Found this gem whilst making my way up to Lake District and was a great place for food and drinks.
Let's start off with service. Fast and friendly staff with great vegan options. Many seats downstairs, upstairs and outside.
Atmosphere and decor was great. Very contemporary and hipster.
Food was delicious! Me and my missus had the daily special, plant based breakfast and mushroom toast.
They even had vegan sweet treats including cake slice, flapjack and so on.
Defo recommend if you're in the area!

This is a really nice coffee shop in Beeston. My espresso was delicious and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Inside it's bright and clean. And there is an outside area that looked good too. It just wasn't quite warm enough to be out there when I visited.
Impressive. I'll definitely be coming again.
S. S.
Lunch with a pal. She had the vegan brunch, I had the plant based brunch. Both delicious. Atmosphere upstairs was very studious and hard to have a lively conversation or a private chat. Maybe some music would help to mask chat and not be too intrusive to those on their laptops. Still I will be going back.

A fantastic little cafe with an outstanding choice of well delivered coffees, cakes, and a great selection of lunch items. I personally recommend the rosemary potatoes. I keep trying to recreate them at home! Best mocha available locally and variety every time as they use different coffee blends.
All of the staff I've met have been lovely too which is a real bonus.
If you want a cheap coffee and snack, go to Greggs, don't go to a nice, modern cafe and complain about the price. (Saying that, it's still very reasonable)
J. N.
A small cosy place, with decent food and good coffee, especially if you are a fan of lighter roasts.
C. K.
The homemade sausage in the focaccia is just out of the world. the best breakfast place you can find in Beeston! Ever since I moved to Beeston I was never quite happy with any cafes I tried but this place is definitely the best breakfast place in Beeston for sure. Also the staff are so nice and friendly!!!
M. L.
Great coffee and some delicious cakes. They also do sandwiches etc too. Quality was excellent and really friendly staff. Will certainly come back
J. F.
Coffee and hot chocolate nicely served, but cups were small. For price would have expected medium. Tasty tray bakes, the caramel and date slice was delicious.
E. T.
Had gorgeous Saturday brunch, highly recommend 😊

Pastries are decent (especially the fresh ones at the weekend) and coffee is good.
Service, on the other hand, has been pretty much a constant letdown.
I don't think I've ever been welcomed into the place ("hello", "thank you", "have a nice day"... anything really!).
Often times I'll go in during a weekday, when it's really quiet, and staff will take a few minutes to serve me because they're talking amongst themselves/sorting out shelves/whatever - it's quite inconsistent.

Disappointing. I saw the sign outside saying “Great coffee served here” and thought I’d give it a try. I can see the appeal for a lot of the clientele but I was hoping for a choice of coffee and that apparently wasn’t possible. I have to disagree with the sign - my coffee was not “great” nor was the cold hard pastry.
Service was pleasant and prompt and the menu looked nice, but I won’t be coming back for the coffee.

In reply:
Thanks for your response. Unfortunately it didn’t seem clear to me - maybe I was a bit slow. Perhaps instead of saying we CAN’T do xyz you could try saying “we CAN do you a nice filter coffee in xyz flavours”. I would then have understood.
Also a Pastel de nata is nicer served warm.

Lovely coffee and lovely cake. Would recommend the pecan cinnamon bun. Dog welcome too which was lovely.
S. Y.
A lovely little coffe shop with fantastic coffee and a tasty assortment of snacks and sandwiches.
The seating is comfortable and the outdoor seating has heaters on a timer switch for personal preference!
M. B.
Brilliant service, nice friendly staff, top tier speciality coffee, great food, snazzy looking interior.
The coffee beans you can buy here are the best ive found anywhere in the area.
Highly recommend a visit.
E. M.
Excellent coffee from local Roasters. We buy their beans for our espresso machine as well. First visit to the Beeston branch and enjoyed our coffee.
A. H.
A nice place to grab some coffee and breakfast. Their oat milk chai latte is the second best in Beeston by my reckoning
Breakfast was solid - slightly too much bread in the bacon focaccia for me to finish, I was jealous of the pancakes my girlfriend got so a tough experience for me last time out. I'll do better next time.
J. D.
Visited twice now and been really impressed both times. The French Toast with maple syrup is unreal!!! Well worth a trip!
J. C.
Excellent independent coffee shop. Friendly and welcoming. Well brewed coffee and lovely range of cakes.
B. H.
A really lovely place. The staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. The food was great. And they were so patient with my children. I haven’t experienced customer service like that for a long time. Thank you Cartwheel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
K. M.
Can’t get enough of this place and their specialty coffee
My best and beyond
The Smashed avocado on sourdough with poached egg is my favorite breakfast there

A great place for a great coffee.
N. B.
Friendly staff, cute little terrace outside. A very nice vibe. Even have some vegan treats available which is always nice!
M. S.
Called into this place today to shelter from a sudden rain shower....what a pleasant surprise. Nice coffee, nice cake and really friendly helpful staff. The only thing that stops me giving 5 stars were the group of swearing, drinking people sitting opposite the outside area. Such a shame as I have been told they are usually there by other customers.☹
M. C.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Can't praise them enough...
S. S.
Lovely venue, friendly staff, delicious food, with generous, freshly made portions. Was a little gem to discover today.

