Salsateca are amazing, the teachers are really friendly and are able to work with all experience levels. I went to my first class in 2019 just to try something new and I was hooked! Even through the pandemic there were options to dance and I'm now doing 2 or 3 Salsateca classes a week plus the social dances. Absolutely love it and the sense of community and the friends I've made have helped me so much.

Went as a complete beginner for the salsa and bachata classes, and I was surprised at the progress I managed to make in a short amount of time.
There is quite a bit of variety of classes, both in terms of style (e.g. cross body vs cuban salsa) and in terms of pacing and length (e.g. 1h vs 3h lessons) which I think is excellent, since you can try them out and pick one that suits you best. Lessons are held every day of the week (apart for Mondays) at various locations across London, so I had little trouble finding a slot that worked for me. Some of the lessons also have social dancing events afterwards which are very helpful for practicing moves and developing your own style. As someone with no dancing experience, I found the intensive beginners classes extremely helpful, and I'd recommend them to anyone in a similar position.
The community is also a big plus: both the teachers and the other students are very friendly and passionate about dancing which made for a really enjoyable experience. The more experienced students are very helpful even if you're just on your first lesson, which is was very welcoming to see as a beginner. The teachers will give you specific tips to improve your style, and other useful advice such as how to interpret the music. I took lessons mostly form Virginia, Ivan and Fran, all of them are great and have their unique style from which you'll pick things up.
Overall I've had a great experience here and I definitely recommend it!

My first ever salsa lesson was with Salsateca and it was 3 hour long workshop. I made it through these 3 hours and got a big hug from the teacher. I never looked back. I recommend salsateca and its friendly teachers. It kept me sane through lockdown when we were able to dance in small groups. I am totally addicted to dancing and will always go back to Salsateca. It is not just a dance school but a very friendly community of teachers and students.

I started classes with Salsateca during the lockdown and was very grateful for it. Not only did it give me a chance to keep learning salsa and exercise but it gave me access to some great teachers and I also made some good friends through it.
Salsateca offers xbody and Cuban salsa along with modern/sensual bachata. However, it also holds more unusual classes such as Dominican bachata and musicality lessons for dancers, which are favourites of mine.
Big thanks especially to Virginia for all her help in turning me into a social dancer!

I go every week (I'm hooked). It's honestly such a warm, welcoming and fun place to be. Great teachers and it's never intimidatingly so don't worry if you're a beginner, they'll have you dancing in no time. :)

If you want to learn how to dance and have fun while doing it, Salsateca is the way. SPOILER you might get addicted.

I love coming to salsa and bachata classes at Salsateca! Every class is professional, challenging and fun. The teaches are all great and there is a lovely sense of community even for newcomers and beginners :)

This is the real deal!! Best Latino dance in town with top teachers, wonderful choice of music, friendly and inspiring vibes!! I could be dancing all night long!! Teachers are experienced, friendly and truly passionate about teaching and seeing students improving. I am always inspired and left with the ‘ can’t wait for next class’ feeling. This is a top service !! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I took up this outdoor class after the first lock down. It is great fun, you don't need anyone to go with and you are always made welcome. You learn new steps each week so you will gain confidence. Although it is currently an outdoor class you are not very aware of people around you and on lookers always look impressed. Highly recommended.

Its not super clear from the website, but they are in a different location depending on the day. The do have a poster that lists the various activities and locations by day.
I tried their classes on Monday which is in the took under a church and I have mixed feelings. The teachers were nice and friendly but the room was packed with people, with three classes in the same room, teachers were having a difficult time being heard.
It's a drop in system which is very convenient but brings its disadvantages. The main one is that the group always ends up having people with very different skills.
All in all it was fun and I would recommend it but the organisers should devise a better system.

I had my first lesson. The instructor was friendly and a good communicator. However, I felt like things were moving a bit too fast. He showed us some complicated bachata figures and combinations. I sometimes found it hard to follow.

