Amazing little cafe. There are lots of really good drinks to choose from, from smoothies to coffees to shakes. The food is also really yummy. I went for the vegetarian breakfast and honestly, best mushrooms I've had hands down.

A really yummy breakfast at The Drift-In York. Delicious thick cut sourdough toast with avocado, feta & pomegranate and a very generous portion at that. My son had the Biscoff/ Ice-cream pancakes. Again, generous and delicious and one of the nicest hot chocolates to date! Definitely worth a visit if you’re ever in York! 😋

Stopped here for brunch before exploring York, with my hubby and collie. We were greeted straight away and shown to a table. The waitress gave our dog some cuddles and asked for his name, age, etc. She then asked if she could take his picture for their "doggy wall of fame", which we seen on our way in and, of course, accepted. Their menu if really good; several options to drink and a wide variety of yummy sounding food! I order the french toast with bacon and my hubby went for the sausage sandwich - which was huge! The food was delish! Our only small gripe was the sandwich bread to sausage ratio was a bit questionable - huge thick sourdough bread with two thin sausages between the slices? Apart from that, we were really pleased we stopped by as the service was great, the food tasted amazing and they were so dog friendly!

A great place for breakfast! We called in twice! Inside is spacious with a modern/rustic feel. The food is eye catching and tastes really fresh. We tried the topped toast and pancakes. If I were to go back I'd love to try the homemade beans and French toast as both looked amazing as they past our table.

Cool place to get a really nice coffee and some good food. Great veggie options. A little sad that my toastie came with ready salted crisps as I anticipated (just personal preference) but some things never change. Still a great experience overall! Be prepared to queue for a little at busy times.

Nice big dog friendly cafe in the centre of York. Only came in for drinks but got a good amount of tea for 1 and a very nice strawberry milkshake. Lots of hot drink options, juices, smoothies etc. and the cakes looked lovely from the cabinet. Friendly staff and also noticed a children's corner and good toilet facilities.

I've been here multiple times before I mostly love the food and the wide range of options. It's great for vegans too. I love that dogs are allowed in (very well welcomed infact) and the staff were great! However the toilets were not as good. The toilets smelled quite bad and it was very dirty and unpleasant. I also personally didn't like my pancake as it was a bit crusty. However I do like this place and will return with my dog again :)

Really cute cafe in the centre of York. We came for a bit of lunch. Really generous portions and the sandwiches were lovely. A little on the expensive side but I'd say worth it for the quality and portion size. Loved all the Polaroids of the dogs on the wall!

Can only review the take out coffee - a very good flat white! Reasonable prices for a city full of cafes. Drift-In has a great atmosphere with an adjoining door to the shop next door. I now wish we had chosen here for breakfast & not just a stop off drink. The place was always busy when we walked by to our nearby hotel. I enjoyed the small addition of dog photos scattered around the café, predominantly next to where you stand & wait for your hot drinks! Really makes the wait a lot shorter - although it wasn't any longer than a regular hot drink wait. Great little place in the heart of York!

Very cute cafe and lots of breakfast options from full English to pancakes and French toast. Staff were very nice too. Prices were decent to be honest and food was really nice. We had the drift in breakfast, the baked beans were interesting, quite sweet and oniony but the halloumi was gorgeous. Plus they have a really cute wall of Polaroids of doggy visitors!

It’s one of my favourite places to have breakfast. The latte was one of the most tastiest I’ve ever had and whilst the menu seems to have changed since I was here last, it did not disappoint. The herby mushroom toast with poached egg and halloumi filled me up for a busy day ahead- worth the money. Staff were really nice as well (you have to order at the counter if you are sitting in to eat as an FYI)

This place is an utter delight and has such an oddly cosy vibe with ridiculously tall ceilings and beautiful windows (the setting is a definite win). The coffee is always good, and the range of food options is perfect for a light bite or a more hearty lunch (I personally love their pancakes with lemon and sugar which you can get for less than £3). What's more is students and those working for the NHS get 10% off there order (to have in or takeaway). 100% recommend.

We love this restaurant when we are in York. The food is great. This morning we were waiting outside for it to open and the waitress unlocked the door and walked away without opening it or welcoming us. It was a quite shocking to see this in a restaurant. She continued to be unpleasant to us and to some other customers. As a business owner I felt it should be remarked upon.

Was in York for 2 days, both days we ended up here for breakfast. You must try it, the juice is fresh, the eggs are soooo well cooked (poached and fried) the toast is perfect and the coffee is dark and like nectar. The pancakes are really excellent and the French toast has to be tried with egg bacon and maple syrup😋😋😋😋 The actual café/coffee shop is a really pleasant space, clean and tidy and really well turned out. The decor is clever if you look around and spot the transformation. Sorry i have no photos, i was to busy eating and watching the world. They love dogs btw.

Cannot stop going back to this place! Ever since it opened I have been a regular. It's great for students as they provide space to do uni work and 10% discount, and a great place to catch up with friends and family. They've recently refurbished and now serve food; it's delicious! (and very aesthetically pleasing for those who love to take photos for the gram). The staff have always been friendly and cater to all allergy needs. Can't recommend the place enough.

Love this place bit they need to cater more for non veggies. I don't like vegetable oil in baking (tastes rank compared to butter and isn't great for arteries as hard fats are more temperature stable than liquid veggie fats). Really lush salads though and lovely drinks.

We had a great breakfast here today, all food that came to the table tasted great, the poached eggs were perfectly cooked, the bacon miles above any supermarket bacon and the lattes were hot. The servers were polite, prompt and well presented. Toilets are available for customers. Loved the pictures of all the customers dogs.

I hardly ever give 5 stars, but sometimes they're just plain deserved. Although busy, the staff were amazingly upbeat, courteous and helpful. The super salads are fantastic, packed with flavour and topped with halloumi, chicken, bacon and soft ripe avocado. The warm flat bread and sour cream dip are a nice accompaniment. We also went for the freshly made fruit smoothies which are filling and refreshing. On top of this the food is delivered quickly and the place is very dog friendly, boasting a wall of fame of theIr four legged customers. Well done.

Good and friendly service and decently spaced tables although this does mean limited capacity. Sandwiches are really tasty and well filled and the sides are good. Great coffee shop in a nice central location of York. You can expect great quality coffee for fair prices and a nice cute atmosphere. If anything they could use some more individual seating but it's not too big a problem. Definitely a new favorite.

Really nice little cafe on the corner. They have a range of amazing and delicious choices of sweet options along with tasty sandwiches. The staff are very friendly and at one point happily suggesting to customers different options they can do for them. Unfortunately the only thing I had issue with was the very rude customers who couldn't understand a queuing system. But apart from that I'd love to go back and sit inside as the decor is brilliant

What s find! We had just come into York, the rain was driving and we were desperate for a coffee and second breakfast when we came across Drift in and drift in we did. The staff made us immediately welcome, bringing over some water and treats for the dog and we dried out with some great coffee and a hot sandwich. It is connected to a clothes shop, so you could have a browse around knowing that everyone was comfortable. Very cool decor too, with old motorbikes and surfboards adorning the stripped back walls and floors with some of the old plaster work in place, showing a glimpse of the former splendor. Well worth a visit!

Incredible salads. Popped in for a refuel today after a busy morning shopping, ordered a zinger juice each and 2 halloumi salads and the chicken, bacon and avocado... The juices were perfect and the salads were exceptional. The addition of the roquito pearl peppers alongside the extremely generous portion of well mixed salad was a taste sensation. Very friendly staff and very accommodating for allergens. Please open a branch in Birmingham.
