I cannot tell you what an uplifting experience this was. Shaan is an incredible teacher. His passion for this dance and talent as a teacher is what carries and develops you. Everyone in the group was a beginner and, by the end, we were ready to go dancing at a salsa club. Thank you for such an amazing experience; I will definitely be going again!

I attended the 1-Day Intensive Salsa Beginners Course in the beginning of October and it was great! Shaan was an excellent instructor and explained everything in detail. The day went by really quickly and the things we covered didn't feel too overwhelming. Would definitely recommend!

This past month, I’ve had a great time attending both the salsa and bachata beginner classes - with my friend who suggested it. Shaan is a great instructor and breaks down the basic steps really well. Shaan and Teresa also showed us amazing partner work! No matter if you pick up the steps fast or slow everyone is encouraged equally. Practice , practice , practice is key. This is a great environment to learn Latin dances and meet some new people!

For me, it was the perfect balance of fun and challenging :) If you're looking for a crash course to get you comfortable with Bachata basics by the end of the day, then I can't recommend this course highly enough :))) Thanks again Ovgu & Caramelo Dance!!

We started with the intensive Sunday Bachata course and found it very well structured by the instructor Mr Shaan, his experience, personality and good humor helped us relax to enjoy the lesson in company of charming course mates. I am so happy I joined this dance school. I have tried couple of different ones before but wasn´t feeling it. Caramelo is exactly what I was looking for. Great friendly/family like atmosphere. All the teachers are professional but also fun! Everything is taught in detail which I think is important. My girlfriend gifted me a beginner's intensive salsa day. It was intense and fun! The lesson taught the basic steps and gave a great introduction to partner work. My experience of working with a partner in the past has always been unfulfilling, I really made a huge leap in my confidence and excited about going to the next class. Can only recommend the course. I had tried many other options before being referred to the salsa course at Caramelo, but none of them were as good. The teacher has some great sense of humour and that helps a lot, especially when you are fresh starting out with your beginner course - there will be times when you will feel like giving up...those are the times you will appreciate the teacher's sense of humour to get you through the next level. So far my experience has been a positive, genuinely feel like I have been learning since the first day. So if you are looking make a move into the salsa world, I guess you should definitely consider Caramelo!

Excellent teachers, great facilities, friendly atmosphere. There is always enough space and you are not in some crowded club, so teachers don't need to shout. As will groups aren't that huge, so a lot of times you will get individual tips that will help you a lot. With them I now can easily enjoy dancing anywhere, while I was struggling other places. I would recommend them anything from beginner to advanced.

Highly recommend Salsa Beginners course with Shaan. I am a shy person who enjoys dancing but have never had any lessons before. Shaan is a great teacher he makes the whole class feel relaxed and encourages a friendly atmosphere. I've been taking classes in Caramelo for about a year and a half and I love it!! The teachers are super fun and friendly, the content of the classes is always changing so you can do classes over and over again without ever getting bored! There is an amazing choice of levels of difficulty/styles of latin dances I made many many good friends with whom I often go out for salsa parties, but also for "normal" nights out More recently I was involved in the performance course and I just loved it!! Quite a lot of hard work that's true, but it's just so rewarding and fun to be able to perform in the end in front of crowds, both in London & internationally, we felt like superstars!! We travelled all together to Croatia to perform, and it was probably one of the best holidays of my life: a bit of sightseeing, trekking in the nature, lazy time on the beach, rehearsing, dancing parties, dance workshops, restaurants... :D Would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn salsa, whatever the levels, in a friendly and fun atmosphere!!

Me and my partner had the privilege of being part of the winter 2018 salsa partner-work team and we both had an amazing time. Our teachers Shaan and Teresa clearly care for their students and devoted a large amount of their personal time towards our development and I can’t thank them enough. I found that the experience has made me a much better dancer and I highly recommend it if you are looking to develop your skills in both partner-work and styling. Please bear in mind that even though this is a student team, the standards are high. If your not a team player or cannot dedicate the time to practice, this isn’t for you.

I LOVE Caramelo dancing classes. The courses are really well thought out, and you learn loads in a short space of time, but they don't move too fast for you to follow... The teachers are awesome- funny and kind and command the classes! And the best part is the social dancing after class, so you can practice what you've just learned.. can't recommend it enough!

