G. W.Awesome coffee and amazing people. This is a real gem of a coffee shop and Michelangelo is literally a fountain of knowledge of all things coffee. You always get a warm welcome no matter how busy they are. I must have had every style of coffee on the menu here and all have been excellent.
A.Very lovely cafe, some cants aren’t bothered about being around people, no fault probably just get too much attention! Food is very reasonable and entry fee!
Love that the cats are rescued others are just pedigrees that have been bought, these ones had their own little back story’s!
P. D.Hands down the best ever coffee shop that I have ever been to! Family-run, with grandma making the cakes. So much love, care and attention paid to every product. The staff are also incredible, with a warm welcome and smile throughout. Was impressed by the knowledge of each of their products too, and the coffees they have are all outstanding.
We ate here on two days and the food really is wonderful. Highly recommend both the French toast bun with ricotta and compote, as well as the brioche bun with truffle, mushrooms and eggs.
Will definitely return when we are back in Nottingham!
く.The butternut hot cake is seriously one of the best food I’ve ver had, the roasted kale and veggies have the best balance of sour, sweet and salty, the beetroot sauce goes amazingly with the hot cake, the pesto added a perfect amount of alternative dressing with the hot cake. The smoothie is nice, the cakes look like art, I ordered the chocolate pistachio cake, it’s very very good, I like the dark chocolate on the top, the texture of the cake is perfect, and pistachio cream in the middle is very unique and satisfying, just I am not a sweet tooth so it’s quite sweet to me (but it’s just me). Absolutely adore this coffee shop, will definitely go back again, the staffs were very nice and friendly, it’s just a very very lovely and warm and relaxing place to visit 🤍

J. B.I ordered the chai latte and the rooibos latte with a slice of vegan strawberry and chocolate cake and was stunned at how delicious it all was! The cake tasted like real strawberries and cream and the lattes were silky smooth. I was greeted by some adorable dogs on my way in which was great as well. The atmosphere is low-key, warm and pleasant with a neat food wheel on the back wall complete with lots of plants! I would definitely recommend this café for anyone looking for a cozy place to indulge!

S.Lovely coffee and nicely decorated cafe however the service was shocking. We waited 20 minutes for a latte and a cappuccino and then had to ask to order our food. We then waited another 20 minutes for our food to arrive which was only 3 small focaccia breads which would have only needed warming up… the cafe wasn’t at full capacity so I don’t understand why the service was so below adequate. Maybe because there was only one waitress on shift? I was so looking forward to trying this cafe out as I’d heard such good things but wouldn’t hurry to return and the people I was with agreed….
M. A.Was actually trying to find somewhere else when I stumbled upon this place and I'm really glad I was lost. The best tasting coffee and peppery chicken sandwich I could imagine. Coffee is reasonably priced and the food is probably on the premium end of the scale but worth every penny. Shame I don't live locally, I'd be here far too often.
Should also add that the service was really, really good. Friday morning with one member of staff front of house just owning it.

T. F. W.The food was excellent, the coffee not so much. The soya milk which I was charged an extra 70p for curdled in the coffee. It was so unpleasant I had to throw it away. Seats outside (little plastic stools) very uncomfortable. The waitress was friendly enough.
C. S.The name says it all, the owner and barista is truly passionate about coffee and brings in special beans for brewed coffee, so definitely the place to go for v60, aeropress and whatnot. My flat white was pulled perfectly. The taste of it was more acidic. However, a customer before got his flat white full and mine wasn't and while I didn't like this small inconsistency, it's not significant. Food was really tasty and flavourful, but take note of the rather small portion. Staff was friendly, service was great.

Came back to report since its changes Specialty continues to be one of my favourite Nottingham spots not only for amazing lovingly brewed coffee but for evening dining too. The location is good because you can visit some lovely shops nearby and also walk to the old Market Square!

