I really like this place as the lady who runs it is supper-friendly and kind. I stopped by on my way to a view a house in the neighbourhood. I ordered a cuppa but I didn't have cash on me and couldn't pay by card at the time. She was so nice about it and ask me not to worry. It was a beautiful gesture. Try that in a franchised cafe and see what you get in return!!!!

Best cafe, steaming hot fully cooked fresh every time! Had a long weekend here for my birthday and ended up visiting there 3 times, was well annoyed on our last day Sunday as we had to go to the cafe next door.

Visiting from wigan, we were welcomed and made to feel so at home by the two ladies at salt and pepper. The food was freshly made with a choice of sausage on our breakfast order, the price was fantastic.. I'd recommend everyone to try a stottie mmm, we will be deffo seek out the cafe next time we visit Newcastle. Thanks for a great service and food xx 😊 💕

Small cafe near top of Westgate Hill, squeezed between biker shops and other cafes. It was empty at 2pm which was expected. Staff were very friendly. Drinks are 70p takeaway or £1.50 to sit in which is very cheap. I gave 3 stars as very cold and I came in to warm up, the hot chocolate was very strange, 2/3rds of the top was cold, the last 3rd was warm. I think something went wrong there :-/ despite using a machine and pre-made pods. It wouldn't encourage me to come back unfortunately.
