Found this gem of a place when looking for places to eat before arriving on holiday. How we've never found it before is a puzzle. So good we ate here twice during our stay on the island this holiday. Must remember to prebook though for when we return in September. Very popular with the locals which is always a good sign. Highly recommend the chicken burger. 2 very happy motorcyclists from the Lake District.

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had! What an amazing way to end our holiday. It's a shame about the weather when we visited because I would have loved to have sat outside. We got amazing sea views at our table inside anyway. The staff are really friendly here and the cafe is nicely decorated. Food came quickly and the presentation left us gob smacked. This is a must visit cafe.

We were touring the island on our bicycles and we were on our way to the port to leave the island. Thought we should stop for a last bite and a last swim before we leave. We arrived without booking and between services, as breakfast was over and lunch wasn’t served for another 15 minutes. Staff got as table for an hour or so which was perfect for us. The food was delicious and the portions generous. Lots of lovely choices. The views unmatched. The service was friendly and quick. Thank you for a lovely last lunch on the island.

Perfect location, great quality breakfast, friendly staff. We were in a rush and got served very quickly, albeit in February. Scrambled egg and bacon - delicious and generous portions. Avocado on toast - perfect! Loved the peashoot garnish.

We came here for some lunch. Seating is currently all outside which is fine by me as you can see the beautiful sea and look over at Portsmouth watching ships go by. My salad was lovely and slightly warm too which added a special touch to a standard salad. It was delicious. Food is slightly pricey. Salad is £12 and burgers are £12-£14 so it's what is expect to pay for a burger these days. But like I'd said above the salad had a lovely unique twist. Drinks were lovely. They offer soy, almond and oat milk which is pretty rare in the island. The decorations inside is beautiful. Currently there is no sitting inside due to current restrictions. There is only one toilet for all to use which includes a pull down baby change. Slight warning... If you are pregnant or over a size 18 you won't be able to shut the door and pull down the baby changer!! It's a very tight squeeze. You can't leave the door open and pull it down either! But there are beach huts around the corner where you could try changing a nappy on the grass should you need to. We had a take away ice-cream to talk away with us for a walk towards Ryde pier afterwards. They serve Kelly's ice-cream so sorry yummy! I'll definitely return here

Great location for a lunch if your having a pit stop during your walk or day out, perfect location during summer. Small, quirky menu with some great choices of dishes with international inspiration, that are way better than the usual fried drivel you get on the island!

As you look out across the Solent, turn right and walk along the promenade. The beach becomes dog friendly and at the end you'll find the cafe. We always come here when visiting the island. Staff are always friendly and polite. Food and drinks are good value. Water bowls for dogs are outside around the tables area.

Beautiful location. We ate outside and had views all the way down the beach and across the Solent. The food came out super fast and was really good quality. The Poke's were superb. So many different flavours really well put together. Loved it. Thank you Dell team!

Maybe I'm wrong but I can't help judging cafes by their toilets as much as their food service & atmosphere...and I'm sad to say that the one here would benefit from a good clean. Yes, I realise it'll be customers making the mess but it's also used by staff. Someone should take responsibility for regular checks and keep on top of it. Little & often would work...Unfortunately the food could also have been hotter, better...cheaper!

Fantastic view and lovely food. Was difficult to find as Google sent us to the wrong part of the coast. As you come to bottom of puckpool hill, turn into the gates and go to the end of the lane.

We used Dell's for both take away and eat in. Take away was ice cream and pints of peroni . They give you paper pint cups but still serve the draught peroni, so nice and cold for you to take down to the beach. Ice creams were generous at £2.50 and really nice. Food we ate in. We had a table overlooking the beach and the sea outdoors. Kids loved it and had options for vegetarian, meat eaters and kids- no easy feat these days. Friendly, awesome views, kid friendly and right on the beach. £65 family of four to eat. 1 x kids portion, 3 x adult two of which were vegetarian. I recommend you go here.

We were visiting Isle of Wight and happened along this place on a walk. It had beautiful outside views but preferred the inside with lovely decoration. Was very busy we were lucky to have a seat and I can see why. Excellent cafe in an amazing location overlooking the seafront. Service was super efficient helped by a call button on the table. Because of Covid, I'd recommended you book ahead. We didn't but were lucky to get the last table outside on a hot and sunny day. The flat white was well made and the breakfast was delicious (poached eggs on avocado and sourdough and a veggy full breakfast). I'll head straight for this cafe next time I visit the island.