A great location in a sun trap in Beeston, and not usually as busy as other cafes. Service is polite but always slow, and the selection of cakes is very limited at the moment. I'll still be back regularly.
V. B.
Good quality food. Pleasant atmosphere.
R. W.
Ordered a salted caramel latte from here back in December during lockdown relaxations, and the service was above and beyond. I asked the barista if he would cry into my latte because the natural salt produced by the human body tastes SO much better than whatever fake salt flavouring they put into the latte syrup (and it also has far better healing qualities). To my surprise the barista actually agreed to it and spent a few minutes crying over my cup. Always impressed when staff are so willing to make you feel like a valued customer - will definitely be back and leaving a hefty tip next time!
N. B.
Friendly staff, cute little terrace outside. A very nice vibe. Even have some vegan treats available which is always nice!
C. E.
Lovely little gem with great food and nice people.
J. M.
My favourite coffee shop in Beeston. At one point I came here daily. Ideal place for meetings either casual or work-related. Upstairs has a useful table enabling laptops to be plugged in. Variety of sweet treats, and tasty food menu. I recommend it to all my friends!
S. S.
Love this place for a coffee. There are seats outside and they are dog friendly. The staff are very nice.
B. G.
I've been a customer for about six years now and there's good reason for that. The coffee quality is through the roof, fresh roasted, fresh ground. Latte art on every cup and consistently lovely. There are also lots of tasty baked goods to sample.
Simply put, the Bean is an independent coffee shop that's serving excellent coffee day in and day out.
M. J.
Very nice coffee shop, clean, tidy and well thought out staff are very welcoming and there is seating outside and with more up stairs, free WiFi and if you get there early the first 40 people will get a free tea or coffee and that's everyday, the food always looks good and is well priced.
M. R.
It's OK, coffees OK, food is ok. Cakes look fantastic, but are a bit of a let down when you tuck in.
Best thing is the sausage roll, which is delicious if a bit pricey considering it's just a sausage roll.
Service is quite slow/inconsistent.
P. S.
Amazing coffee, amazing food. Don't miss this place if you're in Beeston!
A. D.
High quality coffee made well, tasty food too. Recommend their port sausage roll with chorizo plus apple sauce and a long black. The guys and girls that work there are very friendly
M. C.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Can't praise them enough...
S. D.
Upstairs room can be a little noisy due to tiled floor and stone table tops. Large wooden bench with charging points is a great idea. Coffee improved since my visit a year ago.
A. P.
Ive used this place for 12 years and still prefee it to any chain. It won "best espresso bar in the UK" as voted by readers of The Independent. Beautiful coffees, staff remember you, your order and are genuinely nice. Perfect.
C. S.
Great atmosphere. Lovely cuppa tea. Could have done with more cakes though
C. B.
A great place for a great coffee.
S. S.
They have extra seating upstairs, they bring your drinks to the table rather than making you stand there and wait. My kid loves the baby-chinos (which was dirt cheap) and the books which they provide to read. The drinks were lovely.
C. D.
Lovely venue and staff - highly recommended the pour over coffee
M. O.
Very busy. They forgot the salami sandwich I had ordered and needed to be reminded. But when I eventually got it, it was delicious
L. C.
Nice coffee. Relaxed atmosphere. Looks slightly worse with refit?? Now has badly whitewashed walls and dark wood tops on tables and high stool areas. Looked better pre refit. Should have just refreshed. Still a great place
S. P.
Love the coffee here. The little wait for the coffee is worth it, you can tell it's good quality from the taste
P. R.
Sometimes they have a pecan sticky bun here and it's the best thing I've ever eaten. I'm not even exaggerating.
D. W.
Some really good coffe comes out of this place. There has been a noticable increase in quality and attention to detail in the last few years.
The food options have been pared back, which is a shame, but what is on offer is still good quality.
J. G.
Coffee, breakfasts (vegan and french toast) were great. Brownie was dry and disappointing
C. S.
Best coffee place around. The cakes have always been amazing too. Can't recommend enough.
M. L.
Visited today for lunch and a drink. The service was excellent and very fast and the quality of the food was great to. As many reviews have said the coffee is excellent and definitely worth trying. I will be visiting again in my lunch break
P. B.
