I would highly recommend Philip Friel and his team in Hyndland. Philip helped me through a difficult extraction of a chronically infected lower molar followed by careful preparation for an implant. The implant process was straightforward and every stage was explained in detail. I am absolutely delighted with the result and can chew again normally for the first time in over a year. It's amazing what we take for granted. Thank you so much, I'm very grateful indeed - fantastic job.

I was referred to Philip by my NHS dentist when the root of my front tooth which was supporting a Crown for many years cracked. My NHS dentist had given me a temporary false tooth as a short term option for cosmetic purposes. I personally felt the solution long term using a single false tooth plate would not be ideal for me. On my first visit to Philip a thorough examination including x ray was completed and a discussion on what treatment could be provided for me. I was then sent a email with full details of my treatment plan and costs. Appointments were made and the procedure for a dental implant began. Special mention must be made that my treatment began August 2020 when most NHS dental practices were not open for treatments. Philip and his team must be commended for carrying out all procedures while keeping staff and patients in a safe environment in the middle of a global pandemic. Throughout my time from having the broken root extracted the healing process then having the implant inserted along with another period of healing the support and advice by Philip was unquestioned. The state of the art equipment used by Philip along with his working relationship with the Dental Lab used to provide my replacement Tooth which included me personally attending the Dental Lab to ensure correct shading of Tooth is another beneficial part of the process. Finally on March 2021 I had my final fitting with fantastic results. I have continued to visit Philip since for ongoing check ups on the work that was completed whilst also visiting Claire (Dental Hygienist) every three months since and after treatment to ensure overall dental health is maintained. From Philip,Dental Nurse Jenn,Hygienist Clair and Reception Team the professionalism help and friendliest is of the 5 star standard. I would recommend Philip Friel Advanced Dentistry.

After suffering from Toothache and re-occurring Abcesses for over a year and at that point thought my only option was the dreaded Dentures my Dentist referred me to Philip to see what….if anything could be done. I was very apprehensive when I arrived for my Appointment dreading being told that he couldn’t help me. I needn’t have worried he immediately put me at my ease and after Examination and X Rays said he would put together a plan of action detailing my Options and a step by step guide to achieve the desired result. The required treatment was extensive and involved extractions, new crowns, bone graft, sinus elevation and finally Implants and would take approx 18 months to complete. At every visit he went over every step of the Procedure to be carried out asked if I had any questions and was both professional and reassuring. Some of the procedures were daunting to say the least, wee bit uncomfortable but not painful and never once had an infection after the Surgery. I was always given an Out of Hours Contact number in case of any problems but never needed to use it. When the treatment was finally completed I at last had a healthy pain free mouth no abcesses and no longer afraid to smile. Before I went to the Clinic I thought my teeth were beyond saving but Philip proved me wrong and rose admirably to the challenge. I recently completed a course of implant treatment with Philip Friel. This followed his successful treatment of an abscess, then the discovery that the tooth was cracked. Options for next steps were discussed and I favoured implant surgery. Following this, he sent an email with a full and helpful account of the options, the implant procedure, any possible risks and the desired outcome. There was also a dental plan outlining costs at each stage. He answered further questions at my next appointment and the decision to proceed with implant surgery was entirely mine. I already had every confidence in his skill, having undergone a very successful implant surgery procedure with him some years earlier. From start to finish of the treatment, I benefited from a very high level of support and care. During the surgery, both Philip Friel and the dental nurse ensured I was comfortable at all times and I can honestly say I felt no pain. Before I left, I was given advice on looking after the site of the surgery over the next few days. Two days later, I was concerned about an aspect of the healing process (quite unnecessarily as it turned out) and called the surgery for advice. Philip Friel called me back the same day, gave further advice and reassurance and, since it was Friday, a contact number in case I needed his advice over the weekend, with the offer of an appointment on the Monday should I feel it necessary. Neither of these things proved to be required but such commitment to patient care was hugely appreciated. Thereafter, the implant procedure was completed smoothly and I am delighted with the final outcome. Philip Friel is a committed professional who cares about his work and the views of his patients. I have confidence in his ability to find solutions to any dental issues. He listens and takes time to answer queries. Moreover, the same care and professionalism have been evident from my regular hygienist, Clare, and all the dental nurses I have seen at each visit.

I have been superbly well looked after by Mr Philip Friel and his team at the Advanced Dentistry Cinic for more than 13 years now and I am very happy to say that I absolutely couldn’t fault the service I have received in that time. Mr Friel is a consummate professional and his exacting standards and expertise are demonstrated by all of the staff within the clinic. Prior to any advanced procedures whether they be bone grafts, implants or veneer work all aspects are discussed in depth and followed up in writing for peace of mind. Once Mr Friel completes a procedure for you then you can happily move on with your life as any work which has been completed for me has never required any further adjustment or interference, it is right first time, every time. As noted all staff within the clinic are highly professional and courteous at all times which all adds to every visit being an extremely pleasant experience, I have the smile to prove it.

I made an appointment to speak to Philip Friel about implants as I had been recommended by a friend. Philip is very experienced and although I was worried about having a broken crown removed and having the implants fitted he talked me through everything and I felt totally confident in his ability. Altogether I had 4 implants and a crown and I would urge anyone who is thinking of an implant to visit Philip Friel. Having come recommended by a friend, I had dental implants fitted around six years ago by Philip Friel. This was out of necessity, as my root had cracked on a lower crown following treatment for an abcess by another dentist. I was in discomfort every day from having to wear a partial lower denture. Mealtimes, once to be enjoyed, became a thing of trepidation. My confidence also lacked. However, from the initial consultation, I have felt nothing but confidence and admiration for the professionalism of Philip and his highly skilled team. I never once felt pressured into financial decisions or treatments. I attend every year for a routine check up. I can honestly say, it has changed my life for the better.

So far I’ve only had a consultation but Philip was very helpful making me come to a decision about treatment that when I went to other private dental clinics (Berkeley, Scottish centre for dentistry, botanics dental and others) to discuss options they didn’t give me complete answers or talked in circles. He answered my questions in a down to earth clear and relaxed way. First time I fully accepted what a dentist had told me. The reception staff were nice, I couldn’t come at the time I booked and they said it wasn’t a problem and got me in later that day. All with a happy attitude. Also, I get neck pain and hate dentist chairs. The one at the clinic had this wide head rest that I’ve not seen before. Makes a huge difference to me. The halls are small but the room I was in was spacious. A lot of clinics I’ve been to feel like I’m crammed in an undersized room with dental staff a few inches away from me while the dentist hovers on top of me. Wasn’t the case this time.

I went here a few years ago and got quite a bit of work done privately. The work was good quality and has lasted well, and generally the team were great - however I had a lot of difficulty getting them to understand that I was working with limited funds, and they were very pushy, often scheduling more work than I could afford at one time, despite my having laid out my budget restrictions clearly. The dentist was also very keen to pull teeth out that I believe could have been preserved for at least some time in a functional state, on the basis that he wanted to replace them with dental implants (which I would not have been able to afford for years, something I made clear but which was ignored). So, mixed feelings. Good quality work, but damaging lack of empathy, and a tendency to upsell with no regard for specific patient needs and circumstances.

It is a stunning practice with everyone pulling together to make a truly extraordinary experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and this was down to the incredible facilities and the wonderful people there who were ready to help with an array of problems.
