Reviews of The Elder Press Cafe

Easily the best coffee spot in the area. Great coffee and even greater eateries. A bit on the pricey side but they make it worth. It became my weekend ritual to have a coffee with a morning bun here. And their toasties? Just to die for! Wish they put the pumpkin waffles on the regular menu.

The Cutest and oh-so cosy warm and comfy coffee shop with the Nummiest selection of cake 😋 not to mention lunch and brekkie!! Quite tricky to choose from the colourful culinary creations so will just have to come back often! Such a treat xx 😋
K. B.
Beautiful little setting for brunch/lunch! The café is absolutely lovely inside, clean, and airy. We were sat on the big table at the back, which was such a lovely and comfortable set-up. The food and coffee was also fantastic, honestly, really good food and well presented! The menu is quite short, but that's not a bad thing. (I had the Vietnamese Pancake).
Great stop after a walk along the river and I would happily go back. (Also, the rye cookie... Very yummy!)
K. D.
A nice little cafe close to the river with great food and warm hospitality.
Get here sooner, you may probably not get a table if you get late.
It's always super busy, Which is a testament to the quality of the cafe.

A lovely coffee close to the river. A very nice atmosphere, with a lot of space inside and a very nice outdoor area.
People there are friendly and helpful, and the food is very delicious.
L. H.
Lovely food. Well priced for the area. Staff are friendly. They have some lovely produce they sell also.

Amazing coffee and lovely staff. Definitely next pit stop for Cycle Sisters Hounslow rides.

Highly recommended hidden café in leafy West London.
Had been previously but reserved a table (as it gets quite busy!) on a weekend and was seated in a bright and relaxed space upstairs. Service was super friendly and attentive. Coffee (Origin Coffee) /matcha was delicious. Food and baked goods was fresh and tasty. Well worth a visit.

This cafe has a lovely environment, it is nicely decorated (it has a homely feel). The desserts are amazing and the service is also very very good. I ordered two cakes for my mother's bday and the whole family loved them (lemon merengue and guinness cake)... and most importantly my mum loved them.
I had order the lemon merengue in advance and due to change of plans, I order a second cake (guinness cake) on the same day of pick up and the owner of the cafe was very nice, took the order last minute and also decorated the cakes with petals as I requested.
I need to try their brunch and lunch menu to leave a review on that... but I can strongly recommend the desserts, coffee... ah! And the bread too (very tasty)

Great hand pour (V60) coffee with beans from Ozone. Fresh pastries and food. Stylish decor in an airy space

Discovered whilst walking the Thames Path. Very pleasant environment, clean, good pastries. Friendly staff an good service. Shame about the other customers on their laptops making sure you knew what they are doing and who they knew etc.
S. L.
Nice location in the river with healthy and delicious brunch options. Their cakes are prepared fresh. They have Ozone roasted coffee. They have wifi, charge points and aircon in their light filled space. They also have a lovely back garden for sitting outside. A nice place to to stop or swing by on your riverside walk.
N. B.
Amazing food and staff, in a quiet area, I am in love with this café
A. B.
Good quality coffee, friendly service, fresh and minimal design of the cafe makes it a perfect spot for a stop by and enjoy the best “so far” polenta lemon cake 😀😀
M. S.
Really nice but extremely overpriced place. Don't even go w/o 20 quid. But they have a really nice (but small in size) coffe and cakes (not so small i size :)
H. Y.
Delicious breakfast place, great coffees too. Only downfall is the staff were nowhere to be scene when serving tables. Waited over half hour for our food. Would still go back!
D. R.
The best treats, and good coffee 😍 they have a solid one way system that works really well, and the team are friendly and good at what they do 💪 I can't wait for when I can go for a sit down breakfast 😁
J.
First sit down cafe experience again since mid March. They were able to make their granola bowl vegan on request. Such a lovely spot
J.
Professional, friendly and welcoming. Coffee was excellent, as were the chocolate cookies. Good value.
A.
Such a cool place to go to for lunch/brunch! The Cafe is very cosy, the food is delicious and the staff are super friendly. I'll definitely come back :)

