W.Exemplary service from start to finish, Gregor could not do enough to help and was thorough in the examination of a faulty component, culminating in him not only sourcing and replacing the part, but also recommending a thorough check of the PC to determine further issues, which revealed a faulty piece which had caused the initial component to fail.
At all points Gregor was upfront, communicative, and easily reached. Invoicing was handled with absolute transparency and no hidden costs - as well as being well priced in his service and cost estimation. The service provided was above what I expected, going as far as diagnosing after-issues with the PC, cleaning and tidying, and re-seating components to ensure their fit.
Lastly, Gregor is to be commended for his attitude, helpfulness, and knowledge on topic. He was able to detail every part of the problem - as well as offering to pickup and deliver the PC. At delivery Gregor allowed a pickup of the item well after close of business hours - eating well into his own time out of business.

T. A.I had an issue with my PC but I was unable to diagnose the problem. It wouldn’t start up and sometimes wouldn’t show up on my monitor at all.
Gregor visited my home in Motherwell and let me know the issues at hand and what he’ll do to fix it. I’d actually asked if I could get some additional parts upgraded, and told him I had a budget of £500!) but Gregor assured me that it wasn’t necessary at all as the PC (2 years old) works perfectly well except for the few parts that needed replaced.
Gregor gave me options to confirm I was happy with the parts and communicated the whole way through. He changed the case for me as I wanted to go with a white theme and insisted on one, which he let me choose. All parts were cost effective. Although the case change was a personal insistence, I was given no extra charge apart from the initial cost of the repair and the price of the parts being used
M.My laptop was slow at times and would overheat quite easily. Gregor came and picked it up a few days after getting a quote from him. In 2 days he cleaned my laptop of all the dust and changed the thermal paste and now my laptop is running smooth af. No noise, no overheating and it might be me but it seems faster too. Thanks, Gregor.

I was so sure that my laptop was nearing the end of its life because of how badly the casing was falling apart but Gregor assured me that it was salvageable and talked me through the whole process on the phone. He dedicated a huge chunk of his time to talk me over the repair and was extremely transparent with me whilst he was ordering a replacement casing for my laptop and made sure that I was okay with minor cosmetic marks that would come with a used case. I am so extremely pleased!
My laptop was repaired by Nick who was extremely polite and very good with communicating when the laptop was finished and accommodated pick up and drop off around my busy schedule. On top of replacing the badly damaged casing, I had some issues with my WiFi connectivity and Nick replaced that too. 5/5 service and I will not hesitate to go back when I have any more issues.

K. M.I cannot recommend GY Computing highly enough! I thought that my computer was absolutely done and that it - along with all of my precious files and data - was irrecoverable. I called GY computing (seeing that the company was already incredibly highly recommended) in a panic and Gregor (the owner of the company) calmed and reassured me which was wonderful. After explaining what the issue was, he came out to my flat the next day and got right to work on my laptop. He was able to diagnose the issue very quickly and he took my laptop away and worked through the night to recover my data: as my hard drive was in a pretty critical condition. He kept in great contact with me throughout, reassuring me and giving me updates. With a lot of hard work he was able to save ALL of my files. He was so transparent and honest with me about every step of the process and recommended new parts (hard drive & RAM etc) based on quality and value for money (he is very knowledgeable about what is good and what isn't!), and he showed me any parts he was purchasing and their prices before he bought anything and made sure I was happy and comfortable with the selections. My computer was fixed in less than 48 hours and when I came to pick it up, it was all ready to go and he gave me a little run down on what was new - he very kindly replaced my cooling paste free of charge, and to the best brand on the market too! Most importantly, he handed me my old hard drive back and insisted I destroy it myself (he cares a lot about data protection and ethics and it really shows). Gregor was so helpful, kind, reassuring and professional throughout. He did what I thought was impossible, I'm forever grateful to him, and if I or anyone I know has issues with their computers, GY Computing will be the first point of call!

