Reviews of The Coffee Traveller

The pancake here is really good. One of the best I have in London. Omelette is very nice though the price is a bit high for the extras. Oat latte and hot chocolate are good too, but it will be much better if they can make the milk thicker.

A small coffee shop with huge surprises. They have a variety of fresh pastries, muffins, panini, salads, snacks, coffees, smoothies, freshly baked bread to go and much more. The place is very clean, the staff is very welcoming and they have places to sit at the front and at the back. I've been there a few times now and I really enjoy it!

This is a great place for all travellers, not only coffee ones! Very close to Thames River. For short stopover but also for a longer stay. They have very good coffee (Caravan roastary from London), delicious sandwiches, smiling team and original and interesting owner - she knows a lot about traveling and life. As a bonus - you can sit at the real school desk and go back to the old times 🙂
Polecam, bardzo przyjemny lokal na londyńskim Chiswick! 🙂

Welcoming and friendly with delicious food and coffee! I did not expect the lovely outside space at the back either. A real find that I will definitely be returning too. I have already invited friends to join me next time.

One of the best spots that you can enjoy your time in . I discovered this Coffee shop accidentally while exploring the streets of Chiswick. For sure it will be my new spot . Amazing healthy food and environment. Perfect coffee. Friendly staff. It has a garden which is a treat. It makes you feel that you are outside UK. Love it 💕

Gorgeous coffee shop. Wonderful little nook to while away some time. Fabulous treats and refreshment for body, mind and spirit! They didn't make me say this! I just really loved the place!!

Thank you so much for having us. Chorizo eggs dish was perfect, the young lady who served us was super pleasant and treated our pups like royals 😃. And that Moroccan dessert melts in the mouth. 😋
You will definitely see us often 🙏

Very nice and charming coffee place. Very tasty sandwiches and great coffee, with a nice service on top. I can't recommend it enough.

This place is incredible! I always go to coffee shops around London and one of these are the best. The reason I put four stars is because it {truly} wasn’t the best coffe shop all time. The coffee was average, but another reason I didn’t put 3 stars is because who would give 3 stars for such great decor designs in this café!

Encountered this coffee shop by chance on a very nippy early Sunday morning, a little haven to warm me cockles.
Good selection of coffee, though being a tea drinker, thankfully they have a good selection of tea. You can bring your dog here, also seating outside, in the back and garden.
Hot tea and salmon a good way to start the day. A nice welcome from staff, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Great location, amazing staff and wonderful coffee. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Just to echo all the positive things already said by others here - cosy independent family owned cafe, simply the BEST tasting coffee I've EVER had! Friendly staff, great rustic decor, river is a stone throw away. Definitely a hidden gem, as I didn't know it was there until a colleague introduced me and well let's just say there's been more lunchtime walks in that direction since! Go drink, eat, enjoy! *Update* Went back with a friend for lunch got caught in the snowfall! Enjoyed the most delicious 5 bean chilli in a bread bowl and a benoffee waffle, which they let us customise! (Phone had died so no pic of waffle but it looked and tasted amazing!)

One of the best cups of coffee in greater London. Most of the food is based on local and homely ingredients and you get good, friendly service. Decor is a mix of modern retro. Highly recommend!
M. C.
I had the pancakes & bacon... make sure you are hungry, it’s a big portion.
Mine came with syrup already on it, so ask if you aren’t a sweet tooth or else it might be too sweet.
Latte was great and the young staff were very friendly and engaged in small talk!
I’ll be back

Consistently great coffee here, a stone's throw from the Thames Path. Cortado prepared exactly as it should be! Don't get over to Strand On The Green that often but when I do, it's always a treat to pop in here. Good for coffee and a fine selection of freshly prepared smoothies too, for any thirsty toddlers. Also some random deli snacks on offer too - picked up a trio of Cornish biltong packs on my latest visit. Highly recommended!

The composition of the interior, classic and heartwarming, the colours somewhere between olive green and pecan brown - I could not imagine any better treat to your soul and escape from the daily error and loudness of the fast-paced lifestyle of London. Despite this beautiful place, the house-made quality of the food is a dance to all your senses, from the first bite on you, 're going to experience heaven on earth. Not to speak about the beautiful owner Aziza, always there for you, with an open mind and ear for an enlightened conversation. The place to be!
"To give life to beauty, the painter uses a whole range of colours, musicians of sounds, the cook of tastes -- and it is indeed remarkable that there are seven colours, seven musical notes and seven tastes."
Lucien Tendret (1825-1896)
'La Table au pays de Brillat-Savarin'.

