cafe surprisingly reserves quite a generous seating space. The interior is indeed pretty Swedish, cozy and simple.
I had a very good flat white here, rich in dry and simple aroma, rounded texture and just the right amount of milk, which absolutely went really well with the cardamom bun.
The staff were laid-back and friendly and helpful, definitely a place I will come back to in the near future since it also opens late.
S. G.
Scottish owned, Swedish design-driven coffee shop and more. First opening in London, after a string north of the border. The concept is simple: Drinking good coffee while sitting in beautiful chairs is double the enjoyment. Multiply that again with one of Soderberg's excellent sandwiches. The Umlaut is an added bonus.
R.
Great Swedish bakery! High quality quick bites which ate high-quality and super delicious 👍🏽 good coffee and atmosphere, even for working
N.
A bit of Edinburgh in London! Love that this beautiful Scandinavian cafe from Scotland has landed in London. The space is beautiful, with hygge nooks downstairs, and the service is friendly. The coffee is superb and the cinnamon buns are delicious and smell divine! Must go if you're in Soho
C. F.
Great spot for a fika (coffee break) with visiting Swedes. Mazarin (almond tart with icing) was delicious and the americanos were robust and strong. Cardamom and cinnamon buns fine but not life-changing. Cute space with lots of seating.
Y. A.
Swedish cafe on Berwick Street Soho. Good selection of bread, pastries and coffee. All nicely presented be on the slightly on the dear side. Open sandwiches are lovely and tasty all freshly made. Seating on ground floor and basement. Professional and friendly staff. However, my mocha was a little cold.
M. O.
Worth a little visit. Nice to support something that isnt a chain.
J. M.
Terrific new Swedish café/bakery in heart of Soho. Scandi ambience. Historic sourdough. Great coffee. Excellent menu. Cheerful staff happy to be working here. There is a very cool vibe. Always an excellent signal. Food is also very, very good and the menu very original, at least to those of us previously unacquainted with modern Swedish grub, or perhaps these are canny Scots, pretending to be Swedes. It’s a mystery. Already established in Edinburgh, first shop in London. Nothing in Sweden, apparently.
J. T.
Great food and coffee.
A lot of people just on their laptops for hours after they ordered which meant nice seating is at a premium
F. Z.
A nice sweet spot for some respite from the busyness down town. Lovely coffee (amazing flat white!) and traditional cinnamon buns, all served with a genuine smile.
T. C.
Really nice place, great for a office meeting/party. Held a Christmas party there and had a great experience. Nice food and nice drinks.
J. w.
Good coffee and food and open till late. Downstairs is a great space, there aren’t lots of seats but it’s really nicely designed the staff are friendly and it’s a good place to grab a drink and read or catch up with friends
B. Q.
Decent cake, Scandinavian style, good coffee, LOVELY staff. Cool spot
N.
Cosy cafe with nice food and good hot drinks, wifi quality was okay. Will try the coffee next time
S. P.
Only tried the cardamom bun from here, and it was great. Need to return to try some of the other treats on offerfrom this newly opened Swedish bakery.
Q. L.
Hands down the best spot in the bustling soho! Beautiful oat flat white and really good toasts, even just eaten plain with butter! Though it could have came with some preserves for the price :)
Really nice space, my first time here and I’m in love already!
M. M.
This is a great spot in the heart of the city to have some nice bites whilst in a meeting or socializing. Great, chilled vibes in a warm and minimalist set up. Two levels of space - *make a reservation if you wanna make sure you get the ourdoors light though.
I super recommend!
W. P.
Amazing food, pastries and coffee, plenty of seating and no wait on a Sunday. Downstairs area is great, especially the cave rooms!
M. T.
Really friendly staff and the best cinnamon bun I've had in London!
S. D.
Great service, lovely food and coffee, lots of seating options. Quirky Seating area downstairs. Only gripe is the lack of reception and wifi connection at some tables downstairs.
M. R.
Cool, minimalist scandal inspired coffee shop, good coffee and cake.
A. Y.
If I get a chance to go soho again , I’m gonna come here again.
Amazing taste of bread and Flat White was Perfect .
H. P.
Scandi feel in the heart of Soho. Best granola ive had, great balance of acidity and sweetness. If you're long for something fresh in Soho.
H. A.
Delicious scandi food and comfortable seatings fit for “working from home”. Would recommend the mushroom hot sandwich and the cinnamon buns.
J. H. C.
The meatballs lunch at this place is super tasty! Great environment to work in during lunch time. Would come back again!
