Hands down recommend this tea shop!! It is so affordable and it is nice to see so many different teas and knowledgable staff members! The store is one way system and we could choose the tea from list. The staff member explained the teas carefully and it was nice to also get more detailed explanations later on for how to brew the tea. It could be nice to have some general cards on how to brew different teas since for beginner tea buyer it could be a bit difficult to remember. The price is so affordable comparing to some other tea shops nearby and it is really worth it :)!
I am not sure if we can bring our own containers? But it could be nice to have some system where if you bring your container it will be X price less or something to reduce waste :) highly recommend :) !!

Great shop / cafe - bought a Tortoise Shell thermos from there as a Christmas gift (£14 - in 2018) and was well received.
They also do a wide range of teas and coffees and are a bit of a treasure of the Covered Market.
Hopefully people will support them during lockdown so they continue to survive and thrive.

Excellent Coffee. Have been a customer for years but then moved out of the area. Used their online ordering service recently - coffee is as good as it was - surpasses other coffee roasting companies I have tried (and I have tried many)

Really exceptional quality green, white & yellow teas. Great value too. I recommend them to everyone I know. I buy online and the service has been great.

Wonderful coffee beans from across the world in a shop I have been visiting on and off for almost 40 years.

I miss visiting the shop in the Covered Market, but have been happy with the delivery service this year. They are a friendly lot at Cardews, and very customer-focused. Most importantly, it's v. nice tea & coffee at a reasonable price, plus a lot more interesting than the usual supermarket fare.

Cardews is one of the jewels of Oxford. Their tea is delicious (there’s no better way to start the day than with a mug of their Oxford Breakfast Blend) and the shop is great fun to browse, with lovely and super-helpful folk behind the counter. If you’re in Oxford and have the chance, it’s a must. But if that’s difficult at the moment then their online service is every bit as good. I recently ordered some tea and a teapot which got stuck in the mail somewhere and they immediately and unprompted offered to courier a replacement order. Fortunately, the original order arrived in the nick of time, and so the replacement wasn’t necessary, but I can’t overstate how lovely and helpful they were throughout. I’ve been shopping there for 30 years: it’s the best tea merchants in the world. And....they sell great coffee too. What’s not to love?

Best tea in Oxford! The quality is outstanding, and the staff are so lovely and friendly - very willing to help and advise on their vast selection. Be prepared to get hooked! I won’t buy tea anywhere else now. Thank you!

I love this place. The smell as you open the door is so delicious and the choice and variety of coffees and teas is exception. Decent coffee is expensive but Cardews is in line with what you might pay elsewhere but the coffee beans are freshly roasted and in perfect condition. Highly recommend this place if you care about your coffee or tea
