I was looking for someone to have a look at the damping issue and found Tom and his team on the internet. I ended it using them to renovate my bedroom as well. From skimming to plastering, wiring etc ,Tom and Gary did most the and finished it a high quality. There are many trademen but a lot of them are not trustful. Especially when they found out you don't know anything. I can trust Tom and his team, leave most of jobs to them. They also came back to me with small issues I had around the house without charging me. I will use them again once I have more budget to work around the house but overrall it is very good experinece.

Tom and Gary were both very helpful, friendly and informative. During the course of the main job (damp proof course) several other issues were discovered and the team just got on and did those as well. Tom is very knowledgeable on the subject of all things damp related and I felt very well informed throughout the process. They were able to recommend other tradespeople to do related jobs as well.

We had Tom and his team in to help address damp problems in an old part of our home that does not have cavity walls. They also helped with some other damp problems caused by a leaking shower unit, and applied some external wall treatment to help weather-proof exposed brickwork. After many months (during which time the damp patches have had time to dry out following the work completed), we are delighted that the problems appear to have been solved. Tom has an interesting vision for his company, which was the subject of some good discussions during coffee breaks. The work was completed by a thoroughly professional and friendly team, and we have no hesitation in recommending Midland Damp Doctor.

Great experience with all at Midland Damp Doctor. Communication was always prompt and friendly. Work completed to a high standard and in good time. A very ethical family business, nothing is too much trouble and what they charge does not reflect the amount of effort put in. We have bought a house that needs a lot of work doing to it, so not only did Tom sort out our damp issues, he has also helped project manage and advise on some other aspects of the work too. Couldn't recommend them highly enough, they are my first port of call if anyone mentions damp to me as I trust them 100%

Having previously been given incorrect advice about damp in my house I was wary of getting anyone in to look at it again. Finding Damp Doctor online they appeared genuine and I’m glad I called as having the work done couldn’t have been more straightforward. Tom visited me at a convenient time and spent a good amount of time examining the problem, explaining his findings and what he recommended was required There was absolutely no pressure to agree to anything and I was given a full explanation for the costs. Once I’d accepted the estimate he was able to fit in my job very soon. Having had similar work done before I was dreading the amount of mess and dust and while Tom had explained that they would clean up at the end of each day I was amazed to find barely any dust when I got home. I was kept updated of their progress and as other unrelated work was also required at the same time Tom arranged for someone to come and do this at a reasonable price, to save me trying to find a tradesperson myself. Tom has an honest and conscientious attitude towards the standard of his work and seems committed to customer satisfaction. While it is too early to confirm that the damp has gone the early results look promising and I have every confidence in the work. I’ve already recommended this company to a family member.

Midland Damp Doctor were so easy to deal with, very different from some companies you come across. They fully answered all the queries and more that we had about the job in question. They were very knowledgeable and more than willing to accommodate our requirements (the job involved an old village hall). The quality of their work was first rate and nothing seemed too much trouble, Tom kept us informed throughout the job. Like another review I am surprised they can keep their prices so low. Had a problem with damp on a wall under stairway ( small area of damp ) Once arrange for Tom to have a look at the damp area, know want was needed to sort out problem. Tom came out few days later cut away part of damp area , once dry out then Tom will return to Finsh job. very please with service Midland damp given so far, change for the work that been carry out so far Will update this review once job finshed .

Had an issue with condensation in the colder months leading to mould spores/sweating walls/damp. Gary came round and recommended a ventilation system and gave me all the facts and an opportunity to consider everything. He was here for an hour and took his time. When the unit was fitted sheets were laid down and feet covers were worn to keep the place clean. Gary said I would notice the difference the next morning which sounded to good to be true, it wasn’t, every day since the installation there has been a complete and utter positive change. I fully recommend. A nice and honest family business. Really nice people who clearly understand their trade. Thank you.

On deciding to get new stair carpet and bathroom flooring, I noticed small holes in my skirting board outside my bathroom. I had one of the national franchise pest control firms do a survey to confirm it was in fact woodworm. They could schedule the necessary work if I first stripped all the wood, flooring etc, though they didn’t think it necessary to look behind the bath panel but they would spray behind the bath panel if I wanted to remove it for them! Realising that really, I’d be doing most of the work for them to come and spray, I found Midland Damp Doctor online. I found Tom to be both friendly and professional and offered advice on other damp issues regardless of whether I decided to employ them or not. Tom automatically removed the bath panel and yes...that’s where the woodworm were coming from. One of the best things as well is that Tom works with local tradesman (not employs them), so then plumbers/joiners etc can coordinate the whole job. Which was great as all bathroom furniture had to be removed to replace some floorboards and spray, it would have been a nightmare to coordinate tradesmen who didn’t have a link. I was also able to update some of the bathroom, as well as tiling the floor after treating the woodworm. MDD were also very helpful in removing the carpet/flooring and happy to spray some bedroom furniture ‘just in case’. Tom also sorted a damp area in my hallway and replastered, as well as cementing outside by the drain. MDD fitted a Recon unit, which provides fresh air constantly and though its not cheap and it does make the immediate area to it a little cooler, it does feel fresher, and most importantly seems to stop condensation and mould effectively.
