S. A. N.There is security barrier before you can enter the area. Security will direct you where to go depending on the cruise ship. Very easy drop-off of passengers. On return, we were collected at the short stay car park. Clear signage, pretty organised with lots of staff wearing high-viz vest. Push carts readily available. On the left of the passenger drop-off area, you will see conveyors with numbers. Drop your suitcases depending on which deck your stateroom is before going inside the terminal to check-in.

We however managed to board very easily without too much inconvenience. Plenty of parking around the cruise terminal. We haven't managed to park fairly close by properly begin 2 miles on a residential Road.
W. M.If you are boarding a ship be prepared for long queues. Staff very helpful. WiFi in terminal bit hit n miss so download or screenshot any documents to your phone or print them our. It's a drawn out process. Once on board get a cocktail! You'll need it. 🤣🤣🍹🍹

Parking is very close to the terminal. So no long walks.
There’s plenty of seating to relax and the building is nice and modern.
I would highly recommend travelling from this port.

G. G.Efficient disembarkation from Queen Elizabeth. Much better than any airport. But elderly passengers should note that it is quite a long walk from the ship to the car park, especially if you have hand luggage to carry.

M. G.So efficient - you arrive with your car. Luggage is unloaded for you. Hand over your car keys and the car is driven away to a safe compound. Next time you see your luggage it is in your stateroom (cabin)!! On return on disembarkation luggage is grouped together
According to the deck you were on or level of accommodation take the ticket to the CPS parking cabin and walk to collect your car with trolley loaded with luggage. I am sure help would be available if you needed it.
P. G. M.Large, open space with plenty of parking (not cheap!) Right nearby. Easy travel from rail station. Adjacent sea access for the ship provides interesting departure.
A.I wanted to see where the Titanic sailed from but they wouldn't let me in. To hell with you!

I. S.This is the check in terminal for po cruises normal times it is very busy from luggage drop-off to check in if you arrive along time before your allocated time you might have along wait . But plenty off staff on hand and drink facility's in normal times so once you begin check in it's about 15 min to stepping on board. Went on Thursday last week arrived at 11.30 time we went through luggage drop-off covid test wait for result sent too your phone and check in stepped on board at 13.30 not Bad! Car parking by cps five minute walk

B. B.All aboard P&O Azura. Boarding was excellent. Staff were fantastic. Prices for extras great. Buffet was overcrowded and could do with extra seats. Overall enjoyable cruise
B. F.Our first time on a cruise and from the moment we got to the terminal, the whole process was so smooth. Someone takes your luggage, and it's there at your cabin when you get on the ship, someone else takes your car (there is a fee for this service, run by CPS), and when you return, there's no hassle getting it back.

J. &. B. R.Great, fantastic! Except for trying to find the berth at Gate 10 and finding we had to go back and find it at Gate 4 instead! Felt lost in space! However, there were helpful folk at each point, the first COVID check sent us to the other gate to be covid checked because we had a driver with us who was not coming on board, but once we found the right place it was very thorough and a well oiled system. A wheelchair was available and the man took me all the way to the very nice upgraded cabin ( which seemed huge and a nice spot of luxury) very cheerfully. Buffet food perfect for me, good selection of choices, and no room left in me for those delicious-looking deserts. The entertainment called "Astonishing" was good fun and the audience participation bit brilliant! Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
Staff all v v helpful. Evening meal delish, esp cream of artichoke soup, and also eggs on asparagus! Good combo playing in the atrium so sat in the Blue bar above and enjoyed it all.
Loved the whole new experience.