Gregor replied to my online query within a couple of hours, and came out to my home to fix my laptop within 4 days. Recently purchased components for a high end pc, but upon building the computer i couldn't get the PC to turn on at all.
I contacted gregor to see if he could figure out what went wrong.
He was quick and professional with contacting me and troubleshooting the issue.
When he assessed that i had put the pc together properly, he asked if he could take the pc away to troubleshoot it at his workstation.
I was obviously nervous giving away my high end PC away to someone, but I got a good first impression from Gregor and i'm glad that he proved me right.
Gregor worked out that not only had my CPU been damaged, but the power supply that i purchased was faulty.
Gregor ordered in a new power supply for me and once my replacement CPU arrived, he put the system back together from scratch (something i did not ask him to do, but he went ahead and did anyway with my permission) and then did some quality of life improvements such as re-mounting my cpu cooler to improve airflow and improving my cable management so that cables weren't in the way of my components and the PC looked more aesthetically pleasing.
If you need your pc checked, or even repaired i'd recommend Gregor to everyone, really great guy that went above and beyond what i'd originally asked him to do in my quote for no extra charge, he was just happy to help.
Thanks to Gregor, my PC is in great shape and i'm sure it will last me a long time.
G. M.Quick, easy and hassle-free service from Gregor. Came over to mine and replaced the battery quickly but then waited to ensure he was happy the battery was charging/operating normally. He also removed a lot of dust from my fan and motherboard as well as topped up the thermal compounds on the cooling mechanisms!
M. C.Can't recommend Gregor enough. My laptop died on me suddenly and I use this for working from home as this is more convenient for me with childcare drop off and pick up nowadays. The panic set in and I contacted Gregor, he came over the next evening and fixed it within 40 minutes with a brand new hard drive. Excellent service - would definitely use again!
D. D.Had Gregor come over to look at 3 of my Lenovo computers. Gregor came out at a time that suited me and worked extremely hard to get the job done to an extremely high standard! He was extremely personable, reliable, and offered lots of great advice. All the work was done at an exceptionally good price. I was so impressed with this young man that I decided to get him to carry out more work for me.
The original problem I had was that my Lenovo T61 series was not charging, the fan was making a horrible rattling sound, and the hard drive was broken. Gregor went above and beyond, quickly identifying all 3 problems, and then ordering the parts. He kept in touch at all times, and came back around one evening with a totally brand new computer!! You could never tell the computer had been opened and the new hard drive (an SSD) is working miracles!
I also got Gregor to look at my son's laptop which had Windows Vista on it. He upgraded the memory to 4GB for me, and then installed a new hard drive, with Windows 10 on it. Again, the computer is working like new!! He came out around 7pm that evening, and stayed late to make sure the laptop was working okay! I think there is very few people who would work as late as Gregor - I found this extremely beneficial as I am working and have limited availability.
I run a business, and I needed my gmail to sync correctly across all my devices. This was no problem for Gregor who completed this job on the same night he upgraded my son's laptop. He identified the sync settings with gmail were not working correctly, and there was a problem with the IMAP server which he sorted out.
Thank you so much Gregor for everything. One of the niciest young men I've ever met, and a real pleasure to do business with. Gregor's business model is clearly designed to put customers first, and deliver a high standard - something I cannot say I've found with other computer companies. If you have any problems, please make sure you get in touch with him as you will not be disappointed. I cannot recommend Gregor highly enough, and I am extremely grateful for the many hours of work he put in for me. He is clearly top of his game, and extremely down to earth character. I then got the replacement plugged it all in and it still didn't work (which it turns out was entirely my fault). A. H.Look nowhere else but this place only! Booked an hour consultation with Gregor to discuss what parts i needed for my first PC according to my budget of £2000 and got them ordered. A soon as all my parts came, i got Gregor to build it for me including cable management, BIOS setup, installation of drivers and software's that control the components in the PC and monitor setup optimization all in the comfort of my home. Gregor advised me on requirements, and discouraged me from spending money on things I didn't need. He then built and delivered a bespoke computer system. The PC that Gregor built me is brilliant - super-fast, very quiet and with plenty of data storage. It was an expensive system but very good value compared with buying elsewhere. It's also very sleek and stylish!

He came out the same day I contacted him to pick up the PC, and within the weekend, he'd resolved the problem plus picked up on another problem the PC had and offered us two very reasonably priced options that would fix that issue (which was with the hard drive). A day later, he had that PC back to us fixed and ready to go. Excellent!

As a student without a car I have a lot of trouble moving large devices on my own so that service was exactly what I was looking for. After taking a look at my old computer, we decided a new build would be better and then Gregor helped me decide on parts with informative recommendations and communications. Even when a seller sent me the wrong case, Gregor took it to himself to organize getting a new case and have it ready the next day for my new PC.

S. K.PC gave up the ghost one night and I wasn't sure what exactly had died, had a brief look online and found GY. Sent an email the same night requesting if they could give me a callback for a quote/set up an appointment to come have a look.
A day or so later (when I had scheduled the appointment) Gregor came by and after about 15 minutes of testing the components had sussed out the motherboard and PSU were shot.
He advised me on best options for replacement, ordered the necessary parts while there and came back a few days later when they had arrived to install them for me. Aside from the good price and quick service he also tidied up the (admittedly abysmal) cable management and made sure everything was up and running before he went off.

I had an old mechanical hard drive that has not worked for years. But as I'm moving home, I thought it would be a good opportunity to try to recover the data.
Gregor contacted me (on the weekend) shortly after I sent him a message through his site and he arranged to attend to have a look at the drive. He spent approx. 2 hours trying to work on it, and eventually we decided he would take the drive with him to spend more time on it.
Gregor has had the drive for the past week and has given me daily updates on progress. The drive was wrecked, but Gregor still managed to recover many of my priority items from it - photographs from past family holidays and photos from when my son was younger.
Gregor spent lots of time and effort trying to recover the data, yet when it came to charging he charged me his set rate.

I had complained about the computer being slow, so he recommended a Sandisk solid state drive which he felt would be ideal for my needs. At a cost of £25 I couldn't complain! Gregor came along 2 days later and fitted the part for me.

