I've been registered with Shawlands Dental Care for 4 years now and I've always received a warm welcome whenever I drop in for an appointment. All of the staff are friendly, accommodating and understanding and I've never had a bad experience once. I sometimes get nervous when having treatment done, however my dentist is always understanding and helps me to feel calmer. I'd recommend Shawlands Dental Care to anyone considering changing to a new dental practice!

I have been a patient here for a few years now. Would highly recommend them. I've seen 3 different dentists & 2 different hygienists. Each & everyone of them make you feel really relaxed & comfortable. Especially when your nervous and pregnant!! They explain exactly what there going to do & answer any questions you have. The receptionist staff are always very welcoming & polite too. The building itself is very easily accessible because its on a main road plus its very modern and clean & tidy. 10 out of 10

My first visit to the practice was on Tuesday. I found the practice to be easily accessible, at street level with a large automated entry for patients with mobility needs. The reception was large, light and very clean and comfortable. I found all staff to be very helpful - they can't do enough for you. My dental nurse was fantastic and explained everything very clearly, so I understood what treatments I need, and the next steps. Five stars from me for the complete patient journey - I can't recommended this practice enough, and so glad I chose them for my dental needs.

Attended today after nearly 30 years of not seeing a dentist due to a bad experience when I was a child. Nervous was an understatement, however when I arrived I was met with the biggest charming welcome from Richard. Then seeing Lauren was instantly at ease, kept me informed and really looked after me. The receptionists are extremely pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable and our dentist, Dayna Scully, was superb. She was patient and sensitive to our needs and explained everything in language that we could understand. We both felt entirely safe and comfortable in her care. Parking isn't good and I try to use the very convenient public transport to get there. I have to say I've been to a lot of dentists in my life, and James Miller is by far the best dentist I have ever had. He is always adaptable, asks my opinion on things and explains them very well in layman's terms. James and anyone working with him are always polite, chatty and very professional. I've had extensive dental work in my time, and the treatment I've had in your dentist is far better than any I've ever had anywhere else. I've recommended Shawlands dental care to several people as a result of the excellent treatment I've received from James, anyone working with him, and the people at the front desk. No one enjoys going to the dentist, but the entire team in your building make the experience as pleasant as possible.

I had an incredible experience at Shawlands Dental Care, thanks to the expertise of Haroon Ismail. I underwent the "Invisalign" treatment to address some misalignment across my top and bottom teeth (significant movement caused during pregnancy). I was really surprised that such a simple, clear aligner could have such a powerful impact in such a short space of time. At the end of the treatment, my teeth were completely aligned, exactly as the team had assured me they would. This was such a great investment; great outcome, great value and worth every penny. I was not registered with a Dentist after sustaining a facial injury, at work a week ago and unable to be seen at the Glasgow Dental Hospital, I phoned the Shawlands Dental Care today, who very kindly managed to give me a cancellation appointment the same day. From the minute I stepped over the door I was greeted by friendly, polite and courteus staff. The Dentist put me at ease immediately and explained everything thoroughly, including x-rays and referral to Maxillofacial Surgery. They have state of the art equipment and experts on hand for all eventualities. It is like a mini hospital. They are outstanding, especially in dealing with anxious patients and those who have a fear of Dentists. After their first visit they are no longer anxious or worrued about going to the Dentist.

They tell you all your options smile makeovers, treatments, prices etc, discuss work insurance with you and are just generally really happy to help. I never feel I'm getting up sold just genuinely getting advised my options and what that would look like. In particular my dentist Allen was just fantastic. I scale and polish regularly (every 3 months), and I do it both privately and on nhs in here, and so far have done it in at least 3 different countries. I attended shawlands dental care looking for a dental implant clinic in and around the glasgow area. I was recommended to see one of the drs at the clinic. I now see them for all my dental work including hygiene treatment. I had worn a top denture for the past 8 years and had something called an all on 4 procedure which gave me fixed teeth. The treatment was by an large pain free. The only downside to the clinic is sometimes it can be difficult to get parked nearby and they are probably slightly more costly compared to the competition but they are worth it in my opinion. Anna and Ashley were very helpful throughout.

I registered to this practice not long ago. I have had 3 appointments with Dr Haroon Ismail to-date. The first visit being a general check-up, which included an x-ray, so I could see what's going on in my mouth. Dr Ismail was very thorough with the check up. I particularly appreciated - when he was making treatment recommendations to me - the detailed manner in which the various options available were presented and the costs associated. Dr Ismail advised why particular treatments were more expensive than others and what the benefits of these would be. Very little use of dentist/medical jargon, easy to understand! My second appointment was a filling and I have never had a numbing injection like this. Dr Ismail was particularly careful and conscious that it can be an uncomfortable experience, creating an uncomfortable sensation. However the injection didn't nip, sting or cause any discomfort. Dr Ismail took extreme care with this in a manner I've not experienced from previous dentists. Finally, a clean-up where Dr Ismail was extremely thorough and spent some further time with me - including the hygienist - to advise me of what I can do to keep my teeth and gums in great condition. 5-star practice and 5-star dentist.

Whereas I felt like the practice I used to attend would bill me for unnecessary work, I trust that James is giving an honest assessment to make sure I get the best treatment possible and also offering the best care plan for the situation. (e.g. I had to have a crown replaced but am currently wearing braces, and rather than making me pay more, James told me that I'd be better getting an inexpensive one made in the interim then investing in better, long-lasting material once my orthodontic work is complete as the old one might not be the best fit any more). I really appreciate that he's always offered the best advice for me as a patient rather than just the practice, and his work has always been exemplary. Highly recommend!

I have only had one 15 minute introductory dental examination, so it's too early to provide a review and rating as requested by email. However, it is a good sign that this dental practice seeks reviews and ratings on-line. I am looking for a practice for my whole family, and Shawlands Dental Care are rare in being able to deal with NHS patients at weekends and late on Wednesday - it is important to us that time is not taken from work for dental appointments. It is also handy to where we live, so we don't have to think about traffic or parking. My first impressions are that a bunch of young dentists have refurbished an old Bank of Scotland that had been vacant for years. It's a great location (Shawlands Cross - Pollokshaws Road- Kilmarnock Road corner with Skirving Street), and must be high for rates. They've made a good job of the refurb, and it looks like they have modern dental equipment, computers - so they'll be working hard to pay all this off and build the practice. My impression of the staff is that they are positively helpful - a chap rushed in 10 minutes late and was put at ease before being seen, a woman who didn't speak English very was treated with patience and allowed to stay seated in the waiting area for someone to pay and collect her. It's the little things, the details that make all the difference. All of which seems very positive for finding a practice for me, my wife and children to switch to.

He explained all the things he was going to do to straighten my teeth and it didn't take long for me to get over my fear. I already have the top ones on and getting the lower ones soon.
