I couldn’t recommend this company enough. This is my second new build and the first one I didn’t want to pay the money for a professional snagging company so just done it myself. With my new house, I had heard such bad things about the builders such as no insulation etc, and I received an incentive with my mortgage company so I thought I would use that to pay for it. I am so glad I did! They highlighted things in areas that I would never have thought to even check. They pulled together a comprehensive list of snags in a PDF all ready for me to just forward to the builders.

HomeSnag is a great professional service for anyone that has just bought a New Build property. Whilst my new build optically looked amazing, I was horrified to learn about the multiple issues identified by Alex at HomeSnag. He put together a 60 page document highlighting every issue, which I am going to pass over to the Developer. Alex arrived early, was clear in his objectives and requirements, completed a thorough assessment of the property in ~4-5 hours including going over and beyond (e.g. assessed external items not included in the price of the snag) as well as affording me some of his time on the phone to get additional detail on a few items. HomeSnag was recommended to me by a friend who was extremely pleased with their service. I am now in a position to highly recommend them to anyone with a new build. In fact, my neighbour is now signing them up for her property! Excellent all round!

Professional "snag" inspection service with easy-going, experienced inspectors and national coverage. I enagged them to inspect a new build house in the north east while I was living abroad. Basic inspection is very thorough, even using a drone to check the roof exterior. Combine with the winter-time thermal inspection (consider booking this together with the initial inspection as it's reliant on the weather) for complete peace of mind - you'll be surprised what they can find. So many neighbours asked me about this company when they saw the van outside the house. Worth every penny.

We didn’t have time to arrange a regular survey on a new build as the builder wanted us to complete within 28 days, so we relied on the NHBC guarantee, and thought a snagging survey was the next best thing. We were able to book the survey within the 10 working day period we had to report any issues to the site foreman. The survey took a couple of hours, and was very thorough. In our case the report was available for us to print out with 24 hours. Luckily for us most issues were purely cosmetic, so thankfully no nasty surprises. Would definitely use the service again, if I take leave of my senses and decide to move!

Great service from HomeSnag when looking at our new build home. The office team were easy to communicate with, and were good at arranging our booking. The snagged, Frazer, was professional, quick and thorough, and left us feeling confident in his findings. The report was issued to us within a day, and the findings were things we’d never have been able to spot. We are now on the way getting these resolved, and all for such a relatively small price. We booked homesnag following a recommend from a friend and we’re glad we did. Lee arrived promptly at 8am and explained his plan for the day. He then got to it and examined every inch of the plot, inside and out, to find over 170 issues in total ranging from small snags such as paint snots to big issues with lack of drainage in a garden that slopes towards the house. The report has provided us with the reassurance needed that, while we have a few big issues to be sorted out, that the build quality itself was good. After dealing with a defensive assistant site manager as soon as we’d left him to start the survey he helpfully ensured that every big issue was followed up with a clip of the relevant NHBC guidelines to ensure that the developer knew it was their responsibility to fix the issue, we hope this will help ensure the snags found are sorted out. We booked the full package so we also got a check on the insulation in the walls and thermal imaging that helped identify 3 problematic radiators and heat loss through the attic due to insulation that was not at the required thickness and was not laid properly. Knowing a second report will be done in December makes us more confident that our snags are more likely to be actioned upon too. Thank you HomeSnag!

Fantastic service. We’ve recently in the process of buying our first new build property, with little idea of what we were looking for in terms of snags. Home snag made it so easy, from booking, to arranging to meet at the property - it went without a hitch. Anthony our surveyor was really flexible with the strict timings given by our developer to carry this out, but managed whilst also doing a very thorough job. I am really pleased with the Homesnag done in my newbuild , the inspector George was really good and found faults that i will never imagine was wrong at first, just looking at my property on naked eye looked all nice but deep inside was a lot of faults and mistakes more than 150. Firstly, I'd like to advise anyone who is buying a newly built property to use a professional snagger. I have done a lot of research and have narrowed my choice down to two, one of which was HomeSnag. I managed to arrange with the builder (Persimmon Homes) that a snagger comes into the property prior completion of purchase. Alex did an inspection of our house. I didn't personally meet Alex, yet, as the builder provided access to the property. I also didn't want to be under his feet. He completed his inspection and came with 240 snags. His attention to detail was fantastic and I would've never, ever picked up on many of the snags that he had picked up on. If something was not in line with the building regulation he had quoted the actual regulation and the appropriate standards. He did say that if he was extremely picky that he could've come up with 500+ snags but these would be neat picking and potentially unfair. Now, this was crucial for the next stage as some of the snags were bigger jobs. I had a meeting with the site manager and he was extremely receptive of the report and was happy to rectify ALL identified issues, without pushing back. He thought that Alex was very fair and he doesn't feel he needed to challenge anything. He explained that some of the independent snaggers come with 600+ issues and they have to then check each one of them against the relevant regulations to see if they're valid or not, if they're not that could invalidate the report, which you do have the right to challenge but it will take time. I am so pleased that I have engaged HomeSnag that I would strongly recommend to anyone to use them. They can be seen as a bit more expensive, than some others on the market, but if you consider the cost of the house and the cost of rectifying the issues down the line, they're invaluable. I cannot stress enough how pleased I am that I have engaged HomeSnag and how pleased I am with the work that Alex has done.

We used HomeSnag for our new build the day after we got the keys. We were fully informed by Tom about when he would be arriving. He was super friendly and welcoming, and did an absolutely amazing job with the snagging. He found 164 snags, the majority of which we things that I would never have seen or known about. Luckily, there was only 2-3 "major" things wrong with our build and having the report, evidence and knowledge that HomeSnag gave us meant that the developer had enough to go on to fix it. If you're buying a new build I would seriously recommend getting them in. I wasn't keen at first as it's another expense in the expensive time of buying a house, but it was genuinely worth every penny. We have a detailed list of issues along with evidence of why it's a problem. I can now rest easy knowing that my home was built to a certain quality. Worth every penny.

Had a Survey carried out by Home snag today. We booked over the phone about a month ago, everything was explained clearly and a very knowledgeable advisor answered all my questions with ease. Didn't really know what to expect but can't recommend these guys enough. Anthony was our surveyor and who clearly knows his stuff and very pleasant and professional, discussed several of the issues with me and highlighted various defects he had discovered on completion. I expected waiting around a week for report but I received it this evening and the content and quality of the report is excellent. It is split into 3 sections, a compiled report complete with images and descriptions of defects that I have submitted straight to the developer, an overview with aerial photos of various aspects of property and also a guide as to what to do with the reports and helpful hints and tips to help you. I would recommend anyone with a new build property to take the opportunity to use these guys to professionally snag your house for total peace of mind and that it enables you to provide visual evidence of defects so the developer is in a position to carry out the work without the stress of arguing directly with them without the knowledge of regulations etc. Thanks again Home Snag 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
