Brilliant customer service. Fair and very open about prices and answer questions honestly, even if they know its perhaps not what you want to hear. Despite setbacks (none of which were their fault) they kept me up to date date with progress and fundamentally did a brilliant job and even took some preventative measures to reduce the chance of the issue rising again. This was regards to broken hinges on a laptop. Very happy and would definitely use again.

My Laptop Screen was broken and So I first decided to go to my bank because I have gadget insurance with them. However they weren't able to fix it. So I went with Gigafix and they were able to give me reassurance that it will be fixed and a week later, my laptop looked brand new. Pricing was very affordable considering my excess insurance was £150 with my bank and I also pay monthly for my gadget insurance. I have very happy with their service and very customer friendly. If anyone is looking for a place to get their gadgets repaired or looked up. I super recommend Gigafix. I was the same as everyone looking for a place to get my laptop fix and was worried. Now I don't have to worry knowing I can go to Gigafix for help.

I went there to look for a solution to the following problem: I have two phones, one with almost dead battery and I wanted to put its sim card into another phone. However, in the second phone, I couldn't extract the sim card. I thought that my only choice was to replace the battery of the first phone. I went to GigaFix in Oxford. The company could have pointed me to this direction, which would be more profitable for them, but instead he helped me extract the sim card from the second phone since this was the easiest way for me to solve the issue. It worked and they did not ask me anything to pay for that service. I am really impressed by their honesty and professionalism, so I wanted to share it with all you guys how nice is their customer service. Please do not hesitate to go there if you have any phone issues, you will for sure get the best advice!

They were upfront about how much it would all take and also consistently informed me about risks and costs. My old laptop was becoming very slow. Andy gave me excellent and honest advice about it and quickly replaced the old hard-drive with a new solid-state hard-drive. He was very clear about pricing options throughout the process. A few months later I had another problem with my laptop. At first, the technique Andy tried didn't work, but rather than giving up he went to great lengths to get it up and running again, consulting me throughout. It's working again now! I contacted GigaFix after my laptop screen had been flickering violently, and the manufacturer had attempted to charge me a huge amount of money to fix it. Andrew was incredibly helpful and talked me through the possible causes of the problem. He was honest and upfront about the likely outcomes, and was not at all condescending (a problem I have had in other places!). We weren't able to fix the issue the first time around but he had told me this may be a possibility and we got it right the second time. Still very fast! Price was very reasonable too - less than half of what I was quoted by the manufacturer. Could not recommend enough!

Sadly the HP Laptop could not be repaired, and so I bought a reconditioned laptop: a Dell INSPIRON FOR £130. AND IT IS A BRILLIANT, INSPIRING laptop !!!! Overall I'd have to say I had a very positive experience with giga. Staff were very friendly and more than helpful - mainly Andrew as he's who I mostly dealt with. So I visited the shop on a Friday, and by Saturday afternoon Andrew had already diagnosed the problems and phoned me outlining all these problems, which I already knew to be quite a few as the laptop is around 6 years old and a bit flimsy. He did warn me it may be unfixable so to be honest I expected the worse. So by the next Saturday I hadn't heard from gigafix (or so I thought) so I assumed they were still attempting to fix it, so I got in contact and Andrew told me he'd fixed it by Tuesday, but Andrew couldn't get in contact by phone when he tried. But I wasn't too bothered as I was just very happy he managed to fix my laptop - thanks Andrew + team! The only minor negative I recieved from the experience was that I'd have appreciated an email instead if they couldn't get in contact via my mobile. One thing I found slightly amusing is that Andrew never seems to remember me, so I can only assume he has many customers which doesn't surprise me as they're a great shop to deal with. I'll definitely be a repeat customer :)

I recommend that anyone in the Oxford area who needs any kind of work done on the any electronic device, first check with Andrew in Gigafix. You will not be disappointed by the service or the warmth and respect you will receive. While I was visiting Oxford, I could not get my U S.-based iPhone to work properly. As I was walking along High, I noticed that the shop window at Gigafix had signs that said they did iPhone repairs. I stopped in and told my problem to Andrew, the owner of Gigafix. He stopped the work the was doing and spent several minutes figuring out what my problem was. He advised me about what I needed to do to get service in the U K. He was very friendly and helpful, and refused any payment for the time he spent with me. His advice worked. Later, when I would walk down High, I found myself stopping in, just to say hello and visit with my new friend. I am very glad that I had gone in earlier.

I had an issue with my laptop at the start of lockdown in March, where the case was peeling off when the laptop was opened (a screw had sheered). My first thought was to go the manufacturer for a repair, but their system was clunky and incoherent, and it became quickly clear that it would be a huge palaver to get a fixed. I went without the laptop for a while, but eventually as it was becoming necessary for work, I phoned up GigaFix on recommendation from someone at my workplace. I am very glad I did, as they were able to both assess the problem quickly, inform me of the cost of a replacement base and they managed to get this replacement in and fix the laptop in just over a day. The service was impeccable and I heartily recommend them.

This is a review coming from someone who has built their own pc. I walked into the Oxford Gigafix with my computer in hand, and the computer has a misplaced graphics card as performed by myself. even though I had built this machine I was still unsure on what to do next. as I stepped through the doors I was instantly welcomed with opening arms and reassured me that all was going to be okay. I was introduced to Andrew, and we discussed about what to do with the machine, I left the store empty handed but a relief that all was going to be well. The only down set to this store is the location of it and in my case taking a heavy computer from point A to point B was tricky with other pedestrians and cars. My Garmin SatNav for my bike stopped working due to old battery and Andrew at GigaFix was the only person in Oxford who had the knowledge and skills to repair it - all other places I went to said that they couldn't fix this. The old battery was glued in, and not designed to be disconnected from circuit board without damage - so not designed for repair. Despite this, Andrew somehow managed to connect the battery to the tiny connectors on the circuit board, reconnect to the speaker, and reassemble. Fantastic electronics workshop, and great can-do attitude.

I came to Gigafix in distress because my phone had just fallen in the river. The attendant was able to tell me how my type of phone usually reacts to water while he inspected it, and in the end it turned out my phone was just fine. Because all they had to do was open a compartment and check one part to see if the phone was okay, they didn't charge me anything! They told me that if there were any issues in the future I could bring it right back in, and told me how much parts replacements would cost if I wanted to come back later to replace the speakers. It was a pleasant, honest repair experience and that's what you want when fixing gadgets. I'll trust them with any future tech repair needs.

Came to get a stripped and stuck heat sink screw removed and replaced. Unlike all the other shops around these guys actually knew the equipment they would need. (Note that they do charge more than other places due to their superior expertese) Turned out their extractor set was missing the right size bit so it took a few days longer than expected but they cleaned out those hard to reach fan vents as compensation. :D Very pleased overall.