B.The covid testing before arranging at the parking, where they collect your vehicle keys has improved before going into the cruise terminal but then one has to wait for a text message, covid negative before going through security and I must say, lots if staff processing and was better than expected, around 90 minutes before embarking the cruise ship. I was at the same terminal 7 weeks ago and it wasn't so good as it took around 2 hours because of an IT issue. The safety is very important to everyone in these times so overall probably better then some airports.
A. C.Clean, tidy and a pleasure to go too. Don't turn up early or you are virtually 'forced'' into the paying car park. Arrive at the last possible moment, especially if collecting anyone.

k. d.Terminal is good however more social distancing would be helpful. Car parking at port was well priced and efficient. COVID testing before boarding Iona took far too long. It took place at Mayflower terminal and took 2 hrs before we could drive to Ocesn terminal. Far too long!
If you are dropped off at Ocean terminal you can be tested there. Queues times varied.

K. H.What can you say - we have to wait here for Covid testing results. Its utilitarian, functional and not massively comfortable. Depending on your cruise company (we've used 2) the staff are wonderful and welcoming and they are everywhere! Systems in place work - social distancing and mask wearing.

Unusual to get key cards at your stateroom but it worked well. Yes good baggage handling at the outset thru to getting thru the check-in and on board, well done Cunard.

Do spend some time in the Terminal as u might get some nice shopping to do for you and your family.... The City Maps are readily available for free in the Terminal and wish u guys a safe travel ......

M. W.Had a week on Ventura and must say what a well run operation they have at the terminal. Dropped off right by the baggage drop and plenty of helpful staff were available to guide me through the checking in process and boarding. My bags were ready to meet me when I got to my cabin!

On returning to port the whole process was easy and collecting the luggage was very quick and straight forward. My first cruise and I was very impressed.

B. S.We had a bad experience, but I believe that to be atypical. The people/agents were lovely to work with and they seemed to be doing everything in their power to keep us comfortable. However, there had been some sort of accident that caused a huge back up. We had a two hour wait. Facility was clean, they had large fans running to try to keep the temperature down (it was the middle of the worst heatwave in 40 years), there was plenty of seating. The lines moved at a brisk pace, so I believe that he'd it not been for the flood of people that arrived all at once, our experience might have been better.

t. d.Pleasant enough place. Could use better signage for exit. They assume everyone has baggage checked. If you don't, nothing to direct one outside. Once outside, people direct passengers to various ground transport. Bathroom clean, well-maintained. Staff very courteous, efficient.
V. K.The best terminal in entire port of Southampton... This terminal has lot of facilities... More spacious.... More number of chairs to accommodate in waiting...also the luggage collection hall is quite big.. And avoids un necessary confusions for collecting you luggage after finishing your cruise... This terminal is quite near to your shopping locations... You can just walk all the way rather than waiting for the shuttle bus....when compared to other terminals like mayflower... There is escalator.. Etc...

M. p.We went on our first Crouse from here and didn't know what to do or expect, the staff from start at the gate, the car park, baggage, check-in were great. They made you feel at ease and nothing was to much trouble, it was a joy from start to finish but sadly I lost my wife but she did get to go on her crouse and loved it

S. Y.There's not much to say apart from you embark and disembark cruise ships from this building. You park directly outside and both your luggage and car are taken on board the ship and directly to the onsite var park for you. Check in is quick and easy plus there are toilet and snack facilties available. Staff are helpful and friendly. If you take all this into consideration, it's a stress free way to start a holiday.

L. K.I had to go here as I needed to get on a ship in order to go on holiday. Upon driving in I was greated by a pleasant chap who took our luggage for us. Once in the terminal we were handed a card with a letter on it. We sat for about 15 min until our letter was called out for check in, which was thorough and friendly. Then through security and on to the ship. A couple of weeks later our trip was over and we found ourselves back here, but in a slightly different bit. Finding our bags was easy enough and we were back at the car within about 10 min.
K.Well organized, stress free experience, plenty of parking available and easily accessible by rail and bus links, taxi usually required to get to the port.

R. C.I have dropped friends off here on several occasions. Everytime I do so we always encounter this extremely unpleasant article who works dockside (basically a person who directs traffic). I'm surprised the cruise operators have not sacked him as he is one of the most odious creatures I have ever had the misfortune of encountering! Having said all that and on a more pleasant note, I must say that the staff who collect the passengers luggage have always been very pleasant - perhaps they could pass on a few helpful tips to "he who needs them".