S. R.
Excellent coffee (one of the best in the area) and flavoursome cakes and cinnamon buns. The service is great, and the atmosphere is really chilled. Would also recommend if you're looking for a take away coffee.
A. T.
Really nice coffee and pastries. Quite pricey
H. F.
Fantastic brunch here - hits all the spots, great coffee, comfy environment, friendly service and DELICIOUS food, both savoury and the famous buns. Had a large group and the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating and made the experience easy and enjoyable - would recommend for a fun event or just a quick coffee and pastry.
D. N.
Mixed feeling about this place.. I tried the sharing platters and some cocktails and I can't say that they weren't nice but was it worth the price on the menu? I don't think so because they were basically mini sandwich bites and each one was £3.5, so not sure if I would go again and order them. The vibe was nice though and the booths downstairs were really cute...
S. G.
Great place to work from if you don't mind some background noise. The WiFi is a bit spotty in the basement, but it has some great work spots that are a bit more secluded at the back. Loved the egg on sourdough toast with avocado, crispy kale and creme fraiche. The coffee is good too!
A. P.
Unbelievably tasty scandi baked goods
S. P.
Came for late brunch. Coffee was tasty but lukewarm. Prawn and egg open sandwich was good, but not amazing considering the price. The staff were friendly. The waitress who delivered my coffee spilt some in the saucer and didn't notice at first but later apologised that she hasn't noticed! Very relaxed atmosphere. Good bun selection.
A. D.
I would not hesitate to give this place a 5* rating simply because the cinnamon bun was SO GOOD. Seriously, one of the best cinnamon buns I have ever had in London! The coffee was excellent too + great, friendly staff and the little cave-like sitting booths downstairs are awesome.
A. T.
Very friendly and helpful receptionist. This was my first trip to London since I married my husband George and we were made to feel very welcome. Clean rooms, soft towels and delicious toblerone on our pillows! Yum! Will stay again
E. C. W.
Spent most of a Sunday here working away on my laptop and I loved it.
Good coffee, very nice staff and their cinnamon buns really are GOOD.
Decently priced. £9.10 for an americano, an oat latte and a cinnamon bun. Good for a central London café.
Gentlemen's and ladies' rooms are downstairs and quite clean.
Sufficient outlets for mobile workers. Seats on the side each has an outlet, but space is quite compact for me personally.
A downside (not really, more of a note for you) to me was that as I sat at the communal table upstairs and I was drawing. That table wasn't the most stable thing to draw on as it often was quite shaky as people moved.
Would definitely go back and try their pastries!
K.
We went here for Fika and it was perfect. A great selection of drinks and stuff for those who are lactose challenged. Plus delicious buns, pastries and sandwiches. The atmosphere was lovely and we felt very comfortable catching up chatting. At no point did we feel rushed or like we had to leave.
I. L.
Great coffee and bakery, mellow ambiance, cool interior, new fave!
M.
I almost don't want to review them, as I want to keep this place to myself. Wonderful spot! Not the cheapest, but not too bad, considering it's Soho. Yummy eggs & avo toast. Delicious skandi baking, including their own cinnamon buns. They also serve cocktails in the evening. As a fan of everything Nordic, I am in love.
G. M.
My wife and I came in for a coffee pick-me-up and ended staying most of Saturday night. The coffee is fab, cocktails marvellous and the wine that was recommended was awesome. The selection is small but the quality is great. Thanks to Jake.
M. M.
Really enjoyed my cake and coffee, the guy that served us explained each cake down to texture so was super helpful! I'd met up with a friend I hadn't seen in a couple of years, we went in at 5 and left at 9, we couldn't believe it but the atmosphere was so relaxed and we were never cleaned around or ushered out. The space has been planned out quite well, there are bar seats on the right hand side which could cater for people with laptops and then an array of lounge seating/ sofas both on the ground floor and basement. Super cosy spot, hope they start the Jazz nights here too!
S. S.
The signal is kinda really bad downstairs;
Could get a bit noisy too.
M. F. d. A.
Charming, if a bit pricey, café — the smallest flat white I’ve had for £3 in a while, though it was beautifully prepared.
Their stuff is always good quality — this time tried the parsnip cake, which was tasty if a tad dry.
There’s plenty of seating options, comfy sofas and stylish armchairs, plus two lovely alcoves downstairs.
It can get a bit noisy if conversations have to compete with the music — I’m still on the hunt for a nice, quiet café where I can read the old fashioned way — a proper book.
Staff served with smiles, which always makes any place and experience better!
G. B.
Coffee ok, good cinnamon rolls.
