Lovely coffee shop with lovely staff and a great selection on the menu (both food and drinks). I'm not vegan but love their vegan selection. Also the location and view from windows are beautiful and great of you like to people watch from afar.

First time here. Spacious, modern cafe spread over 2 floors. If you're looking for a coffee and simple food then this is ideal. Big breakfast sandwich; baked potatoes with a range of toppings. Perfect break from shopping.
My only minor gripe was that our food was not brought together so one plate going cold whilst the other arrived.

Great place....lovely food and coffee ... friendly staff. . dog friendly too....we shall be back ☺️x

Came here this morning after doing leazes parkrun.
The welcome was lovely from the lady who served us, she was very friendly, talkative and helpful.
I had a caramel latte with a fruit scone, they were both nice.
My friends had the carrot cake and the red velvet cake, I was told they were lovely.
Would recommend coming here and I would come here again.

Delicious coffee and toastie! Staff was absolutely lovely, and being dog friendly is a huge bonus!!!

Slow… too slow….
3 drinks, one burger and one panini. We have been waiting for 50min and burger has just come and panini not come yet… @@
——
I would like to response to your reply to my review here, pls see the photos, the “burger” I mean is the food with round bread. If it is not a burger I am sorry you can correct me what it is but definitely we were at camber coffee and had the very slow service.

I only tried ‘flat white’ and it was done well - absolutely delicious.
PS:
1. They also have a decent menu (I didn’t try any item though - see photo attached).
2. It might be good to do some works.

Had a lovely afternoon tea with my daughter at this friendly cafe. Reminded me of one of the many coffee shops I have been to in London. Looking forward to returning again.

Super friendly staff that made you feel very welcome. The food was delicious and filling and it was by far the best oat cappuccino me and my partner had. Highly recommend going here

Slow service at 3pm on a Tuesday. Most of the menu stops at 2pm. Partner had a sandwich which he enjoyed, and my vegan chocolate cake was very nice. Wasn't offered milk or sugar for my (earl grey) tea. Toilets were closed when my partner asked. Seemed clean and tidy and waitress was lovely

Had a lovely cup of coffee first time so we decided to go back the following week. Totally different experience, forgot to bring the teacakes and also the milk. I asked for a refund on the teacakes because we'd finished our coffee, the guy then nearky short changed me until I pointed out that I was £1.00 short. He replied that the prices had gone up the weekend before which meant that the price of a teacakes was increased from £2.00 to £2.50! I'll think twice before going again, which is a shame.

For a coffee shop in a sports shop it's amazing. Best coffee I've had in a long time. High ceilings and windows looking down the high street. Food looked very good, brunch. Was busy with students. Homemade cakes 10/10 especially the cinder toffee banana cake!! 🍰🎂😋
A. W.
Love the Flat White served here - just brilliant!

The coffee was OK, not keen on the mocha being served in a glass rather than a cup, it tends to lose its heat too quickly. The coffees are small for the price £2.50 for a cappuccino, and £2.80 for a mocha.
Due to them being closed for the next two days over Christmas we got a complimentary mushroom soup with our sandwiches; the soup was very nice indeed, rich and thick (a touch more back pepper would have been even better), as for the sandwiches neither of them had much taste. Mine was the red rage pepper sandwich which tasted watery and bland...a bit of brie would have vastly improved it. My friends was the cranberry and stuffing which again was thin and tasteless.
This is not a place I'd come for sandwiches or coffee particularly in future, but for the soup I would.

Interesting design in the bike/sports store...
Very welcome staff.
Food is nice but expensive.
Kids welcome! Lots of books, table games... Students welcome for studying and chatting...
For me was really cold - crazy conditioner ...bbbrrr...
But my porridge was very yummy!
Thank you

Paid £7.50 for a toasted sandwich with salad and chips, and a cup of tea. The sandwich was OK. The tea was OK. The "chips" were actually crisps, which is pretty disgraceful. The salad was yellow and limp, looked like it was about a month old. Miserable.
The spot is nice, it's quite decent inside, could be worse as a café. Food 1 star, everything else passable
S. M.
Very nice and quiet place, good coffee, food and smiling faces. It is situated on the upper floor of the START FITNESS shop. Nice views overlooking the street.