Definitely the most fun, relaxed and varied salsa club in London. The teachers are all brilliant and there's a great diversity in teaching and dancing styles, and club vibes. There's something for everyone. I was really nervous when I first started but the teacher sand students were so friendly and supportive and I've quickly become a really confident dancer and I go to all their classes - cuban, cross-body salsa and bachata and have so much fun! I definitely recommend trying them, even if you've never danced before and are a bit shy.

Such a wonderful experience learning salsa and bachata! The tutors are all skilled, very friendly and upbeat. A great way to shake off the lockdown doldrums :)

Salsateca was where I started my very first salsa classes and, thanks to the excellent and extremely approachable teachers, didn't give up after few lessons. Great location, nice venue but that's only the part of the experience - fantastic and very dedicated people passionate about dance is what really makes the difference!!
There's a chance you won't like it but at least give it a go and who knows - you might discover a life changing activity, meet dozens of very nice people and have a great time!!
Fingers crossed and see you out there at the Latin dance floor!!
Special and massive thanks to Virginia Timon - you really made it easy!!

Salsateca runs Salsa and Bachata lessons at Amber Bar every Tuesday and Wednesday. And parties and other workshops at other venues other days. I started dancing several years ago and I just got addicted. People from all ages and backgrounds interact on the dance floor where the atmosphere is so friendly and fun. You don't need a partner and you don't need to book in advanced, they keep changing partners during the lessons so is so much fun. There are 4 different levels and many beginners every day so you always find many people in your same situation. 100% recommendable experience.

Hello everybody!
I tried for the 1st time the workshop about cuban salsa and...
I really enjoyed the lesson!
Believe in my point of view, cause I've seen many dance teachers and being professional is not so common!
3 hours is not much time, is the time enough to learn properly a move and make us able to repeat by ourselves. Teachers are qualified and make you at ease.
Looking forward to meet them again!

Decided to learn salsa during the last month I have been trying different spots around London. I have found Salsateca to be the best one: well prepared teachers, good organization and they have classes all week from Monday to Saturday workshops, so you cannot miss a chance. Classes are well taught and not overbooked, so you can really feel you are learning.
Special mention to Virginia, who is really friendly and knows how to make a class fun whilst still showing real salsa.

Just had an amazing lesson with Virginia at Salsateca! I'm a complete beginner. Very clear instructions on the steps and (most important) detailed help on how to lead (for guys) and how to follow (for gals). Virginia is obviously a very experienced teacher as well as a great dancer. I'm planning to go there regularly from now on. :)

Incredible vibe at salsateca events with absolutely fantastic teaching. I've loved learning salsa and bahasa with their awesome teachers and don't plan on stopping any time soon!

El Bembe is a fabulous night and suitable for anyone from beginners to the more advanced. The format works incredibly well in the venue space, which is divided into three areas; each of the three skill levels taking place in one of those areas, and a DJ sending music through the three areas as the classes progress. What a brilliant idea! It's totally clockwork, slick and expertly coordinated. It couldn't have worked more perfectly in the space. The staff, promoters and DJs are all really friendly and welcoming, as are the clientele. The mix of music is fabulously varied, satisfying everyone from crossbody dancehall stars to Cuban rumberos to romantic bachata partners. Excellent arrangement and fantastic night - couldn't recommend enough!

Easily one of the best salsa nights in London, right in the heart of the city! Cuban and Bachata on Tuesdays, and Crossbody and Bachata on Wednesdays. Always a super friendly vibe with great teachers, music and dancers. Highly recommended.

So much fun. Totally accessible for beginners, with friendly teachers and students, with progression to the higher levels offered through multiple evenings during the week to fit with one's schedule. Highly recommended.

I recommend it to everyone. I have tried several venues and this is the best one by far. Great teachers, great fun. It's quite central and they offer different levels and different types of dance. Give it a try!!

Nice vibe and atmosphere during Monday classes at Salsateca with very nice teachers (Spanish that´s why hehehe Ivan and Virginia both very attentive and professional)
I have attended twice as I just can do Mondays due to my work scheduled and both times I have enjoyed a lot even though I struggled with the new steps
Very recommended for salsa/bachata lovers and dancers in general ;)
