Jo is a very skilled and knowledgeable psychologist. She's a warm, friendly person and works from a spacious, comfortable office. It's clear that Jo really does care about her clients and her work. Would 100% recommend Join Psychology.

I had some clinical supervision sessions with Jo as I was feeling uncontained at work and wanted a space to think about my clients and develop my clinical skills. I found the sessions EXTREMELY helpful and would recommend Jo to anyone. She is extremely thoughtful and reflective, and went out of her way to send me relevant papers and formulation diagrams that were relevant to the cases I discussed. I thoroughly enjoyed all of our discussions and they motivated me during a time when I was finding work tough. I’m so grateful to Jo and will be booking in further supervision sessions going forward for sure.

My daughter and I had a lovely experience working with Jo (and her colleague Harriet) for an ASD assessment. Jo was very patient and kind, extremely knowledgeable, very vigilant with the diagnostic process, super responsive to questions and concerns, and made us feel comfortable and looked after through the whole experience. The report she has provided is extremely thorough and will go a long way towards helping her in the future. I would strongly recommend seeking help from Join Psychology.

I have known Jo professionally for years, as both an employee and colleague. She is a highly professional, knowledgeable and experienced psychologist, with all the qualities you would want in a therapist (kind, empathic and patient). I would recommend her services highly.

Jo saw us very quickly, she was very professional and efficient. She answered all my emails quickly(sometimes within minutes), gave very detailed responses and was very helpful before I booked an assessment. My experience with her was very different to others I came in contact with, some never replied and some were quite unprofessional and believe me I contacted many professionals.
She made us feel very welcome and comfortable when we saw her and guided us through all the questions.
My son has struggled for years, and just passed from one person to another. So many professionals and so many different diagnosis. I felt quite upset by the system, but I knew I had to seek a private route if we are ever going to find some answers. Finally, thanks to my determination and Jo we have the answer we needed and already our life has changed for the better.
I hope that my review will help someone as it was not an easy journey for us before we met Jo and I do not wish anyone to go through it.
Thank you Jo for all your help and your hard work, I can only imagine how many hours went into all of it. Thank you for finally giving us some clarity and understanding.

I was referred here for an ongoing autism diagnosis and following therapy. The process was really easy and straightforward, the staff including Jo were very welcoming and lovely, very professional and explained everything in terms I could understand. My therapy sessions with Jo have been most helpful following my diagnosis, and I couldn't recommend her enough for anyone going through the same process!

Jo was my supervisor for a period of 2 years and has provided ad hoc supervision opportunities since, related to my professional development as an aspiring Clinical Psychologist. Jo ensured that I had consistent, protected time for supervision in line with requirements set out for an individual of my level. While Jo is an incredibly experienced and skilled practitioner, she is also warm, kind, and empathetic which created a safe, collaborative and supportive supervision environment. Jo continually encouraged my reflective capacity and appropriately challenged me to expand my thinking when considering my caseload and working environment. Jo also regularly provided additional material, research and formulation examples to support and develop my practice.
In addition, during the time in which I was supervised by Jo, the COVID-19 pandemic began and amongst all the uncertainty of the time, Jo ensured as little impact on my supervision as possible, quickly transitioning to remote format and maintaining consistent communication throughout.
I feel that Jo’s input as a supervisor has shaped me as a clinician and led me to not only to gain a place on the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology, but also to become the practitioner I am today. I am so grateful to Jo for all she has done for me over the years I have known her and could not recommend her more highly.

I had a great experience at Join Psychology. I was looking for a private, initial consultation to get a professional opinion regarding autism. Dr Coombs was great throughout. I had lots of questions beforehand, which she answered patiently and clearly and I was able to see her quickly. The initial consultation was also very good. I found Dr Coombs (Jo) to be friendly and approachable, but also professional throughout - a great balance! Many thanks Jo for your help.