My favourite coffee shop in Newcastle staff make you feel welcome food is good as well
I. H.
🌟 Coffee is very nice. Recommend flat white & iced latte. Also serves smoothies, pastries, sandwiches, breakfast & lunch.
🌟 A small but cosy café. Seats available inside and outside.
🌟 Friendly and helpful staff.
🌟 Great location — very near the Newcastle city center.
❕No toilet available — my friend and I were sitting outside at that time. We had three coffees and one smoothie. We wanted to use the toilet before we left. Then I went in and asked where was the toilet, but was told there was no toilet in the cafe. My friend and I had to walk to the nearest shopping center & find a toilet. Now, good to know there is a toilet available in the coffee.

Fantastic little cafe in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. They recently changed to a new menu according to the person that served me. Wasn't particularly clear if we sit down and they come to us to order or if you go to till to order. But we figured out that you sit down, menu is on table and go up to order. Standard lunch options are excellent, good variety and very reasonably priced. Great value for money and really friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Not what it used to be…
Pre-lockdown this was one of my favourite cafes in Newcastle. Came here all the time to work by the windows upstairs with a lovely view of Grey street, and a small but well-thought-out veggie menu.
Came back today for the first time since the long closure over lockdown and was a little disappointed- it’s like a different cafe without the charm of before.
It’s a shame to see the menu is no longer veggie (plenty of cafes already do meat options!). I got a vegan flapjack and it was so sweet, like a hard crystallised sugar bar. And I also had to sit in the new downstairs area as it turns out their upstairs area is only open on weekends now. If i had discovered this caf for the first time I don’t think I would rush to come back, sadly.

After trying to find somewhere different for a coffee and a bite to eat we found this little gem on the corner of Grainger street, we ordered our coffees which were very nice I’ve never had warm milk in coffee before so it was a nice change, after looking at the food menu we ordered bacon cobs, which again were really tasty and there was plenty of filling, price was good and hopefully return if we are in Newcastle again. Thankyou 👍🏻👍🏻