Just heavenly! we had the perfect view of Ryde at low tide on a really beautiful day but Dell Cafe was the truly the icing on the cake. Really popular so advise to book but we happened to stumble on it walking from Ryde to Seaview. Ive been here before visiting the island but only had coffee so I had no idea what to expect. We treated ourselves to a cocktail in the sun, a Sakura Spritz which was delicious. We only intended to stay for a drink but the staff were very kind as the person who had reserved our table didn't show so our luck was in. The summer menu is divine, so nice to have lighter, fresh and tasty options which were Asian inspired. I relished the fish special, tempura sea bass with the best asian slaw ever and fries and my friend enjoyed the grilled prawns with lime and garlic. We could not fault it! A bottle of cold Picpoul and honestly we were blown away by the quality. Thanks to both waitresses too for being so diplomatic as someone decided to just sit at our table, block our view and had no intention of ordering but you dealt with the situation admirably for us. Thank you, I am definitely returning whatever the weather.

Sorry, but today’s visit to the Dell was poor, it was so busy and I don’t think the kitchen can keep up with the amount of tables. Also the toilet situation is awful, one toilet for the whole restaurant at a busy time is just not enough. Food is nice, not extra special but fresh with asian twist. Really badly trained waitresses though, absolutely ignorant. If you see an empty plate, take it! If we have buzzed, answer it (not busy period)! Girls are just standing and blinking silly. We have waited 25 minutes just to pay. Train your waitresses how to work properly, it is not complicated.

Stopped here for milkshakes and smoothies. Absolutely the best smoothie I have ever tasted! These guys do a really interesting choice that you won't find elsewhere, and they make them perfectly! My partner really loved his milkshake. There's a fab seating area by the seafront, or you can sit inside and see the gorgeous views if the weather is poor. Staff are absolutely lovely and so friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault this lovely cafe!

Food here is special. Katsu curry that is rich velvety but with a subtle heat. Lamb tacos fresh and beautiful. Crab gratin was just sublime and something that I will try to probably recreate for the rest of my life, but will never get the same. My only criticism is that they need to be a little bit more generous on portion size of the meat.

Me and my other half love this cafe. Its a great location over looking the sea and Portsmouth. The food is fantastic although the menu does change regularly (each week I believe) and drinks are well made. In the summer months we go at least once a week! Looking forwarded to the summer and bringing our doggie here; now that we have a puppy of our own.

We had a lovely lunch here, great location, which is weirdly less windy than the rest of the beach! We all had crab sandwiches, which were very good and came with a nice little side salad. My 3 year old had a children's pizza, which was ok. She ate most of it. Nice tea after lunch in proper ceramic cups. They even have a selection of children's games to keep the little ones amused while the adults enjoy their tea! Would definitely go back!

Visited here for a light lunch on a grey day in August. We decided to give this cafe a try based on other reviews. It's a busy cafe and for a good reason. The staff are very friendly, and both the service and food are good. One thing to note is it's not a buggy or baby friendly cafe - there is only one toilet and no baby changing facilities. Inside the cafe is quite tight in parts so no good for buggies or pushchairs.

I would have given this 5 stars but the speed of the service let them down. The food was great, amazing fresh crab sandwiches. But I'm still puzzled as to why we had to wait 45 minutes for cold food. The server said that it would be longer than usual wait for the food, but the minutes ticked away. Great views of the solent and Ryde, I will try again and hopefully up the stars next time.

Lovely cafe on the walk from Appley through to Puckpool and Seaview. Very nice coffee and a good breakfast, if a little pricey. This place is dog friendly so perfect if you are walking the pooch and fancy a quick bite and a coffee. A small criticism is that it is very foot traffic heavy and cyclists do not dismount when travelling past so it's fairly easy to lose your coffee, the cafe however shouldn't be held responsible for the general publics lack of courtesy or ability to read signs. If you plan on coming here when the weather is nice...early bird gets the worm, the place gets busy, quick. Overall worth a visit and the view to portsmouth on a clear day is quite pleasant.

Fantastic location, good food, polite staff but our food came out 3 times and because the orders numbers had been messed up it took a while to convince the waitress it was ours. No clean cutlery to eat with, I think they struggled to cope with a busy day, and then we had to pay £7 for a kids ball that we later found for £2.99 a few hundreds yard away, so be good to price the kids balls before they get hold of them.

Having read reviews of the Dell café I had to try it. Located on the sea front the café has splendid views towards Portsmouth. We had the Veggie breakfast and Huevos Rancheros. Very tasty food but with the sea breeze you do need to eat fast or your food will be cold. Dog friendly too.

It's well worth taking a long walk along the beach from Ryde to enjoy coffee and cake at the Dell Cafe. You get a great view of the beach and across the water. There's seating inside and outside, with parasols for those who want to avoid the sun. I went there for the first time in a few years, and it's been smartened up and is really nice. I had a really nice coffee and some lovely cake. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there's WiFi too!

Dell Cafe is always a treat to visit with stunning views over the solent while enjoying a mug of tea and a cake. But the one thing I can't tolerate is the rudeness from the lady behind the counter. She's like death warmed up. Very little passion for the job and makes us feel we are an inconvenience to her. Three times now we had her so next time we will not go in if she's serving behind the counter.
