I was recommend to The Windmill Dental Practice as I am needle phobic. My dentist retired, I had to find a new one, one I could trust and understand my fears. From the first phone call to Steph I was put at ease,she explained the procedure concerning Covid rules, and also that the dentist would go at my pace and explain everything to me. On the day of my assessment, i was greeted at the door, by a very friendly receptionist, all Covid procedures carried out. I was recommended to see Dominic, I was instantly put at ease by him and his nurse. He listened to my fears and gave me choices of treatment. The clinic is modern, bright and spotless as you would and should expect. Yesterday I had my first treatment from the excellent new Dentist ,Jacy,who has taken over the practice from Andrew. As well as being a very nice person she is a very good dentist gentle and caring and I did not feel any pain or discomfort and there were no problems. I was a bit apprehensive about the new regulations but it all went like clockwork. I tapped on the window to let them know that I was outside and I was called inside almost immediately by the friendly and efficient receptionist who opened the door for me and then I was taken up to the hygienist who was wearing full PPE. I was amazed at how quick and efficient everything was no waiting and the usual excellent care from this team of highly professional and friendly staff. Everything possible has been done to keep you and the staff safe and I felt completely safe and relaxed. Another bonus was that I was able to buy 2 tubes of Duraphat toothpaste for less that half the price I had been paying for one on line when the surgery was closed. The receptionist always greets you (and remembers who you are) and there has never been an occasion where staff have talked amongst themselves and ignored a client. Going to the dentist is something that most people dread,but you don't have to worry here! ,going to the windmill practice is actually a pleasant experience. You will find everyone is very friendly from the receptionist to the dental Nurse , and most importantly the dentist . While you are waiting for your appointment you can relax and have a coffee ,usually the wait is not too long. my whole family comes here and I know several friends that also come to this practice. When you meet your dentist or hygienist they will explain everything to you in detail , I personally have no complaints whatsoever with the dental work ,and I have had a lot of work done here , perhaps the only downside is that the cost of the dental treatment it's not cheap !,but in the long term it's well worth the outlay, most people can also take out a dental plan which does help a lot with the cost especially for the checkups and the hygienist . I would definitely recommend the windmill practice

I had a full hours consultation with an in depth discussion of what the problem was and a plan for future treatment and visits. I have had a long standing phobia of going to a dentist for well over 40 years, and have had such difficulties sitting in the chair (even under sedation) that I have been asked not to return to 3 previous dental surgeons. I heard about the Windmill Dental Practice after I had been in touch with The Dental Helpline, and decided as a last ditch attempt to give them a go. I cannot praise this surgery enough, I am not sure how they did it, but I have never felt as calm and comfortable in any dental surgery. I have now completed something I never thought I would, a full course of dental work, and all without sedation. Nothing hurt at all - honest, not even the needle (mind I did give their stress ball a good nip - just in case). I can now smile without feeling self conscious - a big thanks to all at The Windmill Surgery

I signed up with this practice after many months of trouble with a tooth that my previous dentist seemed unable to deal with properly. This had led to numerous visits to my previous NHS dentist including an out-of hours visit to the emergency weekend service with severe pain in my tooth and face and repeated courses of antibiotics. No one told me off like a child as previous dentists have done .Dr Ginny Whitehouse spent time going through my dental history listening to all my concerns and there was quite a few , is going to sit down with my x-rays etc and come up with a plan of action, what's possible and what's not .It's the first time in years I have felt at ease and confident in a dentist.(Michelle Salsbury)
