Reviews of Autism Unravelled

We had a very 'human' and sensitive experience with this organisation. The time taken to explain the positive aspects of ASC as part of the assessment process for our daughter was hugely helpful to us all. There was also consideration of the pace with which information was shared. We never at any point felt rushed to understand which greatly assisted in minimising overwhelm for us all.
The options for follow-up feels comforting and there is a sense that our daughter's case will be remembered by the team at Autism Unravelled. For any family having to undertake this assessment, especially those with adolescent girls who have spent considerable time masking their behaviour I would really recommend Autism Unravelled.

Background:
We approached Autism Unravelled to assess whether our daughter had ADHD which then turned into an assessment for ASD too.
Review:
Very pleased with the whole process. The level of care and attention provided by the various professionals involved and the admin side was exceptional.
Every effort was made to be flexible with our timelines and we felt fully informed during the whole process.
What we also appreciated was that the tone / content of the final report was very much focused on our daughter’s strengths and how best we, herself, and her school can support her rather than concentrating on what she struggles with.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND

My teenage daughter received a sensitive and thoughtful report clearly outlining her diagnosis and practical steps/recommendations for her, us, and her school to support her going forward as a young autistic person. Excellent follow-up support and therapy as well.

I highly recommend Autism Unravelled, I wish I had found them sooner, all the information they shared with me was brilliant, Louise and Rebecca gave me tools and strategies to help with my 3 year old son both at home and in the community. I have noticed improvement in my sons communication. If your looking for a diagnosis I can honestly say use Autism Unravelled they are much better than other places. Rebecca and Louise are so supportive and offer advice that is helpful, you can can see they really care and actually want to help.

As a whole family, we are extremely appreciative of the whole team’s kind, and extremely thorough assessment of our youngest son’s way of interacting with the world. The practical, everyday strategies suggested by the team are very clear, and the reasoning behind them clearly explained. Above all the assessment really helped to identify our son’s many strengths and was focussed on positive strategies to help him now and in the future.

Louise and Rebecca provide a fantastic service - they are both very engaging and quickly put families at ease, even my 3 year old who had never met them before. They took the time to work through specific issues with us and offered practical advice and strategies that have made a huge difference to our day-to-day life managing an autistic child. Highly recommended for assessment, therapy and general moral support!

I recommend Autism Unravelled without hesitation. Rebecca and Louise are professional and friendly, and demonstrated clear communication throughout. Their kind and competent approach during the whole assessment process gave me clear confidence in their ability to reach an accurate result for my daughter.

Not only was AU's service very professional and thorough, but I never could have anticipated that I would enjoy the experience so much. The assessment team truly understands how to hold space, and it has made all the difference.
Going into this, I knew I'd have to trust the process enough not to mask during the assessment, and I was incredibly nervous about this… But when it was done, I knew it'd already been a life-changer, no matter what the outcome, because not only was it the first time in my life I did not mask... It was the first time I felt like I didn't need to.
An ASD assessment process can be tremendously overwhelming for women, and I started mine with so many conflicting narratives about what certain aspects of my life meant...
I was so scared of being dismissed for having survived well into adulthood or patronised for admitting how exhausting surviving has been, especially if it turned out that I wasn't autistic. But I was also afraid that a diagnosis would shatter all of the narratives I've used to understand myself so far… Despite my fears, I never once experienced any judgment, nor was I expected to justify my strengths and weaknesses… The assessment was conducted in such a way that I didn't fear either outcome and felt confident that whatever it was, it would be accurate.
The depth of detail included in the assessment report really reinforced that I did the right thing by opting for this kind of assessment (as opposed to the 'one and done' assessment alternatives available elsewhere) and that I'd chosen the best place for it. Moreover, the report reflected precisely how deeply each of my life experiences was considered before, during, and after the assessment.
Best of all, the outcome did not shatter or overwrite my story… It has helped me reclaim it.
Now the narrative is straightforward because it finally feels like it is mine.

Very happy to have found them! Rebecca and Louise were incredibly professional, and at the same time made me feel comfortable and confident I would receive the attention my daughter and I needed. Highly recommend.

Louise and Rebecca were amazing. They hold my hand tighly from day one. I'm an adult who found out that is in the autism spectrum at the age of 32. It was/is a quite intense revelation and I'm so glad that I found them to cross this brigde. The support was amazing and I felt seen all the time. I couldn't recommend more. It's a new life for me, thanks for being there.

Having experienced the diagnosis process through CAMHS, I can vouch for the fact that this service is easier, speedier, and leaves you with a much clearer notion of your child’s strengths and challenges, and how to move forward as a family, and in the education system.

I would certainly recommend Autism Unravelled to other families looking for experienced professionals who will guide you through the assessment process and answer any questions you have on the way. Process was smooth & timely. Thank you again.