Got the vegetarian breakfast which was very mediocre and on the dry side, even after I specified I wanted the orange juice with it, I never received it and had to go back to the counter to ask for it. One a positive, the feel of the cafe is nice, it’s a fresh open space and I didn’t try the coffee which might have been better, also looked a decent selection of cakes. 👍🏽
A. E. A.
The vibe there is unmatched. They have fresh cakes that can be paired perfectly with coffee.
J. S.
Wonderful cafe to stop off in before heading to catch my train. Friendly staff, delicious cake and all very well-priced. Appreciate that all their tea is fairtrade too. I'll be coming again next time I'm in Newcastle!
M. H.
Good little coffee and snack food. Well worth the visit.
S. H.
Been a hot minute since I was in a city centre coffee house. But where better than an old fitness joint. I had a bright, refreshing and suitably potent double shot Americano. Pleasant staff, fast service and a nicely decorated joint. Godspeed, Camber.
J. T.
Great coffee and really good choice for breakfast - vegan breakfast was 👌
r. g.
I love starting my mornings with a trip to the lovely people at Camber! The coffee + the company is the best start to my day. If you want a great coffee from down to earth folk then you have to stop by.
a.
My favourite coffee shop in Newcastle! This place is fab, has the loveliest staff and the nicest food and coffee.
B. V.
Located near Eldon square this is quite popular place. Many options for coffe, etc. They have two levels for sitting. Both floors have coffee options n food as well. They have vegan menus as well.
A. G.
Dog friendly, people friendly, city centre cafe. Highly recommend.
P. L.
Great coffee, terrible toast! Drier than the desert. I'll come back for the coffee, not for the food.
A. M.
Fabulous place , my wife and i visit regularly and are always met with a big smile and a its nice to see you both again . Cannot fault this establishment other than it can get pretty busy at the weekends >
S.
Coffee was decent but found it super strange they don't have honey.
R. C.
Big spacious and comfortable cafe above the bike shop. The food is delicious; veggie or vegan. They have very nice tea as well. Service was a bit all over the place when we went but I'll forgive that as the food and ambience is so good.
I. M.
Very nice indeed. And if you're unhappy with the prices, at least you can make back the difference by buying discount sportswear downstairs.
Also there was a really lively south African girl serving me. Energetic? or just taking advantage of free coffee for employees. Either way it was pleasant.
N. S.
Held an event here and Stella and the team were so welcoming and helpful. Great food, drinks and atmosphere within this beautiful building - a real gem! They cater for veggies, vegans and gluten-free diets with a discount for organised group attendees. Highly recommend!
C. H.
Good coffee, and a nice view if you manage to get a seat next to the windows. The decor is simple, the seating basic, but it has a cosiness and warmth that makes you want to stay. The café is joined onto a bike shop, but you don't have to be a bike enthusiast to grab a cup of coffee here!
V. H.
Best vegan hot chocolate I've had. With Soya is lovely normal taste, go with coconut milk and you get a lovely hot chocolate coconut mixed flavour. Staff were lovely and friendly. The place had a great atmosphere and was very clean. Located just off Grainger Market this is a must visit for any vegan or non vegans alike.
R. S.
Better than Starbucks! Lovely space. Good range of tasty food and cakes. My oat flat white was awesome. People who want a meat option should get over themselves.
M. R.
Love this place. Great food, enough space between tables and well ventilated.
t. t.
Nice food and nice staff, been coming for a while and always have a good time here. They serve home cooked cakes which is really nice touch and the coffee is always nice and strong for the price, the shop is located just down from the monument which is nice if you want to rest your feed. Highly recommend this place to any one and I will be back.
S. A.
popped in for a coffee after a busy morning, so pleased I did! What a gem this place is. Coffee is delicious and not over priced like some of the "chain" coffee shops. Catered really well for my friend who is vegan too.
E. C.
Everyone should know about this place... What a find! I can't believe I didn't know about such a chilled, metropolitan coffee shop situated upstairs in Start Cycles in Newcastle. Great food, great atmosphere, great staff. My mozzarella and tomato panini was made to order and my son had delicious teriaki tofu. No more expensive than your branded coffee shops but more for your money as my panini came with a side salad and crisps (£5.50) I'll definitely be back here and would happily recommend to others.
C. O.
Best coffee in Newcastle as well as friendly staff and well lit interior with great views of Grainger Street, couldn't recommend enough!
S. J.
Had two coffees and shortcake. Both excellent as was the service. Been in three times now recently and the same story.
T. M.
Food great chilled place staff very friendly and helpful have been a few times will be back
R. F.
Friendly little cafe... delicious plum cake!!
L. G.
Great independent coffee store, the owner and manager is excellent, so friendly and knowledgeable. Coffee is fantastic and selection of homemade cakes are incredible! Free WiFi and a variety of seating available.
M. S.
Great Coffee as always. Good that it has returned to its vegetarian/vegan roots with lots of vegan options both sweet and savoury. Lovely ambiance and staff.
L. R.
Good coffee, only bit expensive for ordering at the bar yourself…they don’t get your order at the table unfortunately.
M. H.
A great place to chill. Always a warm welcome from the guys at Camber. If you can grab a window seat all the better
The place gets real busy at tomes, testermony I guess to the popularity of the place.
Access is limited as the cafe is on the first floor and the main entrance is through a bike showroom.
Any visit is not complete without one of their smoothies. So many to chose from. I am working my way down the menu.
I summary if you are visiting Newcastle I would recommend Camber for a quick pitstop and a snack.
D. F.
Coffee and cake was amazing!! The woman who served me couldn't be more helpful!
Would highly recommend to anyone! ☕

Very nice cafe with good vibes and friendly staff. Only problem is that it's a bit cold and the sizes of the drinks are not very big for their prices
