Definitely worth the 5 stars! The beef dinner was absolutely delightful and the desserts were just as good too! At just under £40 for two people with 2 courses and a drink each was amazing

First time visit and will not be last . Fabulous all day breakfast with real fried bread . Good quality food , cooked well and not expensive. Staff friendly and attentive , service prompt.

I eat here regularly and the food is always amazing. They change the menu frequently and there is always a great choice of sandwiches and different meals. The portions are huge so be warned and try and leave room for cake. Particularly if they have been making sticky toffee pudding or cherry pie. The smells are amazing.
They've worked really hard with social distancing and there is a one way system in place and the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. You can take dogs which is a bonus but I'd recommend you book as it's popular. Outdoor seating is available and when it's sunny that's lovely to sit in the garden.

On our return journey home to St Helens we were looking for somewhere to stop and have breakfast that catered for my wife who is coeliac and needs gluten-free options.
Well this place is perfect, just 2 minutes off the A69, with parking at the rear or on the main road. It’s a quiet village so no problem parking. However you may need to book in advance as this place is popular, and no wonder.
What made our visit all the more pleasant was the people, not just the staff, also the locals, especially Gladys and Nellie, and they were just two dogs on the next table (adorable Cocker-poo’s) their owners were equally as nice and have to mention Billy another lovely local guy.
Anyway, we had two full breakfasts, my wife had gluten-free toast and sausage and have to say it was beautiful.
There was also a selection of gluten-free cakes available (if you just wanted a cake and a brew after a walk), we decided to take two slice of the gluten-free lemon drizzle cake home in a box, which I’ve just finished and was equally as tasty.
The perfect end to a great weekend (hello to the two lovely ladies we may see you camping one day) and thank you to all at the Hearth Cafe ❤️

A lovely cafe and arts/crafts centre. Beautiful building. Popped in for coffee and cake but will definitely be back for a meal, as menu looked lovely. It was very popular for lunches..so advise to book in advance. Very friendly staff.

Good food, good service ... even the sun was shining, so we could sit outside ...

What can I say... The breakfast here is simply fantastic! Can't wait to go back! And the Sunday lunches are renowned but you have to book or you'll be disappointed as every single table can be reserved
V. R.
Lovely food. Venue old church and hall set out beautifully. Studios of artists on site, most welcome visitor and their art on sale.
S. T.
Went for lunch here today and absolutely loved it. The food was great, good veggie and vegan options and good value. The staff were all polite, friendly and helpful and the service was great. Would recommend for a lovely, calming visit.

This a a lovely tea room. Food is good and the do a few nice gluten free things. I visit every time I am in the area.
M. H.
This is an excellent place to drop in for a cuppa, a sandwich, or a full all-day breakfast or a full lunch or Sunday roast. Best to book a place to avoid disappointment. Usually parking on road outside, and a few steps up to their front door.
Their apple and gooseberry crumble with cream alone is worth a return visit.
J. W.
This is a gem of a small cafe, always busy. Book a table or be disappointed.

We had a fabulous brunch about 10:30 a.m. today! Four adults, plus a mellow dog, enjoyed a fantastic meal in their front garden this morning. I had the best Eggs Benedict I have ever had. On the hottest day of the year the white wine was certainly cold. Great food reasonably priced and such lovely staff Thank you
G. E.
Had 2 all day breakfasts, they were absolutely lush filling and not greasy, high quality bacon and sausages. Staff attentive and well mannered will definitely be back.
J. S.
5* food 5* service. Would definitely go back... ❤️
S. A.
You can tell it's good by the fact all the tables had "booked" signs, so suggest ringing to ensure a table during busy periods.
V. M.
What a lovely little cafe to go to. Staff always very pleasant and happy to advise. You wont find better food and so beautifully presented anywhere. Always a joy to go but at busy times best to book a table as it is very popular. An absolute treasure.
W. A.
Delicious food made fresh on premises. Snacks, meals, cakes, treats, unusual soft drinks. Friendly, helpful staff who will try to adapt food choices for you where they can. Great vegan and vegetarian choices. Will definitely be going back.
M. W.
Great food, good service. Easy parking available. Dog friendly (but ring in advance if you have one so that they can accomodate you). Covid rules applied but doesn't spoil the visit. Great all day breakfast and the tuna sandwich I had was packed with flavour. Will definitely visit again soon.
M. S.
A lovely homely place to eat. We just had sandwiches but they were excellent - great quality ingredients served in very fresh bread. Service was also friendly and efficient. Would recommend a visit or two.
S. B.
This cafe will appeal to people who like intimate uncomplicated locations with excellent, reasonably priced, home made food. Friendly efficient staff. Decent selection of food and drink.
In the same building as a multi space art gallery housing different artists and styles.
Well worth a stop if you are passing.
Was recommended by local people whilst I was visiting the area. Will definitely go back when I visit again.
J. H.
Fabulous place varied menu. Good coffee and warm cheese scones what more could you want .
P. G.
Lovely friendly, safe, socially distanced coffee shop. Fabulous tray bakes and cherry pie with ice-cream/cream. Thoroughly recommended, BUT you must book ahead to make sure there is space.
A. W.
Lovely little cafe off the beaten track - good food and surprisingly good coffee!
J. H.
Lovely little cafe , sells a wide range of cakes and drinks. Sat outside as it was nice and sunny today.
B. T.
Two weary cyclists arrived for cappuccino and cheese scones. Friendly staff, fresh fare and very tasty. I eat quite a lot of cheese scones whilst cycling around the NEast and can honestly say these were some of the best! We will be back.
S. G.
Fab little cafe, can be very busy but worth it.
H. A.
Fab breakfast, very cute traditional cafe. Food is wholesome and fresh.
N. P.
Lovely relaxing atmosphere. Lovely food.
R. L.
Not an extensive menu but a wide variety of choice of paninis, soup of the day with fresh bread or scone and breakfast menu (as well as some puddings and a couple of choices on the specials board). Delicious and fresh food. Friendly staff. Beautiful artworks to admire in a cosy and inviting environment. What more could you want. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. If you're interested in the art studios, it depends who has their studio open at the time of your visit.
J. O.
A great welcome, great food and dog friendly too. Brilliant...and the Sunday dinners are the best for miles around. Great art and artists on site, the quality is high-end, a brilliant morning or afternoon to be had here,
Q. K.
ALWAYS great quality!
I've tried a fair variety of stuff from/at The Hearth and have yet to find anything that's not either good or, more often, very good.
Give them a try.
Keep good things alive
i.e. The Hearth...
and you.

For such a small coffee shop they have a fantastic menu that is quite quirky and very delicious. Excellent imagination used to make sandwich fillings more enjoyable. Very popular and busy little place - two rooms and seating outside. Dog friendly and good veggie choices.
Fooeing this reviw above the menu has been changed for the summersnd I am extremely disappointed in their selection. There is now sausage for breakfast, lunch charge and often so as a special. Most of the main dishes are spicy, peppery or hot with the exception of a chicken dish which is bland. The menu is not well balanced for options of hot foods now. I will not be back until the menu has changed.
G. D.
This venue holds great music nights with a great variety of artists. A table can be booked for dinner on the night of the gig, the meals are excellent and good value for money. As it is a small venue I recommend booking early.
G. T.
A small cafe in the heart of Northumberland, it is well worth a visit as the food is excellent and the service is welcoming and friendly. I love the little games which are on the tables and the library of books and magazines. Fantastic place and well worth going out of your way for a visit.
