The coffee and cake were tasty, and it was a relaxed atmosphere in the coffee shop with quiet covers of various hit songs in different styles. Let down by the fact that there are no toilet facilities despite having enough seating to require it to have them for customers.
Coffee served in disposable paper cups even if drinking on site which is a bit disappointing.
Might pop back for coffee to go, but will probably stick with workhouse or Lincoln in future.

Coffee was okay. They have pastries, vake and tarts as well but I don't think they serve their full food menu anymore.

Great Greek coffee and Greek mpougatsa. The atmosphere was nice and cozy and the staff very friendly. Highly recommend it.
S. B.
A lovely cafe with really great coffee and friendly service. Recommended for those who are after top quality coffee.

Coffee was good, cake/pastry was ok. Only serving in takeaway cups even when you are not actually ordering takeaway is a massive deal breaker for me. Sorry, but unless you are starting to use actual mugs, plates and cutlery we won't be back 🤷🏼♀️

Love this place. They make great coffee and have an interesting variety of tasty breakfasts that they present with such care and attention to detail. The staff is super friendly, much nicer than at the one close to St Mary's.

Very delicious, best gluten free cake I've had in quite some time (one of a selection I might add), not to mention gorgeous coffee. The servers, and atmosphere overall, were very warm and friendly. It was a little pricey, bit we definitely plan to visit again.

Popped in for a takeaway latte which turned out to be the best idea I've had all week. Tastes like the memory of what you thought coffee should be when you were a kid.
H. B.
Had a lovely latte - the milk was steamed perfectly, rather than the boiling hot thin milk you get in the chains.
Also bought a bag of coffee - I'd have given 5 stars if the beans were a bit more freshly roasted, most were already a month or so old.

A sneaky little spot tucked away in the shadow of The Museum of Reading, but a well decorated, minimalist coffee house reminiscent of French cafes dotted in the narrow streets of Cannes. Great coffee, and a reasonable price for a strong, full bodied drink (less than £3 for a latte, can't go wrong). My new favourite spot.

Not as good as the Broad Street Mall or St Mary's Butts branches. Our server seemed to know nothing about the coffee he was selling. We also had to ask for a glass of water, which is brought with the coffee at the other branches. I think that this branch is more for office staff in a hurry, rather than for those who love the whole coffee vibe experience!

No toilets, ok-ish coffee, cold pies served in paper bags
M. B.
Great coffee and great cakes. A nice quiet hidden gem. Would highly recommend.

The apple does not fall far from the tree! Bringing the successful model from its older sibling - great coffee, very friendly service and traditional pastries. I think they could notch up the cossyness in this store /books maybe.

I can't recommend this little coffee shop enough! It's surrounded by big chains of coffee shops (like starbucks, cafe nero and Pret), and also big-chain food and drink places like Oneils and many other pubs. But the coffee and drinks taste far better than any of these. It's greek-owned and probably originally a greek idea, and the greeks know how to do good coffee and refreshments in general. There are always really friendly people serving, and you can sit indoors or outdoors looking across at Reading Town Hall, which is really nice architecture so isn't like looking at a high rise building!
They always have lovely greek food to buy there too, which is pastries filled with spinach and feta etc. Whenever you get a drink with chocolate in it, you can choose from three different types, and there is always the option for dairy milk alternatives. The smoothies are gorgeous. Has a much more relaxed feel than any other shops in the area, probably because of the management!!
Please go and support, but not for the sake of supporting, but because it really is much better than anything else in the area.

Love the espresso cappuccino, mochas and custard pies! Friendly staff and cool modern decor.

Great coffee shop with a great pain au chocolat - recommend!
K. L.
Just nice coffee and pastries. convenient location, too.
P. J.
Good coffee. And not overly hipster
J. S.
Amazing allergy friendly, homemade cakes and bread! Tasty coffee with great milk alternatives and a really nice space to sit.
Served by a lovely lady who made the cakes herself!
Highly recommend this gorgeous little cafe ❤️

Great atmosphere, friendly staff who are knowledgeable about the products they offer, created and delivered with passion by people who are genuine about their interest in cafe culture, drinks were perfect, great balance of flavour, texture and presentation, the best coffee shop in Reading, and the best coffee I have ever drank, will be a regular stop for me from now on.

I go there often. It's small and minimalist but that's why I like it. The coffee is the best in Reading. There is a small selection of great cooked food and cakes and breakfast is a must. Staff are polite and welcoming. Take no notice of negative reviews about atmosphere - this is not Cafe Nero or Costa (thank goodness!)

Had a flat white and absolutely loved it!
Good coffee and great relaxing vibe. One of the best artisan coffee places in Reading.
A. P.
Quality is the key word.
Went there for a family visit on December, and we were so sad not to have more time to spend there.
Coffee was excellent, both espresso and filter, and it's wonderful to find someone that take his time weight coffee and measure water temperature to do everything as its best.
The place is warm and elegant, and you can surely spend quality time there.
Try it and you will never leave it.