D. N.It's nothing special, it's a big terminal with lots of seating and a small cafe in the corner. Staff are pleasant enough. Your not in there long enough for it to be anything fancy. Get there at your required time, get a coloured card with a letter on it, wait for it to be call out, get checked in, get on your cruise. Plain and simple

P. 7.Been here a few times, getting through is quick and painless and overall it’s very efficient at processing passengers, but I didn’t give it 5 stars because the port lacks that little bit extra that makes it feel “nice”.

L. !.To be fair I got through and on to the ship in around 45mins and no problems but compared to city terminal in Southampton it was over complex. There was a weird system to drive you car around and then they have to park it for you. But it did it's job and got me on the ship so good overall.

S. S.It's a terminal, , it's a big squarerish box. The porters are efficient and friendly enough, there are not enough seats, but then people only want to collect their luggage and get on their way. It is easy to get out of.
n. m.This was the best holiday of my life. I never thought I can do the cruise but this one was nice and smooth you could not even feel that the ship is moving. I was overwhelmed by everything. Everything was of good standard and of good quality. Intact I've done the Nile river cruise and I thought it was the best until I've done the P&O cruise. The ocean terminal is pretty large, clean, and has plenty of seating.

J. D.Out of all the cruise terminals in Southampton this one is the newest, biggest and in my opinion the best. It’s nice and light inside and the guest flow works really well. You will generally sail from here on either a bigger P&O ship, some princess vessels and sometimes a Cunard liner. I myself have cruised from this berth a few times and I have to say I love it.
K. R.To be honest it's a warehouse/ hanger but organised and friendly staff to assist. Apart from.. the rude lady we encountered checking us in to the assistance lounge on ship.. abrupt and disrespectful.. advised to be at the departure lounge by 8.15am we were there by 7.50 In a queue as advised lounge was full and waiting staff to assist disabled off to shore... fine no worries! When we got to head of queue some 15 mins later within 8.15time.. this lady advised we were late(?) When asked where we were going we said Birmingham airport.. only to be told passengers had already been offloaded and we were holding up buses (?) I asked how? Reply to.me was don't be rude we are doing our best....if we want to disembark independently feel free but there'll be no one to help if we need it!!!. 2 things 1. Coming home from holiday extremely early start.. tired don't expect this attitude..said nothing. 2. Lady needs either customer care retraining or get another job

B.An ok terminal but not fantastic, considering the number of people that need to pass through, the embarkation area and prices is quite good but disembarkation is cramped and limited and turns into a free for all. It would be much better if some carousels were installed for easier collection of luggage.

Seating inside is in rows best to sit at the end of a row .
Drinks in lounge expensive . Toilets ate provided . After checking in it's a good hike to the ship through security and boarding ramps. Staff are polite and helpful and many do enjoy wishing you a lovely holiday. I wouldnt leave my car at the docks as live quite close to them .

Its just so easy, pre book the car park which is literally yards away from the terminal.
It's so well organised, put your bags on the conveyor belt and make your way in to departures.
You are given a coloured card with a letter on it.
The colours of the card and letter are held up by staff denoting that it's your turn to come forward to the check in desk.
Following that it does not take long to go through security and before you know it your on the ship.
From there on the holiday starts enjoying the hospitality of the ship.
We find it much less stressful than an airport.

L. S.Arrived for 3pm checkin. Sailed through Southampton (excuse the pun). Really busy at CPS parking however it was very organised and just required a little patience from car owners. Checkin was smooth. A couple of accidents on the M3 meant some passengers were delayed. So pleased that the ship waited for them.
Disembarking was just as smooth. We had a 930 slot and were in our car at 950am. Again, no big queues exiting Southampton.
Very pleasantly surprised after a previously chaotic experience coming off the Brittany Ferry from Spain.