I started dancing cross body at caramelo in 2017. I highly recommend this dance school, teachers are friendly, focused on details and professional. You will build a strong technique with them. In June 2018 I joined the Salsa performance team. It was an amazing experience, with really nice people. With caramelo, more than performing, you will learn how to deliver a high quality show with synchronicity and nice body movements. Shaan and Teresa were detailed focused and gave us a lot of good tips to improve and get faster in our moves. I can feel I am a better Salsa dancer thanks to both of them. They gave us a lot of their personal time attending weekend rehearsals. So in return it is important each team member be engaged and come to extra rehearsals otherwise the team is moving at 2 different speads . Some of the teammates had other commitments and could not attend weekend rehearsals. Shaan has always been nice to them and while they were a little bit behind and did not perfectly know the routine they got the chance to perform at several occasions. I would encourage anyone to live this amazing experience, it’s a really good challenge that’s will help you to get a better dancer in a short amount of time. You will also have the chance to perform at an international event!

Review: Intensive 1-Day Salsa Course A welcoming atmosphere, a quality location and a fun instructor. My experience with Caramelo Latin Dance ticked all of these boxes. As a complete beginner, you are guided by experienced and patient instructors. The facilities are clean, spacious and well lit. These small details matter as they give a warranted sense of professionalism to the school. It is no exaggeration to say that you will dance by the end of the session. The format of the class is structured in such a way as to prevent information overload. One rotates among dance partners, which is not only a great way to make new friends but also get accustomed to the different styles of dancing for men and women alike. If you're thinking about starting to dance either Salsa or Bachata, the 1-Day Intensive class with Caramelo is a no-brainer.

Can't recommend Caramelo Latin Dance enough. Completed a 1 day intensive Salsa course, and I loved the experience. I've been trying to learn Cuban dance in past six months but since I joined “Caramelo Latin Dance” realise that the way they teach is totally different and elegant than other places. This place is like proper dance school with lots of great and patient dance instructors. I took as many courses as I could and fill so satisfied that I would like to continue my way up. all thanks to my amazing dance instructors: Shaan (salsa, bachata), Pedro & Linda (kizomba), Rebekah (zouk) and Gabriella (bachata). I look forward to learning more from other fantastic dance instructors: Dorian, Anna, Fahim, Teresa, Ovgu, Grace, Batu, Eddie And Others... In my humble opinion, if anyone out there is looking for a place to learn correct/proper way, this is the place. You guys rock ;)

Very friendly and talented teachers. I got to attend classes for over a month using a Groupon offer and had a very fun experience learning the basics of bachata. Though I personally didn't like the fact that one can't drop by on any day and participate in lessons, I can see the advantage of booking lessons for the entire month and sticking to the schedule. It is a wee bit pricey compared to the other classes though.

Fantastic instructor spanish girl who has recently started very patient very positive and the intensive bachata class just had a super vibe as a result, able to learn in a non judgemental environment and had a great time with some awesome people, the other members of the team were also super friendly. I would most definitely be returning in hope they move the bachata class hours during the week forward a bit so it's not so late to 7- 8 would be perfect.

Really enjoyable beginners group class...teacher Shaan broke down the steps to teach in a very methodical way, so that my very scientific husband could understand and achieve...and loads of dancing after the technique bit so I enjoyed too!!! I took a one day intensive course in bachata in november and I just loved the experience so much that I went ahead and booked the offer they had at that time of unlimited classes for January, so I've already been through one begginer class in zouk, cha cha, salsa and bachata and the atmosphere is amazing, great teachers and very good exercise at the same time. I will probably book further classes for other levels after finishing these ones. The only thing I did not like much is that three levels(beginners, improvers, intermediate) (in the case of cha cha and bachata) are being taught at the same time in one hall, by three teachers, but the space is very limited so not quite ideal. Appart from that, I would recommend this school to just anyone who likes to learn some latinamerican moves even if just for fun or for further advanced experiences.

Overall was good. Could have got more teaching into the time (more like a half day intensive) but teacher was good. My biggest disappointment is that there is no 1 day intensive improvers class for Bachata and Salsa for non-locals who travel for the 1 day intensive beginners course but not close enough to attend weekly classes. I HOPE THIS GETS RECTIFIED ASAP! There was a big demand for this highlighted at the end of the class.

I don't normally write reviews for things but I found the site via google search and it was a bit of a punt so I thought I would share how well it worked out so that others can have a similarly good experience.

I took their all-day beginner bachata workshop, and I thought it was excellent. They covered all the basics, with us ending up with a good repetoire of basic footwork, body movements (find those hips!), and basic partnerwork patterns. Solid grounding. And all in a very charming atmosphere. Warmly recommended.

Thanks Batu for the great Bachata course. I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot. My only comment for improvement of the course would be do do the second half partnerwork by doing the moves together like we did for the first half footsteps. There's so much to take in and it's so easy to forget for beginners. If you took us through the partnerwork by example, step by step, that would be great!
