Let me tell you this is the best coffee around! After a month in Australia I was on the hunt for decent coffee and it is with this place, the cinnamon buns are to die for, and always fresh made cakes available, owners are so lovely and chatty, a real "we care about our customers" vibe! And they really do. Keep doing what you're doing ladies xx

I love this place. Love, love, love. The two folks who run it are really friendly, their coffee is really good and changes occasionally, their cakes though. The cakes are where it's at. They have some they get in from elsewhere like croissants etc from the Haxby bakery but if you're going to S&R don't get those - get their babka buns in the morning if they still have any. They're like sweet bread rolls all twisted up with sugary syrup and they look like they'll be dry but they are so soft and squishy, tearing them apart is delightful. They're vegan too, and they have a huge range of vegan cakes, muffins, etc. They do sandwiches but I've not tried those because cake!

Such a gem of a coffee shop! I lived just a stones throw away and came by several times a week. Delicious coffee and the two owners are incredibly nice. I was so sad when I moved away and I still miss the shop now :) Will be back!

Oh, my goodness; what fare! The vegan cinnamon buns are wonderful. Biscoff rocky roads, and peanut butter with raspberry jam brownies rate very highly, too. Lovely, friendly service.

Such a beautiful and quirky café! Alot of thought, love and care has clearly gone into the inside decor and the window display. The cakes look (and are!!) incredibly tasty and the coffee is one of the best in town. Served by really friendly staff who are clearly loved by their community. Have recommended this to many a friend x

Everything seems to homemade. Lovely cakes and scones plus lots of people queuing for coffee so I assume that's good too (I'm allergic!). Happy and helpful staff. Perfect local business.

The perfect recipe - an amazing window display of delicious treats, with the best coffee on Bishopthorpe Road and a brilliant team who are ever so welcoming! Currently serving via a hatch for social distancing, this coffee house truly has been our favourite destination during lockdown and will be for many months to come. Highly recommended!

Best coffee on Bishopthorpe road by a country mile! Up their as one of the best coffee houses in York too. There’s delicious homemade cakes, great food, friendly atmosphere. Emma and Val who run it always have time for you. I implore everybody to support this place! It’s what independent, local coffee shops/cafes are all about.

Best hot chocolate on Bishopthorpe Road. Small, cosy, comfortable and quiet café. I don't feel like eyes are on me to move on quickly in here unlike elsewhere! The owners are lovely and make some great cakes... not to mention the cinnamon toast. Yum!

NOTE: Currently closed as new owners take over. Rumour is that it will reopen on July 10, 2017. This is the go to place for coffee on Bishopthorpe Road! The outdoor seating with blankets for the cooler temperatures is a nice touch. They also offer coffee themed cocktails on Friday nights, but haven't tried that yet.
