UPDATE 25/1/22 I have warmed to this practice over my previous comments. I guess I was a bit frustrated during the pandemic at not being able to get to a dentist. David is great and is very good at handling my concerns re pain and the speed at which the injections are done. I had a specific request on that and he listened to me patiently and adapted his procedure to it, which was fantastic. He is friendly and will chat to you while he works. The patient waiting room could perhaps do with a *wee bit* of an upgrade, but this is a minor grumble. The hygienist was also very good and friendly.

They are amazing, polite and when you are in need of care they are not going to disappoint. Sure you need to stick to soft food and no sugar drinks for a bit after dental work but that's called DENTAL CARE which is what they are trying to educate you on. The reminder calls about my appointments have been a god send during stressful weeks which can lead a person forgetful. Mr Kwan is beyond amazing. So polite and funny! 100% recommend this dental practice to anyone.

I had a very positive experience with David. I came to him with alot of pain with an upper 6 tooth, in which I had had two different composite fillings, which were causing me severe pain. I had been suffering for many months. He listened to me, he was compassionate, and he got me out of pain. I was very happy that he offered me follow up appointments to check all was OK. I would recommend him. Particularly appreciated that he has a calm and confident manner. 👍😁

Always so polite, welcoming and professional. I have yet to meet someone who makes me feel uncomfortable whilst I am having work done on my teeth. They are gentle and very cautious. Always asking if you're ok and if you're comfortable. As they are probably aware of bad experiences in the past from previous dentists or phobias of dentist tool noises and sensations. But don't worry. These folks are amazing. Without them, I would have lost teeth from being too afraid to take up appointments. Now they're better than ever and it's all thanks to them. They make me smile and my smile is looking better than ever because of you lot! <3

With the current restrictions in place met at the front door by one of the young receptionists and escorted to reception. The dentist I saw was new to me and initially discussed my general health. This was followed by my examination and a couple of x-rays. Finally my treatment plan was discussed and further appointments made. Overall a good experience which I'm quite happy to recommend.

Appointment was during Covid restrictions. Reception staff were courteous and informative during my health check, and when at the reception waiting area. The dental care assistant and the dental technician were also courteous and informative. All staff were professional in their approach and made sure my visit was comfortable.

Waiting time was very minimal and my appointment time was maintained. The dentist and hygienist were very courteous and professional whilst carrying out their duties and always had my wellbeing as their priority. Treatment was very thorough and carried out efficiently. The only area I found slightly uncomfortable was the cleaning process of my teeth and sensitivity experienced during that process of using the air and water on my sensitive teeth. I have been with this dental surgery for many years and can highly recommend their professional and experienced team to take care of your dental needs.

I attended my checkup at the end of November 2020. Ann gave me a very thorough inspection of mouth, jaw, neck. She also advised me on suitable cleaning sticks for between the teeth, as the ones I was using would remove food particles but would not help with keeping on top of plaque. I have been a patient for over 4 years now and I recommend them to anybody who asks. My dentist has made me feel very at ease and less anxious from the first day I went. She talked me through any treatment and whilst having it she kept reassuring me everything was okay. This is the only dentist surgery where the dentists don't leave after 6 months or a year like most are and you continsually get another dentist who doesn't know you. 9/10 I have had an appointment with my same dentist. Only on an emergency appointment it has been someone else who has the same nature and I was given a same day appointment so I wasn't left in pain. I have recommended friends and family especially those with anxiety because they take into consideration the patient and the best way to give treatment. Perfect for a Dental Surgery.

Chong Kwan Dental Care has the loveliest and most caring staff I have ever met at a dentists. They give me multiple reminders leading up to appointments, which is great as I have a terrible memory. I recently approached Chong Kwan Dental Care after needing an emergency appointment due to bad toothache, caused by a damaged tooth and abscess. I have to say I have been impressed by the level or care right from the start. The receptionist were very friendly, understanding and helpful, and arranged an appointment for me later the same day. The dentist was friendly and informative, and took the time to listen and was able to provide a resolution to my toothache, whilst I was waiting on antibiotics doing their work. I had a follow up appointment to have the offending tooth removed (after discussion with dentist, and being able to make an informed choice). I was impressed with how well my dentist kept me informed through treatment, and sought support from senior colleague where required, giving me total peace of mind. After the level of care received, I will be looking in to changing to this practice. Thank you again!

