Reviews of Missing Bean Coffee Roastery
B. J.
Amazing coffee shop, high quality coffee, beans roasted on site. Strong coffee and reasonably priced. Super friendly staff bring over your coffee when ready. Loads of indoor and outdoor seating with wifi makes a great place to get some work done. Nicely decorated, lots of plants and great soundtrack playing. Pastries with vegan options.

Now this place is quality. The coffee is the best I’ve ever had. It’s brought to you and beautifully displayed. You can tell they put their heart into it and take pride in it’s presentation. It’s reasonably priced and a great vibe. Staff are really friendly. It’s definitely the best place for a coffee in Oxford in my opinion.

Excellent quality coffee, I had a flat white. They were out of pastries in the afternoon so I tried a pistachio raspberry tea cake which was sumptuous. This place also has a really nice atmosphere. Wish I found it sooner as this is my last day in Oxford.

Definitely my favourite coffee shop in the local area—feels very Melbournian. I buy nearly 500g of coffee beans a week from them to support my addiction/hobby, and they really know their stuff when it comes to roasting. Lovely atmosphere if you just want to hang out with a coffee, too, with nice outdoor seating.

Nice coffee shop and roastery. They do a very good and pretty cheap batch brew filter coffee for £2.20, which I get basically whenever I walk past. They have nice cakes too.
They also deliver beans, and if you are local they deliver your order the next day for only £1 delivery fee by bike.

Lovely neighbourhood roastery and cafe, great coffee, pastry, snacks. Always friendly, always lively with locals. Stock up on beans to enjoy their coffee at home - bring your own container for a small discount! They’ve expanded to many locations in the area, which is a testament to their popularity.

Local cafe takes coffee seriously. Fantastically sourced coffee, available to drink in or takeaway. At the weekends you see all the neighbourhood sitting outside and chatting. The takeaway beans are ground for you. I have now been spoiled for any other coffee, and have a stash and an aero press at work. Small food selection inc GF is a nice bonus.

Great coffee and pastry. I believe they have a large coffee variety, I asked for a flat white and it was very smooth and silky. I also had an almond croissant which I found delicious. Great to start off the day with energy. In terms of location, it's a bit lost in a residential area around Cowley, but it breathes large hippie vibes and it isn't too far away from the city centre (around a 20 min walk)

Wonderful coffee, lovely place to grab a coffee and a pastry. Staff are friendly. And the coffee options are delish!!!
D. V.
Lovely roastry with so much coffee types and nice selection of deserts as well. Would love to try all their coffees in future and try some of their coffee tasting sessions. Having some more seats outside could bring more people to sit outside as well. Lovely passionate staff as well :)
E. R.
Freshly roasted coffee.. love this place as staff is super friendly

A. S. M.

S. A.
Always go there for Ethiopian coffee, which i think is the best in Oxford along extremely friendly staff
J. A.
Really great coffee, purchased a latte which was brewed excellently and had a rich, silky flavour to it. I had purchased beans from them before, but this was my first time ordering in person and I'm glad I did!
The roastery itself is within a warehouse style building and currently operating under covid restrictions, so you'll arrive and remain outside whilst ordering at their till whilst the barista is a suitable distance away. There didn't seem to be that much responsible distancing going on with the other customers, which isn't a fault of Missing Bean, but something to be aware of.

It's no secret that this is one of the best 2 or 3 places to get a coffee in Oxford. A cut above. Great array of pastries and cakes too - Spanakopita is recommended. My 4 year old daughter can also vouch for the babyccino.

Where would we be without the Missing Bean? The business who brought artisan coffee to Oxford have been supplying coffee beans to the Handle Bar since we opened our doors in 2015, and we’ve never looked back.
The service is literally the best!
From helping us design the best roast, to accompaniment through training and help with equipment, nothing is ever too much for them.
Everything is so personal that we can’t (and can) believe we aren’t the only people they look after!!!
With ethics at the forefront of our business, it is liberating to leave the work to them. Their coffee is sustainably sourced, with Ori even travelling around ensuring every step of production is to his high standards.
This also ensures a very high quality of product, one we are proud and confident to serve our customers. In our five years working together, we have never had a bad batch, a bad word, a bad experience.
This relationship is here to stay!

Great little coffee shop - has some great fresh coffee that tastes fab for having been freshly made.
Has a little cafe with a table and a sofa. Do some interesting items on the menu (sweet sticky ball thingy's), although nothing substantial (no panini's or sandwiches,, but that's not the point).
Not many other cafes around this area unless you go to Bannister's cafe or FABS cafe on Iffley Road, or go along to Cowley. Fits the bill if you're looking for something niche.

Fabulous coffee.. I had a strong black Americano as I like it! Very nice and strong taste ... Service ? Well done guys and...girls, fast and friendly 👏

I have ordered coffee from The Missing Bean during lockdown and the service has been gold standard! They delivered to my door. And nice and promptly
Thank you it has made my mornings so enjoyable with your beautiful coffee!

Amazing artisan coffee, quite a range and you get a discount if you bring the coffee bags back to re use. Love businesses that do their part for the environment.
I am still enjoying the Brazilian beans as a pourover.
M. G.
Good coffee and roasting shop. Parking not easy.
E. M.
More espresso bar than café. Always smells amazing as they roast their beans on site. Friendly service and skilled baristas. Perfect coffee every time. If you want to buy their beans to take home they will grind them to your requirements and happily talk to you about the varieties. And cheaper than Costa.
B. L.
They make top notch coffee and sell a great selection of different beans. Really like the 125g bags as it's easier to finish them before they start going stale, and it allows one to try lots of different varieties. Only suggestion would be that a few more pastries might not go amiss!
Y. M.
Best selection of direct trade coffee in Oxford (we buy 1kg of beans). Also sells nice pastries and baguette.
C. V.
Lovely staff and probably the best place to buy coffee in Oxford. We always get our whole bean coffee there. The staff seems quite knowledgeable about their products and is happy to help you choose the right flavours.
A. G.
Great coffee shop, very good coffee and great staff.
T. N.
Best coffee shop that I have been to. Not only great coffee but good customer and employee care. Just be there to experience it
a. h.
££/£££ moderately expensive
Limited outside seating area, staff are nice
Can buy coffee in bulk here
C. D.
Really interested and knowledgeable staff who will talk you through the beans, taste and processing methods. Spacious and pleasant place to spend time. Best of all, excellent coffee, and awesome to see the beans being roasted.
H. L.
Best coffee in town, real espresso drinks
L. Y.
Great coffee, friendly staff, served with a smile and no judgement for your admittedly basic order
A. F.
I think it's the best coffee in Oxford. Large variety of different origin and tastes of beans and a very professional attitude. Short opening times though.
J. B.
A great place if you are near Magdalen Street. A bit off the beaten track but this is where the coffee gets roasted and there is a huge great quality choice! Small, but a really relaxed place.
S. N.
The coffee is great, though I was disappointed that their cold brew is just some bottled stuff that's kinda weak sauce. Wish they would offer a weekly subscription service like Jericho coffee traders does
S. s.
The baked goods are insanely scrumptious and the coffee is sooooo good. Whoever makes the baked goods has magic hands. Love it!
T. B.
Excellent range of freshly roasted coffee beans. Pastries and bread by Gatineau, cakes by Sylvie’s.