Very nice small cosy cafe in a quiet lane. Friendly staff serving amazing coffee and b'fast.
J. B.
Trying to drink a ‘flat white’ that is almost as hot as the sun. So hot, the two cups it was served in have fused together. The food is nice, as is the atmosphere. The staff couldn’t be nicer, but for the love of god give those guys some barista training.
Y. Y.
Nice little cafe, convenient to pop in when you need a coffee while walking along the river. Coffee was full of flavour, rich and tasty.
S. H.
Absolutely loved it!
Great atmosphere and nice vibes, delicious breakfast and dog friendly, stuff are really nice, would definitely recommend it

It's always difficult to find a good coffee place, the choice is like water in pastis, very personal. Until you find "your" spot, you're left wandering around for a quick fix until you try another place, and another, and another.
I am a coffee lover, a massive one. So imagine my state of elation when I first entered the Coffee Traveler and had a double espresso. I always try the espresso first before anything else as this is the base for every other drink on the menu.
It's been a couple of years now and the Coffee Traveler has become my home away from home. Fresh and tasty pastries, delicious sandwiches, sometimes even made on request, accompanied by amazingly tasting coffee. I have not once been disappointed.
I sometimes have an infidelity and have coffee somewhere else, it's not the same. You always end up back here.
The Coffee Traveler has been one of the only places still open during the several lockdowns, bringing some much needed comfort. Their staff is beyond friendly and accommodating, always here with a smile and making you feel special and welcomed.
They have now been granted the license to serve alcohol and their selection is delicious (try the Chablis, you won't be disappointed).
I am looking forward to spending many more special moments at the Coffee Traveler.

I was here with my friends @yusra and Waffa and we all had an amazing time. Delicious food in a great seating
I will strongly recond it
M. H.
I’ve had good experiences at the coffee shop but I do say they have been slow with my food and drinks on previous visits. Today unfortunately I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and not only I got charged more they didn’t even turn the machine on. I got home and the croissants was cold. Hopefully this was a one off error
S. I.
Nice atmosphere, good coffee / food.
L. P.
Lovely coffee from Caravan, had a V60 of a wonderful Kenyan PB and enjoyed in the sun. Amazing character and friendly staff
G. G.
Great, local independent coffee shop on Strand on the Green. Lovely coffee and fantastic breakfast
t.
Good coffee but that’s sadly where it ends. Owner has a poor attitude, is unnecessarily confrontational and customer service is lacking. A real shame as this place used to be a real gem ☹️
J. U.
Without any doubt the best coffee shop in the area. Super friendly staff. Great coffee, pastries and sandwiches. Popular with locals as well as visitors to the Thames Path which is only a stone throw away.
c. w.
The food was amazing, friendly staff and great coffee !
C. L.
Lovely place just off the Thames path with a nice outside area out back. Great brunch menu, I had very tasty pancakes with yogurt and berries. Bakery selection also looked excellent.
M. J.
Recently I have been to this coffee shop. Such a warm, relaxing and cosy restaurant friendly staff and a lovely owner. Great location and yummy food. I loved my vegetable soup with wholemeal bread. Highly recommended and I will definitely visit again and again.
t. a.
What an amazing eclectic funky yet super friendly coffee shop. Even better under the new management. Great service great products can highly recommend the breakfast shakshuka. Can't wait for it to be fully open again.
J. M.
LOVE this place, amazing coffee, great selection of tasty treats and friendly service every time. I find it very difficult to believe those leaving negative comments have actually even visited this place! The chap making a comparison to macdonalds coffee and the poor soul who believes it ‘ruined her mood’, may find the tepid atmosphere and ‘burnt-milk-with-espresso-chucked-on-top’ style of Costa coffee more to their liking?
M. L.
Lovely coffee shop and delicious pancakes, nice atmosphere, thanks M
k. f.
Had the most amazing gluten free oat cake made with peanut butter. It was delicious. It was so nice to be able to have a sweet treat with a big mug of tea. Lots of places don’t cater for celiac, so I’m really happy I have found a coffee shop that does. Keep up the great work guys!
A. N.
Great place for coffee lovers before having a walk through the river pathway
M. N.
What a hidden gem. I was in the area from London and was so happy to stumble across this place. The coffee is divine and reminds me of being back in Melbourne. The decor is really sweet and the music is all about Motown. Whether you are bringing a date or need somewhere to set up office there are lots of little private areas to give you a relaxed experience.
F. Z.
Such a lovely spot for a coffee and snack. The owner Aziza is warm and friendly and makes fantastic coffee. Have cycled past so many times and now will be unable to resist cycling past again without stopping in! Shukran!
N. A. R.
The coffee shop is in excellent location
The best coffee I ever had very friendly atmosphere Excellent service The host is always welcoming and friendly
The menu had a lot of varieties to chose from
Will definitely come back again Highly recommend it
J. K.
Nothing but great things to say about this lovely little independent coffee shop! A real gem situated next to the river, perfect for a stop off after a long walk along the Thames. Coffee was made to perfection by our clearly passionate and talented barista, carrot and walnut muffin was utterly divine and overall great atmosphere. Will most definitely be back soon!
A. F.
Tasty coffee whilst socially distanced. Almond croissant was good too
D. M.
Wonderful coffee, wonderful staff, wonderful locals. This is the perfect neighbour coffee spot to get your caffeine kick and linger with a book (there’s chairs outside also) or grab a take away and sit by the river.
S. M.
They have AMAZING food there and the employees are so nice.
My favourite part is the smoothies, they have natural organic smoothies that taste heavenly!!! If you haven't already then go check them out!!! ☕😊