S. M.I'd had my laptop 'repaired' in February by a local shop who replaced a damaged screen with an inferior quality one and charged me through the nose. I decided to contact Gregor in the middle of a global pandemic as the screen was becoming faulty again as it was not properly repaired in the first instance and he responded in a matter of hours. I contacted Gregor and arrangements were made for me to drop it off on 29 December. Gregor was extremely helpful and during subsequent calls he kept me up-to-date re progress as he was waiting for parts. He very helpfully arranged for me to pick up the computer on 7 Jan from his workspace at Euro central at 8.30 pm on a freezing cold night and he had very kindly upgraded the SSD for no extra cost. r. w.I phoned GY Computing to ask for advice / support about the technical crisis I was having. My laptop had fallen victim to an inconvenient accident (a heavy standard lamp with a glass shade got knocked over and fell on top of it!) which had caused damage to the outer casing and screenland it was completely unusable. My call was answered promptly by Gregor who listened, took details. and with my permission arranged a home visit appointment for later the same day to assess the damage. Gregor carried out thorough checks on my laptop and talked me through exactly what he was doing which was really helpful as I no nothing about I.T. Fortunately I only needed a new screen which Gregor ordered there and then .He had brought a spare monitor which he connected it to my laptop so that I could still use till the new screen arrived which was a Godsend, as I had urgent work to complete. I had mentioned to Gregor that my laptop was noisy and running slow and he explained that this could be improved by installing a a better hard drive and so I decided to have this done as well. NB no sales pitch or jargon just good honest passing on of knowledge. On return, Gregor fitted the new screen and hard drive and tested the laptop to make sure everything was working properly which it was, and much better than before, as the irritating noise had gone, and the laptop was running much faster. Gregor was polite and friendly and professional throughout and demonstrated a good work ethic. L. G.Fantastic Service from Gregor. The temperature of my CPU has been around 65-85 degrees for as long as I can remember and as a result my fan was really noisy. Gregor took his time to take apart my custom laptop to determine the source of the heat which was caused by quite a few things. Gregor took this is in stride and was not phase when he noticed a few potential issues but instead focused on finding a pragmatic solution - which he did. My CPU is now running at 32 degrees and my laptop is quiet! Also worth noting that Gregor has a fantastic manner and made the whole process easy. Highly recommended!

He knew exactly what he was doing, he added RAM for me, thoroughly cleaned out a very, very dusty computer, reducing the inner temperature by around 30degrees. I have no hesitation in recommending GY Computing! The level of service, the ability to contact Gregor, and the level of expertise are all attributes of this company! My PC problem was, complex, or at least that's the way it looked to me, it had been an ongoing problem for over a year, and given the amount of "EXPERTS" (and their are many) I had looking into the "problem", and their inability to solve said problem, without even a glimmer of hope, was, depressing and frustrating, and expensive! Looking online for someone to come along and affect a lasting repair, I came across Gregor's website, and was very impressed with the reviews, all of which suggested that I had at last found the 'competent person' who could finally fix my problem, and I wasn't wrong. Gregor arrived, gave the machine a thorough check over, was immediately aware that this problem was indeed "complex", and could be a number of things. Suffice it to say that a mere mortal such as myself, had no idea what he was talking about? It was agreed that he would take the PC away to his lab, or was it Labrador? and carry out a more thorough assessment, and get back to me. About a couple of days later, I received a call from Gregor to say that he was almost certain that the problem lay with my relatively new graphics card, which no one else had even considered. I then contacted the company I had purchased it from, they agreed to replace it, and within a couple of weeks it arrived, was fitted and now my PC is better than ever.

G. H.My laptop was essentially dead to the point of it taking hours to even log in. I called Gregor and he arranged to come around to my house at a time convenient to me when he was available. He quickly diagnosed the problem (hard drive) and then helped me by recommending which make and size of new hard drive to buy based upon my usage and size of memory required.
He helped with the transfer of recoverable data onto a portable hard drive I had and allowed some of his own equipment to be left with me to achieve this. Once the new hard drive arrived, he came back to my home and installed it as well as assisting with the transfer of data from the portable hard drive onto the newly installed one on my laptop. Only at the end of all this process when he was sure that I was satisfied did Gregor then take the agreed fee.
If I ever have a problem again with anything computer-related - hopefully not for a long time now - I wouldn't hesitate to contact Gregor for him to look into it.

No only did he replace the screen (at a fraction of the price quoted from other companies) I also opted to have the hard drive replaced as the laptop was really slow (again due to others quotes I received I was surprised at his price). Turn around was 3 days for picking up my laptop to returning it. I could have had it back sooner, however, I had work commitment and day 3 was the first I was available for delivery. Gregor kept upto date via text message on the progress he had made and cash was only exchanged (on his insistence) once I had tried the laptop out. I am delighted with the work he undertook, screen fixed and performance so much quicker. I have already passed his details onto colleagues and would no hesitate to recommend his service.