L. G.We took a cruise with P&O on Ventura and boarded here. It was quick and efficient and although we hadn't waited at all our cases were already in our room when we got in.
D. M.The staff are always very helpful and friendly, and there is a little cafe upstairs, but it's lacking shops and amenities like you find in other cruise terminals
W. H.Cruise terminals will never be the same as airports in terms of what they offer, but the Ocean Terminal is pretty good for what it is. It shares its name with the art deco structure that stood on the adjacent dock, but ascetically it does not have much else in common. Its design is a long curved building that looks part spaceship/part pig stall/part B&Q - basically a corrugated iron structure. There are a series of lanes out the front for drop offs/car drops as appropriate. You leave your bags with a porter kerb side under a large canopy that juts out the front before walking into the main entrance.
Departures are on the first floor and you immediately go up an escalator to a welcome desk at the top that will give you a card indicating your check in time. The departure lounge lies behind this welcome desk. Running half way down the departure lounge are the check in desks where you have to complete your medical questionnaire, receive your cruise cards and get given a map of the ship.
The departure lounge itself has plenty of blue seating and there is a small bar/café but it cannot really compare to the many chain coffee shops/pubs that you see in airports. The back left of the departure lounge is where the security checks are, whereas on the back right is a small area for suite passengers. The seating is exactly the same as the rest of the floor, but it has a small station offering complementary teas/coffees/newspapers and biscuits.
The security is reasonably big, and they are pretty efficient. You then walk past the "to the ship" sign onto a walkway that leads to a zigzag airbridge that takes you to the ship without going back outside. Next to the "to the ship" sign is a shut doorway that on your return will be open and leads to a long staggered ramp that heads back down to the ground floor to the baggage reclaim hall. This is a dark cavernous room which houses everyone's suitcases to collect. At the back of the hall is a small customs channel before you arrive back at the main entrance of the terminal.
Southampton has other cruise terminals, they all pretty much do the same thing as this one. It is reasonably modern although is shut during the winter of 2018/2019 to be refurbished for the new P&O ship Iona.

J. B.Found it a bit confusing most cruise terminal you are directed to a parking space.
This one you drive up and queue and wait for someone to give you a sticker take photos of your car sign forms and hand over your vehicle to someone else to park, although I could see where they were being parked.
Seemed a lot of hassle this was for a P & O cruise. I usually go with royal caribean where you drive up to terminal they take your luggage and you are directed every step of the way to park your vehicle a lot simpler less queuing. Hence 3 stars
A. R.Was very impressed with the efficiency shown by the friendly staff. This meant that the unavoidable wait while more than 1500 passengers where checked in was kept to a minimum.
F. J.Terminal from which P&O Southampton cruises depart. Modern and clean, well organised. The cruise-line linked valet parking operates from the front door, and luggage is taken from the same place, so no baggage moving to do. After the cruise cars are returned to the same place - very efficient.

Look out for the ship name and gate number displayed on boards approaching the docks. Then follow the signs to the correct gate.

J. H.Nice terminal close to Southampton city center and the central railway station. Accessible via Uber for less than 10 quid. You can travel from London to the Ocean Cruise Terminal in about 2.5 hours via train and Uber. The Queen Mary 2 departs from the terminal for its transatlantic crossing to New York.

M. T.Getting into the port is most difficult. Stay on the right hand lane otherwise you are heading for parking at ikea. The right lane heads for the ports. Make sure you are early enough as getting from the main road to the port needed took us one hour of creeping traffic. Mainly because we chose the wrong lane. Signposts are not at all helpful driving to the port. Don't follow tomtom as it will lead you to the wrong area. Get the street name and follow that.
Seeing Southampton has many cruises leaving from there one would imagine that the signs would be more helpful.
If we had headed for ikea and stayed in the right lane we would have gitten there much easier.