Really impressed with this place. The coffee is great, the food is equally so and the service is genuinely friendly and warm. Well worth a visit – it’s slightly out of the way, tucked away on a small road running parallel with the Thames.
D. K.
Great little place we just happened to go and visit. We had some soup and coffee (I know) and some of their cakes. Gorgeous. Coffee very smooth. If you are in the area, then I would recommend you pop in.
D.
Very good soup and bread, like the coffee and bagels. Nice ambience , outside tables and pleasing service. Official Food Hygiene Scores On The Doors 5 out of 5 - excellent.
B. C.
Lovely rustic vibe....makes you feel really far from the city hustle and bustle.
Nice little garden to have a wine or cappuccino
H. J.
Recently moved to the area and we love this coffee shop. The food and coffee are great and the staff are super friendly. Highly recommend the cinnamon buns! :)
M. D.
Excellent coffee & a welcome respite from all the mediocre coffee chains. Close to the Thames towpath too so an ideal spot to pick up a coffee and go and sit on the river watching the world go by
S. G.
Very yummy sandwiches! Excellent bread. Great coffee. We will definitely come back.
G. T. (.
Cosy and different ambiance with lovely staff .If you feel peckish and want to eat something light and healthy but not sure what to eat . Ask to Aziza ( owner of the coffee shop) as she will prepare for you a bespoke yummy food very quickly .Love it .
I will be there again.

Great little gem in Chiswick, coffee and food are great quality, staff really welcoming and friendly, you can feel a warmth of being part a community.
Would highly recommand to visit and discover this great coffee shop
G. C.
SUCH a great little independent, family run coffee shop. The coffee is spot on and there’s always a warm and friendly welcome waiting for you when you walk through the door. Definitely one of our fave places!
G. M.
Very friendly place where many locals stop for coffee, pastries or quick lunch.
F. K.
My friends had both decaffeinated and caffeinated coffee and they enjoyed them. I had sparkling water. Loved the old school desks with the lids, space for pens/pencils and the ink pot holes! 👩🎓👨🎓👩🎓👨🎓👩🎓
A. B.
Grat service, homely atmosphere and truly good quality coffee and food. I highly recommend this place. Top marks for cleanliness.
S. E.
About time Chiswick (grove park) had their very own excellent independent coffee shop!
Delicious coffee and exceptional cake, especially the lemon, lime and polenta.
Quirky, cool and extremely welcoming. I can highly recommend a visit.
3.
Ordered a panini and the baked eggs. The food took almost 30 minutes to arrive (the cafe wasn’t busy). The panini was tasty enough. Good quality bacon, though it could have been crispier.
Unfortunately the baked eggs were flavourless. I assume most of the flavour would have come from the chorizo but as my girlfriends vegetarian we went without. The base was just a passata. No onions, garlic, spices or salt. So disappointing
R. P.
This is hands down the best tasting coffee at least in west London. The only shame is the size of the place; too small for a coffee of this quality in taste.
Gets very very busy and you could wait a little for your coffed, so avoid going there at 9am, when you're already running late (like I do)
I'd give it 4/5 for waiting times. But it's because they take their time that you get a coffee that is well made and well measured; you simply don't get that quality in your independent or high street coffee houses.
My only complaint is probably in one of the very few brown faces in the place which gets me some awakward looks, but that's mainly from customers not staff, who are very friendly and genuinley nice.
Couldn't praise this more highly, so high that I think by recommending this little hidden gem, im actually doing the reader a favour.
M. D.
Beautiful cafe with excellent coffee !

Excellent local artisan coffee shop which serves some of the best coffee (much better than all those clone chains). Great location as well very close to the tranquil river Thames for a contemplative coffee while watching the geese, boats etc.
D. B.

One of the best flat white in town is served at Traveller café. Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. Love the music they play. A gem in Chiswick
K. J.
Love this coffee shop, always great service, coffee and food. Particularly recommend spinach & fet filo pastry!
T. C.
The perfect independent coffee shop experience. Owners friendly and service orientated. Dog friendly and great coffee (also best pain aux chocolates in chiswick). Real community vibe as well.
P. T.
Great coffee and savouries in a funky boho atmosphere. Best coffee in Chiswick? On a par with Nikki's, so I declare it a draw. Great bacon rolls with onion marmalade.
C. C.

We love the 'Coffee Traveller!' super coffee, super food, super smiles :-))). Great to see you all back after the lockdown.

Love the decor, and great coffee. With limited space to sit it's frustrating when they close the back room space early for cleaning in the afternoon.
J. S.
Great quality coffee, but expensive and small amount.
