A lifesaver. I came in with a last minute emergency laptop repair, which I needed fixed quickly, and CompuDOS made the extra effort to fix it as best as it could be and as fast as possible (just over 24hours). Unlike other places, they also managed to save the mother board instead of telling me to get it replaced which would've been much more expensive. Instead the price they gave me was very fair. Great attitude, great service, will definitely come back if I ever need anything fixed again.

Having taken my laptop to a couple of previous places and neither could or would repair my keyboard, I came here and have now got my laptop back with a new keyboard and everything working once more. I brought over from The Netherlands an Acer Windows 8.1 laptop that I was told by a Student Computer repair service had a corrupted hard drive and was not worth repairing, I have used Compudos previously with great results!! Lo and Behold my laptop and files were all retrieved and they even upgraded the laptop to Windows 10!!! AMAZING!! This is the BEST computer shop in Manchester!! or Amsterdam for that matter!! I wont lie, after handing my Macbook pro, in I was fairly uncertain that it would be as cheap and fast as what was quoted. The price was very reasonable and bossman suggested he could get it done in a day. It seemed too good to be true but I was completely proven wrong. This is the best repair shop experience I have had for any device, it was even faster than he said it would be, it was very reasonably priced (and he didn't charge me for fixing another separate issue discovered) and the job was done very well. My computer runs better now than it did before it was broken. Very pleasantly surprised to say that this is place is class, while in Manchester I won't be going anywhere else.

CompuDos quoted me a price I was really happy with and said they would check in with me first if the costings needed to be adjusted. The final price ended up being as quoted. Literally the best place to get your laptop fixed in Manchester. My laptop had all sorts of problems including faulty charging port to loose charging cable to battery issues. Many thanks to the CompuDOS team for saving my laptop & data! They were really understanding & professional. After I'd told them my issue they asked me a few questions and immediately identified what could've gone wrong. They assured me they'd do their best to repair everything promptly. Their service was extremely quick and I got a quote for the repairs the same day. The next day they even texted as a reminder, that the machine was ready for collection. The price was very reasonable and my laptop was back in perfect working condition. When I checked everything I was pleasantly surprised to find that they'd even installed anti malware software for free. They also fixed an overheating problem which could've caused permanent damage to my graphics card, and that too was free of charge (it usually costs around £40 for this kind of service). Overall, I was extremely pleased with the excellent service provided. The team have the customer’s best interest at heart so I would definitely recommend anyone with computer related problems to take advantage of their expertise. Simply top-tier service. He was friendly, professional, helpful, and treats his customers with a very clear respect. Fast, friendly and good price. I called up because following updates my laptop wouldn't load up, and rebooting, resetting, restoring etc. was not working. I was able to take my laptop up on the same day, have the hard drive fixed/repaired, files backed up and the latest updates installed all on the same day, as they knew I needed my laptop quickly. My laptop is running great, much better than it has done for a long time, even better than before the update issues I had. I was advised that a new hard drive may be needed, but equally advised that rather than spending that money now, see how I get on with the repair, and if a new hard drive is needed, then they will do it at cost price if returned within a month. Great service! I would highly recommend CompuDOS and will definitely be going back there in future if I have any more issues.

I don't usually post many reviews however after my laptop screen broke I needed to find somewhere to fix it quickly as I'm a student. Curry's could not give me a cost as it was £60 to send off the laptop and they weren't sure how much after this (which I thought was overcharging just to send a laptop over to be repaired). Then I found this place! They were very helpful and fixed my laptop in record time as I was expecting a couple of weeks but it was ready for collection the same day and is as good as new! I recommend compuDOS to anybody needing laptop repairs and at a fair price!

They are just great, I brought my laptop in because the LCD of the display were broken. They didn’t have the screen so they ordered it and it arrived really fast, in less than two days they had the screen delivered and replaced. The price is just great even if it’s not a common laptop and therefore need special parts and the staff is really nice and friendly. He told me to not switch on the laptop when the display os broken which is something I’ve done so many times with my previous laptop ( which made it worse and forced me to buy another one). The guy is so helpful and reliable, I really trusted him with my computer. Great place.