Fantastic cafe in West London. The atmosphere is warm and lovely and the food and coffee are magnificent.
A must after having had a walk next to the Thames.
N. P.
Truly outstanding salad freshness, quality and choice of ingredients. Very small coffees. Lovely long seat cushioned stretching down whole side of cafe. Relaxed, clean and pleasant staff. Will be back
W. L.
I like this cosy café for its friendly stuff, cosy environment and tasty food, especially the cupcakes with grapes on top :)
T. P.
I love their Oat flat white and cappuccino. Also atmosphere of cafe is very nice. There are a few vegan options in lunch menu but I wish they would have more Vegan options in pastry.

I love this place! It's so wonderful and the perfect spot to arrive at after a long walk down by the river. The staff are always so friendly, and the food on offer is mouthwateringly good! Cakes and pastries to go with your coffees, or bigger dishes like quiche of the day, salmon, sandwiches etc. All with tasty yet not your everyday cheese and tomato filling. During busier periods the cafe operates and queue order system and then you can stand in a partitioned area to wait for your order and there's space to sit outside in a courtyard. On a quieter visit during the week there was space to sit indoors with the partitions inbetween tables. Also the perfect pink front door to welcome you in!!
M. M.
Great place with a community feel and lovely coffee. The owner is such a nice lady and love how she created this place for us. The vibe is really good too. Throroughly recommend if you're in the area and want a good coffee and cake!

An absolute gem of a cafe! Perfectly situated on the river, the lovely staff and friendly regulars give it that special community feel. Coffee is delightful, food is even better. Bonus points for the beautiful interior design, and good amount of space if you're into working from cafes!

This is such a great little hidden gem. Not on a high street, but just off the river, nestled in residential areas. This is one of my favourite places. And I couldn’t recommend it more.
Have to admit I do find it difficult to find somewhere that does good coffee and good food, but this place nailed it.
I don’t know whether the cakes are bought in or what, (I doubt they are because they taste so fresh) but they are always different and always great, the orange polenta cake I had was sooooo good.
They also do brunch which is fantastic and a little different. I remember the kimchi pancakes which were one of my favourites for sure.
Great place, lovely staff, good coffee and great food. Love it 🙌🏻

The Elder Press is one of my favourite things about living in the area! It's a beautiful cafe with delicious coffee and a huge amount of effort goes into making sure the menus change regularly with lots of interesting and delicious options available (and amazing choc chip cookies). I go pretty much every weekend and it's the nicest treat.
L. D.
Our regular for a delicious coffee near the river. Staff were extremely nice at our last visit, replacing our coffees when our own toddler rocked our table and spilt them! The food is delicious and healthy and they also have a selection of pantry items for sale
J. L.
Lovely cafe to go for a Riverside walk. Would rate 5 stars if they had more than one vegan brunch options.
R. Y.
A lovely space - fresh, airy and contemporary. Very classy.
Coffee is good. Breakfast was tasty - thought the kim chi pancakes were excellent. The avocado on toast was small but tasty.
Dog friendly in the back room of the cafe.
A lovely new addition to the area and we look forward to returning many times in the months and years to come.
M. K.
Expensive but worthy. A neighbourhood gem.