Great place to go for a lovely coffee. Staff are very friendly and helpful to. Service with a smile even on a busy day.
a. p.
Pleasant staff nice coffee worth dropping in
C. T.
I've had many visits to the Bean and I've always enjoyed the drinks and atmosphere. Sadly my visit yesterday was spoiled by loud inappropriate music, so I didn't really enjoy my time here. I was trying to read and couldnt concentrate. Maybe next time itll be better.
D. H.
Great coffee and a friendly atmosphere
M. A.
Very nice food, well looked after
E. B.
The staff are super friendly and the food is incredible! 10/10 recommend.
S. b.
The paninis are definitely the showstealers for me! Me dad visits purely for one of them - there's always an excellent range of fillings for both vegetarian and non-vegetarians alike. Coffee is always excellent and the staff are always really friendly and helpful.
J. W.
Find the staff very helpful, always nice and clean (the cafe not the staff) lol tho''they are too. Lovely cakes and coffee ☕ nice to just sit and relax, after doing the shopping. 1st rate.
B. M. V. B. (. t. S. G.
Mine and my partner drinks where cold and not hot the breakfast was hot tho that's why I gave only three stars
W. F.
Not cheap, but easily worth the money, even for sfudents. Excellent brownies 👌
K. B.
Best coffee outside Italy.
I love Bean in Beeston... and they've got new chairs, and nice outside benches under an awning. Paninis with a gourmet flair and utterly sinful cakes....
Update: recently added breakfast dishes and they are perfectly cooked.
J. R.
Regularly go to study, drink coffee, and eat the smashed avocado (with added bacon!), which are consistently excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff polite.
S. B.
Our "go to" coffee shop in Beeston. Lovely coffee and good choice of delicious cakes or savoury snacks in a relaxed atmosphere.
Would always recommend.
D. C.
Lovely coffee shop with friendly staff, enjoyable atmosphere and great coffee
Q. C.
The best coffee in Beeston, if not in the whole Nottingham region. For a coffeemanic (Espresso lover indeed) like me, coffee means everything (or near to everything) to me! Moreover, the staff are really friendly and space are clean with free wifi!
R. C.
Very friendly and nice coffee. Sat outside as it was a nice day ( which was a bit smokey and views of Sainsburys). I had a biscuit which was OK but looked better than it was
P. K.
Exceptionally good coffee, lovely mannered staff, pleasant place to be.
H. B.
Always loved this coffee shop. Staff are super friendly and the coffee is yummy. Great to sit outside in the summer too.
M. K.
Always delicious coffee!
F. S.
I hope the fantastic team here are doing well. Looking forward to seeing you again soon ✌️
(A five starred hello to my fake double a few reviews down 🤠)
J. E.
Great place to get an afternoon espresso! Love the smoothness of their blend, the consistency of their froth and the latte art to top it all off! Bravissimo!
A. O.
Good coffee but a little expensive
A. S.
Good prices. Good coffee AND tea. Seating inside outside and upstairs. Parking available in Sainsbury's carpark. Pleasant polite and helpful staff x
S. M.
Brilliant atmosphere and really friendly staff. Amazing coffee and variety of food available would 10/10 recommend 👌
Y. A.
Simply one of the best and cosiest cafes in Notts. Whenever I visit Nottingham I always pop in to the bean for a cup of coffee. The guys just know what coffee means. They also have this great book scheme of getting a book and putting one back.
A. L.
Great food and great mood!
D. R.
Not as great as it used to be. Coffee is fine but service is very slow and orders get messed up. As a suggestion, why not have as table number you give when ordering.
S. H.
Coffee is good food can be better
S. B.
Awesome coffee and staff. Lovely outdoor seating for those sunny days. Home to my favourite Nanaimo bar outside of Canada
S. C.
Best coffee shop in town!
P. B.
Best coffee in Beeston and to me in town as well. Nice and calm atmosphere and waiting staff very friendly. Cappuccino is amazing
G. M.
Good coffee, friendly service, lots of outside tables, bit difficult to get a pushchair inside due to long narrow layout.
G. A. A.
Great coffee, cheap, amazing overall. Lost my wallet there and it was returned to me with all of its contents untouched
A. M.
Flat white had a slight bitter taste to it hence why I only gave four stars. But a nice relaxed atmosphere overall
R. S.
The most delicious coffee in Beeston, and a lovely environment. I lvoe the travelling books - I picked up a great one on Happiness at Work (Dalai Lama).
A. W.
An amazing little cafe with great places to sit and eat or work as well as outside seating. The food is amazing and everything is decently priced.
C. V. M.
A nice cup of tea in a pleasant environment. A good place for friends to catch up, plus the staff have superhuman patience when it comes to rampaging toddlers!