Fantastic service. A wonderful range of pastries and drinks. The Feta pies are something to put on your wish list as they are amazing. And the quality of the hot chocolates is brilliant. Lattes come with a beautiful rosette on top to finish off the yummy choice of coffee bean 😍 five stars for sure.
N. B.
Beautiful Coffee and great service, such a lovely setting near the church a really lovely place for a sunny lazy afternoon coffee and snack. Lovely Lovely service the staff are always so cheerful and kind. Thank you, I always have a wonderful experience here!
S. Y. N.
I love the white hot chocolate and the coconut and milk cake! The staff is very nice. My sister was not very satisfied with her macchiato and they changed it for her. The atmosphere is very good as well with nice and slow music. Very relaxing.
T. R.
I love this place. It’s the second one in town and as good as the first one. The staff is very friendly and the hot chocolate is the best one in the UK. If you like Spanish hot chocolate, you should try the one here. It’s not the same, but similar.
The best part of this shop is that it is bigger.
Z. K.
Pancakes were yum and beautifully decorated but miniscule...
A. M.
Lovely coffee shop in Reading. I had a hot chocolate made out of melted chocolate buttons and we all shared a couple of Bougatsa which is a pie with custard type filling made with filo pastry sprinkled with icing sugar and cinnamon on top and served warm. It was as good as those I have had in Thessaloniki. Thank you.
Z. Z.
Lovely food and great venue. Staff were very helpful and easy to talk to. Very accommodating 😊😊 thank you!! Will go back soon (no idea what the coffee was like as I don't drink it lol)
N. W.
Wonderful coffee (Greek?) and really friendly staff. The atmosphere they create means that it has a very relaxing and continental café feel.
C. B.
Great coffee and bougatsa. Hot coffee take outs would need a holder for the paper cup because it gets too hot to touch.
Ok service, clean place.
s. s.
Small cafe with lovely coffee. Their coffee taste is really good.
S. D.
We only had 2 coffees and some really small snacks, but this seems an excellent place, crisp and clean, friendly and efficient staff, what we had treated excellent (you wood think "a coffee is a coffee" but these were nicer).
So overall a top experience!
L. M.
I've only been here once, but the coffee was just good, not great. In fact, I thought it would be a bit better than it was, given its branding as a high end coffee house for coffee lovers. The Americano was a bit watery and so the coffee flavours didn't come through.
A. B.
Excellent Cappuccino. Friendly staff. Nice window seats for people watching. Very reasonably priced. I would choose a coffee here over one of the national chains any day.

Great coffee and people in a local business 🙂

The sequel to CUP1. Great selection of coffees and loose leaf teas. Menu has been upgraded with a variety of options. Staff passionate and knowledgeable about coffee. Try the iced GinTonic tea! Well done guys.
K. N.
Not much food you can choose in the morning. It's sad 🥲
T. S.
As it follows the trends of the already award winning CUP in St Mary's this shop has excellent coffee many and nice options for eating simplistic environment in a prime location in Reading. What more can you ask for !!?
B.
Went for lunch; coffee and food were both decent, not amazing. But it's a bit more expensive than I was expecting.
Wouldn't go out of my way to avoid eating lunch at C.U.P again, but probably wouldn't go out of my way to go here again either.
G. R.
Simply a very good cafe - great food and coffee, friendly and attentive service and a pleasant environment to while away some time. Strongly recommended.
K. C.
It was so nice to experience a latte that tastes authentic. Rather than the usual high street taste. Look forward to visiting again soon.
M. E.
Glorious coffee, lovely food, great service. No easy access for pushchairs or wheelchairs, though, otherwise it would be 5 stars.
R. H.
Genuinely one of the best cups of African filter coffee I have ever had. The staff were super friendly too.
A. M.
Excellent coffe, exciting food, prime location, great environment, friendly staff! What more can you ask?! If I could give 6 stars, I would for this place!
A. C.
I like it. Nice staff, kinds, and the food is delicious. I have visited it 3 times and always ordered pancakes (they are awesome there)
A. R.
A coffee house like many. Coffee is nice and pastries/cakes are available with good look (no tasting on my behalf so can't comment about it).
k. v.
Lovely small place, flawless customer service, tasteful coffee & bites to eat. I know I've found my favourite spot in Reading.

I usually go to the other CUP by the church but this one is just as great! Love the coffee, easily the best in the city centre
D. A.
Freshly made by owners and served with care local cafes stand out from their chain store rivals glad went here as haven't been to reading for a very long time.

The coffee was good but I was extremely surprised by the fact a cafe serving food and drink doesn't have restrooms for customers... 🤐