Having stayed in for weeks, finding somewhere that has excellent coffee, helpful and friendly service, healthy options, accessible toilet, close to thames path for dog walking, excellent social distancing, outdoor seating also available for the nice weather. I would give the Elderpress six stars if I could.
This Cafe is close to the thames path from Hammersmith Bridge to Barnes on Black Lion Lane directly across from The Black Lion Pub. Having been a few times, I have to say the coffee is amazing. It has taken me a few visits before I realised how much space there was inside and out, I have been anxious about being around too many people during this crisis.
I have to be extremely careful and dog walking is my only outing. It was fantastic to find out how many seating options and how safe this cafe is. This is the only place so far I have felt comfortable to eat in from. I bring my little dog and am always told she can come in which is helpful for dog owners. Not all venues along the river allow dogs.
There is indoor and outdoor seating, an excellent range of bread and pastries, chutneys, jams etc... for sale. Have had a filled croissant and it was fantastic. The staff are so friendly and helpful, service is quick as at busy times they have two baristas serving.
Hand sanitizer is available and a limit to how many to enter a time. I have never had to wait very long. There are lots of spaces to park bicycles and access at the side would accommodate pushchairs, wheelchairs or like me leg braces and a dog. The front door has one small step which could make it difficult for wheelchair users. Side access and a window means however access is available.
They have water for dogs at the door and are extremely dog friendly and even sell face masks for anyone who might have forgotten theirs for fifty pence.
It took me a while to discover this cafe despite my walking up and down the river but am so glad that I have. This is my healthier option in all ways for food, social distancing and somewhere I can sit in and eat or grab a coffee on my walk. I always need the caffeine to get home.

Delicious food, served by lovely people in a pleasant and airy space. Our new favourite cafe. All the food we've had has been excellent (and mostly healthy), but the Lemon Meringue Pie is truly exquisite.
J. E.
Great new cafe very close to the river at the bottom of Black Lion Lane South. Gorgeous space, great coffee and warm welcome. Had lunch there today - fresh, healthy and absolutely delicious. Followed by a not so healthy but unbelievably good cinnamon bun. At least I shared it!
P.
Wonderful, imaginative food that you can tell has been prepared with care and love. Kimchee muffins are a particular stroke of genius.
S. J.
Even though we arrived at closing time we were made very welcome and served with a lovely cup of tea and a delicious slice of lemon meringue pie. What a beautifully designed place. It has a lovely peaceful and calm atmosphere and we will definitely be returning for lunch one day.

Beautiful cafe in Hammersmith,
spotlessly clean, just round the corner from Emery Walker house. 12 different teas available , 10 coffee selections , light snacks, cakes etc , toilets on site , small outside seating area, upstairs is a studio space for yoga, and many other events. excellent.
J. J.
Fresh, seasonal just yum food, prepped on site. Great flavors, quality ingredients. Wish it was round the corner to where I live! Thank you to all the team at Elder Press for keeping us nurtured during pandemic.
A. M.
Nice coffee, nice space, plates and jugs are pretty. Scrambled eggs and toast is just enough food, nothing special but eggs cooked well. You could cook yourself at home for a couple of pounds. Not really worth it unless you are feeling a bit lazy and have low expectations. Too posh for ketchup.
S. S.
First class. Top rate good, can't be many better places in a cafe setting. Peaceful, lovely place. Recommend highly.
L.
Highly recommend @theelderpress #cafe in #Hammersmith by the #riverthames. Yummy products made on-site including #lemonmeringue tart, kimchi muffins and serving #ozonecoffee. Hygiene definitely appeared to be on the agenda, with staff constantly wiping down surfaces 💦which was reassuring👍.
Try the tomato tart which are perfection!
C.
Wonderful service, beautiful cafe with lovely architecture everywhere you look and the food is always incredible! Cannot fault anything! We go there every weekend. Lindsay and team, keep up the fantastic work!

Go get a cinnamon bun here then walk it off along the river. I just bought a bun but it was good and more brioche than bread like some which can be dry this was moist and sweet- naughty but nice.
L. B.
Sweet, clean, pleasant staff, great coffee and food.

(Translated) This small cafeteria is an option for breakfast or brunch. Along the river, between Chiswick and Hammersmith, the pity is that it does not have river views. They serve you fast and the food is good. Good atmosphere and minimalist but lovingly decorated. It also looks very clean. It has a kind of very cozy greenhouse that opens onto a patio where they set tables when the weather is good.
(Original)
