Cute little cafe and shop for brunch. The fresh Ciabatta bread was delicious. Also where has the dirty chai latte been all my life? New favourite hot drink for sure

Small independent coffee shop (& take away) with just 4 tables. Hubbie had a double espresso. I had a latte with oat milk, which came in a smaller than average latte cup despite the price. Coffee was OK, not strong. Toilets are upstairs. Interesting selection of dressings, sauces, pickles to purchase. My reply to Manetti's (below) : Thank you for your reply. I didn't order a flat white, I ordered an oat latte. I never drink flat whites so I would never order one. If this is what you gave me then the nice young chap who took our order made a mistake, but still charged us for an oat latte. We normally go to Cafe Nero where they give 2 shots of coffee. You can taste their coffee in their oat lattes. However, we thought we'd try Manetti's as we try to support local independents. To reiterate, there was nothing wrong with our whole experience at Manetti's, we both didn't feel the coffee was that strong to our taste. We wish you good luck with your independent business.

As well as great coffee and food, this little gem also stocks a great range of products. Oils, vinegars, sauces, pastas....I bought some basil olive oil today and spotted that they have my favourite spicy Italian sauce too. Great if you want to treat yourself or someone else to some quality Italian (or Yorkshire!) goodies. Staff friendly amd welcoming, even when it is busy.

I stopped in for a coffee, left with extra. Such an amazing little cafe, great selection of local goods and great food options. I will be stopping in regularly from now on.

Burr is without a doubt among the best cafes York has to offer. They use loads of fresh, good quality ingredients, their portion sizes are generous (their prices aren't the cheapest, but you do at least get a decent serving for the money), and their service is generally pretty speedy. They also have a good number of veggie options (their vegetarian scotch egg is so good I had to check they hadn't given me the meat one by mistake) and do one of the best mushroom dishes (MASSIVE mushrooms on sour dough with halloumi and pine nuts) I've ever had. Their cakes and sweet treats are also well worth the cash if you still have room. My only 'complaints' would be that the back of the cafe can be a bit dark sometimes, so it's not quite as cosy or charming as some of the other cafes in town. Also, because the kitchen is only partly separated from the dining area towards the back, it sometimes gets a bit humid in there. Still, this is all just nitpicking, and shouldn't put you off giving this great little place a try.

Nice food but a complete rip-off. Sausage roll £3.95 takeaway, £7.95 eat-in. Eat-in came with a few rocket leaves. Yeah go figure.

Ok. I tried the ham n chorizo hash. It was brilliant. I could not believe that it would be so tasty. We also had coffee , and everyone was happy. The cakes were amazing. Definitely recommend it. Good job guys n girls.

We had a delicious lunch at Mannetti's. I highly recommend the focaccia sandwiches and the coffee is nice too. I've previously had the cakes (which are excellent), but I was too full to try them this time!

Delicious brunch and good coffee + my kids enjoyed it. We stumbled on this place by accident and were delighted by the quality of food and the service. Good breakfast brunch range with everything from poached eggs, smashed avocado on sourdough, bacon sandwich to pancakes with bacon and maple syrup which my kids loved.

Price for the good was great considering that York is very touristy. The taste was even better. The staff are very friendly, the food is well presented and the coffee is also good. Definitely a great place for a bite to eat before going for a walk in the museum gardens.

Visited today for a coffee and a slice of cake. I always prefer independent coffee shops and this place lives up to that, friendly staff, great tasting coffee (if not the best I’ve tasted for a while) and good value. The Victoria Cake was tasty too!

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the food very good- especially the salads. However there was a relatively restricted choice by 2 o'clock (I appreciate just after the lunch rush but this felt a bit early to be running out of things) and my flat white was nice, but the milk was a little too hot so lacked the silkiness. All in all though a nice little, slightly quieter cafe!

Incredibly good coffeeshop. Went there during a winter storm and was instantly greeted by a smile, and followed by a great coffee and really good food. Fully recommended. Seems to be a very much beloved coffeeshop in York. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in the area!

Went there this morning with a friend and her two kids. The food was amazing, I had the pancakes and bacon. The customer service of the two younger women serving was impeccable. The kids caused some mess with their cake and one smashed a plate (and my pancake ended up on the floor, more importantly!), but they were courteous and helpful and genuinely wonderful. The same could not be said for the older woman who told us repeatedly how much mess we had made, even once again when my friend called to ask if we'd left something behind. She was cleaning our table and moving it from beneath us when we were still there. It was a real shame. I would definitely go back for the food and the customer service from some of the staff, but have a peak through the window about who is behind the counter before I go in.