H. T.
I had the Bellini and the mule and they were both absolutely to die for! Our waiter was Jake and he was just fantastic. He was polite, friendly, and his open and warm disposition made sure we will be back. Not to mention he carried our cocktails down the stairs like a dream!
R. P.
A very popular spot in Soho for a coffee. I find the prices a bit steep, though this is a bit of a local market trend, so it's perhaps unfair to single out Söderberg. A reasonable amount of seating space with a downstairs area, but it's still not uncommon to show up and find it completely full. Reservations are accepted.
O. W.
Delicious coffee and pastries (get the cinnamon bun!). The only downside is that it's quite expensive, especially compared to similar places not too far from here. Still, a cozy and tasty stopover for the occasional treat!
A. T.
Best coffee in the area. Nice setting and cardamom buns are delicious. The Scottish guy working there is very welcoming and always makes me chuckle.
B. M.
Great coffee, yummy food and nice selection of savoury and sweet stuffs. Lovely place to sit and work, or catch up with friends. Friendly staff. I noticed they serve some booze too for those afternoon-coffees-that-progress....
J. M.
Loved this place. It was like stepping into a Swedish living room in the 60's. Great food and lovely staff. Breakfast tray was very fresh and good value for money. We will come back.
M. G.
Really comfy coffe shop to work at. Very smooth coffee! The little alcoves in the basement are very cute! Something out of Mos Eisley Cantina!
G. E.
Great coffee, yummy meatballs. Friendly staff who were very accommodating. The decor is Scandinavian style. Downstairs is styled beautifully.
M. (.
Amazing atmosphere, friendly staff and good coffee. This is proper cafe and not a “coffee shop” with awkward and busy sitting area. No. This is proper cafe. Glad i brought my date here. 😉
s. l.
Great environment if you’re looking for a place to get some work done. They have a decent selection of rolls, tarts, coffee and tea. Free wifi and bright interior.
A. L.
Slow service but nice food and nice atmosphere
L. A.
Great cafe with yummy dishes and delicious pastries. Good for meeting folks or for working. The only thing missing is WiFi!
D. A.
A very nice and cosy place to eat breakfast and have coffee. Nice decoration and service. Only negative is that portions are quite small.
A. W.
Nice atmosphere, good food.
D. A.
Really cool and chill place where you can have amazing pastries and good coffee! They put good music which is a perfect environment to work or to hang out!
S. M.
Really nice coffee. Awesome little downstairs with hidey holes that remind me of a star wars bar. Not too pricey either.
C. H.
Love this place! Modern, scandinavian. Very nice food & great atmosphere. Cool for working with a laptop while having a cuppa too!
E. R.
Very tasty, with a nicely dark chocolatey hot chocolate, not the tasteless sugar milk other places serve. Also tasty sweet bakes.
L. B.
I liked the Swedish design of the place. The staff was friendly and made nice recommendations. I really enjoyed the food as well.
H.
Halloumi burger was simple and high quality, just what I wanted. Flat white was great too.
B. K.
A little taste of Sweden, right in Soho! The Lingonberry mimosa was incredible and the food is great too! My spot for when I get homesick
M. A.
A nice escape within Soho, good coffee and buns. The ambience is cool and so the music. Good seatings for work 👌🏼
P. Q.
Really nice Scandi cafe. Good coffee, excellent cakes and cool surroundings
T.
Such cool design, especially the basement. Way too pricey though - my oat milk cappuccino was 3.60 pounds!
A. P.
Lovely little Coffee Shop in Soho with Swedish Pastries :-) Yum
J. B.

T. C. G.

C. A.
Amazing coffee, best buns in London, set within a stunningly designed coffee shop. Love it!
P.
Absolutely amazing! As a swede I had to go to check it out and I have to say that it’s really Swedish approved - taste and style! Highly recommended.
H. W.
Disappointed by the rude service, food was average.
F. A.
Can get busy at this new Swedish cafe.minion sandwiches are nice and coffee is good but probably not my favourite Scandinavian join
M. B.
Great coffee, really friendly staff and yummy kanelbullar (cinnamon buns) :)
J. W.
The cinnamon buns are amazing but the cardamom buns are (even though it seems impossible) even better!! Highly recommended.
K. O.

(Translated) In search of a nice restaurant to satisfy a little hunger, the description of Söderberg Soho made us want. It must be said that we like the atmosphere and Nordic cuisine. We were not disappointed. The poached eggs on slice of bread with spinach, bacon or avocado and kale chips are excellent! We can also crack for pastries (the small almond-pistachio tart, a slaughter)! A more responsive service would have justified the 5th star.