Best dentist ever, top quality care, great banter and quality entertainment from the dentist and nurses to make your visit as stress free as possible. They even play music of your choice to keep your mind off things. They made me an amazing metal plate, best engineering I ever did see. It took my very heavy bite away from my teeth to protect them still further. No fish tank in this place, because you don't need it.

Under the current circumstances our experience was good as it was a hygienist appointment you couldn't get the full service using the scale machine so it had to be a manual scale which was better than notihng at all. Hi there! I ended up going to see Lauren Cross at Chong Kwan dental surgery as an emergency patient. I was given the appointment through the dental advice line as I wasn't registered with anyone. I feel so embarrassed to say but I have the most terrible fear of dentists as I've had so many horrendous experiences with other dentists!!! I can well and truly say that Lauren has restored my faith in dentists again! She was so thorough, explained everything fully and totally understood my fear and made me feel totally at ease so much so that I have now registered with the practice and have made an appointment for a check up and will continue to have my teeth checked every 6 months!! Having not been near a dentist for ten years or more I was worried that I would be told that I needed lots of work done. (I have a bugbear about unnecessary dental work which makes money for the practice.) After a very thorough check up of my entire mouth and 2 x-rays into the bargain, I needed nothing done and was charged just a few pounds! The subsequent hygienist appointment for scale and polish was very professional and productive with lots of tartar scraped off and some nasty stains polished out. I wish that I'd gone years ago!

I used to be terrified of going to the dentist and received hypnosis for this from my dentist, David Chong Kwan, some years ago. Highly recommend!!!!!! I was given an appointment extremely quickly After being seen I was told to go for a check up with a more senior dentist the following day. By this point I was pretty concerned and Eilidh put me at ease she done a thorough examination, gave so much of her time to explain everything to me as well as advise on the best steps to follow with medication and toothpaste. As someone who had spent 20 with an absolute phobia of dentists I broke a tooth and needed an emergency appointment, picked a random as far away from my old dentist as possible (and the resin for the phobia). Wow, what a revelation. Really nice, helpful and professional staff who took my phobia seriously and they have been amazing. As you can guess after so long I need a lot of work dove but they are that good I actually fell asleep during a root canal treatment. There are only a few garages I would let work on my motorbike...there is only one dental practice I would let near me. I am really sooooo chuffed I found them.

Going to the dentist is not on many people's 'No 1 destinations', but it's something that has to be done. And if you have to go to the dentists, then this practice is the one to go to. We've been patients for 20 years [I think] and the care that David provides is second to none. I have a very strong 'gagging reflex' and David is always alert to any potential distress and helps me to deal with it, sensitively. And, to help reduce and deflect nerves - he's also very funny! Allows the patient to cope with the experience - instead of just [grinning and] bearing it!

Following an appointment on 21st September, delayed by government decree from 24th March, I have no hesitation in continuing to recommend David Chong Kwan's mission to allow those teeth I have left to remain in my mouth. With skill and determination, he and his team have been successful in that mission for well over 30 years and even the most sensitive of my teeth hope, indeed expect, to be able to bite on my food till the Grim Reaper eventually calls. A mere five stars are barely enough!

I blame Blackpool this time round. A friend brought back a stick of rock, and you can guess the rest. A same day appt' was made. In fact within the hour! I saw Alex who did the initial temp' filling, prior to Erika doing the permanent filling the very next day, in the morning. A totally pain free numbing up was followed by a pain free permanent filling. One day I'll learn my lesson, and a permanent filling might actually last as long as it should. No surprise to me here.
