We had a damp proof course & membrane installed by this company and its fair to say the house feels different already. Very easy to do business with, Paul and Ken who do the heavy work are amazing guys, David the boss man is so knowledgeable regarding damp issues etc that as soon as he left after the initial assessment we knew this was the company to do the work and more importantly do it right. Had my chimney repaired and loft insulation installed. David and his operatives were very professional with attention to detail. The preparation was excellent and all my questions were answered fully. A lot of work was required to the chimney inside and out. It now looks new with no more dampness. I cannot speak highly enough of the work that David has done for us. We had a major issue with water leaking in through our chimney. Dry abode gave us a thorough quote and inspection. David identified the problem and explained thoroughly the work that needed to take place. He completed the work to a very high standard and I believe it is worth mentioning that three other roofers had attended the property and they were either not able to identify the problem, or they had provided us with false information. David and his team rectified damp in the chimney breast and alcoves in the dining room of my 1930's semi detached house. After his initial survey they started work and completed the work in approximately four weeks, I was in no rush so the time frame didn't matter. Their work was to a high standard and David kept in touch to make sure everything was going to plan. The 2nd we did and we are so happy as we knew what to expect, and the work needed ahead of time and the type of money we needed to reserve - so no surprises! From the first meeting to completion of the works they have been very professional and carried out a fantastic job for us and at every stage the communication has been great with clear and concise explanations of the activities to be undertaken. What a great guy! (David) I have a issue with damp and water under sub floor near chimney breast, DryAbode were the first to show up in a google search and I’m glad they did. Proprietor, David Kerry, conducted a very thorough survey, produced a comprehensive report and made recommendations for remedial work to be undertaken. He coordinated a team of different trades, from those rectifying the damp underfloor to roof, and those completing the additional works such as plumbing, electrics and plastering, so that the job ran seamlessly. In February 2018 I had David from Dry Abode come and assess my damp problem in my Lounge. Once the work started it was found that the previous occupants had not only removed the original chimney breast but had completely bodged up the centre section where the chimney breast had been. David with his team led by Ashley did a thorough and superb job of replacing the centre section of the wall, re-instating the cavity that had been bodged previously. Once the wall was repaired, they continued to complete the damp proofing and re-instating all of the plaster an floorboards. Since completion in February there have been no problems whatsoever and just this week I have contacted David to come and do a similar damp proofing excercise to the Dining room where again the chimney breast had been removed by previous occupants. I am confident that I will receive a superb and efficient service from David, Ashley and all at Dry Abode. They have been excellent throughout all of the work and cleaned up on completion. Really professional attitude to the work done the job was surveyed by David and quoted at a reasonable price. I can honestly say I was most impressed with this company and with the positive attitude of the proprietor and surveyor David Kerry. The house I presented him with really was chronically in need of attention, it had numerous types of damp and it would have fazed many a contractor. You used your obvious personal knowledge of building structure together with the assistance of technology by way of thermal imaging, a drone and physical examination. You identified exactly what had happened and was able to confirmed that the damage was caused by the storm. You prepared a detailed report of what was required and carried out the work within days of your initial visit. The work was professionally carried out by you and your team and there was no mess, no damage, in fact there was no sign you had been. The repair was 100% successful. A serious structural defect was discovered on bay windows belonging to my aged mother. A phone call to Dryabode resulted in David's prompt arrival the following morning. Following his inspection he explained the situation to us and potential solution options. He was unrushed and spent an hour with us answering all our questions. David was sensitive to the urgency of the situation and quickly provided a comprehensive report. This was readable to the lay man but also provided all the necessary detailed technical information and accompanying photographs we required to progress. Excellent work and incredibly professional. I was recommended Dryabode by my son who had his stone gutter lead replaced. I was getting problems with damp around my chimney. David inspected the problems with the chimney and took pictures to explain the source of rain water seeping into and around the chimney. There was a large shrub growing from my neighbours side of the chimney, the roots of which caused the plaster to break apart and water to enter down my side of the chimney. David and his team of workers sorted out the problem and certainly went above and beyond to rectify the problems found. I was skeptical about contacting Dry Abode due to some of the other reviews here. My personal experience is that they were excellent - carried out a proper inspection using the correct equipment to measure moisture in walls/surfaces, as well as detailed visual inspections. A report was provided within a week by email. I now know where to focus my attention to rectify the issues I had. Diagnosis should be the first step in solving problems such as damp, and that's where Dry Abode begin their work. I'd recommend them and feel some of the negative reviews don't reflect the service provided at all. A good experience and would recommend.
