I love coming to the Mitre to work. Tasty drinks and treats, and Sarah is such a friendly face to see. Dog friendly, which is a huge bonus!

Lovely space for meeting friends, very comfortable and friendly staff. It is a great coffee house, that provides a very small selection of food such as warm baps, and soup. If you're looking for a substantial meal this is not the place. However the coffee is delicious and the bacon bap and wedges were tasty too.

I think it’s important to leave good reviews when it’s deserved. I’ve been to Mitre a few times post-lockdown and I’m always impressed! The coffee and cakes are great, the staff are utterly lovely. The outside seating area is super nice on a sunny day. Rapid service! Great prices. The inside is always immaculate and it’s been set up very well for social distancing measures. I am Yet to try the food but from what I’ve seen it looks delicious.

Just finished our lunch and it was delicious. Had the beyond burger with chips and it was the nicest I have eaten in a long time. The food arrived very quickly and the staff were accomodating of our requests. The service here is fantastic. The staff are friendly, fun and made us feel really welcome. They are also making sure everyone feels safe around Covid. Would highly recommend!

The Mitre is a FANTASTIC place and they serve GREAT coffee(or which ever drink that you want)and their cheese scones are DELICIOUS! They are also VERY good at lending me a 2 pint bottle of milk, and their 'service' is OUTSTANDING!

We love visiting the Mitre Café - it is our treat of the week - and one of our most favourite places to visit. We always enjoy the cakes, light bites and coffee. The staff are friendly, courteous and helpful and the atmosphere is great. It is relaxing, stylish and always welcoming.

Ok for basic brunch. Portion sizes slightly small and bit overpriced. Two salads that were advertised as a main but actually more of a side salad and cost £15 for both! Full English breakfast was okay. Service friendly though

My boyfriend and I came here as a nice halfway point between us after seeing such positive reviews and weren’t disappointed! I hardly ever leave reviews but this is an exception. Honestly one of the nicest places we have been with all the best aspects of a pub, restaurant and cafe. There is an amazing selection of gluten free products, so much so I basically wanted the entire menu! Great price (even for a student!) and a great environment. Definitely coming here again!

I have been to the Mitre a couple of times since it was refurbished as a new cafe, though not previously. There are an excellent range of meals here, the food is fresh, delicious and superbly presented, the cakes here are very tasty as well, also thank you for the free Lotus biscuit that came with my cup of tea! The staff here are really friendly and welcoming and there is a real community feel in this place. I would also warmly welcome and commend the work being done by the Mitre in partnership with St Thomas Church to help refugees and some of the most vulnerable people in society, furthermore, I think the offer of customers to pay, for example, for an extra coffee, so that for people of whom money is "tight" do not have to use their own money, demonstrates the inclusive nature of this cafe as a sanctuary for all and not merely just a business. I am very pleased to have this cafe close by and I very much hope it continues to thrive.

We arranged to have our drinks reception at the Mitre after our wedding ceremony and it was fantastic. They were in communication with us to arrange every detail and the staff on the day were so friendly and helpful. It’s the perfect local spot!

Goujon sandwich with delicious side salad of mixed leaves and dressing and a pot of tartare.....very nice. Thought I'd find a cosy corner to do a bit of work, so I did. 2 coffees later I went home refreshed. Great place for a change of scene. Opportunity to buy a 'pay-it-forward' coffee too, lovely idea. Such a lovely vibe here! Beautiful natural light, spacious yet cozy - a brilliant quiet place to set up camp and study for the day. Coffee was nice and the pastries were lovely!
