This is definitely the best coffee in Reading and the staff is one of the friendliest we have ever visited in a long time. The experience is amazing especially the tea! As well, if you are a hot chocolate fan, make sure to try it! Highly recommend it!

The smell of the coffee and the pastries are mouthwateringly good. I tried their lattes, and Americanos each hit in the right spot. Their chocolate tahini biscuit is a must try, and you won't regret it. It is one of the best specialty coffee shops in reading.

An independent coffee shop well worth a visit. The food is well presented and delicious. The service is a tad slow so if pushed for time avoid. Nevertheless the quality is well worth it. The selection of blends of both tea and coffee is expansive and the friendly and polite staff are capable of making a range of drinks. Seating is available but limited.

This is my favourite coffee shop in reading and personally the best in the area. The manager Dan is the nicest guy and will always cater to your needs and always help make your coffee and experience to the highest standard!. Nice location with a view of the historic St. Mary's Church in downtown Reading. Close walk to the train station. The coffee was decent, cake was overpriced and too sweet, and the smokers plooms from outside get swiftly swept right into the cafe to the displeasure of all within the cafe.

It's easy to see why C.U.P has come top in nationwide coffee houses when you have a coffee from here. From the outset the small and hidden location gives it a relaxed feel; the inside will hold 28 at full seating capacity, whilst leaving enough room so you are not cramped, and more seating outside with a quiet view of the church. The flat white is intensely full of flavour with absolutely no harsh bitterness, exactly what you want. The sandwiches look great and the quick ready-made offerings look better than you would find at a major chain coffee house. I had a quick sausage roll and unfortunately it was not good, microwaved to warm and the pastry became chewy and soft - I regret my choice on that front, however I didn't come here for the food. 1 star taken off for the food, had I not ordered it, 5 stars would be given.

A nice little gem, its busy and all seats were taken on a Good Friday afternoon. The black americano tasted very nice however the pastries and cake were over priced despite only looking average. There was a mobile coffee shop on the otherside of the catherdal near The Oracle, which had much better coffee drinks in my opinion.

The best coffee place in Reading town centre! Always friendly people in both this and their other shop, always a much more relaxed atmosphere than the big chain brands. This is why you go to independent places instead of Starbucks or Costa! There is much more soul and warmth and it even feels like there is more community. They have lovely pastries and food which you wouldn't find anywhere else, including what i think is a Greek speciality of spinach and feta between pastry.

There is always a great selection of drinks and staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about coffee and they’re more than happy to explain about the different types of drinks in order to establish the best brew to suit your needs. There is also a fantastic variety of teas and hot chocolates on offer. Food is good and fresh. There is seating inside and outside. (not all covered by a parasol) It’s a very relaxing little independent coffee shop in town. It’s also Covid secure, as all staff follow and respect Covid rules.

Had a powerful Captain blend Machiato and a smooth Drake blend Americano. Both were excellent. The feta and spinach pie was a good snack, but quite expensive. The cake selection wasn't massive, but had the usual suspects and the peanut butter shortbread was very good. Service was with a smile, helpful and they even brought some glasses of water over with the main order, which was a nice touch.

A second branch has been opened and if it has the same vibe, attention to detail, high barista standards and customer service it'll be a roaring success. All staff helpful and knowledgeable. Good food but to be honest, for us it was all about the coffee which is excellent.

Best hot chocolate I've probably ever had! This was my first time here but staff were helpful and polite. The coffee my friend had looked amazing and the latte art was impressive. It's cosy but comfortable. The only reason this isn't 5 is that a waitress went in to the toilet several times with her apron on, otherwise a near perfect experience!

I really like the place. It has a nice view, the staff is very kind and helpful. I was not sure what some items were and they kindly told me. They have a variety of teas, as well as dark, milk and white hot chocolate and the usual coffees (iced too). They also have nice cakes and baked goods. You order at the cashier and they bring everything to your table. Very recommendable, especially the teas :)

Its a novel place for a warm beverage and the range of teas and coffees are very decent. Tea came in a vial with a stopper and the service was pretty decent compared to a lot of places and there's nothing bad about this place at all, except I didn't find it a relaxing place to have a tea therefore the 3* review. I would totally recommend this place to any tea/coffee lover to atleast give it a try. Its not a chain (i think) and its different.
