Friendly staff. Located close to the bus stop and shops from Westgate shopping centre. Plenty of space to seat and enjoy a coffee. Plenty or sweet and savoury options. Delicious danish bakery. Prices are are a bit high but quality is excellent. They offer brunch options

Love the place! Love the atmosphere! Love the pastries and smoothies (except the spinach and mango smoothie) If I had one critique- it’ll be the way and manner in which one of the waiters approached us. We were having an Oxford African Students get together- and granted, maybe we were a bit loud! She was so impolite in the way she talked to us - I mean, it’s a public space ( wouldn’t want to go into a lot of details) But Ole and Steen gives value for your money, especially if you’re a sweet tooth!

I visited Ole & Steen around Christmas to specifically sample the Mince Pie Festival Bun in collaboration with Meringue Girls. It did not disappoint and was one of the best filled pastries I have eaten - I hope it is back this year! The only drawback was the price BUT it was worth it in my opinion. We also got a cinnamon social to take away which was delicious and one of their classics. The coffee was ok but couldn’t fault their baked goods.

A great cafe ☕shop in the heart of Oxford 🎓 part of a Danish cafe chain. Ideal for families with extra space for push chairs and the necessary toilets facilities. 📍Location: Inside the Westgate Shopping Centre in a very central location of Oxford city. 🍲 Food: There is a nice collection of sandwiches and panini-style snacks and a small variety of main courses including a lovely option of the soup of the day. ☕ Coffee: Average coffe with espresso/cappuccino/americano selection s available. 🍰 Deserts: Heavenly good, go for chocolate twirl and cinnamon social (see photos attached)... Our favourite. 💵 Prices: Higher than average.... But quality balances the high cost. 🅿 Parking: There is a parking area in the Westgate shopping centre (-2 level, often very busy), consider park and ride options around the city. 😉 Extra tip: Go for the iced coffee during a sunny day (see photo attached).

Just two words: utterly delicious. We tried the chocolate chip bun, apple pie, and Christmas special bun. And the display at the front of the store was mouthwatering. It was difficult to choose what to eat, because I wanted everything.

Absolutely amazing selection of tasty treats! We stopped in for coffee and couldn't help but pick a few pastries. I would of taken pictures to show how amazing it was but they didn't last long enough! Highly recommend stopping in and sampling what can only be described as a bounty of brilliant bites! 😊 To top it off the staff were very friendly and helpful and the place was very clean! I'd give a sixth star 🌟 if possible!

Best coffee we've had our for ages. Great cakes as well and enjoyed it so much came back in the afternoon for a late lunch that was even better. Ham and cheese toastie and beef roll, both with loads of flavour. Really friendly staff and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Nice place with plenty of seating, both upstairs and downstairs, making it a nice place to study with a drink and something to eat. The coffee is nice and there is a great selection of fresh cakes, pastries and bakery goods. Their signature cinammon social slice is a must-try.

Visited for 2nd time as 1st time wasn't impressed. Don't understand why there is no drinks menu? Visited for 2 takeout drinks , wanted a mocha but wanted to double check it was gf as my son is colieac so the girl did check the chocolate powder was gf but then proceeded to ask would you like a pastry with that!!!!??? Sorry but we had this the 1st time , more staff training needed around gluten free as people think its a fad and not taking it serious . Also the manager was at the till whinging to the girl on the till about her poorly arm so all the cafe could hear , the last time we went in she stood out, extremely unprofessional! Won't be returning !

Being a Danish bakery, they have one of the best crossiants one can have in the UK. They are a bit pricey (like £30 for a decent breakfast) but have a lot of bakery item choices. I have visited their Canary Wharf and Oxford branches many times and both were very good. Oxford Ole and Steen has a seating upstairs too.

Ole and Steen is one of my favourite place in oxford, where you can have a lovely coffe, and enjoy every moment of it! The atmosphere is great and relaxing, with a great design, plenty of space! They have great products, from croissants to brioche, muffins , sandwiches, salads , but they best point is the bread! One of the best in town,!

Great to have this in Oxford having been to the Strand outlet and the one in Westfield. One of the entrances was not pram friendly and we saw a few people struggle to get in with prams. Other than that it's good!

Been today and was amazing. My favourite coffee chain. More are needed as this is the only Ole and Steen outside of London. The one at Westfield London is amazing too. Had the truffle cheese and mushroom toastie and chocolate swirl pastry. Both absolutely gorgeous. Food is top notch. Mum says coffee is best ever tasted. Especially for doing decaf in all coffee. Shop is very modern and fresh and classy. Very airy and great service. Sanitiser pumps everywhere. Wish I could get to oxford more often to visit. Who would go to Costa (albeit great) when you have this on offer.

Ole and steen is a nice cafe. Baked goods are fresh and airy, coffee is cozy. The only flaw is that the cafe is short staffed. I am a regular and I always see the staff struggling. The service is great and the staff is warm and polite but I feel bad for them as they work really hard. I don’t think if they are able to take breaks. I would request ole and steen to pay attention to the well being of their staff.

I popped in to this new bakery/cafe on a busy Saturday morning. The food all looked and tasted delicious. We only purchased one pastry but we plan to go back for breakfast or lunch soon. Considering how busy it was, the staff were really excellent, provided a great service and made us feel really welcome.

Excellent Danish bakery serving bread, parties, sandwiches, and cakes. They have a large selection of Danish classic pastries, plus they also serve sandwiches, and some hot food. The cinnamon roll, chocolate swirl, passion fruit cheesecake, and apple pie were all excellent. Particularly the cheesecake which was light and not overly tart which some passion fruit cakes can be. It's a little expensive for certain items but I can't fault the quality. The staff were a little clueless when I asked about one of the cakes but apart from that I highly recommend it.

We visited for breakfast/coffee. Pastries were delicious and coffee was lovely. We arrived at 11:03 and asked for some porridge. Their website says they serve porridge until 11:30 but they told us that their in-store menu says they only serve it until 11, which was a bit frustrating. Otherwise it was great.

The queue for ordering was really long as there were not enough staff at the cashier. The cappuccino I had was one of the worst I've ever had as it was mostly frothed milk only. However, on the bright side, the cinnamon social slice was delicious.

Chestnut mushroom and Gouda toastie was very very good. It was in a kind of flatbread sourdough, very moist and chewy. Generously portioned too. Poppy seed and almond pastry was nice, and a quality flat white. I will absolutely be returning to rate all other food items. Big recommendation. UPDATED: I decided to downgrade this review. Subsequent visits have been consistently disappointing. The staff are dour and unwelcoming. On one occasion I was met with a silent raise of the eyebrows to indicate that the person was ready to take my order! The tables are almost always not cleared of the last visitor's plates and crockery. They also are too accomodating to patrons sitting alone, with a laptop, on a table for 2,3,4 people, nursing an empty coffee cup for 30 minutes or more. I love the food so much, but I resent the poor, disinterested service, especially with the prices being charged. I won't be returning until it improves :(