I had a Caesar salad and was very disappointed - it was literally 5 lettuce pieces, little bit of parmesan, hardly any dressing for £8. I also ordered sourdough for £2.50 - which is just a slice of bread - I left the place hungry anyway. The chicken was ok, but why don’t you put some more lettuce and dressing to make the dish actually filling? Your portions are so tiny! It feels like you are making money on giving only half portions but charging for a normal meal…

A. Y.Let me start by saying that this is not your average coffee shop. The coffee here is clearly carefully chosen and the owner always has time for a chat with a coffee enthusiast (my partner in this case). As someone who loves a good coffee, but doesn't necessarily know much about it, I've never felt judged there at all and the staff are very friendly even if you're just after a super tasty cappuccino and don't know your Ethiopian from your Brazilian (Brazilian coffee that is!). I think we've tried every independent coffee place in town, and while I love them all (Nottingham has done fab independents!), this one is the best for... Well... Specialty Coffee :)

Secondly, I actually decided to try this place, when I found offer on TooGoodToGo. It was great choice - I got tasty croissant with likely it was creme brulee or vanila filling and 2 cakes with perfect icing /pistacio taste/.
Once I will definitely pop in. As I seen the photos of food on google maps - Yummy!

I had a hot chocolate, that actually tasted of proper chocolate and a strawberry & raspberry lemonade type drink which was delicious. The downside is how cramped it is. The tables are very very close together, so have no expectation of privacy if you go to try the lovely drinks

L. C.I was honestly really excited to try out this place after hearing so many good things about it. Got there a bit before midday and it was very busy. Next to us was plates and coffee cups stacked up on the table which seemed like they hadn't been collected in a while. My friend ordered the poached salmon eggs on potato cakes which was roughly around £7...for the price the breakfast item was smaller than we both expected. I ordered the lasagne seeing as it was close to 12pm. It came out lukewarm so I presume they reheat the portions in the back. I dont mind this as I can tell it was freshly made, however I just wish the meal was actually hot. The portion was appropriate though. I ordered a oat milk latte to go with and it had a cute latte art on it. The guy was very apologetic about it being busy as it was just him at the time, however, from first impressions, I'm not sure if I will be going back. If not to sit in again, maybe I would just get a coffee to go as the coffee was delicious.

They source some of the best beans in the world and always provide a hearty, charismatic and welcoming experience in the shop. These are masters of their trade. The premium coffee they stock might challenge your opinion of what a cup of black can taste like. This is top end coffee minus the usual snobbery.

Coffee was good, I had a sweet and delicate Kenyan filter reccomended to me by the super nice and and knowledgeable (refreshing for a barista to be both!) barista which was sublime, obvious skill, care and attention used in brewing. A great selection of beans from various roasters including Gardelli. We only had a couple of snacks but what we did have was very good, and reasonably priced. The shop floor itself is nice and light down one end by the window and cosier in the other end. The toilet however was a bit of a disaster, there are obvious limitations with the building, with the toilet in a kind of outdoor courtyard area. But the toilet seat wasn't even attached, it was on the floor, it was cold and not very clean and there were no baby changing facilities which meant having to change my son on the grubby floor with a cold draught blowing in which he wasn't too fond of. Wouldnt take much to improve it, but it had obviously been neglected. Other that it was a lovely experience.

The chap measures every bean precisely and takes time to create the perfect cup every single time. Then he serves it with a smile and as much info / historical background on the bean-cup process as you'd like. I've travelled a fair bit and sampled coffee all over the world, and this place tops the list for me. Then there's Lucy whose brilliant on the food side of things; making a whole host of tasty cakes, salads, wraps, smoothie bowls... You can hang out in the shop all day and receive an individualised service. Most importantly, the coffee is absolutely devine. Go!

Lucy (the chef) and Michelangelo (the barista) are unbeatable... the cuisine is full of taste and color with particular attention to vegans and vegetarians, the bar and the room very welcoming and warm... little attention to the cocktails and a choice of drinks of all kinds curated directly by Michelangelo!

Che dire, sono stato in questi giorni a Nottingham con un mio amico chef che aveva dei corsi di cucina da fare in questo coffee shop è ho avuto modo di conoscere i proprietari che sono due persone splendide. Ma in modo particolare voglio ringraziare uno dei due, Michelangelo, che con la sua conoscenza, competenza e professionalità mi ha portato in un mondo a me finora sconosciuto quello del caffè. (piccola premessa, sono Napoletano e in quanto tale non pensavo si potessero bere altri caffè all'infuori del nostro) Mi ha fatto provare le varie miscele di caffè che aveva con varie provenienze e tostature portandomi così nel suo mondo fatto di aromi e gusti particolari. Grazie mille.