Nice guys and they got the job done but not particularly good service. Was orginally quoted £70-90 for a laptop repair, which was very cheap as a couple of parts needed replacing; and told to bring it in. Received a call later informing that due to significant damage to the motherboard they would have to order parts and so the price would be £110-£120. Was told I would be kept updated, but after a week and hearing nothing, chased it up to be told they were still waiting on parts and that it would be fixed or not this week. Another week and no contact led to me chasing it up again to be told that it would be repaired or not by the following day, which turned out to be half true. (it was repaired). When I went to pick it up, I was informed the price had now gone up to £140; as the nice man (genuinely nice guy) laughed as he joked that "NOW it was my laptop again, since he had his money." (also reasonably confident that the laptop had £134 on a sticker on it but this was swiftly removed before the laptop was passed to me) I've worked in retail so I'm familiar with this kind of banter but it felt like a bit of a punch in the kidneys after being misquoted twice. Not to mention the fact that the business literally would have kept a £450 laptop, if I had not had excess funds to cover the increased priced; which is pretty apalling given the level of communication throughout.. Finally, one of the faults was a busted AC port which was apparently due to a problem with the power cable. We were given a replacement power cable, however we did not receive the original back and the replacement cable requires an adapter to work in the uk(one was provided), which causes me a number of concerns. Overall, likely a very useful service for students in the area who have no experience with computers and just want to hand it over and get it back working and have little regard for the cost, however between the lack of communication, the price increasing multiple times with only the first being communicated to us, receiving a different power cable and having the one we provided kept; overall, the service was very disappointing. Would not use again. *Edit* Wife has just informed that in her initial communication with the store she was told the repair would be £45. she stressed at the time that she had finite funds and wanted to make sure she could cover the cost before taking it in. Considering this, the practice is almost predatory...

I recently went in to take my Portable Hard Drive as the inside was damaged. They manage to transfer my data from one PHD to another, they pretty much gave me a brand new PHD with the exact same memory as my old one. They also kindly transferred all my data from my old PHD to the new PHD they gave me. I'm extremely happy with the fix. Nice gentlemen with glasses and excellent service. CompuDos is a small, but professional repair shop ran by knowledgeable and very kind people. I had dropped my MacBook and it cause some damage and needed a data recovery. They did absolutely everything to make sure I was happy leaving the shop with whatever they could recover. They also make it a point not to go through your files which I find quite nice. Every step was extremely professional and they asked me whether I wanted to proceed at each step too. Even if you don't think it can be done, or won't know your budget, I urge you to go in and just ask - they will try to help! Edit: I'd like to note this was also done in less than 72 hours. I had an issue booting my PC, I could get into the BIOS but after that I would receive a black screen. I recently attempted to change the thermal paste on my CPU, I miserably failed as I could not get a boot and noticed the fans unusually exceeding their normal RPM. They were absolutely brilliant. The hinge joint of my lenovo screen broke entirely apart and the screen almost fall off, but they fixed it within a day and didn't charge much. A couple of months later the hinge joint on the other side broke and again the screen almost fall off. They were honest to me and told me that the repair is now very challenging since there was no original hinge joint left in the lenovo screen and so they weren't sure whether this was repairable. However, I left the computer with them and they told me that in case the repair would be too challenging or expensive they would call me. Although it was challenging, they were able to repair it for a very low price and saved my lenovo screen (within 24 hours!!!!). I am absolutely happy that I found this place. They are honest and they have lots of knowledge. And they are absolutely friendly even with clients like me who freak out and panic because of this stupid broken lenovo screen :). I cannot recommend them strongly enough!!!! PS: Whereas, I cannot recommend lenovo laptops at all ;)!
