G.No time to play with my food in this cafe! It was impeccable, I ate it instantly. Had a vegetarian breakfast and it was cooked to perfection! The cafe was clean, the staff were lovely and there is parking dedicated to customers. Very happy.

m. l.Boom! The biggest best cooked breakfast I have had for a long time, we stayed at a local hotel who were charging £9.50 for a small breakfast and a further £6 for tea and coffee!!! So we gorged ourselves at the Gorge!

D. N.Ordered vegetarian breakfast was firstly brought over buttered white bread surprised by that - it promptly was replaced with 'buttered' wholemeal. Then breakfast arrived part cold (from the served tomatoes) part warm for the rest of the produce. No choice of herbal teas it's either coffee or tea (the version of soya milk served - curdles in the coffee). It's a no nonsense budget cafe for the area which is reflected in its products and price. It's reasonably clean but smoky from the cooking (could do with a good extractor fan). My clothes still smelled after I'd left the premises and I was sat at the door entrance.

S. B.This cafe has been here all of my life. I get the feeling that the decor hasn't changed much, at least in the past 40 years. It was my go to late breakfast treat when camping down the road during Reading Rock. They now offer espresso based drinks. Although, Mr. Fussy here thinks they need to try a bit harder with their coffees. The latte I had tasted like it was out of a packet and made with boiling water.

G. H.It's a greasy spoon, so don't go in expecting Michelin star dining and you won't be disappointed. In fact, you'll be very pleasantly surprised at how good the food is. Good quality ingredients (especially the bacon) served quickly by friendly staff - that's pretty much the blueprint for the perfect greasy spoon and this place has all of those things. It's not cheap though.
K. z.We have been eating breakfast here virtually every Saturday for the last four years. We get a first rate breakfast, huge portion size,, cooked and served with a friendly demeanor. The staff are really welcoming and great fun too. We see a lot of the same customers every week, which speaks volumes. Highly recommended.

G. E.Great Value for money, the service is very fast. It can be very busy but so far I have always managed to get a table. My kids love going there for breakfast after a swim at rivermead. The menu is classic English cafe breakfast fry up. They do do proper espresso coffee. Cheep and cheerful

Tables are very small and almost only suitable for children which is kind of odd.
I did notice that they were leaving a lot pre cooked sausages out on the side which definetly should have been in the fridge, this is always a red flag for me. #foodsafety
